Conecting 2nd monitor to mainboard integrated vga port on km4m

hello there, i got another monitor from my sister's old computer and want to get it working at the same time with my FIRST PRICIPAL MONIITOR, i got a Nvidia FX5200-T128 , that is where my first and principal monitor is connected ..... i use a KM4M-L mainboard, it has an integrated vga port, and i was wondering if i could plug my second monitor on there, andi did , but the system does not recognize it, i searched or an BIOS option like to enable that vga port , but was unable to find it... searched through all the mainboard's "users guide" but nothings talks about the integrated vga port. ..... i use 512 ddr for ram
i hope im giving all the information you need to help, if im not please let me know and i will be glad to .... any help here will be apreciated... as always

Unfortunatly, the onboard VGA port auto-disables when an AGP card is used. This leaves two choices for multi-monitor support. An AGP card with dual output, or adding a PCI card for the second output. Does your FX5200 have twin output? Many have 1 VGA and 1 DVI, which can be used simultaniously for dual monitors.
Ironicly, using a PCI video card, instead of an AGP, will usually allow the onboard to also be used.

  • Adding a Flat Screen Monitor as a 2nd Monitor to an Integrated Motherboard/Video

    Hi,
I am using a GeForce 6150SE nforce 430. It is integrated into an MSI motherboard (K9N6PGM2 v2) using an AMD CPU. The motherboard only has one VGA plug. What are my alternatives for adding a DVI plug for a flat screen monitor to run at the same time as my VGA monitor?
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

onboard unless its a very new skew wont use 2 monitor outs only one so like XFM sead you need a dedicated GPU (graphics card) that supports 2 screens out or greater!
most graphics cards from 2005 onwards support multi-monitor outputs. i always recomend a dedicated card over intigrated anyday, as they have more processing power and better features then the basic stuff on a cpu or intigrated GPU!

  • WAAS FLOW MONITOR and NETQoS integration ( what ports do I open)

    Hi there,
I am having issues integrating WAAS flow monitor feature with NetQoS in version 4.2.1.
The WAAS applicance fails to establish the initial session on port 778 with NetQoS which I believe it is needed to set the next session on port 9996 or 9995.
We have opened a "hole" for the WAE to register but still no go.
    Any help will be appreciated..
    Regards,
    Manuel

The port used to communicate between the flow monitor and the NetQoS Aggregator and Management Console is TCP port 7878. You should be able to use the show commands on 4.2 to show the connection status. If the firewall is blocking that port, you'll want to punch a hole and it will continue to try to connect.

  • USB Port Replicator 2nd monitor doesn't work on restart with Vista

    Greetings wise wizards of Lenovo:
I'm helping a friend with the USB Port Replicator, who is running Windows Vista Home Premium on her Acer laptop. She has all of the necessary hardware requirements, and I've installed the Lenovo USB Port Replicator drivers with once with Vista (automatically installing the drivers), once with the CD, and finally from the Lenovo website. The problem is that the port replicator works fine upon installation, but as soon as Vista is restarted, not only does a second monitor not appear automatically, it doesn't appear at all.
Connecting the second monitor to the laptop VGA port works fine, and I can extend the desktop across both the laptop and the second monitor... it is only a problem on restart with the port replicator. I've uninstalled and resintalled three times now, once with letting Vista provide the drivers automatically, once with the CD, and once with the website download.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Zovoth

Mines not working on XP. Works fine until I re-boot then I have a hard time getting it to work. I've tried unplugging the ac adapter, usb, tried switching my monitors and still nothing. Both monitors are functioning properly. The icon for the repilicator does not show up down the clock. It's in my program files with the only option to uninstall.
Comon Lenovo, there hasn't been an answer to this question since 2008???

  • I recently bought an Acer ATC Aspire TC-605-UB11 desktop; I need help setting up a 2nd monitor

I recently replaced my desktop with a new Acer Aspire TC-ATC-605-UB11 model. I moved the (working) video card from the old system to the new one, but I cannot find a way to enable the 2nd video card. I know that sometimes there are BIOS settings that must be adjusted, but I see nothing that looks like what I need. Some details: the integrated video hardware for my Acer is the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600.I am away from the system at the moment, and don't recall the specifics of the inserted video card. I can get that if asked.I suspect that either there is a setting required to allow multiple monitors (I have worked with similar systems before) or else the Acer simply doesn't allow for another video card (maybe interrupts or other resource limitations?). If this is the case, is there an option to use a USB video "card" instead? Thanks in advance to all answers!

msinfo32 shows my BIOS Version/Date as American Megatrends Inc. P11-B1, 8/7/2014. I'll have to power off to see the video card stats ... interesting that Device Manager doesn't even show the card. I recall that when I first tried it (3-4 weeks ago), I seated and re-seated the card (with power off, of course) when Device Manager didn't seem to see the card at all, even in and "Other" or "Unknown Device" category. Never mind! I assumed that the two video jacks in my Acer were "either/or", not "both". My old setup had one HDMI monitor and one DVI ... but the DVI monitor also has a VGA port, so I tried that and it works! I'll pull out the video card next time my system is powered off. Thanks, would have never tried plugging both monitors into the internal video card; I'm used to laptops having dual-output and desktops having single, so I ASSUMED that I needed a second video card. Works fine now!  +

  • IMac does not detect correct resolution of 2nd monitor

I am attempting to use my 42" LG HDTV as a 2nd monitor for my iMac. The native resolution for the LG is 1920x1080 but the iMac only allows me to select up to 1600x1200. It seems to think that the LG is a smaller screen than the iMac as well and my images are stretched. The monitors are also disproportionate, for example, if I expand a window so that there is an inch of space on all 4 sides on my iMac it will overwhelm the screen of the larger monitor so that only about 2/3 of the window is visible. It's as if the iMac thinks that the LG is in 4:3 display mode.
I am using a mini-DVI to VGA adapter. How can I get full resolution from my 2nd monitor?

The (analog) VGA connection is limiting your resolution. Idealy a (digital) Mini-DVI to DVI adapter and a DVI cable should allow the full resolution in Extended Desktop Mode.

  • Quality issues with VGA port on Type 2504 docking station

    Hi,
I see quality issues on the VGA output of the Type 2504 docking station with a T61. The monitor image is blurred, not much, but enough to be irritating. When I compare the DVI output with the VGA output on two equal NEC MultiSync LCD 2170NX monitors it is a clear difference. If I connect the LCD monitor to the VGA output of the T61 itself, the picture is clean. I have tried both monitors with different cables in different configurations and also adjusted monitors manually, and my conclusion is that it must be the VGA output of the 2504 that generates the un-sharpness. I have got several 2504 docking stations from the IT department to test and all attempts show the same unsharp picture on the LCD connected to the VGA port of any 2504. Recently a colleague got a new laptop and docking station. He also used DVI and VGA on the old setup and had no visible difference between the two monitors. His new setup is a different T but his new dock is also a 2504. Now he has clear difference between his monitors. He also tried several 2540 docks and cables but the difference is still present.
The unsharpness is not immediately present when just looking at a dual head setup. But after a while it becomes tiresome to look at text, specially black on white, on the monitor connected to the VGA port. There is a slight shadow on the right side of all letters. When looking at non-aliased fonts, they look as if aliased on the VGA connected monitor. Already aliased fonts tend to "smear" and I have the unpleasant feeling that my eyes are not focusing correctly.
My question is: Is there a different VGA DAC on the docking station, or are the analog signals just wired through from the laptop VGA DAC? Older IBM docks do not have this problem, we have a lot of them at work in dual head configuration with DVI + VGA to compare, and we only see this problem with the 2504.

VGA is an analogue signal... so it can be affected by the quality of DAC chip used by the GPU associated electronics, the quality of connectors on the vga out and dock (that is why good analgoue audio equipment use gold plated stuffs) and the quality of copper wire and shiedling used in the cable (i.e. Low Oxygen Content Copper wire).
The above is general description for all people to use <---- so please don't feel offended if i repeat something that is already said.
There is NO conversion electronics on the dock per se, they are just passthrough, so no conversion.
I guess the problem lies with improper shielding somewhere. I have the same problem with my T61/60 and dock and my T40,41,42,43 on five different docks.
So i have ended up using lenovo usb2dvi converter on T61 and have two dvi output and bypassed the vga altogether.

  • HT1338 cannot connect my MacBook Air to a projector  -does not detect and 2nd monitor. I have a new Mini port to VGA cable made by apple. When I read online I see that many people have the same problem - Is this an Apple defect??????????????????

I cannot connect my MacBook Air to a projector - It will not detect a 2nd monitor or display. I am using an Apple made Mini Display port to VGA adapter. As I read online I see that many other peple are having the same problem. Is this an Apple defect!!???? If so it just burst the bubble about how great macs are. I never had a problem with that on a PC. I hope I am wrong. What can you tell me?

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • What cable do I need to connect a 2nd Monitor from the thunderbolt port?

Hi I have got one of the brand new iMac's with thunderbolt ports - what cable do I need to connect my Imac to a 2nd display either VGA or DVI - also is there a budget version about as well as I am sure its going to cost a lot from the apple store

Thanks I understand that I need another cable and have that from when I connected my old PC to the 2nd monitor.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB570Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY  - is this the one I need if going to DVI
I just dont want to waste more money on a cable that says its for an imac to 2nd screen and find it doesnt fit
For info my iMAC is the latest version (27" with the 2 thunderbolt connections and 1 firewire)
    Thanks

  • 2nd Monitor Connected Via DVI to VGA Adapter is Blurry

I have a G4 dual 1.42 GHz (the last G4 model) and have an Apple 20" Cinema Display connected to the ADC port and a 21" CRT monitor connected to the DVI port via the DVI to VGA adapter supplied with the G4.
The CRT monitor display is blurry. I have tweaked display settings in System Preferences and the monitor's controls and nothing helps. I used this monitor in a dual monitor setup on a Power Mac 9600/300 and it was razor sharp, so I know that the monitor is okay. I could pull a display card from the old Power Mac 9600 since it's not being used anymore, but I hate to add another card to the G4 because of the heat problems. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm wondering, is it to be expected that the monitor connected to the DVI port via the DVI to VGA adapter won't look anywhere near as good as if it were connected to a separate graphics card? Thanks.

  • 1 Lightning port as both 2nd monitor AND storage SSD? - 21" 2011 iMac

    Hello!
I am considering picking up my first SSD drive for use as a work horse for streaming video and audio for my prosumer use.  My 21" 2011 iMac only has the one lightning port, which I plug my old 19" LCD monitor into for the extra screen real estate.  Not wanting to bottleneck the SSD speed by connecting it to USB 2 or even FireWire, does such a throughput device exist that would allow the one lightning port to support both  my 19" display as well as a mounted, external SSD drive?  I know that the lightning port had an expandable future, but I'm not sure if this is possible.  If it IS possible, I would imagine doing so would still be expensive.  Thanks a bunch!

Haha, THUNDERBOLT!   Sorry, mate.  I must have been thinking of the newer iPad/iPhone connector.  Goes to show you how much mind I've paid to apples new port.  Anyway, that's great news.  Thank you.  I was pessimistic about their being enough bandwidth to fully support my 2nd monitor in addition to the top notch speeds of an SSD.  I was curious to know where there might be any sacrifices one way or another.

  • 2nd monitor / VGA to ADC

    Hi
I have my G5 connect to Song Monitor via DCI port.
I like to add another monitor.
The monitor I got come with the VGA port and now I only have ADC port available.
How could I make it work?
    1. can I connect the monitor VGA port to the VGA to DVI connector and then connect it to the DVI to ADC connector?
    2. can I connect a Y cable which one side connect to the DVI and the other two come with VGA port?
    3. can I use the video card from my G4 cube to the G5?
    Any advice.
    Thank you

As I said above, if the DVI port is already used by a DVI display, you should try to find an ADC to VGA adapter. Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone still making these adapters, so you need to search online or on eBay. They seem quite hard to find.
However, there are plenty of DVI to VGA adapters, including the one Apple sells.
So you if you really want to do this, you can get an ADC to DVI adapter, for example
    http://www.drbott.com/prod/db.lasso?code=0136-ADDV
and connect the DVI display to your ADC port. Then get a DVI to VGA adapter, for example
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8754G/A?mco=MTIxODk3Mw
and connect the VGA display to your DVI port.
And before buying, consider the total cost of acquiring these adapters against getting a newer better video card with two DVI ports. Or maybe getting an older Apple display with an ADC port.
