Conection to local db through citrix

Hi all,
I'm running an application that connects to a db (oracle 8 installed in server) in citrix and after that the data collected must be inserted in a db installed in local (oracle 10g).
The problem starts when trying to connect to the local db (10g): I get an ora 12154.
Mi question: is there any possibility that allows me to do that? I mean, is it possible to execute my application in citrix, collect the data (from oracle 8) and export this data to a database (10g) installed in my local drive (c:\ for example).
Any kind of help will be really appreciated.

May be your are right and there´s not an entry for my local db on citrix. The reason is that my app is still developing (early state of previous tests... just trying if its possible to connect the 2 db).
I will try to add that entry in tnsnames on citrix, but it doesn´t depends on me...

We have a few of the products installed. You will find they work okay but nothing replaces working locally.
We are, however, using the Enterprise version that is not tied to cloud accounts.
We have had to play with the video setting of Citrix for better Quality. If you ratchet them up to high for someone that is doing high end editing your performance drops significantly. The screen refresh is blocky and no one doing this work would find it usable.
We have it there fore simple editing and managing our media. I am looking for a much better storage solution that is sharable across platforms and locations.

Problem while printing through citrix

Dear Gurus ,
We are facing the problem during printing through citrix .
When we print locally without using citrix were able to get the proper print as it displayed in the spool .
But When we try to take the printout of document having say 12 colum , only 10 colums r coming asthe print out .
Please suggest as the views on this issue are valuable

Multiple monitors - P6 PRO application is a published app through Citrix.

We require the ability to spread the P6 Pro client application across multiple monitors. This is no issue for a local P6 client install but CSX is a Citrix shop with P6 pro published as an application through Citrix, not locally. Our current Citrix configuration doesn't allow for maximizing BOTH monitors, only 1 monitor will work.
Please see attached screenshot.
Is there a way to have P6 PRO work using 2 monitors as a Citrix deployed application ?

Out of the box the palm is able to sync to two software packages Palm Desktop and Microsoft Outlook.
Using Outlook you can set up multiple palm profiles that can sync to the same Outlook profile and have the Outlook profile controlled by the server, this way you can add data to the server and it will port over to Outlook.
Outlook would be set up normally "set up to connect to a server" and then when the palm desktop is installed and set to sync to Outlook all the Palm profiles will sync the Outlook data.
As far as network syncing it is just another way to get to the same data as apposed to using the direct cable method.

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and Primavera Scheduler Through Citrix

I am running Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on my stand alone computer. I am working a Primavera Schedule on line through Citrix. When I try to make a PDF from the schedule on line the print quarry tells me it sent the information to Acrobat, but Acrobat never makes the PDF. The "make PDF" box just sits there, blank. Is there a way to force Acrobat 9 to make the PDF of the schedule that is on line, or is this not possible?? I could export the file from on line to my desktop, but that takes about 8 hours. There must be another way.

Yes, I know you are correct. I just get so dawg tired of the complications evolved in trying to make some programs work together. And I really don't know that much about Citrix either (at this point). I just found it hard to believe they (Adobe or Citrix) haven't ran into this problem already. I'd rather be able to work hard all day getting my customer what they want rather than spending most of the day fighting software issues. At any rate, thanks once again.

Unable access to Access Adobe Forms through Citrix

Hi All,
We are able to login through VPN to our Client network, We are able access SAP through Citrix, When we try to access or test Webdynpro appliactions and Adobe forms.. we are not able access, Please suggest what could be the problem.
Recently we found that, even are not able to access SAP Portal after logging to the client domain, and we understand that, there is http port and 500000 port needs to be opened to access these appliactions. But the people who are in the intranet( Client domain) are able to access all these applications.
Please suggest, is there any settings needs to be done at Citrix level or firewall level.etc...
Note: When we try to access Adobe form we are getting some version id...etc... through citrix, but people are able to access directly in their domain.

Hi Pradeep,
I think that you may not get the performance running adobe forms while using citrix. For using portal applications you need to open the port to access the client portal through VPN.

Yes, access with RDP, but there is a task that requires connecting through clienless vpn to different servers are also available to local HDD client PC.
I implemented it by adding the connection "rdp://servers?RedirectDrives=TRUE", but it is uncomfortably for end users, as it is possible to solve the problem without having to manually specify this option?

Starting Weblogic Server from VisualCafe through Citrix

We have VisualCafe running on NT. The NT box is acting as a Citrix
server.
We are trying to start the Weblogic server on a UNIX box from
VisualCafe.
The Weblogic server runs fine on the UNIX box when started locally but
we
cannot start it through VisualCafe. It complains that DDServices are
not running on the UNIX box, which is incorrect. Does anyone know of
any
problems relating to running through a Citrix server?

no - nothing happened. it perform the next java code - and there is nothing else happen on the windows.
maybe i don't check in the right place for the error you are talking about?
i also tried i simple cmd file that does nothing - but still nothing...
for any other file types it works properly.

File DownLoad from R/3 to Local Disk through Web Dynpro

Hi,
I have a zebra print spool, to be saved in the local disk. For this, I have an RFC which will store the document in Portal Server KM folder and will give the file name for web dynpro app. The web dynpro app will search the KM Directory, and will enable the user to save the file on the local disk.
Is it right approach? Is there any other approaches which would be efficient. BTW, I have files from 4k to 12k size. Can I directly attach it to the context variable and store it directly onto the local disk.
I am running Netweaver2004 SP16. I cant use Input stream, does this affect the performance?.

you have the name and the full path of the file you can access the file through FILE IO as the file is on portal server only and then you can use the File Download UI in web dynpro to download the file

IPhone no longer connects to my computer over local network through apps

I've been trying to fix this for months. I've worked with technology and Apple computers for three years. I am by no means an expert but you can believe me when I say I've tried all the basics.
I first noticed the problem using FullControl. I liked to use this first thing in the morning. One morning it wouldn't connect, "Error: Connection error (22)." I hadn't updated or changed anything. I actually put my computer to sleep the night before using the app! I was on the local network. My computer was running the helper. My computer was showing up as a device in the app. But it would not connect. I figured something was wrong with the app.
So I opened up Splashtop 2. My iMac showed up in my list but with a satelite icon informing me it was not connecting on the local network. I was still on my wifi as was my computer. I used it earlier that week.
I checked out the support pages for both apps. I updated everything. I turned off, on, and checked the connections for my firewall. I turned off my security applications and followed guides to remedy blocks they might cause. Nothing worked.
I checked Apple discussions and found people having similar issues but no one had a fix. A few found success but nothing worked for me.
A few days later I went to use my Remote app. My iTunes Library showed up in the local devices but it would not connect, "Remote can't connect to your iTunes library. Check your network settings and try again." I checked. Tried again. "Could not find [my] Library." I went back to the devices and connected to my Apple TV 2 instantly. I tried connecting my iMac with the Apple TV and found no issues. Each communicated with the other fine. I tried to connect Remote to my iTunes again but it failed.
I verified and repaired my permissions. I thought the "SUID... ARDAgent.app... [permission] has been modified and will not be repaired" could've been the problem but Apple and these Discussions assure me that this is normal and not a problem.
I recently downloaded Air Playit and ran into the same problem. I set it up on my computer following the instructions. I opened the app. The app showed my computer as a "Computer on Local Network" but when I tried to connect to server, "Connect Server Failed: Cannot connect the server, check the IP, Port and try again." I did and it didn't connect.
Save for this new app, everything worked before. Nothing has worked since that morning FullContol failed (including the new app).
Is there an answer out there?!

Intego's VirusBarrier X6 was blocking my iPhone's connection.
I saw that the program was blocking attempts to connect and took the address off the Blocked list. I instantly connected through everything again. It turned out to be a major oversight and easy fix!
If anyone else is having similar issues, check your AntiVandal software and make sure your devices are not being blocked.

And i need to load these only ''20141029'' files only.
How can i do this in SSIS packege i need to skip rest all the files.

ESSO delete local cache in Citrix Server

I would to know when configuring the ESSO in the Citrix server, why do I need to enable the "Delete local cache"? Any problem if I disallow to delete local cache in the Citrix server?

it has to do with the citrix server being a shared system. You should also be enabling an option to store local cache in memory only as well. I'm not sure as to the exact reason, but I do know it doesn't seem to function properly when those settings are not set as recommended.

How to send pdf files from local dir through emails attachments

I have some pdf documents in some directory, I want to send those pdf's as an attachment throu emails to the concerned person.
Please let me know how to attach the files and send through email.

You are using Forms 4.5, which is a client/server configuration. When you create a pdf file, the file has to be written to a directory that is accessible from your PC. D:\ is acessible, /tmp/ not (that is a directory on some Unix server). If you want to write files to a Unix server, you have to set up Samba and map a drive from your PC to he Unix directory.
Since you are creating multiple pdf files, you will have to wait until all reports are finished and mail them afterwards. You can create a batch script to mail the files.

Queries with attributes not opening through Citrix.

Hi.
Our users use Citrix to remotely logon to their system. They use SAP GUI 6.20.
When they remotely use Citrix and run BEx (thorugh RRMX), and try to open a query having attributes in the rows, it gives them (eventually us also) multiple errors.
First, a "Program Error Intercepted" window, saying "An unexpected type mismatch error occured in wdbrlog. 1 error is logged". The it asks to type in what we were trying to do.
If we type something, it would take us a new window saying "Run-time error '-2147221499 (80040005)': Fatal Error - Terminating. If we press the OK button underneath, it takes us to another window (saying Microsoft Visual Basic on top and in the body says: "Run-time error '-2147221499 (80040005)", Automation Error : The callee (server [not server application]) is not available and disappeared; all connections are invalid. The call may have executed."
Then it closes the open query window.
Then if we try to open that or any other query, it (as usual) prompt us for the name and password and even if we put the correct name and password, it does not recognize anything. We have to logoff from the Citrix server manually and totally and then only the system works.
We are confused of why this problem should happen and would really appreciate your help.

JDBC thin client downloads locally, not through internet

Using same code, environment, server, etc,:
the thin client will download successfully if the server is accessed as part of the internal network. Access with the server outside the local network (via internet) does not seem to download all the parts of the thin client.
I have tried with the thin client jars (both), and with classess rather than jar (so I can see where it stops).
The environment is O8iEnterprise, NT server4 (SP6), IIS, JRUN 2.3x, IE5, java 1.2x/applets, 1.3 plugin
What am I missing for the internet access setup? Thx.
