  • Business Process Monitoring with SAPCCMSR Agents

    Hi
I have installed a SAPCCMSR Agent in a non-sap system to monitor log files.
This is the configuration about a particularly log file:
    LOGFILE_TEMPLATE
    DIRECTORY="E:\LOG"
    FILENAME="senddata*.txt"
    PATTERN_0="error"
    VALUE_0=RED
    MONITOR_NEWEST_FILES=1
In this folder every day, log are created (with name senddata-DD-MM-YYYY) and I would like to monitor only the last log produced to search for error.
When the agent run, it creates a monitor in rz20 with the name of the current log(for example senddata-08-09-2014).
Tomorrow when a new log will created, the monitor will change its name (for example in senddata-09-09-2014).
I also want use business process monitoring to create a monitor and assign the mte in rz20.
When I choose from a list which monitor assign, it give me the name of the ccms monitor that have the name valid for today(senddata-08-09-2014).
The problem is that tomorrow this MTE will change its name and will invalidate my monitor in bpm.
I tried to insert manually the value in bpm monitor like ...../senddata*/.... to see if dinamically, it will acquire the monitor with the name in rz20.
    But this doesn't work.
Anyone have an idea on how monitor this?
Thanks very much & Best regards
    Marco

    Hi Mark,
When the agent run, it creates a monitor in rz20 with the name of the current log(for example senddata-08-09-2014).
"senddata-08-09-2014 " - Is this the name of your log file created on OS level everyday ?
If yes, then why not after every log switch after end of day, a file with name sendata replaces its old content with the contents of current logs ?
This "replacing" is scheduled to run every 5 mins from OS level(cron script) and it picks the name of the file using current date method ?
In this was you will have your monitor with same name.

in services sapccmsr agent is registerd and started but it is immediatly stopping. as per note 883361 i have executed Agent for J2EE and TREX instances:
sapccmsr pf=<instance profile> -j2ee -initshm but still we have same problem.

I am on a different release, and you might have checked this already, but anyhow, you might want to check filesystem permissions again:
    drwxrwxr-x  root                  sapsys  /usr/sap/tmp
    -rwxr-xr-x   <SAPSID>adm  sapsys sapccm4x
and you should start agent as <SAPSID> user.
You can check permissions of your shared memory segments with:
    ipcs -m
command. Just run it as root from shell.
If you want you might consider removing and reinitiating memory segment (but do this only after you are sure that that memory segment is not used any more!) or - just reboot.

  • SAPCCMSR agent gets status SHUTDOWN

    All,
I have installed the monitoring package for SAP Business Connector (on AIX) to facilitate monitoring of the SAP BC. This uses a SAPCCMSR agent which runs on the SAP BC machine, collects data, and sends this to the SAP Monitoring system CCMS. This works fine. However, when our SAP Monitoring system is stopped & started, the monitoring agent gets the status SHUTDOWN and no more data is recieved in SAP (altough the agent remains active on the SAP BC server). In order to get the monitoring working again I have to perform a manual connection test of the agent in RZ21.
Does anyone know if there is any way of keeping the connection alive when the monitoring SAP system is stopped, or if the checking of the connection in RZ21 can be automated?
    Thanks.

    Hi Amrendra,
Thanks for your response. The step 2 is what I am referring to as the action I would like to have automated. The agent has the status SHUTDOWN after stopping & starting the SAP system. Performing the connection test manually sets the status to ONLINE again and activates the monitoring again in CCMS. This I would like to know if it can be automated.

  • SAPCCMSR agent running in server with several DB Services

    Hi!
We have several Solaris clusters with 2 ORACLE and SAP instances.
I've tried to install sapccmsr agent for DB instances, but I can only
have one at a time. Otherwise it gives the following message:
"INFO: Reconnected to Monitoring Segment [SAP_CCMS_XXXXXXXX_dbi], size
    [40141728], started at Mon Oct 13 16:18:03 2008
ERROR: Monitoring segment belongs to system K02
CCMS Agent SAPCCMSR may only be run for segments
that belong to central system L02
           Therefore exiting....
In this cluster I have P02 (SAP R/3 4.7 NUC) and X02 systems (SAP XI 3.0UC).
I tried to register only one sapccmsr agent but not attached to the
virtual DB hostname. But this brings a new problem, I cannot monitor DB
service because the agent is attached to physical host.
In another cluster we have different SAP Basis versions, SAP nw2004(nuc) and nw2004s (uc).
    Regards,
    Fernando Figueiredo

For one of our clusters running 2 oracle intances on node1 and SAP on node2, I've created a specific profile  with a virtual hostname(<VIRTUAL SAPCCMSR>), and during registration I've included both systems plus Solution Manager. Then on each system I've changed the program ID of SAPCCMS.<VIRTUAL DB HOSTNAME>.99 to <VIRTUAL SAPCCMSR>.sapccmsr.99.
You can use sap note 536954 as reference, but not as a solution.
Anyway you still have the problem because you need to manage this manually and is node specific. If you want to change your cluster behavior then you have problems.
Regarding the other cluster running different versions that is not an issue because ORACLE and SAP are crossed between nodes. On that cluster I've implemented SAPCCMSR clustered aware, but if one node fails you cannot monitor both systems. You can also use note 536954 as a reference.
Anyway... SAPCCMSR monitoring for Standalone database is very limited.

  • SAPCCMSR agent installation and integration with threshold values

    Hi!
I have successfully configured CCMS monitoring for ABAP stack.
Now I consider to monitor the J2EE stack.
    My questions:
Is there some suitable documentation for:
    - set up of SAPCCMSR agent
    - integration of threshold values for the SAPCCMSR
How much effort should be investigated for the these actions?
Any helpful information will be appreciated

  • CCMS configuration question - more than one sapccmsr agent on one server

    Hello all,
this might be a newbie question, please excuse:
We have several SAP systems installed on AIX in several LPARs. SAP aplication server and SAP database is always located in different LPARs, but one LPAR can share application server of several SAP systems or databases of several SAP systems.
So I want to configure SAPOSCOL and CCMS-Agents (sapccmsr) on our databse LPARS. SAPOSCOL is running - no problem so far. Due to the circumstance that we have DBs for SAP systems with kernel 4.6d, 6.40 (nw2004), 7.00 (nw2004s) I want to use two different CCMS-Agents (Version 6.40 non-unicode to connect to SAP 4.6d and 6.40 + Version 7.00 unicode to connect to SAP 7.00).
AFAIK only one of these can use shared memory segment #99 (default) - the other one has to be configured to use another one (e.g. #98) but I don't know how (could'nt find any hints on OSS + Online Help + CCMs-Agent manual).
    Any help would be appreciated
    regards
    Christian

    Hello,
has really no one ever had this kind of problem? Do you all use either one (e.g. windows) server for one application (e.g. SAP application or database) or the same server for application and database? Or don't you use virtual hostnames (aliases) for your servers, so that in all mentioned cases one CCMS-Agent on one server would fit your requirements? I could hardly believe that!
    kind regards

  • Registering a CCMS Agent SAPCCMSR (Double-Stack)

    Hello,
In our landscape, we are implementing the Central Monitoring System (CEN) functionality on NW2004s system.
    Here are the landscape details:
F41 Instance - Dual Stack (ABAP + JAVA)
    R3H - ABAP Stack
    F31 - JAVA Statck
What we are trying to accomplish is, we would like to go-ahead and use the F41 ABAP instance as a Central Monitoring system.
    Here is my question:
    1. ABAP Instance F41 is a CEN. By default, I am able to see the F41 ABAP performance stats under ST03G transaction code.
If I want to monitor the Java Stack of instance F41, do I have to register the F41 JAVA stack using the agent SAPCCMSR?
or I should see the F41 JAVA stack stats with out making any settings/registration???
    I really appreciate your response.
    Thank you,
    Nikee

    Hi Srinikesh Cheella,
You must register the sapccmsr agent in Visual Administrator. The procedure is given on the SAP Help Portal at the following address:

In that case you should install the sapccmsr agent (as well).
