Conerting .rm/.ram to IPOD/mpeg/avi

Hi everyone I've been looking for some time now and I have been unable to find an application that will convert my .rm/.ram Real Media files into any other format Mpeg4 or even mpeg. If you are aware of any converters that can convert Real Media files to any other format (.avi, .mpeg, .mov I dont care) please reply and give a link if possible. Thanks for any help.

H264 MPEG AVI import video timeline problem

Hi,
I am a new user of Adobe Premiere CS4. I am having a problem of importing H264 MPEG AVI files. I set my project to be HDV 720p 30fps. I grabbed Gspot and it has identify my video is a H264 codec name H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. When I import the video I setup the timeline and when I do a playback review in the far left window (default setting). It play the vido super fast, but the audio is playing normally. I zoom in the timeline and it seems to think each second is one frame. So it is playing the video like 30x speed(not 100% on how much faster, just lot). What am I doing wrong?
After playing around some more, it looks like the video are keyframes as the time jump from frame to frame is huge, not what it look like in a WMP. Did I somehow imported and it stripped out the deltas?

I looked at the thread and tried it, I get this error.

I did not use the 32 bit one, but the 64bit. I will try the 32bit one now. Neither one worked. I also went back to an older build that maybe got farther but still failed somewhere else.

All formats not possible you would require a very large number of codecs .
Mpeg has many formats and AVI is only a container not a format .

like most of the programs quit's unexpectedly. some programs does not work on it. like adobe cs5 is not working. everytime time when i do click on adobe cs 5 icon it shows a message "To open “Adobe Photoshop CS5,” you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.To install a Java SE 6 runtime later, open “Adobe Photoshop CS5” again" while i always remain connected on the net.

it sounds like a fualty installation of Lion, this may happen from time to time.
The best thing to do in this situation is to reinstall Lion. You will not loose anything doing this, but you should always keep back ups of your information.

basically hold Cmd+R on boot..
first go to disk utility, verify and repair your disks and permissions. Exit out of Disk utility and then go directly to "reinstall Lion"
choose that and let it reinstall.
Adobe CS6 does need Java to run.
To play your movies you might need to get an application called VLC. VLC is a free app and will play most videos and music files you throw into it.

No, the iPod can't play AVI files.
Since you're on a Mac, you can use iSquint. It's as easy as it gets.

Burning Mpegs & AVI Files to DVD

I have some mpegs and an avi file I'd like to burn to DVD. I am using Toast 7 Titanium to burn them to DVD.
When I go to burn the files to DVD, I get a warning message that says "You are about to create a disc with mixed PAL and NTSC content. Are you sure you want to do this? (Discs with mixed content may not play on all players.)". When I click OK, Toast enventually crashes while encoding the files.
I have tried running the files through DivX, but ended up with poor quality files with no sound. Do I need to do a conversion prior to burning? Should I tried try another application to burn my DVD? Any input would be helpful.

Toast will certainly do it and other options include ffmpegx and MPEG2 Works 4, though that is a commercial app and you'll also need to pay for the QuickTime MPEG-2 Component from Apple.
ffmpegx allows more configurability but is also, therefore, a little more complicated. In my experience the greatest problem you're likely to face is losing sync between the audio and video, though this is correctable with ffmpegx, if a little convoluted.

Can't import any files; mpeg, avi

I'm trying to make a megamix video of various pop vids but it won't let me import any files - it lets me select them such as mpeg, mpeg that can only be played on VLC too, avi but then it says can't import - one message did say /2048.
Can I only use .mov files?
I haven't bought that Quicktime plugin thing either - don't really agree with that to be honest!

as I wrote: iM is meant to work with miniDV camcoders.. you try something different: import NOT from camera. AND with a different "standard", as "opening a Photoshop-file with Word"...- that needs some process called conversion... into "dv", which is iM's and your camcorders standard...-
try one of the tools I listed above to convert your avi... avi is just a socalled container (as in the Mac world .mov), it can contain many media... stills, music, videos, in many different "standards", so nobody can tell you from remote, how to convert your specific .avi... mostly, these "from friends/iNet"- avis are mpeg1 or mpeg2 coded... mp1 can be converted for free with Steamclip; mpeg2 needs special treatment, use tryout of DVDxDV...
it also can contain divx or some compression-flavors, never seen before...

Unfortunately you cannot. RealMedia (.rm, .ram) is a proprietary format - only works with Real Player.

Hello,
I've created an adobe AIR application which currently
utilizes the flv playback component.
What I would like to know is, is it possible to somehow add
functionality to play other types of video such as mpeg2 and avi as
well as flv.
I would love to extend it in this way but i first need to

hi, for your situation, you would expect a video converter software, to convert avi or mpeg to flash video (.flv) for web. You probably know that there are plenty of free video converter out online. like Sothink Free Video Converter which I used for while, and I am sure it supports FLV video conversion. you could have a try.

The iPod Touch 4G is supposed to have 256MB of Ram, but mine can barely reach 90.

The apps tell you how much free RAM you have, not how much total physical RAM the iPod has.
