Conexant Audio Driver

Has Anybody installed the Conexant Audio Driver Update 4.98.12.0 What is it's effect on the X505-Q850 ?

found it on toshiba drivers update site and secondly i used a third party software called Driver detective and it still found it as an update for Q850 but i'm a bit unsure of its effect because of the previous effect of the last BIOS Update from Toshiba.

  • G510 Windows 8.1 Pro X64 Conexant Audio Driver Error and Driver Update Request

When are we to expect some updates in the drivers for G510, specifically for both graphics (Intel and AMD)
Also I am using G510S's Lenovo Power Management for Windows 8.1(running with no issues) as Windows 8 version was not compatible and there is no Win8.1 version.
And there is an update available for Conexant Audio in windows update and after the update when ever I play music, a few seconds in the Audio Device stops(a red cross on volume icon) and then troubleshooter automatically runs and fixes the audio device and audio comes back.
Also I would like to request that you bring back Dobly Advanced Audio v2 that was available with WINDOWS 8 version of the driver. It was just much more convienient and I liked its graphics equilizer much better.

  • G510 - conexant audio driver update won't install - no sound

I have a Lenovo G510 running windows 8.1 64 bit, bought about 6 weeks ago. Installed windows updates on 18 August, including an optional driver update for the Conexant SmartAudio HD, and now there is no sound.
There is an exclamation mark next to the device in device manager and an error code for the driver that (until today) states 'Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)'. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling many many times, including downloading the driver from the Lenovo website and using the driver from the D drive, with the same error:
Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
    Conexant SmartAudio HD
Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)
I also tried doing a system restore to before the update but this failed with the message 'access denied'. After spending hours trying to find a fix I discovered that the driver update in question is still listed in windows update (now as 'important'). So I've downloaded and installed and restarted several times but still with the same error message, and the update is still listed in windows update. Update history states the audio device update was successful - every time I've downloaded and installed it - however it is not listed in 'installed updates'. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the other updates I originally installed on the 18 August.
Today, 22 August I tried uninstalling and reinstalling again and now the error message has changed to:
Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
    Conexant SmartAudio HD
This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
The events tab in device manager shows a list stating 'device installed' over and over. The information for the most recent event is as follows:
Driver Management concluded the process to install driver g13plmwa.inf_amd64_007bf12cd0f50a21\g13plmwa.inf for Device Instance ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5115&SUBSYS_17AAC041&REV_1001\4&2426718C&0&0001 with the following status: 0x0.
I don't really know how to read all the info in the details tab but the capabilities property has a value of 00000000 which doesn't sound promising to me!
    Status property reads:
    01802400
    DN_HAS_PROBLEM
    DN_DISABLEABLE
    DN_NT_ENUMERATOR
    DN_NT_DRIVER
    Config flags:
    00000020
    CONFIGFLAG_REINSTALL
Can post more from the details tab if that helps - I'm no techie so don't really know which bits of info are important. Would really appreciate some help here, I've searched and searched for a fix and posted the problem on a couple of other forums with no joy and I'm getting really frustrated with having no **bleep** sound!

Well it turns out that my problem was entirely due to the firewall (ZoneAlarm) I'm running blocking the installation. All I had to do was temporarily disable it (making sure you also disconnect from the internet to avoid any nasties getting through) and reinstall the driver.
Hope that solves your problem too, because I found both Lenovo and Microsoft support to be utterly useless on this. All they could suggest was what I had tried already, and then told me to do a factory reset. Glad I didn't listen and asked a friend who works in IT instead!

  • Dolby Audio driver cannot start after upgrading to Windows 8.1

    Hello.
Windows 8 was the worst thing that happened to Windows, but since I bought this G505s laptop with Win8 pre-installed, i had no other choice to go to. Few days after the purchase, Windows 8.1 arrived and I updated 8 to 8.1 hoping to see some improvements. But to my sadness, 8.1 has ruined my expectations, and Lenovo didn't even care to address the user issues in 8.1
    Here are my Issues :
OneKey Recovery : Updated to 8.xx.xx.xxxx
The OneKey Recovery app tells that 'Current system cannot create a backup'
I can't have a secure laptop without it creating the Recovery !!
Lenovo, please address this issue and fix the OneKey Recovery Problem !!
Dolby audio app : Doesn't open, and if once it starts, cannot configure the Equalizer !

  • [SOLVED]no sound on kernel 3.2.5-1 (alsa /how to patch conexant audio)

    Hello
I'm not sure if I have to post this in Newbie Corner or Multimedia, if I'm false here please move the Topic.
I installed arch yesterday so I'm new to it. My hardware is a Thinkpad Edge e325.
Now to my issue, I cant get my speakers to work.
I've read about a few issues and people sugested to downgrade the kernel but is there any other solution?
I've already checked if alsamixer is unmuted and the only sound I could produce so far is a beep but nothing from vlc, amarok or audacious.
On win 7 I used the Conexant Audio Driver and already found a patch for alsa (http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/) but shame on me, I cant figure out how to install it.
    Hope you can help me.

It seems the default ALSA soundcard is the HDMI output while the "regular" sound chip is recognized as card 1.
    From blog.
Google for changing the default soundcard.

  • Dolby Audio Driver stopped working

I've been using my IdeaPad for a few months, and all of the sudden it no longer plays the audio in any of my downloaded files.  It'll play audio in other contexts, like if I watch a video on YouTube--but not on anythign that I've downloaded.  And when I restart my comptuer, it tells me that the Dolby audio driver isn't working.  It doesn't tell me which driver it's talking about.  I believe the driver was the Home Theater v4, but I could be wrong.  I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, restarted my computer, and it's still giving me the same error message every time:  Dolby audio driver isn't starting.  What should I do?

Uninstall the Conexant audio driver (don't select the option to remove the files though) and restart - this will cause Windows to reinstall the driver during the restart.  Alternatively download the Conexant audio driver from the Lenovo drivers page and install it. Either of these two methods work fine.
This should fix the Dolby problem.

  • Need help with the T400 audio driver.

I recently purchased a refurbished T400 (type 6475-GS6) at a great price.  I've installed XP 64, downloaded then installed all, or what I thought was everything from the Lenovo web site.
But for the life of me, I can't install the Conexant audio driver because the device driver installation wizard can't find the device for the driver.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks in advance for your time and help.
