Conexant Audio on dv8226ea with Windows 7

Dear all,
I have the following issue:
I installed Win7 on my dv8226ea with Conexant High Definition Audio, I installed also the driver Conexant 3.40.0.50 (03/05/2007). I'm observing that many times before the audio emission, I'm hearing something like "CLACK" from the speakers, and then I get the sound correctly/perfectly without "clacks".
But why I get these "CLACKs"? Is there a way to remove it? Is there some better drive from HP for Win7?
PS. I observed this same issue when I used Kubuntu with this same PC, everytime before the sound I got a "clack".

OpenAL in Audio Creation Mode with Windows 7 (Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic)

I have a problem with my X-Fi in Windows 7 64-bit. ?It's a well known issue, unfortunately -- my audio pops and crackles on and off again. ?I've tried Daniel_K's modified drivers, old and new, and the latest official drivers, but nothing has ever fixed it...
...except ONE workaround. ?For some reason, enabling Bit-Matched Playback in Audio Creation Mode removes the popping and crackling.
Which brings me to my question -- in Windows 7, does OpenAL in games basically work the same in Audio Creation Mode as it does in Game ModeThat is, are all the audio effects like the reverb, 3D positioning, etc. still in full effect in Windows 7's OpenAL, regardless of the 'mode' you have the Xi-Fi set to?
Now, I know that in Windows XP, this wasn't true... in Audio Creation Mode you lost support for EAX 4 and 5 in games, and hardware accelerated OpenAL lost audio effects like the reverb and such. ?If you wanted full-featured hardware accelerated OpenAL, you had to use Game Mode.
But as I understand it, Windows 7 is different, because hardware accelerated OpenAL has been removed from most current generation games, and everything is software-based now. ? Is that correct?
Thus, what it boils down to is that I'm hoping I can use the Bit-Matched Playback in Audio Creation Mode to work-around this pop and crackling sound issue without having to worry about losing OpenAL features in games.

Conexant audio device driver won't install on T510 with windows XP SP2

I am having trouble in installing audio driver for Conexant audio device on an SSD with windows XP SP2 installed already. After running the installer, it tries for a while, and says media device can't be found. But booting from the win7-loaded internal drive, I can see it in the device manager. I also see a few devices like base system device(?) in 'Other devices' category. Could you help me get audio on the windows XP?

Thank you very much for your reply that led me to helpful information. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the issue, but I think I'm closer to the resolution of this issue.
So, I believed I installed Intel chip set and power management drivers, but did uninstall and re-install including .NET F/W 3.5. Unfortunately it didn't work.
Your link led to pages of unknown/driver-less drivers and made me check more detail. I had only 2 PCI devices left in 'Other devices' category, so I checked the details of those as below:
1. PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0BE3: I searched this item on the web, finding that the vendor is Nvidia, but could find device 0x0be3.
2. PCI\VEN_8086&DEV3B56: this is vendor Intel, but again no device found. The closest one is SoL device, though.
So, it appears somehow the Conexant audio device is not even in 'Other device' category, and the intaller can't find the device. I wonder if some other driver grabbed this device, so it's not available for driver installation. I will do more investigation, but please help me address this. Thank you again, and in advance.
P.S. : I don't see the SoL driver installed after installing Intel drivers, and there is no 'Ports' category in the device manager, either.

Pavillion dv2000 with Windows 7 - Conexant hd audio

This HP Pavillion dv2000 did not come with Windows 7 when it was purchased, but was upgraded to Windows 7 two years ago.
Recently, Conexant hd audio on this laptop was accidentally deleted.
The downloadable Conexant hd audio on HP support page did not work because they only offer Vista and XP.
(No option to choose for Windows 7 because this laptop is quite a few years old.)
How to fix the problem?

You should probably get a conexant driver update show in windows update.
Also the Vista driver works fine on Windows 7 or at least it has for me on many dv2000 & 6000 series Notebooks (using one now).
If you have any issues just google your notebook model & audio driver for Windows 7 & you should find loads of possible help/solutions.

G510 Windows 8.1 Pro X64 Conexant Audio Driver Error and Driver Update Request

When are we to expect some updates in the drivers for G510, specifically for both graphics (Intel and AMD)
Also I am using G510S's Lenovo Power Management for Windows 8.1(running with no issues) as Windows 8 version was not compatible and there is no Win8.1 version.
And there is an update available for Conexant Audio in windows update and after the update when ever I play music, a few seconds in the Audio Device stops(a red cross on volume icon) and then troubleshooter automatically runs and fixes the audio device and audio comes back.
Also I would like to request that you bring back Dobly Advanced Audio v2 that was available with WINDOWS 8 version of the driver. It was just much more convienient and I liked its graphics equilizer much better.

T420s: Conexant Audio Message Service consumes a lot of CPU time in Windows 8

Hi,
I have here two models of T420s running Windows 7 and Windows 8.
The Windows 7 model is quiet and the Service Needs no cpu time during idle.
The Windows 8 model is noisy (the fan is Spinning) and the Conexant Audio Message Service (Version 1.6.0.0) is consuming 30% of cpu during idle.
Any suggestions?

Pretty sure you can just disable the service. I did on my W520 with no ill effects.

There is probably a red light on inside your headphone port, indicating that the analog/digital switch in there is stuck in the digital position. Insert a headphone plug and wigle it around, especially in the horizontal plane, as you insert and remove it several times. This will usually unstick the switch and restore normal operation. If it doesn't, the machine will need to be repaired.
This has been a fairly common problem, but in most cases it is easily cured as described above.

i have a hp pavilion dv6500 laptop entertainment pc here with me. It came with windows vista but i downgraded to windowx xp pro. it runs alot smoother! Everything works great except one problem? The audiio drivers that the hp websites has does not work? I cannot find the right audio drivers? I have tried even letting windows update search for the drivers with no luck? Why are the drivers on the website not working? How can i get this to work? if i upgrade it to windows 7 can i intergarde the vista drivers to work with the windows 7 program? i really need help! The General XP Downgrade Guide for HP notebooks is what you need to read. This well written guide has helped (at least!!) thousands of forum members downgrade their notebook successfully. There is a section that applies to your notebook.
The issue you are having probably is related to not installing the MSUAA driver before the device specific audio driver.

Protools 8 compatiblity with Windows Vista and which proper audio interface?

O K i have a compaq presario pc notebook with a cpu of 2.16 ghz and 160 gb(?) hard drive with 32 bit w/ Window Vista service pack 1. I've done a little research and it seems my computer may be compatible but i'm not sure Is ne one using pt 8 with windows vista with no problems? also i'm not so sure about which audio interface i should be using psi, firewire,or usb even though i have 2 usb ports im hearing its not the best choice dealing with latency and all. Is ne one using pt 8 with window vista using a usb audio interface or even firewire with any problems? thanx hope to hear from you soon!!!!

Well my take would be that your rig would run Pro Tools 8 but you might struggle with the latency a bit. I ran Pro Tools LE on a PC (with significantly lower specs than yours since it was 3 years old at the time) with a Digi 002 as my firewire interface and I did have issues with latency, which is my biggest pet peeve. That was also on the XP Operating System so you might be better off with Vista SP1. I would recommend going with the Digi 003 via firewire and maxing out your RAM for best results. USB would definitely be slower and might be a cause for latency if you run into it.
That's my opinion. Digidesign has a pretty in-depth site for making sure your system will run Pro Tools. I'm sure you've already checked it out but just in case:

I am running windows 8.1 (64 bit) on my laptop and recently purchased the HP Wireless Audio streamer. I was unable to install the software off the disc as it is not compatible with Windows 8.1. Any solutions? Please keep it simple as I am a rather lowtech person. Thanks.

FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1

FMLE 3.2 and 3.1 can't detect an audio device with Windows 8.1 x64 on an MSI GT72-2QD laptop. I tried 2 different webcams but the result was the same. Both the internal mic and the ones going with the webcams work fine with other software but when I try FMLE it looks as follows:
It says that there's no audio device connected (although the mics work fine elsewhere), the dropout is blank and the audio parameters are grayed out and inactive even with the "audio" box checked. Both versions of FMLE work fine with the same cams on a desktop which has all the same tech specs but uses Win 7 x64. Running FMLE in Win7 compatibility mode or reinstalling with register cleaning doesn't help. What can be done about it?

Thanks for the advice. It succeeded.
The steps I made was to make a disk copy of my original Windows XP disk using Disk Utilty. Then I renamed the disk copy into .iso. I copied the ISO file to my usb flash drive.
Than I started Parallels 7, created a new VM, selected the correct drive to install from (the usb flash drive) and volia, it worked.

HP Pavilion DV5000 : Conexant Audio HD sound not working after upgrade XP to Windows 7

On HP support site there are no drivers for Windows 7 for Conexant Audio HD soundcard in HP Pavilion DV5000.
Have tried installing Vista drivers in stead, does not work.
Have tried renaming unzipped Vista files to camcaud.sys & camchal.sys and copied them into Windows/System32/Drivers and reboot, does not work.This is the only solution I found after reading forums for several hours, but does not work.
Would very much appreciate help.

How do you uninstall Bonjour programme while tryying unistall and re-install as per instruction from Apple while to get audio function back in my PC with Windows 7 following first attempt resulting in failure to install quicktime, please? maybe your spdif default properties, in the supported format tab, options there are configured too high for your revceiver???
is there an error code on your receiver? if there is an error code check the troubleshooting section in the manual your receiver came with.
you could also try in windows media center, go to the tasks->settings and click windows media center setup->setup your speakers for 5.1 and hit the test button..
