Conf. Control key and ASN

Dear Experts,
Can you explain the step by step process of the standard ASN creation, confirmation and goods reciept in SAP?
I am confused between AS & LA conf. control keys and goods receipt and inbound delivery steps.
1. I have defined confirmation control in SPRO.
1. PO is created.
2. Vendor confirms they can deliver qty X on date ABC. This will be recorded as conf. key AB in the PO.
3. The day the vendor ships the goods from their location, i will have an Idoc update the PO with a conf. key of AS. is this the standard correct step or do i need to update with an LA here? please clarify??
4. Goods arrive at our facility. Here, should i process the goods with a standard goods reciept using MIGO or use VL31N to create inbound delivery and then do post goods reciept? Please clarify??
So...my question is..when do i use VL31N and do post goods reciept  and when do i use MIGO and create standard goods reciept. Even if an inbound delivery is created automatically by EDI and if i do GR using MIGO, then the inbound delivery remains open? so what is the use of the inbound delivery?
What is the functionality of confirmation control key AS?
What is the functionality of conf. control key LA?
Please clarify.

Thank you for the response.
please ignore my statement about conf. key "AS". Can you describe the process of ASN and clarify my other questions?
Thanks

    where GRs should be allowed only based on ASN (INB) Del.
    How to restrict GR via MIGO when confirmation control key is set?

    ideally it should work, however check Conformation Control Key LA.
    Confirmation sequence " GR relevant " and GR assignemnt is checked or not, in SPRO > MM> Purchasing --> Confirmations --> Set up confirmation control.

    I am using Photoshop CS5 on a new iMac with a wireless keyboard.  I used to be able to hit F11 to perform a custom sharpening action but now the F11 key is the volume control key and I have tried everything to disable or switch the volume key. I have also tried assigning other function keys to initiate the action. Is there a simple solution to this? What am I missing?

    Try unmounting the volume on your iMac using Disk Utility. Then mount it again. You may need to reboot the laptop or relaunch its Finder process (using the Force Quit window) after remounting the drive on your iMac. Remember that no process may be accessing any files on the drive you plan to unmount, or the unmount will fail. Unmounting and remounting an external drive on my iMac made it become visible on my MacBook Pro after it had disappeared.

  • Conf Control Key

    Hi Experts
    I have a requirement to implement Conf Control key in only one of the Plant.
    What are all the factors to be considered before going for it ? What are all the Impacts of it ?

    Hi,
    The confirmation control key usage is not at the plant level.  It is always used if you would like to take an advantageous use of the standard vendor confirmation functionality.  As soon as the related setting in configuration (under IMG ---> Material Management --> Purchasing ---> Confirmations ...) is made properly, you can be able to use it.  However, you should bear in mind that this vendor confirmation feature is used when you would like to monitor the status of your shipment after PO is sent.  This is normally put in use together with expediting feature where SAP will enable you to generate dunning/reminder letters if the vendor fails to either acknowledge receipt of your PO or make on time delivery.  In addition, once this feature is utilized, make sure the related confirmation control key shall be maintained in the PO before posting GR.

  • Reinstall, zsh, control key and rxvt

    I have recently reinstalled my OS from scratch. While I have my original files, I have not migrated them in any manner. One of the downfalls of this is my zsh config -- much of which I had set and have now forgotten.
    I prefer rxvt in X11 to the terminal -- but my control key doeesn't map to "control" as it once did. Where to look to fix?
    Thanks,
    Kyle

    Hi Kyle,
       I must confess that I'm confused. I can reproduce your problem but I don't understand. However, I've done a lot of testing and I'm going to post everything I found in hopes that we can get others to join in.
       You've come to the right place. You're using zsh-templates, a Fink package of zsh startup scripts of Bill Scott's, who's on this list. Also, I've been given a lot of blame for corrupting his life in this way so we virtually have to help you; we've gotta lot to own up for.
       Here's what I did to get some info. I opened several terminals, both X11 terminals and Apple's Terminal.app, and for each, I opened it with and without my startup scripts. (mine are much like Bill's) The results were quite surprising to me. I should mention that I'm using the latest zsh-4.3.4.
       The first oddity may just be a problem with my system at the moment. The oddity is that all shells that I open in Apple's Terminal are login shells. Currently, /dev/ttyp0 is a secure shell login while usually it is the first Terminal window I open. I don't know if that's a factor and I don't know if that's typical behavior but I have to mention it as it could have something to do with the second oddity.
       The second oddity is that no part of my environment is inherited by new shells opened in Apple's Terminal. That could be because these shells are all login shells or it simply could be because the new terminals are not invoked as children of the original shell. These oddities may provide a clue as to what's happening but don't speak directly to the issue.
       Here's what I found out about use of the command key. If I invoke a shell with my startup scripts available, I can use the command key under all circumstances. However, when I move the master startup script, (so no startup scripts are sourced) a new shell in Apple's Terminal has no environment but the command key works as expected. In X11, I invoked xterm, Eterm and rxvt from an Eterm with full environment and in each the new shell had an environment but control characters were not interpreted as special. They are included in the command as if they had been quoted with <Control>-v. Thus, the terminal appears to be processing the key events correctly but the shell is behaving differently. At least on my machine this appears to be an issue with zsh and not with X11 or the terminals. On your system are the control characters included in the command? That would seem to be a very import clue.
       The reason that I tested shells without an environment is because your ~/.xinitrc doesn't help. It sources Bill's alias file but not the rest of the scripts. Of course you shouldn't need that as each new shell should pick up a full environment before you use it and that is one thing that seems to be failing.
       Do you have your own shell startup scripts? What scripts are in Bill's /sw/share/zsh/templates/Library/init/zsh directory? Bill's start up scripts come with a zshrc script which can be moved to ~/.zshrc. That script orchestrates the execution of the others so putting that in place would get you the full environment. That file is probably in a /sw/share/zsh/templates/etc directory. Try sourcing that file in the command line of a zsh shell in an X11 terminal for which the control key is not working as expected.

  • What am I doing to make my screen zoom in while I  am using my mouse?  It zooms to about double size, and using the control key and mouse will not return it to its former size.

    When I am searching the internet and using my mouse, my screen will suddenly zoom in to about double size.  Clicking control and mousing will not return it back to where it was.  I have no idea what I am doing to cause this to happen or how to reverse it.

    Hi.
    If you're using a Magic Mouse, a double tap on the mouse with one finger will zoom.
    Double tap again to unzoom.

    Hi guys,
    I am trying to default the conf control keey 0004 (inbound delivery) for UB STO.
    Our process is to cretae STR then automatically convert them into STO.
    When Create a PIR for STO with conf contrl key and you refer this PIR into your STO it will bring the conf control key 004.
    But now the question is how do I default this PIR into the STO??? keep in mind that it is a UB type ...

    Hi,
    I did assign the conf ctrl key in the vendor (supplying plant) it s actually not defaulting in the STO.

  • Detect Control-Plus and Control-Minus

    Hi,
    I want to detect keyboard events in a swing application, with the Control key and the '+' or '-' keys pressed (the ones from the keyboard, not from the numpad).
    This is to provide similar behaviour than Firefox for increasing and decreasing the font size.
    I have an English keyboard, in which + is with = key, to be pressed with shift, and - can be pressed directly, without shift.
    I've tried many ways to achieve this behaviour, but have not succeeded yet.
    Platform is Java SE 1.6.0_07 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 with Gnome.
    import static java.awt.event.InputEvent.*;
    import static java.awt.event.KeyEvent.*;
    import static javax.swing.KeyStroke.getKeyStroke;
    // Within some method in some class...
    KeyStroke ctrlPlus, ctrlMinus;
    // Menu items seem correct, but none of the combinations work for me
    ctrlPlus  = getKeyStroke(Character.valueOf('+'), CTRL_DOWN_MASK); // menu item shows Ctrl-+
    ctrlMinus = getKeyStroke(Character.valueOf('-'), CTRL_DOWN_MASK); // menu item shows Ctrl--
    // Menu items seem a bit strange; Ctrl - works, but Ctrl + doesn't
    ctrlPlus  = getKeyStroke(VK_PLUS , CTRL_DOWN_MASK); // menu item shows Ctrl-Plus
    ctrlMinus = getKeyStroke(VK_MINUS, CTRL_DOWN_MASK); // menu item shows Ctrl-Minus
    // None of these combinations work
    ctrlPlus  = getKeyStroke("control +"); // menu item shows nothing
    ctrlMinus = getKeyStroke("control -"); // menu item shows nothingIt seems I can get the desired behaviour with '+' and '-' of the numpad, but:
    1. They are more weird than the normal '+' and '-' keys, which are the ones used by Firefox
    2. The menu items show Ctrl-Numpad + and Ctrl-Numpad - as shortcuts, which are weird also
    3. Not all keyboards have a numpad.
    A solution would be very much appreciated... as well as rewarded with the dukes.

    KeyStroke.getKeyStroke(KeyEvent.VK_EQUALS, KeyEvent.SHIFT_DOWN_MASK | KeyEvent.CTRL_DOWN_MASK)This works indeed with CTRL_DOWN_MASK alone (not tested with the other mask), thanks.
    However, this solution has two drawbacks:
    1. The accelerator string is shown as Ctrl-=, while I want Ctrl-+ to be shown
    2. '+' key may not coincide with '=' in non-English keyboards (e.g. it doesn't coincide in Spanish keyboards)
    I've found a solution that required a bit more work:
    1. Create the actions with the keyStroke you want to be shown (in my case, Ctrl-- and Ctrl-+):
    ctrlPlus  = getKeyStroke("ctrl typed +");  // Ctrl-+ is shown
    ctrlMinus = getKeyStroke("ctrl typed -");  // Ctrl-- is shown
    Action actionPlus = new AbstractAction() { ... };
    actionPlus.setAccelerator(ctrlPlus);
    Action actionMinus = new AbstractAction() { ... };
    actionMinus.setAccelerator(ctrlMinus);2. Bind the keys you actually want to the corresponding action:
    JComponent window = ...;  // root window
    InputMap inputMap = window.getInputMap(JComponent.WHEN_IN_FOCUSED_WINDOW);
    ActionMap actionMap = window.getActionMap();
    Object actionMapKeyPlus  = "ctrl+";
    Object actionMapKeyMinus = "ctrl-";
    inputMap.put(getKeyStroke(VK_EQUALS  , CTRL_DOWN_MASK), actionMapKeyPlus);  // + key in English keyboards
    inputMap.put(getKeyStroke(VK_PLUS    , CTRL_DOWN_MASK), actionMapKeyPlus);  // + key in non-English keyboards
    inputMap.put(getKeyStroke(VK_ADD     , CTRL_DOWN_MASK), actionMapKeyPlus);  // + key on the numpad
    inputMap.put(getKeyStroke(VK_MINUS   , CTRL_DOWN_MASK), actionMapKeyMinus); // - key
    inputMap.put(getKeyStroke(VK_SUBTRACT, CTRL_DOWN_MASK), actionMapKeyMinus); // - key on the numpad
    actionMap.put(actionMapKeyPlus, actionPlus);
    actionMap.put(actionMapKeyMinus, actionMinus);More complicated than expected, but at least works.
    Thanks for the help.
    God bless,

  • Control Key/Mouse Selecting

    I've recently updated my OS X software to 10.4.8 and have noticed a bug with the update. When trying to "label" a folder or item with a particular colour using the "Control" key and mouse combination, the usual drop down menu that should come up no longer does and the screen flips out as if the finder has been relaunched. I now have to go to the "File" menu to select the "Label" selections. I've run a diagnostic; permission repair and disk repair with everything being OK. This bug applies to all user accounts, and other iMacs that have been updated. Can't say how it applies to laptops or towers.
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    You have a bad contextual menu item. Maybe some previously installed extension that is not compatible with 10.4.8
    Look in the "Contextual Menu Items" folder in "Library" at the top level of your disk.

  • Has anyone else had a control key act stuck?

    I couldn't type in my password the other day after some basic trouble shooting and calling Apple everyone was at their wits end.  Then I saw it, in the lower left of safari in the grey boarder it said "display a menu" a quick search on my phone showed me it was the control key.  After tapping this key a few times it went away. I currently have changed in the modifier keys section of the keyboard so caps lock is the control key and the control key functions are controlled by the caps lock.  interesting thing is that caps lock isn't on all the time, i.e. just like how the control key was acting.  I can't feel anything under the key, nothing has been spilled, the key works fine as CAPS LOCK, its just when the control is assigned to do control functions and only then, even assigning no action to it works.  should i reinstall the last update? should I reinstall the OS? I did a time machine back up too, that didn't fix it.

    Does it really matter whether anyone else has? If you have, that's a problem for you whether or not anyone else has experienced the same issue. Call Apple tech support or take the iPad to an Apple Store, if there's one in your area, and they'll replace the iPad unless it's determined that the problem was caused by some sort of accident rather than a factory defect.

  • Auto GR with Control Key or Prod.Scheduling Profile

    Hi PP champs
    As we can use both i.e. Control key and Production scheduling profile for activating the Auhto GR for prodcution order confirmation ..Can some one help me which is the more <b>preferred</b> or  which is considered first by the system if we have both in <b>material master and routings respectively</b>.
    I have gone thru the documentation but couldn't get clearity as in both its mentioned as if its not activated in scheduling profile control key will take over and same thing for control key that if its not mentioned in control key system will check for production scheduling profile...
    BR
    Sumit

    Sumit,
    Generally Production scheduling profile is the prefered option, as most of the clients also prefer using to control certain auotmation at the time of order creation and release.
    To me i dont see a big difference between using control key or scheduling profile to define auto GR.
    As far as priority is concerned Control key is first checked by the system, if not available checks for scheduling profile.
