Conference room resource permissions Outlook 2013

I set room resources to auto accept/decline with author permissions. I want to keep permissions where the delegates can only create and edit their own meetings.  Is there a way for email notifications of accepted/declined meetings and accepted/declined
bookings for the rooms? I also want the meetings to show up in the author's personal calendar.

What version, service pack and update rollup version of Exchange?
Folder rights are distinct from autoacceptance capabilities.
You are welcome to investigate the behavior of conference room moderation, which is kind of what you want, but not exactly.  Here's the documentation for Exchange 2010.

  • Conference Room Direct Boking - Tracking

Hello, is there a way to view who created a meeting in a shared calendar via directly booking?
By direct book I mean: User opens up the conference room calender in Outlook and books a meeting directly into it.  So when someone views the details of the meeting in the room calendar all they see in the schedule assistant is the room name.

    Hi,
As Andy suggested, you can check the meeting organizer. But if there are too many people have full access permission to shared mailbox, I am afraid that you cannot determine who create the meeting on Outlook. You can enable mailbox audit logging to check
    if it can record it.

  • Booking a Exchange 2013 Room Resource Calendar with a mobile device

Can I book a Exchange 2013 Room Resource Calendar using  a mobile device?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that's possible.  Scheduling a room resource requires the Scheduling Assistant functionality, which is only available with Outlook or OWA (full web client, not the Light version).

In Outlook 2013, user clicks "New Meeting" on the right you have the Room Finder. It shows the calendar, below that the Good, Fair and Poor labels, then below that you have the drop down box "Show a room list"
For one user there is no "Show a room list" no dropdown box at all just a grey space. They can see everything else like normal, the labels and the choose an available room...however no "Show a room list" to be able to pick one.

  • Send As Permissions - Exchange 2010 - Outlook 2013

I am currently having an issue with an account. 2 people share an Admin Account inbox, while having their own inbox, Although the Admin mailbox only works in Online
mode or the folders will not update and emails will not come through.
This is not the problem though.
Before today both people were working fine for the last few months. Now User 1 (only user to send as Admin mailbox) can not send as the mailbox, while
in online mode. In cached mode it works fine, however the folders do not work.
When in online mode, i can remove the address from the From: drop down and re-add, however this only works for that email. Sending another email reaches
the same error "you do not have the permission to send as blah blah blah". This is a popup error.
Removing the address and re-adding works every time, however as you can imagine, this is not ideal for the user. In testing I have removed permissions
for send as in EMC but removing the address from the from field and re-adding is still allowing it to send. It seems outlook/exchange is not recognizing the permissions. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?
    Exchange version is 2011
    Outlook version is 2013

In testing I have removed permissions for send as in EMC but removing the address from the from field and re-adding is still allowing it to send. It seems outlook/exchange is not recognizing the
permissions. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?
    Hi,
After removing the permissions in EMC, I suspect it still takes some time to take effect. We can verify this by sending as the Admin mailbox on OWA to check the result. Then wait for some time, send the test email in Outlook again.
This issue is actually opposite to these issues I've seen before: Most other issues are that the user is not able to send as another user in Cached mode, but able to send in Online Mode. Your description kind of implies there's something interfering
with the connection between Outlook and Exchange when Outlook is in Online Mode, please disable all suspicious add-ins in Outlook, especially the anti-spam add-ins provided by the anti-virus program. Then disable the anti-virus program and the firewall temporarily
    to check the result.
As mentioned in your post, this issue is also related to the Auto-Complete List in Outlook, the list may have been corrupted. We can try clearing the list to check if the problem persists:
In Outlook 2013, click FILE -> Options -> Mail -> Send messages -> Click "Empty Auto-Complete List" button -> Yes -> OK.

  • AD RMS 2012 Templates/Permissions [Option] is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device

I have AD RMS 2012 Server, its working fine by applying restricted Templates/Permissions on OWA, Outlook & other MS Office Tools (Word Excel, PowerPoint). But the AD RMS Templates/Permissions [Option] is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows
    8 Mobile Device.
Actually I would like to protect email with RMS templates (defined by me on AD RMS 2012 Server) but the [Permission] tab is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device.
But I can do same with Android OS in Samsung Galaxy Mobile Device & I can see [Permission] tab as well to protect an email messages.
    Any idea??
    Regards,

Currently, you can't use WP 8 to protect docs/emails with ADRMS templates. YOu can however use transport rules on Exchange server side to configure automatic ADRMS protection.

  • KB2956087 changes Outlook 2013 room booking

A few users started to complain they were getting error messages when trying to book meetings in our Room Calendars.
They were using Outlook 2013 in schedule view, where they used to be able to double click in a Room Calendar, and that would automatically open a New Meeting window, with the Room already "invited"
    Like so
With KB 2956087 installed, they got an error message saying
"You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder......."
If you look at the changes in
KB 2956087 , it fixes the following:
When you try to add a new appointment item to a shared calendar by double-clicking a time slot, a meeting item appears instead of an appointment item.
Similarly, when you add a new meeting item to a shared calendar by right-clicking a time slot, and then selecting New Meeting Request, the owner of the shared calendar is added to the To field. This behavior is unexpected.
Unfortunately for our users, this behaviour is expected, and desired! Apart from blocking this update, is there anyway to default back to the old way, where a double click created a Meeting? Right clicking on the calendar shows both options grayed
    out.

    Hi,
If you have installed this update, I don't have a method to change this behavior so far. The only method is to block this update, but I'd rather let the users change their habit a bit since this update also contains many other improvements.

  • Setting Custom Calendar Permissions not working Outlook 2013

    Hi,
I am trying to create a custom calendar permission for a calendar for a member of staff, he wants another member of staff to see that he's free/busy, create items, edit own and delete own. when I set this, only the free/busy under Read is applied, the
other user cannot edit the calendar. Is this a known bug within outlook 2013?, is there a fix? can I use exchange 2010's management console to add a custom permission?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Bondy,
Based on my research, such permissions cannot be implemented. The member won't be able to create/edit the calendar without
    Read Full Details permission.
If you don't want the user to see some items in your calendar, you can mark the items as private by clicking the item and then clicking
Private button under Calendar Tools tab.

  • Office 365 hosted Exchange Outlook 2013 "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange"

I have Outlook 2013 downloaded from my Office 365 account and am getting the error "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange".  I have added all the steps I have followed so far below.
We changed over to the Office 365 hosted Exchange from 2003 Small Business Server yesterday.  I have backed up my Outlook 2010 then uninstalled all Office applications and rebooted.  Then downloaded the Office 2013 suite from my account
and installed it.  Ran the desktop setup to "Set up your desktop applications to work with Office 365."  Went to the control panel and launched the mail tool, made the
profile and named it Outlook and it auto filled with the correct info.  Clicked Next and it all checked as good, but when I launch Outlook I get the error "The resource you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft
Exchange".  I have rebooted the laptop and recreated the account three times with the same results.
    Any suggestions?

OK.  So we solved the problem.  At least in my case.
We deleted the profile again then jumped on a neighbors wifi and then ran the desktop setup from Office 365 again.  Then we launched the mail setup tool, created a new profile and entered the information for the account.  After this took we launched
Outlook and everything is working fine.
One thing to point out is that prior to the time that it worked, when I would create the profile and open it to set it up, it would auto fill the two available fields Name and Email Address.  On the last run it didn't auto fill and I had four fields
to fill out.  Name, Email Address and Password (x2).
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Outlook 2013 calendar permissions issue

Hi,So I've been bashing my head on something for a couple of days now and I need your help.We migrated from Exchange 2007 to 2013 on premise in the last couple of weeks and we now have some issue with some of the shared calendars. So the problem is, I gave full access rights to a mailbox to someone else and also gave that same person Owner permission on the shared calendar. In OWA, everything is ok, I can see all the details, edit everything, I even see the events colors.BUT in Outlook 2013, it's another story.I only see the details of the event without being able to modify and/or add anything. Here's what I tried so far :Disable Outlook cached mode - NopDeleted/recreated Outlook profile - NopDeleted all permissions for that user and recreated it - NopRemoving full access permissions and restoring them - NopUpdating Exchange 2013 to CU 8...

  • Exchange 2010 Room Calendar Permissions are too permissive when Default is set to None.

Help! Room Calendar permissions are too permissive when Default is set to None.
We are a brand new Exchange 2010 shop, and have setup several conference rooms.  Many of them are restricted to specific groups to book via In-Policy Requests using Resource Booking Attendant.  The Room Calendar permissions for most
rooms shows only two options for the Default access: None and Full Details.  Default is set to None, yet if someone opens the room calendar in Outlook (& they are not part of the In-Policy restrictions) they are able to see the full meeting details
(even open the meeting for full details).  How is this possible when by default they should not have any access as it is set to None?  Some rooms would not be a problem for clients to see the details, but some rooms like Executive rooms need to be
locked down so that others cannot see the room details - None.
I also found this, although it did not make a difference.  If I create an Outlook profile for the room and login as the room calendar in Outlook, go to File, Options, Calendar, Resource Scheduling, Set Permissions I get different default options:
None, "Free/Busy time", "Free/Busy time, subject, location" and Full Details.  Why do I have more options in this view rather than the Room Calendar Permissions?  I looked at two rooms and both Default options were set to "Free/Busy
time", so I changed these settings to None.  Still the clients can view the full room calendar details.  What are we missing to get the room calendar locked down so it is not displaying details to everyone?

Only the default groups and Exchange Admins have Full Access to these items, so that is not the issue.
-MailboxFolderPermission 1RP07AWest:\Calendar cmdlet and it shows the same access I see when I open the calendar in Outlook and view the Permissions as shown below - Default is set to None.
As I stated in my last reply the only thing that finally forced it to be blocked is changing the Resource Scheduling permissions under Options > Calendar for that room mailbox.  If I have to do that for each room calendar, it's going to
take considerable time to change each one.  Is there a cmdlet to allow me to access and change that setting as well?

  • Outlook 2013 treating Shared Calendars differently

I did try to ask this in a
different forum, but was pointed to this one:
This question encompasses a few Microsoft products, but I think this is the best place to ask the question because the actual issue is Outlook 2013 for Windows desktop.
We have Outlook connecting to a couple of different kinds of Shared Calendars. The problem is it is only performing appointment reminders for one of the kinds.
The one that IS working: a shared calendar created by creating a Room on a Windows Phone. When anyone in the Room creates an appointment with a reminder on that calendar, the reminder goes off in each user's Outlook 2013.
The one that IS NOT working: a shared calendar created in Exchange Online. When any member of that shared mailbox creates an appointment with a reminder on that calendar, the reminder DOES NOT go off in each user's Outlook 2013.
The question: How do we get the reminders to work in the second case?

Are the room calendar appointments  added to the user's default calendar in Outlook? If so, they will get a reminder in Outlook. (They aren't added to my calendar here - I only get a reminder on my phone - the Room lives only on my phone.)
Shared calendars are in another mailbox and reminders don't fire in those mailboxes. If the user has owner permissions and opens the shared mailbox by adding it to their profile they should get reminders.  File, Account Settings, double click on the
account, then More Settings - select the shared mailbox to add it to the profile.

  • No calendar connection for Exchange 2010 + Outlook 2013

    My environment is this:
Running Outlook 2013 (as part of Office 2013 Suite) connecting to Exchange Server 2010
    Both cached and non-cached modes
    Connecting using RPC
With both existing profile for last 1yr+ and with a new profile
    Outlook v 15.0.4649.1001
The issue I'm having is a room/resource calendar that I was once able to see I can't anymore.
Running Outlook 2010 as the same user from a different computer works fine.
    OWA works as well.
    Other calendars work
Running Outlook 2013 vs 15.0.4420.1017 also works on a different computer!!!
So this seems to be an issue with my particular version of Outlook, and I did read where a security update seems to have gotten in the way (regression test lately?) but a December patch of 2013 was supposed to fix that. I didn't specifically install the
patch, rather I downloaded from my vendor the latest available version they had.
So is there a patch that will work for me. The only one I've come across tells me it isn't for my machine.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi,
According to your description and test, I understand that the room/resource calendar is invisible in Outlook.
How about changing another user to log on your Outlook?
How about the same version of Outlook on another computer?
Please try to run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
Please try to re-create profile for testing.
If all method above doesn’t work, please re-install Outlook.

  • No permission to create an appt. in standalone Outlook 2013

    Hello!
I am struggling with the .ost / ,pst thing when trying to migrate from Outlook 2010 to 2013.
I installed Outlook 2013 on a standalone computer (no network/servers etc) and when I migrated calendar items from my Outlook 2010 on another computer, they went into the "Calendar" folder so I could see all future and historical meetings.
In doing that a second "Calendar (this computer only)" folder was created.  This folder is where new meeting requests via email are being routed (they do not show in the "Calendar" view.  I would be fine with this (use Calendar
for old mtg's (archive) and use the Calendar (this computer only) for all current and future meetings except that it is saying I don't have permissions to create appt's in this folder (although I do in the "Calendar" folder.
So now the only way to create a appt. is to email myself from another computer so it shows up in my proper calendar.  I just installed a few days ago and have worked through the email folder (this computer only) issue but this one has me.  I want
to reconcile before I connect other devices (phone) as I suspect the path will not connect to the correct calendar either.
Please advise with steps to remedy or point to online resources.
    Thanks!
