Conference Station 7937g

I have a customer who has the 7936 Conference Station with the mic kit and is looking for an alternative solution that would provide a conference station that has wireless mics.
According to the data sheet for the 7937g there is support for a 3rd party lapel mic.  I am looking for more information as to what that is.  What 3rd party microphone is it?  How many of these mics can be operating simultaneously per conference station.

Polycom has an accessory compatible with the 7937:

Thanks,
Marcos

  • Calling issue with Cisco 7937 conference station

    Hi Friends,
    I am facing issue wiht Cisco 7937 conference station, our customer have various branch offices accross the world. All branches are connected over MPLS through service provider( SIP service provider) . there is a centralized CUCM and remote office have SIP Voice gateways .
    When making calls from once remote site to another using Cisco 6921 phones calls working fine
    When making calls from once remote site to another using Cisco 7937 conference station to make call  any phone at remote office, calls are getting disconneted, remote phone rings when calls,  but its gets fast busy tone when other party picks up the phone and  not able to talk.
    I suspect the issue with Codec but we have configured transcoders  in VG and registered with CUCM
    Please help me if any one experience such issue earlier.
    Regards
    Siva

    hi Basant,
    1. Actually tow phones A and B are registerd with centralized CUCM, A and B are located in two different locations, RTP traffic between And B pass through service provider.
    Call Flow --> Phone A ---->CUCMRouterpattern--> SIP trunk ----> Voice gateway--->Service provider cloud---> Respective Voice Gateway---> CUCM -- Phone B

  • Waht's the max-users of MeetMe , conference ,7936 conference station

    What's the max-users of MeetMe , conference ,7936 conference station,How to change the number ?

    the maximum 'conferees' of a conference call are limited by the type/number of DSPs and the codec(s) used.
    see the following link for tables on theoretical maximums.
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios123/123cgcr/vvfax_c/callc_c/ccm_c/intcnf2.htm
    this link shows RTR based DSP tables. a 6608 blade in a catalyst can handle g711/g723/g729, maximum 16 conferees per conference.
    the number of sessions differs as well depending on the type/number of DSPs and codec(s) used.

  • 7935 Conference Station

    Is there a limit to the number of digits that you can put in a entry in the phonebook on a 7935?

    As far as I know, there is no restriction of the number of digits that can be entered in the phone book.

  • New UC540W deployment with conference and ip phone

    Hi All,
    I'm preparing solution for UC540W with conference station phone and other ip-phone for small company.
    My current selected bill of material is consisting of following.
    5 x CP-7942G IP phones
    2 x CP-7937G Conference station phones
    1 x UC540W-FX0-K9 appliance
    I have few doubts to ask:
    1. Is everything included for working complete solution?
    2. CP-7942G has CP-7942G-CH1 model also. Which model should I use?
    3. Can I use PoE for CP-7937G s/phones or should I use CP-PWR-CUBE-3 ?
    Please let me know anything missing please.
    Thanks

    1 yes.
    2 they are the same exact hardware.
    3 PoE
    Note: if you want sure and fast results, and save yourself a lot of frustration, do not try yo do yourself, engage an UC certified Cisco Partner, or persone withh equivalente knowledge and expereince.

  • External mic inputs and speaker outputs for CP-7937G Conf Phone

    Has any tried to connect the Polycom® SoundStation IP Multi-Interface to the Cisco Conference Station CP-7937G Phone, it appears to be the only way to get eextra mic inputs and line level outputs for enhancing conference call?  See attached Quick Start Guide.

    Here's where I am on interfacing external mikes, PCs, speakers, etc. with the Cisco 7937. It seems this I/O port is quite a mystery to both Cisco and the manufacturer (Polycom). There are virtually no technical specs for it anywhere on line. So, I bought a variety of cables and connectors and tried exploring. I could never get anything but input into the 7937 to work. I could never get any output from it despite the output symbol next to the port. Here are the input test results:
    3 pole 2.5mm to dual stereo 3.5mm breakout cable didn't work at all
    4 pole 2.5mm to stereo 3.5mm for input worked only on one pole (red connection). Half volume?
    3 pole 2.5mm to stereo 3.5mm for input works only on white connector (louder?)
    3 pole 2.5mm to mono 3.5mm for input, works (louder?)
    2 pole 2.5mm to stereo 3.5mm for input, works
    2 pole 2.5mm to mono 3.5mm for input ,works, and is simplest.
    So, if you want to feed an external audio source into the Cisco 7937, almost any type of 2.5mm male connector cable at the 7937 will work
    I could never find any mention of successful use online, and could not find an output signal myself, so I suspect the 7937 was just mislabeled.

  • Cisco 7937G with SIP

    Hi all,
    I have to install a 7937G conference station in an SIP environment. Is there a way to convert the device to SIP or can I use a gate way or something like this? I mean, in general you can ceonvert SCCP-phones to SIP devices and I don't want to buy an other very expensice device!
    THX!

    There is no SIP Firmware available for download on CCO for 7937, because it doesnt support SIP as of yet. So converting an SCCP phone to SIP looks impossible in case of 7937.

  • CP 7937G resetting continuosly in registering UC560

    Dear Sirs,
    I’m trying to connect a CP-7937 conference Station in a UC 560. In this UC I’ve got several phones working correctly. When I configure the mac address previously in the UC, the unit gets IP, it loads the regional configuration, and after it resets. If I delete the extension and mac address of the CP-7937, it loads all the firmware, and stay without extension number but it doesn’t reset.
    Could anyone get me some light int this issue?

    Yes,
    Bit confusing as table reference that it should be supported however I have now also seen other threads where they say not supported till "Summer" 2014 and that is even on CUCME 10.x
    Might log a TAC to see what the deal is as all the table indicate that I am on the correct versions both IOS and CUCM

  • Using Lync with Google Hangouts

    I am working with a government agency that uses a Polycom CX 5000 HD through
    a Microsoft Lync System and am wonder if this could be used to run a google hang out video call? I am not a user of this system and and just being exposed to it but want to be informed as I go into a consultation to see what we can do with their existing system
    to offer remote workshops to external users.
    Any help you can offer or direction to resources I would greatly appreciate.

    Lync supports external participants that don't have user accounts:
    External Participant Support - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn194471.aspx
    External users—those who do not have a user account in your organization or in a supported federated domain—can participate in a Lync Meeting. Also called anonymous users, these participants
    are able join meetings using the Lync Web App. When joining a meeting, anonymous users are first transferred to a waiting area called the lobby. Presenters can then either admit these users to the meeting or reject them.
    Have a Lync user create a Lync Meeting and add you as a participant or presenter, you can connect with a web browser.
    As for the CX 5000, this was optimized for Lync: http://www.polycom.com/products-services/products-for-microsoft/lync-optimized/cx5000-unified-conference-station.html .
    I have heard of people getting it to work with Skype and I guess the following person has it working with Google Hangouts: https://plus.google.com/+SamanthaVardanega/posts/gRbo75M5scF

  • 7936 not showing software version and vlan issue

    I have a 7936 that does not show the software version. I have installed the newest load on the callmanager, but still cannot see what version it is running on the phone.
    My main issue with the phone is that I have to set the switchport access vlan to the voice vlan, if I try to let the phone use the swithport voice vlan, it will pull an IP address off of the data vlan and not the voice vlan.
    Any help with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated. I do rate all helpful posts.
    Thanks,
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
    Here is some info that may help;
    Verifying Firmware Version Information
    You can obtain information about the firmware version installed on the IP Conference Station.
    Follow these steps to verify the firmware version on an IP Conference Station:
    Step 1 Press the Menu button.
    Step 2 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select the Admin Setup menu.
    Step 3 Press the Select button.
    Step 4 Enter the administrator password. (The default administrator password is **#.)
    Step 5 Press the Enter softkey.
    Step 6 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select System Information.
    Step 7 Press the Select button.
    Step 8 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select SW Version.
    The firmware version number is displayed.
    Or if that is not working try accessing this way;
    Using the Web Interface
    Follow these steps to access the Cisco IP Conference Station 7936 web interface:
    Step 1 Open your web browser.
    Step 2 In the address field enter:
    http:// IP address of the IP Conference Station:
    Configuration information applies to the specific IP Conference Station associated with the IP address you enter.
    Note If you changed the HTTP port number, you need to use that number as a suffix to the IP address. If you did not change the HTTP port number, then you do not need to enter a suffix.
    The web interface appears, and the initial login page is displayed.
    Step 3 To log in as the administrator, enter the administrator password and click Login.
    The default administrator password is **#.
    Note When logged in to the IP Conference Station web pages, the web pages will time out after approximately 20 minutes of inactivity. You will then have to log back in.
    Step 4 To log off, click Administrator Logout.
    Information Available on All Web Pages
    The top right portion of the Cisco IP Conference Station 7936 web interface includes a separate section that displays consistent information for all of the web pages.
    This section contains the following information; example text appears next to each item in the list:
    Software Version: 3.3(2.00)
    Protocol Type: SCCP
    Boot Load ID: PC0503031418
    Application Load ID: CMTERM_7936.3-3-2-0
    IP Address: 10.1.1.11
    MAC Address: 00c742655892
    Local Number: 2022
    As far as the VLAN issue goes, this has always been the case for our 7935's as well and I'm sure the 7936 is the same.
    Switchport mode access
    Switchport access VLAN XXX
    Hope this helps!

  • Call Manager 5.1 How to calculate UM phone "points"

    We are going to install a new UM 4.x on call manager 5.1. phones = 800 , mix of several models.
    I spoke w/ Ingram Micro and they stated that UM 5.x requires "points" to enable the phones.
    7911 = 4 points
    7970 = 5 points
    7940 = 4 points
    Softphone = 3 points
    Where is it documented the "points" system, any info I can read ?
    Any reply would be great

    Hi Mark,
    This is correct :) These points are called Device License Units (DLU's). Here is some more detailed info;
    Device licenses are required for Cisco devices and for third-party devices, with the flexibility to replace third-party devices with Cisco devices. Device licenses are sold in increments of device-license units (DLU's). Device-license units are assigned to each device connected to Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0. Each device is assigned a unit number based on the type and capabilities of the device. Devices with more complex and high-end capabilities are assigned a higher number of units compared to devices with basic capabilities,
    Here is the DLU breakdown;
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7902G = 1
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7905G = 2
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7911G = 3
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G = 3
    Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7920 (no battery) = 4
    Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7936 = 3
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7940G = 4
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7941G = 4
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7941G-GE = 4
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7960G = 4
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7961G = 4
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7961G-GE = 4
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970G = 5
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7971G = 5
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7985G = 6
    Third-party SIP device (basic) = 3 (third-party)
    Third-party SIP device (advanced) = 6 (third-party
