Config. of Format Proposal for Online Adtype of IS-MAM 4.6C

Hi,
Need to configure Format Proposal for Online adtype, for different periods (raning from 1day to 1 year). Do I need to create 365 Booking Types i.e. D1, D2, D3.....upto D365. Pricing will also be uploaded 365 times for a single Format Proposal, depending on the Booking type.
Or can we create multiple line items for a single Ad e.g. Ad for 36 days can have two items 1) with Booking type M1 and 2) with Booking type D6. This way I will create less no. of Booking types than creating 365 Booking types.
Is there any simple solution for the above requirement.

First in the booking type customization [SAP Media / Advertising Management / Sales / Order / Sales Document / Sales Document Item / Online Item Type / Define Booking Types] maintain 'Settlement Cat.' as  '0 Use booking period for pricing'.
Then instead of creating format proposal for each day create format proposal based on size of the ad..
Then create a condition type  for which unit of measure is DAY. Please copy the standard condition type 'PROT' for this.
For this condition type calculation type is 'Quantity - daily price'.
Scale basic is 'Time period scale u2013 Days'.
Scale type is 'Base-scale'.
And against this condition type maintain price in JJK1 for a *single day*.
Inside the order maintain a single format proposal. (Please note that Format proposal is used for entering different sizes of ads)
In in 'Date' field you can specify from and to date.
Suppose the ad is from 01/03/2011 to 30/03/2011 (30 days) , enter the 'PublPeriod' from as 01/03/2011 and to as 30/03/2011.
So based on this system will determine quantity of this order as 30 DAY.
And you will get the price for 30 days.
If you specify the  'PublPeriod' from as 01/03/2011 and to as 17/03/2011, system will determine the quantity of this order as 17 DAYS.
Hope this will solve your problem.

  • Best File Format For Online Line Art?

I thought the conventional wisdom was that all line art for the screen should be saved as GIFs, all photographic line art should be saved as JPEGs.
Then PNGs came along and offered an alternative to GIFs.
I've been exploring this because I've been having a problem when exporting line art from Illustrator 8 as a PNG and opening it in Fireworks MX, where it appears washed out.
I did a bit of research among comic strip artists -- the art I'm exporting from Illustrator is a comic strip -- and came up with conflicting results.
Dilbert seems to save black and white line art as GIFs, e.g. http://dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/archive/images/dilbert2008611230313.gif
... But its Sunday colored strips seem to be saved as JPEGs, e.g. http://dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/archive/images/dilbert2008040261966.jpg
Meanwhile Donnesbury seems to save colored comic strips as GIFs, e.g. http://images.ucomics.com/comics/db/2008/db080406.gif
    Any thoughts, suggestions?
    Thanks.

I assume your line art is drawn as vector art in Illustrator, correct?
As far as I'm concened, the "best file format for online line art" would be .swf, because it would retain its scaleable vector nature, and the Flash Player is most likely embedded in any reasonably recent computer's browser.
But a little simple experimentation would be in order regarding file size. SWF (as exported from Flash, not necessarily AI) is very efficient. But the complexity of the line art could still make a given image require more bandwidth as .swf than as a rasterized version.
The former conventional-wisdom regarding PNG is the old "not supported in older browsers" saw. I see even Firworks's online help still says:
    > However, not all web browsers can view PNG graphics.
Personally, I think its way past time to stop cow-towing to outdated browsers and use PNGs anyway. So if it were me, and the nature of my line art required rasterization for online use, I would use PNG for its obvious advantages. But then, my livlihood is not affected by some minority of outdated web viewers not being able to view my PNGs.
I would think that whatever color problems you are having in getting your AI files exported to PNG can be worked out with a little investigation/experimentation. (PNG supports color management profiles, so that alone may be your problem, and may be easily fixed in your workflow.) GIF is by definition limited to a subset of colors. JPEG is by definition a lossy compression format. So there are certainly precise color-accuracy issues with those overused formats, too.
But again, that's just me. What little I do in web graphics that would involve this issue doesn't really affect my livelihood. Lowest-common-denominator compatibility may be more important to you.
    > Gilbert seems to...
    > Doonsbury seems to...
The two images are very close to the same size (132K & 125K). They both include contone grads. Between JPEG and GIF, I would expect JPEG to more consistently yield acceptable results. Since GIF is limited to an 8-bit lookup table, I would expect aberations such as unwanted banding to be more likely in GIF if the artwork contains many colors and alot of highly-rendered shading.
    Since you specify
line art, though, that would rule out contone fills, and you could use GIF with a very small color table.
On the other hand, you do not specify whether you want to use transparency in your line art images. If you do, PNG would be far superior, because it supports true alpha transparency. In a GIF, if you can only make one particular color transparent. So even with line art, if the line art is antialiased at all, you'll have the ugly halos so commonly seen in GIFs when displayed on a wrong-colored background.
The only functional "advantage" that I see in GIF over PNG is its multi-image capability, for quick & dirty frame-by-frame animation. My personal animation efforts focus entirely on Flash/SWF, and use scripted animation whenever possible to avoid frame-by-frame. But I recognize the simplicity convenience of animated GIFs for web banners and those (often-annoying) moving icons and such.

  • Process flow with configuration for online payment of vendors

    Dear friends,
I need the process flow with configuration for online payment to vendors through rtgs or neft.
Please help me in this regard. One of my client wants to implement online payment process instead of cheque payment.
    thanks and regards
    satya

    1) Payments are initiated at the corporate SAP System using APP and converted into IDOC
Could you please tell me the steps in converting the app into idoc.
There are standard Idoc used for the same , for APP it would be PAYEXT, You need to use this Idoc type.
You define the EDI payment method and assign the program in FBZP (RFFOEDI1)which would created payment medium.
i believe in the app we will create the proposal and run the payment run, after payment proposal created what are the config steps involved in createing the payment run. for example for checque payment we will maintian variant for cheque printing.
The payment run config is done in FBZP, which would include definf check PM and assigning house bank sub gl etc.
    2) PI at Client End receives the input through IDOC for the payments
Pl means? and how the client will recieve this idoc what is the set up has to be made?
PI(Process Integration) middleware which will send bank files from sap to bank and vice versa.
    3) Bank PI receives the payment and converts the same RTGS/NEFT format
    4) Payment Data is received at the Bank RTGS/ NEFT server for further processing
how the payment data will be recieved by bank what is the process?
This is again via PI or any thoird party tool which will send bank files to sap as Idoc, The idoc message type is FINSTA.
or this in SAP you will have to configure the following:
    *House bank with partner profile
*Outbound parameters                      what is meant by outbound paramenters and how to create and where to maintian
*Inbound parameters                          what is meant by inbound paramenters and how to create and where to maintian
The outbound and Inbounmd idoc's are the one which we send(PAYEXT) and rec from bank(FINSTA).  you create partner profile in WE20 and create partner profile once you create you assign outbound and inbound message types in there.
*EDI Compatible payment methods        how to know about the compaitable payment methods
Please goto house bank FI12 and you will see this in there, assign the PM used.
*APP config                                        i know the app config for cheque payment, for this scenairo any additional settings?
It would be pretty much same, you will have to define the PM used and Payment medium and remaining configuration in FBZP.
    *Bank details in Vendor :
You will have to maintain the bank details of the vendor in vendor master.

  • I am unable to generate a Dunning Proposal for Promise to Pay items

Please advise how or if its even possible to generate a dunning proposal for overdue Promise to Pay items. Currently after debugging I find that the Dunning Proposal filters out any items that are from open promises. Is there a way to generate the dunning proposal for promise to pay items that are overdue? I'm using ECC 6.0 EhP 4.0 PSCD module

Within SPRO there is some config to define a dunning block for a promise to pay. I would suggest you check here.
FSCM >> Collections Management >> Int with AR >>  Promise to Pay >> Make settings for Promise to Pay.
If this does not work, I would assume this is because you are using FI-CA and the config is slightly different.

Please help out in resolving this.
    Thanks in Advnace.
    Maheswar

    Hi mahesh,
If you are using backup feature from crx console, I mean http://localhost:4502/crx/config/backup.jsp  I can say that we had also some problems with this functionalities.
First off all what you need to check are the permissions, because when you check a source code there is line which creates a File object using a path specified by you to make a backup of repository.
    File targetDir = new File(req.getParameter("targetDir", listDir.getParentFile().getAbsolutePath()));
You need to have sure that the proper read write access has been granted for this path.
Another issue is that maybe there was already prepared some hotfix if you are using CQ5.4. Please refer to the following link:
    http://dev.day.com/content/kb/home/Crx/CrxSystemAdministration/CRXOnlineBackup.html
    and also to this one:
http://dev.day.com/content/docs/en/crx/current/release_notes/overview.html which contains a hotfix number #34797 which was applied to backup.jsp file.

  • Why does 'User not registered for online use' show up when I try to import a cd into itunes. None of the cd info shows up either

Why does 'User not registered for online use' show up when I try to import a cd into itunes? None of the cd info shows up either.

Well, the format I upload from the camera is "video clip" or "video for Windows"...sometimes I've converted them to avi format, too. But as I said, it never even lets me get that far...I never get to even select a clip. As soon as I tell the program to "import/clip" it freezes up before I can even go to the folder that the clips are in. It has only begun to do this recently, and I'd never had any problems like this before. Last night I tried it again, and I clicked "open composition", and it froze when I did that too.
I'm not sure how much more specific I can be about the details of the clips, since I'm positive it has nothing to do with the clips themselves...I'm running Windows XP, though...Home Edition Service Pack 2, Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz, with 504 MB of RAM. I have had the automatic updates turned on since I did my last reformat a couple of weeks ago. Could it have something to do with some kind of an update it may have done?

  • Proposal for embedding XMP in IFF and RIFF files... (where to submit?)

Since Adobe does not seem to have created any proposal
for embedding XMP packets into IFF and RIFF files, I
propose the following (Is it possible to submit it
to Adobe so they can include it somewhere, do they
    accept propositions?):
This is a draft proposal for embedding XMP packets into
IFF and RIFF files. Comments and suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks!

Embedding XMP data into EA IFF'85 file formats
    ===============================================
This proposal permits adding XMP compatible metadata to standard
IFF files. An IFF file is composed of chunks of data; each of
the chunks precedeed by a header giving the type of data that
follows, as well as the length of the data in the chunk. For
more information on the IFF file format, consult the specification
"EA IFF 85 Standard for Interchange Format Files".
Including XMP data in an IFF compatible file is a matter
of using a chunk type that will contain the XMP packet. The chunk
ID for this type of date shall be "XMP ".
    Guidelines for IFF writers
If the XMP packet is to be used, the software can optionally
    write out the following chunks
    (defined in the original standard):
"NAME", which represents the dc:title property in XMP.
"AUTH", which represents the dc:creator property in XMP.
"(c) ", which represents the dc:rights property in XMP.
In the case where they are written, for better validation by reader
software, the XMP packet should also contain the xmp:MetadataDate
    property.
For better portability, and to easily modify the embedded
XMP data, the following guidelines should be followed by
    the IFF writer:
    - The XMP packet should contain the full packet signature;
this permits easier searching for tools that do not
    understand the IFF file format.
    - The XMP packet should be encoded in UTF-8.
    - As specified in the XMP specification, an XMP packet
should be filled with blank spaces for easier updating of
the XMP packet without rewriting the entire file.
A suggested size of an XMP chunk is 4096 or 8192 bytes.
    - Only one "XMP " chunk should be present in the file
    (Even in "CAT " files).
    Guidelines for IFF readers
If an XMP packet is present in an IFF file, then one of
the following options can be used to retrieve the
    metadata from the file:
If the "NAME", or "(c) " or "AUTH" chunks are also present,
then, one of the following solutions can be used:
    a) Compare the xmp:MetadataDate property with the
file modification date to determine which chunk to use
for the dc:title, dc:righrs and dc:creator field. (If the
file modification date is greater than xmp:MetadataDate,
    it is probably
safe to assume that the "NAME", "(c) " and "AUTH" chunks
might have been updated by software that does not
    understand XMP packets.
    b) Simply ignore these chunks and use the XMP
    packet for the metadata.
    c) Simply ignore the XMP chunk , and use the
other chunks for getting the metadata of the file.
Embedding XMP data into IBM-Microsoft RIFF file formats
    =======================================================
This proposal permits adding XMP compatible metadata to standard
RIFF files. A RIFF file is composed of chunks of data; each of
the chunks precedeed by a header giving the type of data that
follows, as well as the length of the data in the chunk. For
more information on the RIFF file format, consult the specification
"Multimedia Programming Interface and Data Specifications 1.0"
Including XMP data in an RIFF compatible file is a matter
of adding a subchunk to the INFO LIST chunk. The subchunk
ID for this type of date shall be "IXMP".
    Guidelines for RIFF writers
If the XMP packet is to be used, the software can optionally
write out all other INFO LIST registered (from the standard),
    assuming the following ma

Thanks for the info Paul. You (or anyone else) wouldn't happen to know if and when a Photoshop version likely to address this issue will be available (ie embedding XMP packets into GIF and PNG files according to the guidelines presented in XMPEmbedding.pdf)?
Also, I like to point out the discrepancy for embedding an xmp packet into the PNG format (as listed in XMPEmbedding.pdf) and the sample provided in the SDK (BlueSquare57.png). XMPEmbedding.pdf state that an XMP packet is to be placed in an 'iTXt' chunk. However BlueSquare57.png has the packet in a 'tXMP' chunk. Which is the correct one? Or are they both correct and an XMP packet can be found in either an 'iTXt' or 'tXMP' chunks?

  • I am putting together a proposal for a Final Cut Pro Workstation to use with a tapeless HD camera.  Can anyone suggest the best camera (in the 5-10,000 dollar range) ?  What hardware and software should I include in the package?

I am putting together a proposal for a Final Cut Pro Workstation to use with a tapeless HD camera.  Can anyone suggest the best camera (in the 5-10,000 dollar range) ?  What hardware and software should I include in the package?

This is quite an open suggestion, but here are some ideas which might get you started.  There are good HD cameras in your price range from Sony, Panasonic and Canon (and maybe other manufacturers). Tapeless formats vary.  I have only worked with Sony XDCAM which seems pretty good to me.  File sizes for material shot at 35MBS are not too huge and, with the free Sony transfer and conversion programme, are easy to bring into the computer via USB direct from the camera or from a fairly inexpensive converter.  The Sony XDCAM EX3 can produce results well up to broadcast quality.
As to hardware, you'll need a powerful MAC - iMac, Macbook Pro or MacPro with 4GB or more of RAM and a good video card.  Softwarewise, FCPX is quite a bit cheaper than FC Studio 3 and of course it's 64bit and can make better use of multi-core machines than FCP7.    It's also designed to handle HD formats with less hassle than FCP7 and is matched to the latest versions of Motion and Compressor.   But you'd probably be wise to search reviews of FCPX before you make your choice - it has some issues.
A good HD monitor will be essential and, for colour correction etc, you may want to consider a second monitor or HD TV foe editing. ( A MacPro is generally the best machine to connect a second monitor to).
This should give you a good editing system, but there are many other things you could add (Photoshop, professional sound monitors, etc)
    Hope this helps a bit.

  • Max Number of Procurement Proposal for a date

We have scenario where a user has changed fixed lot size for a material 11,70,000 to 1 Pc. As result more than 2 Million Purchase requisitions got created by MRP. Is there any standard config settings, where we can maintain max number of procurement proposal for given date or demand. So that we can prevent such occurances in future.

    Hello Amit.
The materials planning creates a large number of order proposals in the amount of the fixed lot size for this one request for a fixed lot size (lot-sizing procedure 'FX') with a large number of requests and a small number of fixed lot sizes.
In Customizing for the plant parameters of materials planning (transaction OPPQ, table T399D) you can set a parameter for the maximum number of order proposals that are created by materials planning for a requirements date.
The materials planning of this material terminates regularly if the maximum number is exceeded. An error document with error message E098 is generated. This way you can prevent that the MRP run terminates if the lot-sizing procedure is set unfavorably.

So, i have bad news for you : you'll have to rebuild again.
Meanwhile i have excellent news for you : there's an online tool made by Johannes Henseler called Sidecar xml which builds the necessary xml file for you, sort of what you find in the Digital Publishing Folio Editor website, but saves it in your Folio folder.
Next time you import all your folder (with that file), it will place all the necessary information, and even reorder the articles.
    Build once, play many times.

  • Best, export slideshow in iMovie, for online viewing

I tried exporting my 5min slideshow in iMovie using this setting:

    video format: h.264

    key frame: 12
    frame rate: 12

So far, this is good file size for online uploading, and good quality. Good enough. But there are still color issues, like some color blotching, and color transitioning, and the quality of the photos in the imovie when exported is not as good as when I view the slideshow in imovie. It's very important that the quality of the photos remain top quality as this for fine art photography promotion.
If you have any ideas how to export slideshows from imovie, in top quality, please reply. This is for online viewing, to be uploaded in free-hosted sites like youtube, facebook, multiply, etc. I am aware that youtube and facebook have HD options for video viewing. I need someone's help. Thanks.

Yes, I did. Not so good. The settings I mentioned above is actually the best I've tried so far.

  • Resize photos for online use

I have been trying all afternoon to resize photos for online use and can not follow directions given.  I know it must be simple but I am stumped.  I would like to speak to a real person and I'm sure my problem will be solved in less than five minutes.  PLEASE do not tell me to follow guidelines; I have tried that.
    Kay Wilhelm

    Hi Kay,
As an example, let's say we're trying to prepare this 1000x664 pixel, 1MB image for online posting.
If the website you're posting to is giving you a maximum dimension, for example that the image has to be 600 pixels across or less, then follow these 4 steps:
    1. Go to File -> Save for Web
    2. In the Save for Web panel, look for the Image Size boxes.
    3. Enter the desired dimension.  For example, if the website you're trying to upload to requires that images be 600 pixels across, enter 600 in the Width box.  The height should recalculate automatically.
    4. Hit the Save button.  You will now have an image saved to the required pixel dimensions!
If the requirement is for a maximum file size, rather than specific file dimensions, you would follow a different procedure.  If we were trying to resize the same 1000x664 pixel, 1MB image to a size of 100KB or less, we would follow these steps:
    1. Go to File -> Save for Web
    2. In the upper right hand corner of the Save for Web panel, make sure the format is set to JPEG.  Our original image was a PNG, which tends to have a larger file size.  JPEG images tend to have a smaller file size.
    3. In the Save for Web panel, look for the projected size of the file as saved with the current settings.  This is below the lower left hand corner of the image.  In this case, it is 170KB, which is higher than our desired maximum size of 100KB.
    3.  The easiest way to control the file size at a given pixel dimension is by reducing the image quality.  The controls for image quality are in the upper right hand corner of the Save for Web panel.  The default setting for JPEG exports is 60%.
    4.  You will need to determine how far you want to reduce the image quality in your particular case.  In this example, we can reduce the quality from 60% to 40% without affecting the visible image quality too much.  Setting the quality to 40% reduces the image size to 99KB, which is below our maximum of 100KB.
    5. When you are satisfied with the quality settings, press Save to save your image.
    Hope this helps!

  • Is there a save function for online forms?

Hi, I've created an online form which requests quite a lot of information from those who it is sent to.  Because of its size, I have made use of the skip logic rules to so that users can quickly skip sections that don't apply to them.  Notwithstanding this, the form asks questions which users may need to reseach and come back to so it wouldbe really useful if the form had a save function.  Does anyone know if such a function exists and if not, whether there are there imminent plans to develope one?
If not, regreattably I will have to try and find another solution for online information gather that has a save and return function.

    hi randy
I wholely support the request for a save feature for online forms, any idea of an ETA for this?
Also to expand on this- the ability to print the  web form would be brillant.
a few options for the  web forms submit to print, save.
Web forms after/before  submission maybe to save as a pdf locally -  which then could be printed out.

  • Can I print out the document formatting information for review

Is there a way to print out, for example, all the paragraph format with their formatting details? I'd like the same for character formats, conditional text etc.?
I'm a long time FrameMaker use and have built numerous templates over the years. The one thing I always found missing was the ability to printout a list of the various formats so that you can review them (much more easily one at a time on screen) to make sure they all have the correct settings. MS Word, back in the DOS days, had this capability and it was fast and efficient way of double checking all the formatting.
Does this functionality exist in FrameMaker? Or are there any utilities out there that would do this?
    Thanks,
    Inge

The Format List utility from Squidds does this really well. It creates
tables that contain the various formats and their settings. It's really
easy to look down a column and see which paragraph or character formats
use, for example, a particular font or space above setting. Format List
is one of the Finalyser utilities.
The Squidds website is notoriously user unfriendly, but here is a link
for the price lists page. If you can find the right list for your
FrameMaker version, it will give you prices for the complete Finalyser
or Toolbox utility set, and prices for the individual utilities. I
believe Format List is $49 USD.
    http://www.squidds.de/en/products/price-lists-order-form.html#c321
It seems like someone else makes a utility that creates a separate
one-column table for each format. I can't seem to find that one. Perhaps
someone else remembers what it is. Separate tables are not nearly as
easy to use for comparison, though.
