i want to know how to configure personnel administration and how to do integration between oragnisational management and personal administration.

Hi,
For configuration, follow the steps under SPRO : Personnel Management - Personnel Administration. Before these steps donot forget to determine Personnel area/subarea & employee group/subgoups (SPRO: Enterprise structure -> Definition -> HRM & Enterprise structure -> Assignment -> HRM)

For integration w. OM goto SM31 -> T77S0 - PLOGI ORGA should be set to 'X'.
Also you may need to run the reports RHINTE10,20,30

ESS For Personnel Adminstration

Hi SAP Experts,
Can anyone help me on this ESS part where i am working very first time on this.
Customer using ESS for leave and appraisal things. currently they have requested us to activate the IT0002,IT0006 where employee can see those details in ESS
Currently they don't have this functionality in ESS, they look over their personal details in R/3 Itself
But Customer requesting us to activate it, the should see their own information and addresses part in portal.
Can anyone guide me how to achieve this functionality. is it too tough to get it what is the functional part here? i also take this a learning tool for me if SAP experts help me.
I would be really great if i get guidance on this,

Hi Sriram,
SAP has given a standard application in this case for the employee to view his own personal information.Which enhancement package you are in ??? if you are in EHP5 and above then you can make use of this Personnel profile application and for this you have to maintain the table V_T7XSSPERSUBTY.

No Data from SAP R/3 to SAP BW

Hi there,
I am attempting to activate the standard BW Business Content for HR | Personnel Administration
I have activated InfoSource | Personnel Adminstration(PA-PA) as well as InfoArea | Personnel Adminstration(0PAPA)
Hence, managed to map :-
InfoSource EMPLOYEE | 0HR_PA_0 to DataSource 0HR_PA_0-Employee
InfoSource PERSONNEL ACTIONS | 0HR_PA_1 to DataSource 0HR_PA_1-Personnel Actions
InfoSource 'Headcount' | (0HR_PA_PA_1) has NOT been assigned to any data source
Hence, when I preview my InfoCube Headcount and Personnel Actions | (0PA_C01) I can see only the values for 0EMPLOYEE . I cannot see the other values such as 0PERSON, 0ACTIONAREA, 0ORGUNIT, 0PERS_AREA, 0AGE, 0COMP_CODE or the other standard fields
I have checked the InfoType's in SAP R/3 and there are values in the respective tables.
Please advice on this ! Appreciate a quick responce
P/S: We're on BW 3.5

Made reference to SAP Note 336229.
Maintained my Transfer Rules of Data Source 0HR_PA_PA_1 to Info Source 0HR_PA_PA_1 and all is green! Unfortunately, still NO data and error IDOC message is " The data request was a full update. In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not contain any data." 
The extractor of the DataSource reads the master data tables of the Employee (0EMPLOYEE) and person (0PERSON) InfoObjects and makes changes to these time-dependent attributes available as headcount changes...says SAP
Info Object person (0PERSON) works!!!, however Info Object(0EMPLOYEE) is giving me problem whereby in SAP R/3 Data Source (Employee - Education and Training) 0EMPLOYEE_0022_ATTR allows time overlapping of records, BUT BW generates an error " The time interval ['99991231'/'19930104'] & (from/to) for the data records 46 and 47 overlaps in characteristic 0EMPLOYEE "
For example, lets assume there is Employee X with the following entry in SAP R/3.
 Begin Date End Date SubType
 01.09.2003 01.09.2004 Professional Cert.
 01.09.2003 01.09.2006 Degree
 SAP R/3 allows this overlapping of time records however, BW does NOT. How can I tackle this overlapping issue in SAP BW?

Logical datbases are the ABAP Programs which serves many functions such data selection, data extraction and authorizations.
PNPCE or PNP for Personnel Adminstration ie if you want to extract data from infotypes 0000 to 0999 and 2000 to9999
you will use this logical data base to create infosets
PCH for Organizational Management
if you want to extract data from infotypes 1000 -1999 you will use this logical data base to create infosets
PAP for Recruitment
if you want to extract data from infotypes 4000 -4999 you will use this logical data base to create infosets
Customer specific infotpyes are included in logical databases according to their nature.

Photo upload into infotype 2

Hi All,
After uploading photos into infotype 2, the photos are dipalying in infotype 3, 14, 15 infotype but not in IT0001, IT0002.
Can anybody help me out?

These are the steps to add photos.
1) You'll find the customizing settings in :-
IMG - Personnel management - personnel administration - customizing user interfaces - change screen header.
Regarding the archiving part you better ask your basis admin to set that up for document type HRICOLFOTO.
2) Photo in the PA IT0002
1. Define physical archives using transaction OAC0 Arx. ZZ
2. Assign objects types & document types to archive & documents tables for Obj PREL , doc.type HRIEMPFOTO,
Arx. ZZ using transaction OAC3
3. Define number range using transaction OANR
4. Using transaction OAC2 define doc.typ & tech doc types for exmpl. HRIEMPFOTO - TIF
5. Create protocol for Archive link using transactions OAA3 for exmpl. Comm.prot.,version. Generate it will define
application type from list and so on.
6. In the table 585O define relevant infotype for object and document type for exmpl. for IT0002
7. Using transaction OAAD create link for PERNR with relevant infotype & files on the server, which described on the
first step.

As per SAP documentation following is the answer of your question:
Report RHINTE00 reads records of the Organizational Assignment infotype in Personnel Administration. It creates a batch input session that creates the relevant Organizational Management objects and relationships, depending on the parameters you set.
Report RHINTE10 generates the required table entries in Personnel Administration for Organizational Management objects that are relevant for integration.
Report RHINTE20 checks whether all of the objects relevant for integration exist in both Personnel Adminstration and Organizational Management.
Report RHINTE30 allows you to transfer a person's organizational assignments (positions, organizational units, and so on) from Organizational Managerment to the Organizational Assignment infotype of Personnel Administration.
These programs are used to synchronize the data between PA and OM.

and the values for OM and PA are PLOGI ORGA make the value as X

Generating Offer Letter & Data Transfer in Recruitment Module

Dear Gurus,
1) We are implementing Recruitment module and i am quite new to it. Could any one of you suggest what are the sequence of steps required to maintain to make sure that a Standard offer letter is generated and how to mail it to the applicant while you perform Offer Applicant Contract activity. Kindly suggest how to move further to fulfill this requirement.
Kindly note this is pure Recruitment module and e recruitment is totally out of scope.
2) How do you transfer applicant data to Personnel Adminstration module when the Applicant action Prepare for Hiring is run.
Kindly suggest the sequence of steps to be followed to make sure the data transfer happens from recruitment to personnel adminstration.
Kindly also let me know what are the mandatory switches that have to be activiated in T77S0 table to set up an integration between PA & RC.
3)When you hire a external applicant whose data is already there in PB10 and when you hire him for suitable vacancy and do the data transfer to PA. The next time when i try searching in the applicant pool will the Applicant group change from External applicant to internal applicant in case of hired applicant. If yes how to go about it.
Kindly throw some light on this. Please note we would like to go about the standard functionalities of SAP Recruitment module.
If there is any challenge in fulfilling the above requirements, kindly point out the same so i can address the same to my client...

Hi Ravi,
You can do the initial data entry of the applicant through Tcode PB40 or PB10. Once you have maintained the data, then you can do the applicant actions like given below through Tcode PB40.
Enter additional data
Reject applicant
Put applicant on hold
Process applicant
Offer applicant contract
Applicant rejects offer
Change of org. assignment
Further application
Invite applicant.
It is not compulsory to do all these actions, but these actions are useful to keep a track of applicants.
Then you have to do applicant action prepare for hiring through PB40. After doing prepare for hiring action you can transfer the applicant data to Personnel administration through Tcode PBA7. Once the data is transferred personnel number is generated for applicant. Then you have to complete the activities throug Tcode PBA8.
Few tables for configuration of recruitment :

Date of Origin

HI Experts,
Please tell me the purpose of "Date of Origin" feild in IT0015. and what kind of date it is?
When i am trying to get the report for this in SQ01, i am getting date as "00/00/0000". But some date is there in IT0015.
If i try to create a new record, by default i am getting one date in that feild. from where this date is appearing?

Can you check if the 'Date of Origin' in infotype 0015 is same as start date of org assignment in infotype 0001. If so, this will be maintained in configuration of infotype 0015.
Personnel Management -> Personnel Adminstration -> Customizing procedures -> Infotypes -> Open the info type and double click on infotype 0015.

Once you run PBA7, run report RPAPRT04. You can use this report to set applicant activities to completed, after you have transferred data for the applicants to Personnel Administration. The advantage of this report is that you receive a list of applicants for whom data has already been transferred to Personnel Administration, without having to enter selection criteria.
From now on, the applicants are handled as employees in Personnel Administration. The applicant data for these new employees does not require any further processing in the Recruitment component. You run this report to close the administration of the applicant data in Recruitment.
Apart from this i dont think there is any other major configurations..

PERNR - Personnel Number on vendor line item of the FI document Posting

After posting a time sheet (PR05, PRFI, PRRW), the FI document created (display via FB03) has the personnel number on each of the GL line items, but the field is blank on the vendor line item. Does anyone know how to get this to be populated with the same data as being populated on the GL line items (it's the same field BSEG-PERNR)? I've made the field optional on the vendor reconciliation account as well as on the posting key, but no success yet. thanks.

The vendor master was populated. The strange thing is that the GL line item gets populated but not the vendor line item in BKPF/BSEG. We talked to SAP and to get the vendor line item to populate we would have to do an SAP coding change.
I created a quickview (SQVI) between the appropriate tables to get the report out that we needed (a bit easier than an ABAP) - but nontheless it worked.

Updation of Personnel Area for a position and an employee after hiring.

Hi Experts,
I have query regarding Personnel Area updation for an employee.
Here is the scenario :-
An employee was hired to a Position with personnel area "A". In future, the Personnel area for this position is chnaged to "B". Now the PA for this person doesn't get updated automatically.
Could you suggest how do we update the PA for an employee?

If the personnel area of an employee is getting changed then that can be done by executing organisation re-assignment/ transfer action.
