Hi Sunil,
1. TCODE NACZ -> Create a procedure.
2. For this procedure you can define control sequence (Step, Control, Condition Type).
3. TCODE NACE -> Choose Application V6 (Handling Units).
4. Click on Output types.
5. You can create your own output type here.
6. For this output type you can give the access sequesnce.
7. For the same output type, in Processing Routines, give the Medium (Printer, EDI, etc.), Print Program Name, From Entry, Form name (SapScript Name). If it is a smartforms then specify the name in SmartFrom coulmn.
First 2 steps are depende on the requirement. You can go with standard settings.

Hi,
A handling unit is a physical unit that consists of the packaging materials (load carrier / packaging material) and the goods contained therein. A handling unit is always a combination of materials and packaging materials. All the information contained in the material items, such as batches and serial numbers, is always available by way of the handling units.
Packaging materials are intended to enclose or hold together the materials that are to be packed. In other words, the material that is to be packed can be packed into or onto the packaging material. The packaging material can be a load carrier. The most important packaging materials include crates, boxes, containers, wire baskets, and pallets.

I created Handling Units with BAPI_HU_CREATE , Pack materials with BAPI_HU_PACK in to Handling Untis and assign handling units to sales order with BAPI_HU_CHANGE_HEADER . But These BAPIs are not doing packing sales order line items in to handling units . I have to go sales order and do sales order line item packing by clicking packing button.
Could you please help on how to do packing Sales Order Line items in the background with BAPIs.

Dear Jaya,
Once, Configuration settings done, go to T. Code: Nace and select Application as V6 - Handling Units and click Tab: Procedures. Now select Procedures, as available, and double click Control.
Here, maintain, Condition type: and Requirement:
Now go back, and again select Application as V6 - Handling Units and click Tab: Output Types.
here, select the Output Type and maintain entries for Mail title and texts, Processing routines and Partner functions

Serial numbers in Inbound delivery for Handling units

Hello Experts,
I have the following scenario:
Purchase order + Inbound delivery + GR
Inbound delivery is used because I need to create handling units, the materials included in these handling units are serialized and I am getting from the vendor an excel document with Handling unit number and the serial numbers included in each handling unit.
So I would like to use this document to do the packing process in my inbound delivery instead of manually typing the serial numbers.
What would be the best option to do this?
I also need to do the same for MIGO when no HU are needed.
Any Ideas??

I would like to avoid creating my own Z transaction, is there any point in packing process where I can include some enhancement to upload the serial numbers, I gues the HU and packing process can be done manually by the user.
I was planning to enhance MIGO for the same process without handling units and I know that there a tab can be added at item level. But I do not know where or how to do it while packing.
Any suggestions?

Handling Units and BADI_HU_AUTOPACK

We are setting up handling units(HU's) to be created at the time of Transfer Order(TO) creation. We have implemented the badi BADI_HU_AUTOPACK. What I am looking for is the way to link the handling unit number with the line items on the TO so that when the user goes to confirm the transfer order the HU's and the line items are aligned as desired. In the CT_ITEMS parameter I can see the handling units and the TO item data, but the hadling unit number has not yet been created. I would appreciate any input on this issue.

Those fields are filled. The HU is field EXIDV below, and the $0000000001 is like a placeholder, since the HU number has not yet been generated. My assumption was that this number to be created would be linked with the TO Item 000001. This is not the case when viewing the TO.

ALV Report for Handling Units

Hi,
In SAP, the standard report exists for the selection of handling units (HUMO). The requirement is that in addition to standard output the report should also display for KMAT materials the serial number associated with the respective HU, catalog number and special stock category.
-Depending upon the selection criterion, the HU assigned with the material will be identified for the materials.
-The HU contains the catalog number in the contents field of status tab and will be displayed in output.
-The serial number assigned with the HU will be picked up from the HU and will be displyed in the output.
1. The program will first find out the HUs for the material. From the HU, catalog number and serial number will be traced.
2.The output should be in ALV format.
3.The output will display HU number, KMAT number, catalog number, serial number, quantity, special stock indicator, plant, Storage location, Warehouse number, and bin-location.
Can Any body tell me what are the table involved in this ALV report to display HU number, KMAT number, Special Stock Indicator, Warehoure Number and Bin Location.

For Handling unit tables are VEKP,VEPO also use object LE_HU in transaction SARA .
For Warehouse number check out table t300,t320 or view v_T320
For Bin location table T303,T303T or view V_T303
For special stock determination T434P
FOR KMAT - table MAST ,STKO ,STPO.

Try in t-code VL74 - Output from HU...
enter ur selection parameters like Output Type,Transmission Medium,Sort order and Processing mode
once you execute select the entries and click on Log (shift+F6) icon...

Changing posting date at usage decision for handle units. How?

Does anybody know how to change posting date at usage decision for handle units (HU)?
If the material is not managed by HU, SAP allows this modification (there's a button with a hat on it referring the material document header).
For HU I cannot seem to change posting date!

Yes it's possible! Well,...unless for versions 4.6C, 4.7 and ECC 5.
I've found SAP Note #752131 by which SAP declares that you can create the pushbutton from the Screen Painter referring the document header.
That's all,.....so simple, and it works fine!
This note applies ONLY to version 4.6C, 4.7and ECC 5 (which is the version the customer I am with has installed).

Custom output type configuration for Handling units

All, Can any one guide me how to configure AZ output types for handling units? My scenario is as follows.
To print a new label for the handling units as soon as the packing happens. User should be able to see this new custom output type in VLO2N/VL03N. Also user can print the labels thru VL74 by inputting the custom output type and processing mode.
For this I did the following.
Created a new custom output type in "NACE" under the application "V6 - Handling Units". And assigned print program and smart form for this output types. After this I am able to see the output types in VL74, when I did F4 on output type field. But I am not able to see the new output type in VL02N/VL03N.
Can anybody tell me what needs to be done to get the new output type in VL02N/VL03N.

Nested Handling Units and Confirmation of Transfer Order - Pick HU

Friends & Gurus,
I have nested (low level) handling units and when confirming I would like one of the nested HU to become the pick-HU. So far I haven't been able. The pick-HU is always generated with a new number and if I try to assign manually one of the nested HU the systems says that the HU is not assigned to the TO.
Any comments or ideas will be appreciated.

I can unpack the nested HU and then create a TO and select the unpacked HU (now a SU) as a full HU removal. I believe this is not operative, the idea is the operator gets to the big box, chooses (scans) one of the small box (nested) and confirms the TO. If somebody back at the office has first to unpack one of the nested HU (how could he know which one if there are 30 of them? Which one is on the top?) it makes it unviable.

SAP QM-QN facilitates work flow process, task monitoring, solution database and FMEA process for handling complaints and CAPA processes. BUT the current fields and reports configuration do not support specific-requirements of regulatory/organization-.
What are the implications of of customizing the "fields", "work flow" and "reports" inline with the FDA requirements. i.e.,
1. huge number of fields have to added in the notification initiation section which are different for each CAPA process [complaint, deviation, incident]
2. multiple work flow process for each category of CAPA process.
3. multiple reporting requirements for each instance of CAPA record. etc.,
request your comments/guidance on the impact during the life cycle viz., "while upgrading the current versions to next level" etc.,

Your iPod touch running OS 4.2 has a ZOOM feature which will enable you to see the screen more clearly.

I hope this has helped a little - other than this option I think it pretty much is what it is.
