Configuartion scenarios after ME patch update

Hi Sergiy / Experts,
I am doing patch update for ME 6.1 system ..increasing the MECORE level from 12 to 25.
And MII 14.0 components from SP04 to SP05.
After the update, what scenarios need to be executed in configuration wizard exactly...they are not clearly mentioned in upgrade guide. Kindly guide for the exact config scenarios to execute
Need your help..Will appreciate it.

If you are planning an upgrade to the latest patch of SAPMEINT, you have to verify the version of SAPMEINTCTC component that was executed in NetWeaver. If the executed version is older than the one listed in this section below then the latest corresponding CTC version has to be downloaded, deployed and Upgrade scenarios have to be executed in NetWeaver Administrator. XMII content area not opening after Netweaver patch update.

Recently we upgrade Netweaver patches [few] from 7.3 SP7 to 7.3 SP9, after the patch update XMII is not show main content area, Header and links in the left panel are displayed but the main content area is blank.

Oracle field length error after Oracle patch update

Dear All,
We have an ABAP program wherein we are inserting records in an external (non-SAP) Oracle DB
by means of native SQL. On 22/08/2010, we had updated an Oracle patch in the production server.
After the patch was updated, the program has started throwing error:
An SQL error has occurred: ORA-12899: value too
large for column
"CELLAPPS"."AWLTBLMESSAGES"."MESSAGETEXT" (actual:
438, maximum: 350)#ORA-06512: at line 1
The message text variable has only 219 characters. After some observations, i found that all the data is
converted into exactly double the length after this oracle patch update.

After Effects patch update failure

Hi,
I´m trying to run After Effects CC on Mavericks. I downloaded the patch update (12.0.1) but I receive following alert upon installing "Update failure. You can not use updates. Please contact system manager". I have CC for teams, i´m an admin. Solutions anyone?

I followed these steps but still get the same error:

POS-DM, BIW & R/3 posting issue after BIW patch updation

Landscape details:
SAP IS-Retail (ECC 6.0), SAP POS (Triversity GM 9.5.10), PI 7.0, BIW/POS-DM 7.0
Issue Detail
We have upgraded the patch level of Support package BI_CONT in BIW from 5 to 11 in production server and after that following issues have started:
1.     The duplicate posting started in R/3 i.e. if some POS EoD (TLog) file is already posted from POS-DM to R/3 and if the same file comes to POS-DM again then it gets posted in R/3 again. It was not happening before updating the patch, it used to get stop in POS-DM only.
2.     We have some EANs which starts with ZERO, those POS transaction doesnu2019t get posted in BIW Cubes and R/3 wherein the ZERO prefix articles exists. It stuck in POS-DM with the error u201CUnknown EAN/UPC numberu201D. But this error comes only if we enable the u201CMstr Data Filteru201D check from General Setting in /N/POSDW/IMG. If we disable this check then the data gets posted in R/3 but it doesnu2019t go in RSA7 & BIW Cubes.
3.     Before updating the patch the u201CMstr Data Filteru201D check was disabled and our posting was happening perfectly in R/3 as well BIW. What we understand is that, this check is required to pick the Article Code from masters with reference of EAN number which comes in POS TLog file and then it gets posted. We had written a ROUTINE in update rules to pick the Article Code from masters after truncating ZERO prefix from EAN, because the masters which we upload in R/3 with ZERO prefix EAN are getting updated in BIW without ZERO prefix.
4.    In the T-Code /N/POSDW/MON0, we are not able to change the status of processed transaction from 4 (completed) to 1 (ready) or vice-a-versa. Earlier we were able to do the same. This is required to re-process the transactions after doing the corrections in errors occurred at the time of first processing.

1)Duplicate posting in R/3 : check the 'Tasks' configuration WPUUMS & WPUTAB in /N/POSDW/IMG in POSDM.
2) Write a Routine in BI side to allow EAN's with prefix Zeros
3) master data filter is used to check the data with BI master data. Master data filter should always be used while data posting.
4) The status should be first changed from completed to cancelled/rejected and then cancelled to Ready status.
    Then you will be able to reprocess the posdm data to ISR.

Error - While running Payroll Simulation After HR Patch Update

Dear Gurus,
Below is the system Information
OS : AIX
DB : Oracle 10 g
Current Patch Level : HR : SAPKE60471 (Old was SAPKE60453)
Basis Patch Level : SAPKB70115 (Old was SAPKB008)
Now at old patch level payroll simulation was running fine and with no problem.
We update patches related to HR & Basis.
After that we are getting error in simulation of payroll which is attached here with.
Please let me have any solution.
This is our quality server. We apply patch for calculation tax rebate of Rs. 2000 for employees earning less then 500000 INR / year.

The error says there is not entry in table V_T511K for country grouping 40 for Constant "S80EM"
Employee contribution % NPS.
All you need to do is
Go to V_T511K -> Country Grouping 40-> Create a Constant S80EM- and enter the constant value in the last column-> Run the payroll again.

Keyboard messed up on Solaris 10 x86 after applying patch update

I have run into a keyboard problem on my Solaris 10 desktop. The keyboard is messed up. When I type �root� then it echoes as �eiir�. It is a Solaris 10 x86 system with PS/2 keyboard. The keyboard layout is US-English and type is generic 104 keys. The keyboard works fine in text mode but gets messed up as soon as the graphical login screen comes up.
The output for �eeprom kbd-type� is �kbd-type=US-English(104-Key)�.
The output for �kbd -l� is
�type=6
layout=33 (0x21)
delay(ms)=500
rate(ms)=40�.
Running command �showrev -p | grep 118966� shows �

My keyboard was working fine till around a couple of days back and messed up after performing updates with Sun Update Manager. The patch 118966-21 was installed during that update and so was patch 118844-30. I have not tried uninstalling either of these patches to see if that fixes the problem. Should I?

Problem solved... me the n00b...
After reading the log in /var/dt/Xerrors more closely this time I found that it was trying to load module "Keyboard" for the device "Keyboard1" and was not able to find that module. The log was also suggesting that this module is deprecated and I should use "kbd" instead... Made the changes in xorg.conf and things are good now...

Check Db fails after kernel patch update

Hi,
I've updated kernel 710 to the latest patch "159" on my PI 7.10 system, however now Check DB fails when scheduled from DB13 with a
"Scheduling failed" error.
We have SQL 2005 & I'm able to execute the job succesfully via the SQL Managemnt console.
Also, all the other background jobs are working just fine.
Pls. help.

Since I'm on SQL, I use DB13 just for Check DB.
I've tried deleting everything & recreating the schedule, but it has'nt helped.
Even after rescheduling, SM37 doesnt reflect the scheduled jobs.

Server autoreboot after installing patch update

Wanna ask, today one of my servers was auto rebooted after installing one of the patch. Strange thing is I haven't deployed the patch but it seems to auto install on the server. From the WUAHandler I can see that Reboot Required = Yes. My question
is, which log file that I can see to know which deployment that causes this, that is currently deploying to my servers?

So, taking a step back here, as a point of reference, deployments don't "cause" reboots. The line you have highlighted above is an indication of the update itself requiring/requesting a reboot regardless of any deployment settings or system policies. It
does not in any way indicate that a reboot will happen.
The actual reboot will then be enforced by ConfigMgr based upon the setting of the deployment or it could be enforced by the Windows Update Agent (completely independent of ConfigMgr) if you have not disabled this activity.
So, first, you need to discover what enforced the reboot which could possibly have been caused by something completely different.

Startsap error code 12 after oracle patch updation frm10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.4

After applying oracle patch 10.2.0.4 on SUN 10 platform, startsap gives a error code 12. I am able to start the database but the startsap does not work. This is happening for all our systems for which we upgraded the oracle patch. R3trans -d also gives the same error. Trans.log says invalid user/password but we have not changed any password of any oracle user. In fact we are able to login to sqlplus using system and our old password. Any pointers would be higly appreciated.

IE error after ITS patch update.

Hi all,
We recently patched our ITS 6.20 to SPS 22. We have our ESS iViews in EP6 SPS 17 being rendered by the ITS. For our Pay Statement we have a table in the top iView and an adobe iView underneath it. Every time the pay statement iView is loaded we see the IE6 error popup "Transaction PDF is unknown". Even though the PDF is displayed fine in the lower iView. Does anyone have an idea to why this is happening? Our version of R/3 is 4.6c

MAC OS weird behavior after last patch update

Hello all,
I don't know if this is the right place to address this discussion. If not can anyone point me the right direction ?
3 days ago I installed the OS update for Leopard (the ~720mb one) and yesterday the OS start to act weird.
- It started to lock the mouse clicks randomly
- if I leave the mouse alone very frequently it starts calling the expose functions
- expose stops working from nothing, and together the dock magnifying stops working as well
So, I tried to test some configurations to see if I could find out what was causing the problem.
- Tried different mouses/keyboards - problem persists
- turned off expose functions one by one till turning them off completly - reduced the problem.
Doing those tests I found out that the option in expose where you can assign keys to the expose functions were causing the major problem. Again, the mouse behavior was still making me angry, mainly because I play WoW and that was happening very often when I was playing the game.
I finally decided to reinstall Mac OS. I chose the option to make backup of existing system and install a new one.
All done, installed, let's try it. Problem persists! I just can't belive it!
Ok, let's try the other option, erase entire hd and install everything again. Made my 100g backup files, did the instalation, and the problem persists!
Anyone has any idea what could it be ? hardware problem maybe ?

Might be a good time to boot from your install disk and check the hard drive.
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(*Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
Hopefully Disk Utility will say the disk appears to be ok.

Static library not accessed properly after Solaris Kernel patch update !

We are facing a sever issue in our application after our customer updated the Solaris 10 kernel patch u9 to u10.
We have two static libraries libdlib.a and libDLIB.a, with exactly same code base, but these two libraries are scattered across the code base and linked by many shared objects in our application.
However, one of the shared objects that links to "libdlib.a" library tries to access a function from "libDLIB.a". This behavior is causing a crash at a later point, since that shared object is supposed to access the function from "libdlib.a". Moreover, we found this is happening through the use of dbx.
I'm unable to understand why this problem surfaced after kernel patch update, though still the shared object works fine on Solaris 10 u9 patch.
Flow is something like this :
1. syslogrecorder.so gets loaded by one of the processes.
2. syslogrecorder.so is linked to "libdlib.a" at compile time, so it uses "libdlib.a" function DLIB_LoadLibrary and gets a handle to all the function pointers of the loaded library ( The purpose of DLIB_LoadLibrary is to load a shared library dynamically using dlopen )
3. syslogrecorder.so tries to do a "dlsym" and to do that it needs access to the library handle which we got in previous call DLIB_LoadLibrary. So syslogrecorder.so calls another function from DLIB_ProcAddress, which actually gives back the access to the loaded shared library.
Here is a catch in step 3, it is supposed to call DLIB_ProcAddress from the libdlib.a but as we observed from dbx output it does so by calling DLIB_ProcAddress from libDLIB.a and hence fails to give back the access to loaded shared library, causing crash at a later point in code.
Can someone put some light here that why this could happen ??

To clarify: You did not modify or rebuild any of your binaries, but after installing a kernel patch, the application stopped working. Most likely, something about your application depended on a accidental behavior of the runtime loader. That accidental behavior changed due to the patch, and your application failed.
For example, if there is a circular dependency among shared libraries, the loader will break the cycle at an arbitrary point to establish an initialization order. By accident, that order might work, in the sense of not causing a problem. A change to the loader could cause the cycle to be broken at a different point, and the resulting initialization order could cause a now-uninitialized object to be accessed. I'm not saying this is what is wrong, but this is an example of a dependency on accidental loader behavior.
Finding your actual problem will require tracing the sequence of operations leading up to the failure. You are more likely to find help in a Solaris linker forum. AFAIK, there are currently no Oracle forums for Solaris, and the old OpenSolaris forums have been converted to mailing lists. You can try the "tools-linking" list found on this page:
