Configurable Products : Errors in creation of runtime version of the KBs

Hi All,
While creating run-time versions for the knowledge base objects, I'm encountering several warnings/errors. A few of those are:
1. Config. profile invalid because it is maintained for single-level BOM explosion which is not supported in SCE. Any workaround for this apart from changing the single-level BOM option in config. profile?
2. Object Characteristic XXX not supported in any IPC scenario.
3. Object characteristic Z_VBAK_VBELN supported in IPC scenarios 1,5
4. Characteristic Z_NO_INPUT: SCREEN_DEP-NO_INPUT only supported as of IPC 3.0
5. Characteristic XXX not assigned to a class.
6. Procedure XXX to characteristic YYY is not supported.
7. No Config. Profile exists for material XXX (appl:YYY, class type:ZZZ) - Although the profile has been mainatained.
8. Action XXX to characteristic YYY - value not supported. Where are the actions assigned to characteristcs or characteristic values?
Please suggest the resolution for these errors/warnings. If there is any comprehensive guide or help for these issues, do let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Vishal

Hi Saurabh,
the only resolution is to change the configuration profile to multi-level explosion.

  • Error in generating Run time version of the KB Object of a VC Product

    Hi All
There is a VC Product which needs to be transported to the CRM server via Middleware.
Hence I need to create a Knowledge Base (KB Object) and generate a Run-Time version of the same.
I am getting an error while generating the Run Time version. The description of the error is as follows:
Object characteristic COSTING_LOT_SIZE is supported in IPC scnearios 3,5
    and
Object characteristic PRICE_LIST is not supported in IPC scnearios.
The exceptions raised are STPO-MENGE (Component Quantity) and SDCOM-VKOND (Variant Condition)
Please provide your inputs and suggestions in this regard.
P.S: Once I generate the run time version successfully, the CRM Middleware Consultant needs to download the VC Product to CRM.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Mike,
It likely is the viewer causing the problem. 2008 now has cascading parameters and the activex viewer does not support them.
All I can suggest is you try CR XI R2 which you can upgrade for free, you have to contact CIC to get a keycode to deploy your app, and test again.
R2 is out of support now so no fixes available...

  • Creation of Runtime version for Knowledge base

We are using a Configurable material (CM1) with profile (P1) assigned to it. The profile assigned has the following details (in tx cu42):
       . a. Config parameters – Sales order
       . b. BOM explosion – Single level
As per SAP “<i><u>The Single-Level BOM Explosion setting is not supported</u></i>” when configuration Engine is used. <i><u>But in our R/3 system, the configuration profile used has a setting for ‘Single level BOM explosion’</u></i> (point b written above).
So while creating the Run time version for the KB (for material CM1), an error message comes  “Configuration profile P1 for material CM1 is invalid for Cause 1 - The setting is Single level BOM explosion”
Please help how can the issue be resolved?

    Hi Saurabh,
the only resolution is to change the configuration profile to multi-level explosion.

  • CU34 Creation of runtime version

    Hi,
I want to know how CU34 transaction works properly?
I am trying to create a run time version using this transaction using a knowledge base object and a version.
Material BOM having configurable material and within BOM we have nested BOMs.
I execute with status = 1(released) and plant along with BOM application PP01.
Also some of the material having Spceial procurement production key which is actually does work when you see that in run time version log in CU43 tcode.
    Any clue is apprecited,

  • Variant configuration-- syntax error in creation of object dependencies

In variant configuration when i try to create object dependency (tcode=cu01), after entering the dependency and also description when i enter the syntax in the source code it is giving error: error in syntax check for simple condition
I have entered syntax as  : engine_cap in ('1000','1400','2000'), pls guide me with the solution to create object dependency

    Dear, Shakeer
Please follow along with my very own config guide of variant config.
    1)     Create a configurable Material Using KMAT u2013Material Type. Item Category 0002 and Item Category Group 0002. Go to classification tab-here you maintain the class type 300 and assign the class, we will create this shortly. (So after creating class come back into MM02 and input the class that you create in step 2.)
    2)     Create a class in T-Code CL01. Use class type 300 for Variants. In this we assign the characteristics we will create shortly.
    3)     Create characteristics in T-Code CT04. Create your characteristic like for example, Z_Type, Z_Model, and Z_Color.
    4)     We must create a characteristic for the pricing. Example, Z_CarPrice inside this characteristic we must maintain. Table Name SDCOM, Field Name VKOND in the additional data tab. Also, go to restrictions tab and enter the class type 300 Variants. Now in order to make this pricing work for you, you must maintain (enter) all the values from the characteristics. For example, Red, Blue, Black, Honda, Toyota, GLI, XLI, and 2.0D.
    5)     Now going back to the characteristics in CT04 change mode. Make sure Basic Data has *Multiple Selections circled. * Character Format has 26 and a check in case sensitive. Make sure in restrictions tab class type 300 Variants is present. Go back to Values and highlight the first one. Example, Red then go to Extras->Object Dependencies->Assignments You must maintain this code $self.Z_CarPrice=u2019Redu2019 in basic data make sure itu2019s released & procedure is filled in. Go back to dependency editor and paste the same code there after 000010 $self.Z_CarPrice=u2019Redu2019 and do this for each and every value. Very Important * Maintain configuration profile in T-Code CU41 for the material -> Priority 01, Variant Configuration, Class 300, status, Released 1, then click save. Note: If 2 conditions are inactive use class group A instead of B in SPRO for Condition type VA00.
    6)     Go to T-Code VK11 and enter VA00 condition type. Enter all the values maintained in the characteristics for example, Red, Blue, Black, Toyota, Etc and enter the price then click on save. Now it should work fine in VA01. Make sure you have assigned the VA00 condition type in the pricing procedure.
    Good Luck,

In that guide.... during creation of Content Database source he did not mention any entry for "SES keystore location", and the exception which we are getting is related to "SES keystore location: null" (please look into the exception stack).
    could you please guide us.

  • Error loading control. a newer version needed. the default settings will be used

Hi I am using LabVIEW DSC 7.1 for programming my application. My VI contains NI hypertrend which I am publishing on a browser using the web publishing tool. When I open the web browser on a different computer I get this error- Component works  Error loading Control. A newer version needed. The default settings for the control will be used. I have disabled firewall, pop up blocker etc...but for some reason it keeps giving me the same error. I read the knowledge base and it talks something about the .OCX file. I am not sure what I am supposed to do..I also have the DSC runtime installed in my machine. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me with this.

If you're on a 64-bit OS, OCX files  must be in the folder: %windir% \ SysWOW64
and not in %windir% \ System32 (only for 32 bits OS)
    >> %windir% is  the environment variable that defines the Windows folder! (eg: C:\Windows)

    Hello friends,

At a point i get the following error:
My problem is, how can i find out which PL of kernel 741 is the kernel 380.20.7, i have a doubt that this version is a unicode kernel?
In the product availability matrix, the only correct Kernel for EHP 7 is 740 but this version its out of support. In Mopz i can only select 741 kernel.
    Can anybody help me?
    regards.

    Hi Philip,
if you go to the SAP Service Marketplace and look up for the tp of your current OS/DB combination then you have the chance to press the information icon left to the column "datatype".
Finally you will see a screen which contains the version information:
Please try that for your current OS/DB combination.
    Cheers,
    Andreas

  • Error while creation PR to PO in the background job

    Hi,
Pl help to assist this error. We have job creatiing PO  using PR. there was an error pl advice.
    Short text
        Overflow when converting from "3.47025e+13"
    hat happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLV61A" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW', was not
         caught in
procedure "FRM_KONDI_WERT_826" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING
         clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
When attempting to convert the value "3.47025e+13", an overflow occurred.
    How to correct the error
If the error occurred in your own ABAP program or in an SAP
program you modified, try to remove the error.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
        keywords:
        "CONVT_OVERFLOW" "CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW"
        "SAPLV61A" or "RV64A826"
        "FRM_KONDI_WERT_826"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
        1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
           In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
        Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
I have found another link it says there was an OSS note for this error.

I used a Prefix of “DEV” when creating the schemas so Schema Owners DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS where created. Also, I configured to use the same password for all Schemas: “Password1″. So the password for DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS should be the same, “Password1″.
    REPRODUCING THE ERROR
To reproduce the error, when I launch the Oracle Identity Management 11g Configuration Wizard I am first brought to the “Welcome” Screen. I click the [Next>] button.
Next, I am on the “Components to Configure” screen where I select OIM Server and OIM Design Console and click the [Next>] button. (NOTE I have also tested by simply selecting only the OIM Server)
Next, I am on the “Database” screen where I enter the connection information
    Connection String: localhost:1521:orcl.dev.com
(NOTE I have also tested using localhost:1521:orcl)
    OIM Schema User Name: DEV_OIM
    OIM Schema Password: Password1
    MDS Schema User Name: DEV_MDS
    MDS Schema Password: Password1
When I click the [Next>] button after entering the Database Connection details I encounter the following two errors (1 error for each logon DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS)
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
    TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTE: I can successfully start the Oracle DB Services and connect via the Enterprise Console, SQL Plus, and JDBCTest Java Client…I just cannot get past this connection error in the OIM Server Configuration Wizard.

    The command completed successfully

Whenever installing oracle databases, i install the software only first. Then i setup the listener. Then i create a database instance using the dbca tool. This way all the information is added to the pre-existing listener configurations rather than trying to create the listener afterwards. Also, during the dbca database creation, i supply a full service name such as orcl.hostname and use the service name in future configurations where it asked. This usually solves any issues of the listener or database not being found correctly.

  • Configurable product in internet sales

    hello friends......
can anybody tell me is there any setting required for configurable product in internet sales

Hi This is the case when we have CRM-R3:
    And here is the procedure:
    1.1.1.1     Creating Knowledge-Base Objects in R/3
    Use
A knowledge-base object is a Container for distributing configuration-relevant master data from the R/3 System to the IPC sales configurator knowledge base.
A knowledge-base object determines which objects are downloaded for produce configuration with IPC. Different runtime versions support versioning of the R/3 database for the knowledge base.
A knowledge base object in the R/3 System contains:
    •     Basic data, such as name, description, and status
    •     Language-dependent descriptions
    •     One or more knowledge-base profiles
    Procedure
    1.     To carry out the activity, choose one of the following navigation options:
SAP R/3 Role Menu     Creating Knowledge Base Objects
    Transaction code     CU31
SAP Menu     Logistics &#61614; Central Functions &#61614; Variant Configuration &#61614; Knowledge Base &#61614;  Knowledge Base Object &#61614;  Create
    2.     Enter a name in the Knowledge-base object field, for example KB_BEST_PRACTICES.
    3.     Choose Enter.
    4.     On the Create Knowledge Base Object screen, enter a description and a status.
You can only replicate a runtime version that has status Released.
    3.     Choose Profiles.
    4.     Choose Create and enter for example KB_PROFILE_BP as KB profile and KB Profile Best Practices as description.
    5.     Choose Enter.
    6.     Enter the material or class from which you want to start configuration as the OO class, and enter the variant class type.
    7.     If you do not enter a user interface, the SCE appears with its standard interface and groups characteristics according to the interface design settings defined in R/3.
The User interface field is a reference point for interfacing to customer-specific programs. You can refer to this field in your program to link a customer-specific user interface to a knowledge base.
    8.     Choose Save.
    Result
The knowledge base object is now defined. Before you can download the knowledge base, you must create a runtime version.
1.1.1.2     Creating Runtime Versions in R/3
    Use
The runtime version is a replicable copy of all the configuration-relevant master data of a knowledge-base object that is valid on a specified date. The runtime version thus fulfills a versioning function.
It ensures that each object is downloaded only once, even if:
    •     It occurs in different places in the configuration model
    •     You have defined more than one knowledge-base profile
    Procedure
    1.     To carry out the activity, choose one of the following navigation options:
SAP R/3 Role Menu     Creating Runtime Versions
    Transaction code     CU34
SAP Menu     Logistics &#61614; Central Functions &#61614; Variant Configuration &#61614; Knowledge Base &#61614; Runtime Versions &#61614; Create
    2.     In the knowledge-base object field enter the name of your knowledge-base object
    3.     In the Version field enter the name for your runtime version and confirm.
    4.     On the Create Runtime Version: Basic Data screen, enter the following data:
    Fieldname      value     description
Valid from     <date>     default is today's date
    Status     1     Released
Plant     <numeric key for your plant>
BOM application     <key for the application for selecting your BOM>
Language key     <blank>     We advise you to leave the Language key blank.
Incl. Actions (converted to procedures)          If you use actions for either configuration profiles or BOM items in the SCE, select Incl. actions (converted to procedures).
You can only download a runtime version that has status Released.
If you leave the Language key field blank, descriptions are downloaded in all languages. Missing descriptions can cause errors!
Only actions for configuration profiles and BOM items are converted to procedures Actions for characteristics and characteristic values are ignored!
    5.     Choose Save.
    6.     Generate the runtime version.
    Result
The program collects and compiles all the relevant objects, checks the class network for consistency, and saves the runtime version. The runtime version is now ready to download
For detailed information about the generation of a runtime version, display the R/3 application log. To do this, start transaction SLG1, then enter log object PPVA and sub-object KBMT.

  • Export PDF icon disappears on IR runtime version in Workspace

    Hello,
We have implemented Hyperion BI+ 9.3.1. We are faced with a peculiar issue in Production and I am hoping that someone can shed some light.
We have developed a bqy document that has dashboards. This document when published in it's original format (uncompacted) in Workspace, displays the Export PDF icon on the report toolbar; however, if we create a runtime version of this document (using Dashboard Studio) and publish the runtime version in Workspace, the Export PDF icon disappears.
We have been trying to see if we can enable this icon on the toolbar using Javascripts in the Dashboard's Script section and have been unsuccessful.
Have any of you encountered this or does anyone know if we are attempting to enable a feature that just cannot be enabled in the runtime version?
Any help or insight is much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

We found a solution to this issue. When creating a runtime version of the bqy using Dashboard Studio, Step 7 (Properties) has several Toolbars properties (LAN Client and Plug-in) that are by default set to False. When we set these Toobar properties (especially LAN Client) to True, the Export PDF icon displays on the runtime version in Workspace.
The documentation (IR Volume 5) was misleading. It described Plug-in to be Web Browser/Thin Client and LAN Client as the Client environment leading us to initially believe that the LAN Client settings will have no effect in Workspace.
I am posting this in case someone else runs into this issue.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

  • Detect the LabVIEW Runtime Version in a LV executable?

The LabVIEW 6.0.0 runtime version will allow to run LabVIEW 6.0.2 executables, but errors do occur (e.g. setting tab sheets properties, and some database connectivity routines don't work as expected).
Is there any way to retrieve the LV runtime version by the program such that the program can be aborted when the wrong version is detected?

Thanks Brian, the 'version' property of the application indeed returns the version of the LV runtime driver whereas I expected that it would return the LabVIEW version that created the executable. Indeed, the proper runtime version needs to be installed, but if your exe runs on many different PC's, then a check for the version is preventing errors at execution time.
