Configuration BIW system in SAP ECC 5

Hi Expert
How to configure BIW system in SAP ECC 5  any notes for support configuration BIW system in SAP ECC 5
Regards,
Rahul

most of it is not a Basis jobs. you need to configure source systems in RSA1, this is directly linked to SM59.
for the rest, you might need to install Plug-ins, but the rest is the job of the BW functional.

  • What are the best ways (for best performance) in MII to process the incoming process messages from shop floor systems to SAP ECC 6.0 and vice versa?

    Hi All,
Can you please suggest to choose the best ways (for best performance) in MII (12.2 on NW 7.3), to process the incoming process messages from shop floor systems to SAP ECC 6.0 and vice versa?
    Thanks

    Hi Surya,
Best practices for flow of data from ECC --> SAP MII --> Shop floor & Vice verse:
    1. Send ECC data through IDOC's/RFC's as messages to SAP MII message listener and BSL transaction process data and update directly on shop floor database as if you configured in Data services or later send those data by web service to shop floor system (i.e. depends on Shop floor machines).
    From Shop floor:
shop floor --> SAP MII --> ECC
    1. Use either Web service or fetch data from DB and pass data to BAPI's  for sending to ECC through BLS transaction.

  • File system for SAP ECC, EP , BI and CRM installation on Solaris/DB2

    Hello,
We are going to implement SAP ECC 6.0 with EP 7, BI and CRM on Solaris operating system with IBM DB2 database.
All these applications are going to be installed on single server, as being a basis person, I know this is not all recommended.
But due to client's requirement and keeping cost factor in mind I need to install all these application on single box.
Now here I need your help. as I basis person, I know the required Solaris file system for SAP ECC 6.0 but not having any Idea about other application like EP/ CRM and BI .
If anyone able to help me with required Solaris file system. it will be great help.
Please let me know if there is any query.
    Thanks.

    > All these applications are going to be installed on single server, as being a basis person, I know this is not all recommended.
    > But due to client's requirement and keeping cost factor in mind I need to install all these application on single box.
Why not using Solaris zones/container? This decreases the administrative amount tremendeously since you will deal as with "single machines" but they all run together on one box.
    > Now here I need your help. as I basis person, I know the required Solaris file system for SAP ECC 6.0 but not having any Idea about other application like EP/ CRM and BI .
So you'd need to read the installation guides

  • External system calling SAP ECC enterprise service.

    Hi Experts,
We have an external system(out of the client network) which needs to call the Enterprise service ExchangeRateByExchangeRateQueryResponse_In  in ECC.
As we  don't want to open the ECC port to the external systems we thought of using SAP PI in between.
I can develop a  SOAP to SOAP scenario between External system and ECC using PI.
I want to check whether there is any better  way of doing it without developing the interface.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Rajesh.A

    Hi Rajesh,
If the requirement is to fully decouple the ECC system from the external caller system, then configuration of mediated scenario utilizing PI would be a good solution here. But if it is only necessary to ensure that the external system doesn't have direct connectivity to application servers of ECC, then you may consider installing SAP Web Dispatcher, connecting ECC as a backend system to the installed Web Dispatcher and using Web Dispatcher as an endpoint in the caller system. In this way, the caller system doesn't need to have network access to application servers of ECC and will only communicate with Web Dispatcher, all communication between Web Dispatcher and backend (here, ECC) will be transparent for the caller system.

  • External System Handling Units to SAP ECC System and Pack Outbound DO

    Hi Guru
Packing Is done in External System for SAP ECC Sales Order Before Outbound Delivery Creation.
How to  capture External System Handling Units in to SAP ECC System and Pack Outbound Delivery Line Items.
    Please help
    Thanks In Advance
    SR

Bit of a cart-before-the-horse situation here.
Lets assume that your business process goes ahead and creates a delivery note, but leaves it unpicked and unpacked.  Picking and packing will occur with the inbound IDoc from your external system.
Map the external system data into a basic IDoc type DELVRY0X.  I think the current one is DELVRY07.
Use an inbound IDoc message type SHPCON to carry the external system data into your ECC system.
The process code DELV works well with DELVRY0X inbounds.  It has lots of user exits.  You will need them because you will need a determination process to know which delivery note to update with the external system data.
When you map the handling unit data correctly into the IDoc, the process code will create the handling units on your delivery.  The external handling unit numbers should end up in VEKP- EXIDV.

  • Sender Port Error in SAP ECC for IDoc

    Hi,
I am creating scenario IDOC -> XI -> JDBC with Customer Master IDoc.
After sending it with we19 he said "IDoc sent to SAP system or external program".
In we02 and we05 the IDOC it says "Data passed to port OK".
But in SM58, the IDoc ends in error saying
Transaction IDX1: Port SAPIDST100, client 600, RFC destination contains error.
What I identified that the port SAPIDST100 is the sender port in the IDoc being send. However, for PI we do not need to maintain sender port.
    Business Systems:
    Sender : SAP ECC
    Receiver: SAPPID
    Kindly provide your inputs.
    Thanks
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
thanks for the information that your scenario is working fine.
But i want to clarify some points:
       - If you send out an IDoc from an ECC system, the senderport is filled with SAP+<system-id> by the SAP IDOC API,
i.e.  if your system id is "ABC", the senderport is "SAPABC"
=> your senderport SAPIDST does not match this template, so i assume you entered the value for the senderport
manually in the idoc test utility WE19
       - if you send out an idoc, only the receiver port must be created in transaction WE21, it is not necessary to create
the senderport in WE21, this is not necessary and did not solve your problem
      - the idoc was send from ECC (application system with application IDoc metadata) to an XI/PI system (basis system
        without application idoc metadata
The IDoc adapter on the pi system must analyze the IDoc segments and must know the idoc application metadata,
but this is not known. So the idoc adapter on PI side looks at the senderport to identify the sender.
In transaction IDX1 an rfc-destination can be configured to point to the sendersystem with that senderport
With this rfc-destination  the IDoc adapter tries to read the idoc aplication metadata from the ECC system and stores it on PI side.
If there is no rfc-destination configured in transaction IDX1 on PI side you get the error mentioned in your request.
I assume that in transaction IDX1 somebody configured the correct RFC-Destination.
I hope this clarification helps you to understand the error and the solution.
    Kind regards,
    Andreas Dahl

  • ESS - SAP ECC 6.0/EP7 - Personal Info/Control Record

    Hi,
During configuration for ESS on SAP ECC 6.0/EP7 , I received an error for 'Control Record XX not found' when selecting the Address and Personal Data services under Personal Information area on the portal side.  This occurred for one of our countries not on SAP Payroll.  I created a control record for that country and the error went away.
Does anyone know why it is checking for a control record on version SAP ECC 6.0/EP7? We did not have this issue on SAP ECC5.0.

you can check few things prior proceeding:
Does your connector test after adding your backend system in portal works fine?
Did you define a system alias?
Make sure your SSO is working,
Also check your Jco detination webdynpro tab.

    Measured in System     162     119     6     287
    1.2. Performance Evaluation
The measured times are compared against reference times to provide a rating.
    - If the number of dialog steps in an hour is less than 1000 this hour is not considered.
    - If the total number of transaction steps is less than 24000, the rating for the task is not performed and a blue line is entered in the table.
The table below shows that a performance problem is expected for the task that is rated YELLOW.
Task     Steps     Application Server Performance     Database Server Performance
    Dia     212987
    Upd     86257

    1.3. Transaction Profile Check
The following tables show the response times and the number of dialog steps for the transactions that cause the highest workload in your system. NOTE: A business transaction normally consists of more than one dialog step. As a rough estimate, the actual number of business transactions that are executed in your system is approximately one third of the total dialog steps shown. (Transaction CPIC/RFC is not taken into account.)
    1.3.1. Transactions by Total Workload
The following tables list the activities with the highest contribution to the total workload.

  • SAP GRC 10 - PSS Access from SAP ECC System

I have configured Password Self Service in GRC System and is working perfectly fine for all password resets if access provided to NWBC from  GRC System.
We have requirement to provide end users to reset password using SAP ECC System only. I have tried to access NWBC using SAP ECC System but is giving me error that Menu not configured or roles not assigned.
Currently Maintain Data Sources is configured as below
User Search Data Sources , User Detail Data Sources  & User Authentication Data Sources set to ECC Connector and End User Vertification Set to yes.We are not using LDAP / Active Directory for the User Search Database and instead ECC Only
Can anyone provide the roles to be assigned in SAP ECC System to access NWBC - Password Reset .

    Hi Anil,
In support to Colleen's comments, It seems that you have not configured the USER on the End User Services.  You need to make sure that the guest user (not available in GRC) is configured in each of the 10 services in SICF for the end user Login Pages to work.
Here are the 10 required services to be activated:
    1.)GRAC_OIF_MY_PROFILE_EU
    2.)GRAC_GAF_NAME_CHANGE_SERV_EU
    3.)GRAC_POWL_REQUEST_STATUS_EU
    4.)GRAC_GAF_PWD_SELFSERVICE_EU
    5.)GRAC_OIF_USER_REGISTER_EU
    6.)GRAC_GAF_ACCREQ_WITH_REQREF_EU
    7.)GRAC_OIF_REQUEST_SUBMISSION_EU
    8.)GRAC_GAF_ACCREQ_WITH_TEMPL_EU
    9.)GRAC_GAF_ACCREQ_WITH_USEREF_EU
    10.)GRAC_UIBB_END_USER_LOGIN
    You can refer note#http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1628387
If the user is not present in GRC system then, they have to go with end-user-logon page to reset their passwords where you can always define the user authentication configurations.

  • SAP R/3 System analysis before upgrade 4.6C -- SAP ECC 6.0

    Hello!
Before the upgrade from R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0 I would like to execute SAP R/3 system analysis.
The following functions should be included in this program:
    - detailed analysis of system modifications (effort driver and risk factor during an Upgrade)
    - comparison against a SAP ERP 6.0 reference system
    - extension SAP tools, including RBE and conflict lists (SPAU/SPDD)
    - syntax analysis of program code with respect of adjustement need
    - quality control of own development
    - control of amount of transports within different company areas
    - control of user information, such a user type, logon date, etc.
    - basic control, whether a sufficient authorization concept is available
    - Identification of objects that should be considered for the archiving in oder to decrease the db-size
    My question are:
    - which tasks can be convered with SAP standard transactions what are the names of the transactions?
    - which effort do I investigate for these tasks?
    Thank you very much!
    regards

    Dear Thom,
To know the functionality changes u can refer http://solutionbrowser.erp.sap.fmpmedia.com/
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/business-suite/erp/pdf/BWP_ERP2006_Upgrade.pdf
http://service.sap.com/releasenotes and  http://service.sap.com/upgrade  for functional changes.
Need to consider the following things:
For Reports…it’s custom developed program …so unless there is any kind of change in requirement from the client regarding the layout…nothing needs to be changed…I think it will work fine in ECC 6.0 to…except few things may needs to be changed..so you need to discuss whether they want the reorts as it is right now…or want to change the layout (adding some new info/fields etc) of any report…so u need to modify the program for those…and estimate accordingly…for a medium complexity’s Report dev it takes approx 9 pd (FRSTDSCoding+Unit Testing)…so to modify it will be less than that (depending upon the scope of changes)
Now say for Batch Inputs(interface/Data Migration) using BDC…you need to see how many BDCs are there…again if the field lengths and layouts are not changing…then no need to change anything (except the main thing…..you need to change the obsolete function modules…there are some in 4.6 c like for data upload ws_upload_*** is there 4.6C but obsolete in ECC6.0…there are some new with enhanced functionality so you need to modify the BDCs…and many cases it happens that the whole transaction screen changes for process…in that case better to develop new BDCs…so you have to consider those parameter…look into and estimate accordingly…modifying a BDC should not take more than 1 PD…
Now say for Forms…there was no Smart form in 4.6C…form printer was there..though the same option is there in ECC 6.0 too..but better to go for/should go for Smart form…in that case…it’s complete new dev…so estimate accordingly…a medium complexity’s form should take 8 PD (FRSTDSCoding+Unit Testing)…you can take it as 10 PD too…even if client wants to keep it is as it was in older version…you have to redevelop the layout in ECC 6.0 again…as form printer is even client dependent…maximum you can copy the program associated with that form in the new version too…and your effort will be saved…again you have to consider if clients wants to change the layout too…
Now for enhancement…so in that case u need to see individual cases…for a medium complexity enhancement it should take max 15 PD (FRSTDSCoding+Unit Testing)…
One more important thing is that the Unicode Compatibility…this needs to be done….needs to change the code (variable name) accordingly….also Version management tool is used for the standard programs…
Also pls find the following forums:

    Hi!
    Many thanks for your answer.
Via BD87 on BW system I detect that all the IDOC's (type: RSRQST) will be received from SAP ECC system.
Via tcode SM58 I could not detect any entries.
However the loading status from yesterday is set to "red".
    The errors are:
    Extraction (messages): Missing messages
Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : 2nd processing step not yet finished
Info IDoc 1 : sent, not arrived ; Data passed to port OK
Info IDoc 2 : sent, not arrived ; Data passed to port OK
Can you investigate my issue again?
    Thank you very much!

  • Required infrastructure to enable web service calls in SAP ECC 6.0 system

    Hi Friends,
I'm working on XI, more on part of webservices and as I dont have a good knowledge on BASIS part, I would like to know the steps required to enable the webservice calls in SAP ECC 6.0.
    Blogs/documents could be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

You will have to create a receiver  communication channel of type RFC adapter to connect to your ECC from XI .
u will have to enter the details of your ECC box like
    application Server
    system number
    in the communication channel.
You will also have to create a user in the ECC which you will use in the RFC communication channel to connect.
YOu will also have to create Business System in your SLD  corressponding to the ECC .
