Configuration (IMG) Objects in Logon Language

Dear SAP Experts,
I am currently working on an implementation where, in addition to English (EN) as logon language, we will also be having French (FR) and Portuguese (PT) languages.
Would like to seek your advice on how we can extract or get a list of configuration objects or activities which will require maintenance in the logon language. For example, for Costing variant, Operating concern or IO budget profile, we have to maintain the description of these objects in FR and PT in addition to EN - otherwise the description will be blank.
Thank you for your advice.
Kind regards,
Teck

Hi, yes,you need to maintain in all languages, because how system will know translation?

  • SAP CRM to ECC - SSO Configuration - Logon Language Setup

    Hi All,
I am a BASIS consultant currently handling one CRM project. I need a help in configuring SSO between CRM and ECC. Now SSO is not configured, so When I click on the External Link created in CRM calling an ECC transaction, it requests for Client/UserID/Password/LogonLang for the ECC system. Here it takes Logon Language as same as what I have logged in CRM. Hope once SSO configured it will check only for the userID and log into ECC without requesting any further details. But the issue here is we are planning to have additional languages in CRM but not in ECC. So whenenver user logs in CRM with language other than EN - english (eg. FR), and when tried to login to ECC with the external link from CRM, by default ECC login needs to be logged in with language EN, as FR will not be available in ECC. I do not find any logon language configuration in SSO, how can we achieve this, logging into language FR in CRM, logging in EN when clicking External ECC link? Configuring Logon Data defaults (in SU01) in ECC, restricting to logon language EN, will not help I hope. Please advise.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Shahul

    Hi Srikishan,
Thanks for the response. When user from CRM logged in another language than EN for eg. FR, clicks on external link in CRM, takes to EN, only if that language FR is not installed in ECC, else it will take to the same language in which CRM user logged in. This cannot be controlled in SSO configuration. Is this correct?
In case if FR is installed in both the systems, ie CRM and ECC, but user wants to log only to EN when clicked the external link(to ECC) from CRM, how we can configure this, Is any parameter can control or SSO setup configuration available? Please advice.

  • Create configuration guide with IMG object values

    Hello all!
Is it possible to generate configuration guide not only with the IMG objects but also with IMG object values?
For instance, if we filled in plant 1000 in customizing, then could this value also be present on the generated configuration guide?
    Regards
    Martin

Sorry, seems I was unclear with the question.
I meant the generated word document that can be generated with SOLAR02->Configuration->Generate configuration document.
Here I can download the objects specified in the configuration tab to a word document with the help of a visual basic macro but the content of the IMG objects does not get downloaded.
When I look at the macro in the generated word document, this functionality seems to be somewhat supported but I cannot make the system generate the appropriate excel files..

    Dear Experts,
In SOLAR02 txn with IMG Object assignment when I am finding the Objects , that time from the structure all nodes for the configuration is not coming in the active project. How to resolve this?
I have attached SPRO txn here & If I am doing config from here , Customizing requests are not getting generated with respect to Solman Project.
I have checked with Other projects , there all nodes are coming  & also I have tried with same road map selection in the active project with the previous, though the problem persisting.

    Hi,
Navigation to check the "Inversion" Option :
    1) Goto Tcode: RSA6 at the R/3 side.
    2) Go to that Datasource in display mode/double click. U will come across all the fields in ur datasource against which there are options SELECTION, HIDE FIELD, <b>INVERSION</b>, FIELD ONLY.
3)Check whether the INVERSION option is CHECKED for ur FIELD.

  • Displaying smartform output in logon language.

    Hi All,
I have a requirement in which I create a smart form in English language. If i logon in a different language, The smartform o/p or layout should be displayed in that logon language.
I have checked se63 but not able to figure out based on logon language
    Thanks in advance,
    Gopinath

Firstly, you need to design the smartform in english and make sure the form is avialable in all languages.... and do the necessary translations using SE63 transaction code. ...
    transalation steps:
    1) SE63 <- tcode
    2) translation> abap objects> other long texts
    3) Pop-up, double click on forms and styles, and double click on SAP smartforms and do the translations to respective target language from source language.
    coming to your second question.
Do necessary changes to the control parameter of the smartform to
    cs_control_param-langu = SY-LANGU.
make sure, this changes are done in print program.
If parameter cs_control_param-langu       = nast-spras then it takes the language form the message type, which does not suits your requirement.
I hope above information will help you to close the thread.

  • Text Modules translation to logon language in Smartforms

I have created a text module and included it in my smartform. Now what i want is to translate the form as well as the text module in the Logon language.
In the general attributes for the smartform i have already selected Translate-> To all languages.
    Please help. Thanks in advance

    Hi.
You can easily translate the text module using transaction SE63.
    Just select Translation->ABAP Objects->Transport Objects
and fill it like for a smartform
    R3TR  SSFO  <Name of text module>
Choose the language and here you go.

  • Selection-screen texts and logon language

    Hi all,
I'm having reports with english selection texts (Dictionnary ref. is ticked).
So I expect SAP to translate it in all languages automatically, or at least to use english as default value
But when I logon in german, french, russian .... these texts does not appear with their english description, but with the technical one (S_MATNR, ...), which force me to translate them via SE63 ...
Is it normal ? do we need to translate ALL texts of all reports in dozens of languages via SE63 (whereas the english texts is ok for me for all logon languages) ?

    Hello,
For standard ddic objects also the SAP will propose the corresponding field text.
What u do is in the selection text follow the menu path.
    GOTO--->Transaltion.
GIve the Original language = EN
                 Target   language = FR.
    Now u can see the
    Material
XXXXX - Corresponding text in French.,
    Save and active.
Logon in French. You will see the text now.
    If useful reward.

  • Logon Language

    Hi,
If I have to do an implementation for Japan, for eg; if I maintain the address of Plant and material texts in English.
will the same be changed to Japanese language if I change the logon language when logging on to SAP.
If they wish to print to PO in japanese...will the language conversion happens automatically?
    Thanks in Advance
    Sachin

SAP will not translate your adresses, you or your Japanese collegues have to maintain it yourself. SAP just takes care that standard SAP texts and field labels, Dynpros, menues have the proper japanese texts.
You have to activate international Adressversion
IMG > SAP Netweaver > Application Server > Basis Services > Adress Management > International Settings > Activate international Adressversion
After it is activated, and you are logged on to e.g. Japanese language and start maintaining an adress, then there is an extra button above the adress. If you click this one you can enter alternative adresses in local language.

  • Creating New Logon Language

I want to configure a new logon language in SAP. Can anybody please share the step-by-step process for the same - I understand, there are series of steps to be performed by the Basis team. I would need, all the steps get the language populated in SAP Logon.
Your immediate help would be highly appreciable.

  • Does XI Adapter (ABAP Proxy)  allows multiple LogOn Languages??

    Hi ALL,
I have a doubt like whther we can give multiple logon languages in the XI Receiver Adapter ( ABAP Proxy ).
    For example,
I am getting data in "English" - EN  , "Russian" - RU , "Japanese" - JA etc. Can I give these all languages as "LogOn Language" while configuring the XI receiver adapter? If so how? else, is there any other option for this.
    Thanks,
    Anudeep.

    hi,
I don't think it's possible to precise dynamically the logon lanaguage which has to be used in the receiver XI adapter (proxy).
    [Help SAP on XI adapter|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/99/115281baba404890d2561617a78409/frameset.htm]
Maybe a solution could be in the mapping to have a rule which determines the receiver (EN, RU,JA) that should receive a message or another one, and then for each receiver to specific a unique CC. So in your case to define three CC (one for each langauge): EN + RU + JA.
Anyway I don't really understand the reason to manage that... The interest of logon language is when we want to write a text. But in SAP you can write a Japan text even if you are log-in in English by specifying the Language Code !
So maybe the solution of your problem, is to send to your proxy the text but also the ISO language code linked to this text, so to do what SAP does in IDoc and BAPI.
    regards

  • BW Report Language differs EP Logon Language

    Hi,
I am using a Portal BW Report iview.
The Portal Logon Language is German ("DE")
SAPSSO2 is used for Single Sign On.
The iview BW Report Language is set to
    "sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&..." (BEx Query part)
But the SAP BW system displays the report in "DE" (German, i.e. all english Texts are missing)
In the sniffer trace, I can see that the initial http request is done with "sap-language=DE&.."
    Any idea is welcome

We had an Open SAP Call regarding the same issues.
Sap Support suggested to us to implement SPS11 on the BI System to get this solved. They will allow to overwrite the language via query string in SP11 (which also means that you can overwrite it via the respective iView property).
    Feedback From SAP Support:
Please understand that SPS11 is a prerequisite for providing this new functionality and we won't be able to downport it to a lower SPS.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards

  • Maintaining Text Elements in Original vs. Logon Language

For report RFIDPL06, we are adding a new text element. The button "Maintain in Original Language" was clicked and the new text element was added to language "DE".
Our question: How do we switch to "Maintain in Logon Language" so that we can add the new text element in language "EN"?
The RFIDPL06 original language is "DE".
    Any help appreciated.
We are using SE38 to maintain the text elements. The new text element is in English so we do not need a translation. We need to be able to maintain the text element in English. The logon language is English but the text elements are in German.
How do we switch to maintain the text elements in English?

    1. How you are adding a new text element to a standard report. after getting access key?
If you want to maintain translaction for text element in EN then you need to use transaction code SE63.
