Configuration manager showing question marks???

Hello,
I installed BI Applications Configuration Manager as a requirement for the complete installation of BI APPS. For some reason I get something like this all over the application:
???configmanager.welcome_title???
???configmgr.etlparams_text???
???configmgr.pkgconfig_text???
???configmgr.etlexec_text???
Welcome to Oracle Business Intelligence Applications Configuration Manager
This is just the homepage of the tool. The Manager is fully functional but as you can imagine it is quite hard to work with it since there are no 'normal' headings or links, or column names.
Has anyone had this kind of problem in the past?
Thanks,
Luka

Then there is no specific reason to have an additional DP for just one of the domains. As mentioned, site roles should be divided by locations. Clients use the network access account if needed -- trusts are irrelevant for ConfigMgr client management -- as
mentioned, ConfigMgr doesn't care about AD for management purposes..
Having said that though, you will need 5-10 DPs (given the supported number of client connections for a DP is 4,000).

  • IPhone Configuration Utility showing question mark as device picture

My iPhone Configuration Utility doesn't work properly and I don't know how to solve it. As you can see in the picture, the Configuration Utility shows a question mark insted of the device picture of my iPhone 5 (iOS Version 6.1.3).
I can't find out what the reason is, but I guess it is the cause why I can't install my Configuration Profile (Message: "Profile Installation Failed", "The profile could not be added to the device."). I tried enabling encryption of backups of my device, but the configuration profile still fails to install.
    Any advice?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thank you for your concern.
Unfortunately, I tried various fixes, like changing the USB cable, choosing another USB port, trying it on the Boot Camp partition, trying it on other Machines and PCs, I even restored my iOS, but nothing got the Configuration Utility to like my iPhone...
What I did then was mailing the certificates to myself and by simply opening the attachements within the Mail App on the iPhone it allowed me to install it from there.
Long story short: it turned out I could do it without the Configuration Utility and that the iPhone is capable of configuring/installing the profiles directly when you send it over.

  • Oracle Reports 10.1.2.3 output shows question marks, parameter form shows correct Arabic

    Hi
    Following is our environment
    Oracle Application Server     10.1.2.3.0
Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition Service Pack 2
    Oracle Database 11.2.0.2.0
    NLS_LANG     AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256
When client runs the report on browser (IE), the parameter form appears fine with Arabic characters.
Inserting the parameters in Arabic also look fine and characters display in Arabic but when report is generated, the output shows the inserted parameters as ????
On server, regional settings are ALL Arabic. Also the registry has NLS_LANG setting of AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256.
Report output is same for both html and pdf formats. For PDF subetting, uifont.ali file has been modified but the issue does not seem to be PDF related since the html format reports also shows ???
It is a 3 tier setup hence there is no question of having NLS_LANG registry settings for client PCs that are running Windows OS with Arabic regional settings that match the server.
Interestingly, the same report when run from a different application server having same architecture runs fine. The other application server has exact same version of OAS. Database supports Arabic and is configured as such.I tried comparing the different configuration files on both servers but apparently I cannot find the place where I should change something for the reports to show correct Arabic.
    SELECT * FROM NLS_PARAMETERS
    WHERE parameter IN ('NLS_CHARACTERSET','NLS_LANGUAGE');
    NLS_LANGUAGE
    AMERICAN
    NLS_CHARACTERSET
    AR8MSWIN1256
I am writing this after doing quite some research but seems like I am unable to find a solution to this.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you Paul for your reply.
I think you misunderstood me. I understand that it is all volunteer work and I never said I was looking for "quick" or "sure" response. I did not even use the words IMMEDIATE or URGENT in my post. I found it strange because I personally believe that there are many volunteers providing great support to others and yet my post somehow went unnoticed. In my personal opinion, however, if you do not wish to reply then you should just ignore rather than being rude. No one can force anyone to do the good work that people are doing here at oracle forums and they are all doing this out of choice. Let me also assure you that me and people like myself really appreciate their efforts.
Having said that, I wish you had taken time to read about my issue. There is infact a registry setting that specifies the NLS_LANG and it is already set under both Infrastructure and Middle Tier in the registry. I mentioned it earlier. The value is AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256 and I believe this is correct for Arabic characters.
What is confusing for me is the fact that if browser was not capable of showing Arabic characters then the static Arabic words in the reports layout (field name for instance) would also show as garbage or question marks. They appear to be fine. Since we are just passing some parameters in Arabic language and not saving anything in the database, the DB characterset does not come into play for now. Although the DB characterset is also set to store Arabic data. We are displaying the parameters that we are passing through the parameter form in the output of the report and this is where we see question marks (????).
Finally, if it was a browser issue or a DB characterset issue, then in my limited knowledge, I believe that the report that we are running using the other Application Server that is pointing to the same database should also show the same behaviour. That is not the case as it displays the same report perfectly. Client machine is the same in both cases using Windows 7 and IE as browser.
http://appserver1/reports/rwservlet?admin/myreport           (connecting to db1)    works fine
http://appserver2/reports/rwservlet?admin/myreport          (connecting to db1)     show question marks
Above URLs are examples. The point I am trying to make here is that the issue has to be with the new application server and it cannot be registry settings as I have double checked the entry and it exists in all Oracle Homes ie Infrastructure and Middle Tier. So maybe it is some configuration file setting that I am missing here.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • 2 days old imac 27 inch shows question marks on start up..help~

just got a new imac 27 inch two days...finally opened up the box today and start it up and now it show question marks on boot
won't pass that screen at all...did some research and found no solution..since it is new in warranty, would it be better just to go back to apple
or there is something i could try..any help would be appreciated

    Try this:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • MacBook Pro hard disk upgrade shows question mark folder

I recently bought a 1TB hard disk for my teenaged daughter's MacBook Pro.
I formatted it, used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the existing drive. I even made sure to create the recovery partition.
I restarted while holding the option key and chose the new drive.  It booted fine so I checked in System Preferences to make sure it was selected as the boot device.
I opened the case and swapped the drives. Put it back together and restarted only to see the question mark folder!
I tried booting while holding the option key and now I get the choose a network prompt.
I am desperate and hate the thought of disappointing my daughter. It used to be that I was her hero who could fix anything now I'm the guy who asks too many questions and doesn't put enough money on her debit card. Granted she busts her butt getting awesome grades and I was upgrading her drive so she could continue her video yearbook for her school. So I shouldn't complain but it would be great to be her hero again.
BTW, I am not a newbie to the tech world but I don't do nearly as much in the Apple arena as I do in the PC world.  Then again I've been a senior tech in the industry sine before IBM had a PC.  In fact, my first real work was on a 6502 processor that used the same machine code as the Rage of the day, the Apple ][. All that to say I usually can find my way around a problem but this one has me stumped.
    I appreciate any assistance offered.
    Thanks,
    Thom

I tried to reboot with the option, command P. And R keys pressed.  I heard the ding several times it still showed the question mark!  I also tried the shift option and it only displayed the network selection. Also I tried to press C so I could boot from USB and it didn't work either.
If I cannot get this to work I fear my only other choice is to use a FireWire enclosure. This isn't a good option as my daughter does mostly movie work and iMovie has this terrible "feature" that forces all movies to be stored in one place. It sure would be handy if it allowed movie projects to set the storage location individually.  I suppose I could simply move all the movies to the drive and try to find a way to point all iMovie projects to the external drive.
Unfortunately,  my daughter is one of those Mac users who isn't savvy enough to use anything but the default settings. Heck I've tried to explain to her that she ought to get rid of the big files once she has done her work.  That's why her drive is always full.

  • Mac book not starting it's showing question mark

    Can you help me

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.
Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is, then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions. After repairing use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for restarting from your hard drive.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

  • Dashboard shows question mark for quicktime

when i try viewing trailers in the movie widget, dashboard now displays a ? (question mark) over the quicktime icon.   latest quicktime,
snow leopard 10.6.8....any suggestions?   thanks a bunch

That does sound odd. But if it just started happening today, or within the past few days, some sort of file corruption could be the cause. If you want to test that, try this:
    1. Quit everything, except the Finder.
    2. Go to ~/Library/Preferences and remove (don't delete) the com.apple.Dashboard.plist file to the Desktop.
    3. Log out and log back in to your account and see if the problem continues. If not, and everything else is behaving normally, then the preferences file was corrupted, so you can delete the one on your Desktop.
    Post back with results.

  • G4 probook shows question mark screen after install?

    Hi folks,
I have had to upgrade a silver g4 pro book from 10.3.9 to tiger and somethings wrong...
After the install i restarted as requested and after restart all that was displayed was a grey screen with the same black box telling me to restart.
I did another restart: same thing.
another restart and now i have a rey screen with a question mark in a small box.
Obviously i can not activate or see any other functions or apps.
Has anybody experience or knowledge of this?
    many thanks,
    james

After the install i restarted as requested and after restart all that
was displayed was a grey screen with the same black box telling
    me to restart.
This sounds like what is called a kernel panic. Have you ugraded/installed any additional RAM besides what was pre-installed by Apple?
Did you purchase/use a Tiger retail install package to install Tiger on your PB?
Did you check the hard drive for any directory problems with Disk First Aid repair via Disk Utility when booted from the Tiger install disc before proceeding with the installation?
Did you update your backup before the installation?
Assuming the Tiger install disc remains in the drive, try starting up from the install disc by selecting/holding the 'C" key during during startup.
Select your language and at the Installer screen, navigate to Disk Utility via the Installer menu bar. Select the hard drive located at the very top of the drives and volumes window and under the First Aid tab, does the S.M.A.R.T. status indicate verified?
If so, select Macintosh HD in the drive and volumes window and under the First Aid tab, select Repair Disk.
If any problems are reported and successfully repaired, run repair again until no problems are reported. If there is a problem reported that cannot be successfully repaired, try running repair disk several times.
If there isn't a problem reported or a reported problem is successfully repaired, afterwards repair disk permissions from the same location.
When finished, quit Disk Utility and the focus will return to the installer. Quit the installer and you will be prompted to restart.

  • When power on show question mark folder

at the first time i did not operate my mac mini for 3 months.when i want operate they  like as usually but maybe on 5 minutes my mac  mini off power.now power is on again but when power on my mac mini loading to desktop suddenly appear question mark folder on monitor.

    Hello Jodi,
    Couple of things to try...
Hold Option or alt key at bootup to see if you have boot choices.
Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
