Configuration of IBM 2210 to CISCO 7206 with CIP using Fras-host
We are converting from a frame-relay connection directly into a 3745 to the Mainframe to the 7206 with a CIP to the Mainframe. We are using fras-host on the 7206 and fras-bnn on the remotes with SDLC controllers. The remotes that are Ciscos using fras-bnn work fine. The remotes that have 2210s using the IBM implementation of Ban-Bnn don't work. I can get the 2210s and the 7206 to use DLSw+, but we don't want to do this for network security reasons, so we need the fras-bnn to work on the 2210s also. It looks like the 7206 doesn't see the remote trying to connect. Any ideas on what might be wrong?
The Fras-host feature actually has some quite good debugs (unlike fras-bnn). These may be of some help in determining whether or not the router is actually seeing the connection attempt eg

CISCO 1841 with SHDSL Problem?
Hello,
I´am new in cisco WIC configuration. I have a CISCO 1841 with a interface: 1SHDSL v3 and i want to connect to my ISP over a PPoE encapsulation.
I just make the new interface connection in SDM, but the synchronism with the ISP not work. The ISP tell me that VPI/VCI is 0.35 and the annex is the A.
I live in the Europe, but i think that the annex A is for POTS lines and Annex B for ISDN, right?? My line is ADSL Analog.
My startup-configuration is that:

Connectivity IBM 2210 router with Cisco
Customer have existing IBM 2210 routers, and they just bought Cisco router for their expanded network. So they need to integrate Cisco router with their old IBM routers by connecting SDLC-to-SDLC between 3746 and 3174.
The diagram is like follow:
3174 -sdlc- IBM2210 --ethernet-- Cisco -sdlc- 3746
Is this connection possible? Can be done by using DLSw or other way?
Since I've never handled IBM router before.
Thanks a lot,
ChrisProviding the IBM router can handle DLSW to SDLC, then it should work with DLSW. The Cisco router does convert from SDLC to DLSW, although this is not part of the DLSW standard, but it is transparant to the other end what media the end device is on.

Configuration of CISCO 3502I with Windows 2003 Server SE
Hi,
I am currently trying to configure a CISCO Aironet AIR-CAP3502I-E-K9 with Win Server 2003 Standard Edition.
First of all is it even possible to cinfigure the above device using DHCP so that it can be run as an access point or can it only be used with a CISCO Controller,
Does the server need to be a Win 2003 Ent?
In my situation the Windows Server is the controller we don't have a CISCO controller
I have created a Vendor class attribute on the DHCP pool of the windows server using option 43
The IP address of the DHCP server is 10.203.125.48 but the users are sitting on the 10.203.122.xxx subnet. The AP is currebtly sitting on the same subnet as the DHCP server(125)
I have created an Option Class called 'CISCO Ap' with an option code of 241 on the DHCP scope
Under Scope options I have then created an option 241 option name and under 'Available Options' ticked the option 43 and added the name of the DHCP server IP address.
When I switch on the AP it is blinking green but I get the following error attached.
Any Help would be appreciated
Thanks
ImmyThat error is "normal" because you are using a 3500 AP. This particular model of AP requires a wireless LAN controller (WLC).
You "cannot" load autonomous IOS into the 3500 for wireless service. -

Sender JMS adapter configuration for IBM MQSeries
Dear All,
i am doing a IBM MQSeries 5.2.x Message ->sender JMS adapter -> XI server -> receiver RFC adapter -> R/3.
i have deployed the JMS adapter with the required jar files of IBM MQSeries 5.2.x in XI server.
in Sender JMS adapter configuration for IBM MQSeries 5.2.x, i have put following data:
1. Transport Protocol: Websphere MQ - is it okay?
in JMS provider settings:
2. in channel name - what should be there?
3. Transport Network protocol should be TCP/IP or WebsphereMQ - how to decide this thing.
4. JMS Complaint - whether WebsphereMQ or JMS API.
in JMS Settings:
5. JMS Queue user - is this IBM MQSeries 5.2.x Queue User or someother user?
6. JMS Message Selector - what data to take here.
So if anybody has connected IBM MQSeries 5.2.x to XI via JMS adapter, please answer my above queries.
Regards,
Rajeev GuptaHi Swaroop,
you can send me those documents at my gmail-id : [email protected]
Hi All,
one more question - to connect XI server to IBM MQSeries via JMS adapter in ID, do we need to have a MQSeries Client installed on XI server - or - just by configuring JMS adapter, we can send messages from IBM MQSeries to XI server without any MQSeries client on XI server?
Why Channel name is required in JMS configuration data?
Thanks,
Rajeev Gupta -

Using Cisco WCS with Microsoft IAS
Hi.
I have two 5508 and WCS 7.0.172. I want to user Active Directory users credintals to login on ther WCS. Have a configurated NPS role on server with windows 2008 r2.
I have read this http://zmq503o1.wordpress.com/2008/01/06/using-cisco-wcs-with-microsoft-ias/ and done the same.
I dont't agree with "on the "Encryption" tab and clear all the checkboxes except "No encryption" - wants an encryption connection but this didn't work till in user's properites in AD permit "Reversible encryption". This is not what that I want. Would I need to generate ssl-cert for the wcs as wroted this?http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/wcs/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/hard.html#wp1042471
or doing smth else? thxCamera is only supported for use with CUVA. Any other application attempting to utilize the camera is not tested and is not supported.

Cisco 1700 with MP-BGP and VRF support
I have a Cisco 1721 with MP-BGP Support, you can create VRFs with it and every other MPLSVPN feature, but the commands for MPLS switching are not supported like Router(config-if)mpls ip , I read in some forums that you can create MPLS VPN without enabling MPLS at all, just with MPBGP, but I couldn't do it myself, Can someone tell me how to make it work or what can I do with a Cisco 1721 that supports MP-BGP?
thanks in advanceHere is an example. Take care about overhead for packets like VoIP. The overhead is 88 bytes.
The packet semms something like that.
IpHeader-pub@ - NAT-Tudp4500 - ESP - IpHeader-priv@(vrf discriminator) - GRE - Original IP Header - Data - Esp Trailer.
In this case you neet tunnel-mode because you use
private @ in order to determine vrf (vrf discriminator).
This is a LAB config, all other security parameters you need on a router are not configured. If you add access-list on the external interface of REMOTE you have to understand every encapsulation step in order to well tune it.
Good reading.
The PPT draw shows physically and logically views.
PS, take care about fragmentation issues, the problematic is still not well managed by the routers, I could not made Tunnel-path-mtu discovery work with vrf's. The workaround is to fragment packets. It's not good for performance but actually there is no other solution concerning that.

Cisco 7206 vxr to ASR 9000 BGP config migration
Hi,
I had a cisco 7206 vxr. I have just ASR 9000. I'm going to replace c7206vxr to ASR9000. I can tried to bgp config but I didnt see distribute-list for ASR9000.

My ming so confused. Could you help me somebody ? How can migrate this config for the ASR9000 format?Hello Umit,
The functionality is done with RLP as well. Here is the quick example. (note, I didn’t verify on a life router, but you should get an idea on how to implement it).
prefix-set pfx_acl_12_p1_permit
192.168.96.0/22 ge 22
end-set
route-policy FAR
prepend as-path 100 3
end-policy
route-policy policy_nbr_10_10_10_54__ipv4_unicast_out
if (destination in pfx_acl_12_p1_permit) then
apply FAR
endif

Cisco 1841 with PPP Internet link down
Hi brothers, please help.
We have Cisco 1841 with ATM card connect to Internet . Some days one Dialer interface of ISP is down and only restart router to get Dialer interface up again. I check debug PPP negotiation & see that no inbound packets from ISP.
I really need to fix this issue permanently, not need to restart router to recover Internet.
Thanks!
All line protocol from ATM0/0/0 & Dialer interfaces are up, but Dialer interface cannot get allocated IP addresses.

As line comes up after reloading the device this does not looks like configuration issue but hardware .
Either connection between ATM card and modem is getting idle or some issue with ATM card .
Did you try replacing ATM card with a spare one to see if issue persists .

Hi Experts,
We have a VPN setup between a Cisco 871 router and a Cisco 7206 VXR router.
The 7206 is a HUB location and the 871 is one of the spokes.
The 871 uses a DSL connection to connect to the internet.
Today we've been getting a large amount of logs on the 7206, logs are as below-
Dec 14 17:47:48.326 est: %CRYPTO-4-IKMP_BAD_MESSAGE: IKE message from <IP> failed its sanity check or is malformed
Dec 14 17:48:57.078 est: %CRYPTO-4-IKMP_BAD_MESSAGE: IKE message from <IP> failed its sanity check or is malformed
Dec 14 17:50:33.191 est: %CRYPTO-4-IKMP_BAD_MESSAGE: IKE message from <IP> failed its sanity check or is malformed
Dec 14 17:51:47.383 est: %CRYPTO-4-IKMP_BAD_MESSAGE: IKE message from <IP> failed its sanity check or is malformed.
Can someone advise if there may be a problem with the DSL connection or if this indicates something else.Hi MJ,
Sorry about earlier, it did turn out to be a Crypto Key issue. But I didnt understand how the tunnels were showing in QM_IDLE state een when the keys didnt match.
Anyway thanks for your help on this.

Dear Cisco Expert,
I have problem with portchannel in cisco ASA with subinterface, My asa create port channel two link with switch :
my asa configuration (PO3 == int gi0/1 & int gi0/0 ASA) :
interface Port-channel3

no security-level
no ip address
interface Port-channel3.20
vlan 20
nameif XXXX
security-level 50
ip address 172.27.3.1 255.255.255.224
my switch configuration (PO3 == int gi0/19 & int gi0/20 switch) :
interface Port-channel3
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk allowed vlan 20,30,40,50
switchport mode trunk
end
I also tried create int vlan 20 in switch,
interface Vlan20
ip address 172.27.3.2 255.255.255.224
end
but it doesn't work
