Configuration of Leave Encashment Method in ESS

We are implementation ESS for our client, Here in ESS i am not getting dropdown values for Time Account & Leave Encasement Method. How can i configure?

Make sure you have the correct versioning as per

Now we got a requirement to do Leave Encashment in ESS MSS through NWBC.
How can I do that.? Is there any standard roles by which I can get Leave Encashment Application in ESS ??

What is the benefit of configuring the XSS Homepage Framework for ESS?
Over using standard iViews.

It means you can disable (or enable) the exact functionality your customer needs rather than sticking with the default implementation.
Most customes do not use everything available from ESS or MSS. Switching it off (making it unavailable) is WAY better than leaving potentially unconfigured content to be accessed by users. SAP generally do not handle the error cases and you will get lots of nasty stack traces .....

Error in Leave balance display in ESS

HI all
We are on ECC 5.0 and Netweaver 2004. The problem that I am facing is in the Leave balance display in ESS. The entitlement does not show any value even if there is quota available in IT 2006. Am I missing any configuration?

Hi,
Just check your Config in the SAP. Once you are confident on your setting in Leave of ESS in SAP. Ask your Basis guy to check for the patch level and also the authorization. This you are facing for every employee or for particular employee only.

Providing Calender option for dates in Leave Request form in ESS Portal

Hello All,
Can anyone tell me how to get the calender option for the From date and To date fields in the craete leave request iview in ESS ?
In the backend R/3 transaction, we are able to see the calender option. But it is not visible in the portal.

Go to:
IMG > Personnel Management > Employee Self-Service (Web Dynpro ABAP) > Service-Specific Settings > Working Time > Leave Request > Processing Processes > Define Processing Processes for Each Rule Group
Select your Rule Group
Under Record Partial-Day Absences in you have three options: Hours and Clock Times / Hours / Clock Times
You should select Hours and save the record.
With this, you will only have the duration and clock times will not be displayed.

we have a scenario to populate CC in "Cost Assignment" Tab of IT 2001, when a leave is submitted via ESS. Now we have enabled the additional fileds on ESS and when leave application iView is opened, the CC field is displayed and is defaulted with a CC through an User Exit. But when this leave is approved and posted to IT 2001, the Cost Assignment tab is not populated. However the CC value is very much available in the intermediate table "ptarq_extra_info".
Basically, the CC to be stored in table ASSOB ASSHR.

For some of the employees leave encashment is paying excess for the month of january 2012, we are using Info type 416 for this
Excess amount is as follows
Rs 28.34
Rs 20.59
Rs 12.11
Rs 9.96
Rs 13.99
Rs 5.65
Please let me know the solution

PA - PD - Leave Compensation - V_T556U (give your com test and link to your absence quota)
Copy Wt from MLE0 to custome wt
VV_52D7_B_0416_AL0
In WT Char give days under Timeunit/measure and leave indirect val tab empty
V_T512Z
Go to payroll india - Time quota comp - VV_T556W_A__AL0
Add in PE51 your WT
Go to table v_512w_b and there choose your WT and under cumulation tab give valuatiion base 01,your wt,% Rate 800(i.e 8 Hrs)
Go to pa30 and select 0416 and try giving no.com days and check
This config is i worked in Negative mgt so just try whether will it be usefull for +ve

Need multi level approval for Leave request workflow in ESS

Our requirement is for 5 levels of approvals for the leave request raised in ESS means After employee raises leave request ,it has to be approved by 5 managers one after the other. In standard system only 1 level of workflow and approval is available so please anybody suggest the solution . Thanks in advance.

but not reflected in /133

/130 is update for the month in which leave enchantments entry is there.
like leave enchantments entry in IT0416b is for the month of april and we have to run the payroll of dec.
when we rum the payroll and chcek the log
/130 having the correct value for april month
but its not reflect in dec rt.

If so in SWFVISU transaction maintaain the entry .
Use transaction SWFVISU to prepare standard setting for your Workitem in the UWL. --Parameters for Work Item Visualization in the UWL.

Testing leave scenario without using ESS & using a copied workflow

Hi all,
How can I create a leave request without using ESS (For testing leave scenario).
If we want to use some copied workflow in place of standard workflow, where can we give that workflow number in IMG settings.

I have one doubt.
Approver will get sms for all employees who have applied for leave and when the approver will approve/reject the application how can we identify for which employee he has approved/rejected the leave. As we don't have anything in sms to keep track of the employee. So we need 2 pass something, like unique workflow ID with the sms so that it will return to that particular WF and complete it.
Can you tell me the way. how I can do this. Is there something like WF id n how can I get this... Is thr any RFC to get the same?

Leave a method out of If(){...}

Hi,
I was just wondering if there is a way to leave a method before going until the end like this:
if(){
leave;
}else if(){
leave;
...continue if you didn*t leave...
I know there is return, but that just leaves the "if" and not the whole method.

Ok, I just tried return and it does leave the whole method if I use it just in my little return test, but if I step through my real program, it doesn't. When you do return in a method it leaves the method. No discussion on that (Yes it possible that in a finally block some stuff happens after it but thats not really an issue here)
So it means (like Duffymo says) your logic is flawed and your real program never gets to the return.
