Configuration of SAP R/3 application component in Source system of SAP BW

Hi , Can someone guide me through the installation of SAP R/3 application components in SAP BW. It will highly appreciated if I can get some guidance on it.

I am a beginner of BI and I create a Data Source but I forgot to create an "Application Component" beforehand.
Now I create an "Application Component" individually and trying to drug my "Data Source" to the "Application Component", but failed. It is said that a drug and drop will be ok but I found it is not working.
So my question is:
How to put the Data Source under the "Application Component" ?

SAP R/3 application component issue

Hi all,
My issue: SAP R/3 application component hierarchy node in RSA6 got saved in $TMP package as local object. When iam transporting the request from Dev to QA this hierarchy is not getting transported and all the application components in ECC QA are assigned under not defined node as individual node.
Not only this when i replicate the data sources in BI side in QA these data sources are replicated but come under unassigned nodes because of the missing main node.
So can any body help me in removing this main node from the $TMP folder and save this in a transpotable package to transport that to QA ECC and the same to replicate in BI.

This issue iam facing in ECC side. Unless untill i transport this application component hierarchy all my application components in ECC QA will be under a not defined nodes.
So please suggest me the approach to resolve this issue.

Can not create an Application Component on SAP R/3 system

I have a source as SAP R/3 ( ECC 6.0 ) and Target as SAP BW 7.0
a)Log on to SAP BW 7.0 and used the ID3CLNT400 source system , by using Modeling --
> Source System -- choose Customizing Extractors from the context menu of the source system ID3CLNT400
In the transaction SBIW on the SAP Source system , choose the Business Information Warehouse -- > Post Processing of DataSources
 > Edit DataSources and Application Component Hierarchies.
Choose the IMG Activity Here , I am getting one warning.
"NO Valid Application Component Exists"
When I hit the continue button .
Here when I create an Application Component and SAVE the changes, I am getting the following error.
Package "Z_Train" doesnt exists. Chose "Display Object " or "Cancel"
Because of this , I couldnt creat an Application component and also couldnot load any thing on the SAP BW side. Also , I am no way connected to the "Z_TRAIN" Package

Diagnosis
Currently no application component hierarchy ("APCO_MERGED", database table RODSAPPL and RODSAPPLT) exists in the system. This is required in BW so that the DataSources can be displayed correctly in the source system tree.
Procedure
Copy the application component hierarchy from the Content using transaction RSA9.
In development system I went to RSA9 & transferred the application componet then its asks or pkg name I have given the pkg name also before use the datasrcs , I have transported the same thing to production before transporting the datasrcs but in production the application component herarachy did not get transported I think that why its giving the msg No valid application component hierarchy exists but my datasrcs got transported ,pls suggest me what has to be done
Should I import the same request in to production again
Or shall I run rsa9 again & transfer the application component hierarchy again & transport it to production id I do this will already transported datarscs have any effect in production

To my knowledge you cannot create an application component of your own. Assign it to an existing appropriate app component.

Error: No valid application component hierarchy exists in RSA5

Hi Gurus,
We have recently installed SAP R/3 for BW. when i get in to RSA5 i am getting error message "no valid application component hierarchy exists" . Do i need to do any settings here. When click enter later on, i can see all the data sources under new_hier_root.
And under new_hier_root i have unassinged notes
New_Hier_root -> unassigned notes -> application components.

first we need to transfer application hierarchy.
try this one SBIW>Business Content DS>Transfer Application Component Hierarchy or RSA9.

Why dont you use two selects to get the required information#

Here you will get the link from Application Component to Package
Application Class - Packet
Package - Devclass
Then if you go into Table <b>TADIR</b>
and give the following input
PGMID = R3TR
OBJECT = LDBA
DEVCLASS = package name
you will get all the Logical Databases for that Application Component.
Here obj_name will be the Name of the LDB's

Hi All,
How do I download Webdynpro ABAP application(component) on desktop(hard drive) from SAP system? I couldn't find a feature in SAP that I could use to achieve this functionality. Also after downloading the Webdynpro ABAP application(component), I would like to upload it back into the SAP system. Any ideas?

RE: Application component is BLANK in PSA for 2LIS_03_UM

User perform settlement thru K088. I performed RSA3 to check the data. The application component and transaction key is filled with value.
I checked the BI prod and look into the PSA for the same accounting document. Here, the application component is missing and so is the transaction key. Becuase of it, there is no update on the revaluation to the SOH value.
Can some one tell me why it is happening like that.?
I did a similiar check on my DR system (copy of LIVE data) and does a similiar operation and extract it to my development BI box.
In this setup, both the Dr and BI development shows that the application component is filled. so is the transaction key.
Is there some patches missing in my SAP PROD.box?

2. select NDI and BW options in TCODE: BF11.

I think you're right, and I'm banging my head on for days ... I gave a quick glance at guides (installation, architecture, Installation Options, etc.) on the SAP Web NWAS and I think I found a bit of light!
But I need confirmation from you experts.
On the Configuration of SAP Mobile Infrastructure in Prerequisites section is written that there is need of SAP NetWeaver AS 2004 (including the SAP J2EE Engine and the ABAP stack), so if I understand correctly the installation option for SAP Web AS is Integration = SAP Web Application Server ABAP + Java System. So what in the figure http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=vg3nzmjhiwm&thumb=6 represents only a SAP Web Application Server Java System (J2EE Engine) and non-SAP Web Application Server ABAP + Java System? Or it could be an ABAP + Java System?
I'm thinking that might be missing only the SAP GUI to access the ABAB ENGINE as shown in this photo http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/84/54953fc405330ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm .

Not able to See Application Component

I logged into the BI 7.0 system. In the RSA1 transaction under the Data Sources option am not able to see Application Component folder is not getting displayed. Is there any configuration or settings are required for getting displayed of Application Component. if so please let me know.

Hello,
It may be because there is no file source system created yet.
you will have to create FILE source system by yourself.
just right click on the source system on the above and it will give you option to create and there you can create all kind of source system you want.Here chose file system and then give the necessary information and after creation you can see the file source system there.

Transport Error on Data Mart Application Component

Hi All,
I have to transportthe export data source for my DSOs. I did use transport collection to make sure all the relevent objects are collected. When I transport the export data sources everything is going fine, but the DM (Application Component for the export data sources fail and put the object in repair status).
The 8* data sources are active and available in the myself source system and the update rules from the DSO to Cube is also active, but the info source is not there because the Data Mart - Application component failed. It says as follows in the transport log.
'Object R3TRAPCODM is in repair status. Therefore, it cannot be imported'.
If the object is in repair status, can I ask the basis guys to re-import with over-write option? will it fix the issue. I could not see the repair statuis on the object as it is an SAP component.
Or
anyone tell me how to transport export data sources. I am in BI 7.0 but using RSA1OLD setup.
Anyclues....?

Unable to view complete Application Component Hierarchy.( Its Urgent)

While creating Datasources with RSO2, I am selecting Application components, In the Application Component Hierarchy, I am unable to view the complete Hierarchy, ie subtrees are not available .
Say Under PA-> PA-PA-IO is visible . ie All subtrees are missing under this application component, Including transaction data sources under PA and also Master Datasources under PA-PA-IO. Like this all subtrees under each application components are not visible.
I have checked the Datasources delivered by SAP ie using RSA5 . Here all Application components are available including subtrees.
I have tried with RSA9 tried to transfer the Application component hierarchy but invain.
Please help me in this regard. Its very Urgent.

You can rename your <JDev_Home>\jdev\system to <JDev_Home>\jdev\system_backup, f.ex.
But it means you will lose your preferences, DB connections, ...
