Configuration of the BRAM controller

Hi guys,
Using the core generator, I have put in my design a custom BRAM suiting my needs.
This BRAM :
- is a true dual port, 64 kB BRAM
- does not use EN pins (it is always enabled)
- has each of the port A and port B use a WEN pin of width 1
- does not use reset pins
The problem I have is that my two BRAM controllers (on the data and instruction sides) were generated automatically with my MicroBlaze processor, and they present a BRAM interface that was the default one, and that is not compatible with my custom BRAM (it as EN pins, its has WEN pins of width 4, and a reset...).
So what I'd like to do is configure those controllers so as to make them compatible with my custom BRAM. Problem is I'm only given a very limited parameters to configure in the XPS, and those are not relevant to what I want to do (they dont concern the BRAM interace).
So my question is, how can I configure those controllers to make their BRAM interface compatible with my custom BRAM block ?
Thanks in advance for any help :)

Hi Nazimanasir,
Thanks for your post.
Yes, you need to install and configure the TFS Build Server for your current collection, then new Build Controller and new Build agent in TFS Build Server. And
you need select Run the Service interactively in your TFS Build Service properties if you want run Code UI test in build definition. Please refer to the detailed information in this document:

  • How to configure the GPIB controller in LABVIEW or MAX to send UNLISTEN and UNTALK when each message ends?

In a PC to PC GPIB configuration, one PC is used as a non-controller and it reads either LACS or TACS status bits continuously. It apears that the controller PC does not send UNTALK and UNLISTEN at the end of each message. The non-controller reads and writes therefor times-out.
What is the correct message synchronisation for a non-controller?
    I use Labview 6, PCIIA, WIN98SE.
    Thanks.

Are you using LabVIEW as the controller, non-controller, or both?
NI-488.2 does have a configuration option to enable unaddressing. I am not sure of where it is in LabVIEW, but if you search for unaddressing, you should find some information on it. With unaddressing, NI-488. will unaddress the device after communicating with it.
If you are not using LabVIEW as the non-controller, National Instruments does have a software package called NI-Device that may help. This is an API designed for non-controllers. It does not currently have a LabVIEW interface. It works under C++ with a PCI-GPIB board.
A third option is to rewrite your device application. Your device should really not care about TACS or LACS as you read them from the status register Your device
should only look for LACS, DCAS, and perhaps DTAS (if you desire triggering). When it is LACS, it should read data. After a read has completed, it should interpret the data and get ready for a response. It is only at that moment that the device should look for TACS (and DCAS). It is hard to put a flowchart here, but if you design the flow of a standard instrument, you will see some patterns about when to look for certain status bits.

  • JRE 1.7 / Java Plug-in - Long delay in retrieving the applet File(JAR) due to a request to the Domain Controller(on port 53)

    Description:
A specific group of users/customers (using Windows7 OS with IE and FireFox web browsers) are facing problems with retrieving the applet File, after they upgraded the JRE on the system(PC) to JRE 1.7.0_25-b17 from JRE version 1.6.0_29-b11.
With JRE 1.7.0_25-b17 it is noticed that when the Java plugin requests for the applet File; it sends a request to the Domain Controller of the user, which causes a delay of 2 to 5 minutes and sometimes hangs. The problem occurs consistently.
The current temporary workaround for this group of users is to use JRE version 1.6.0_29-b11.
    Problem analysis:
To investigate the problem the below steps were executed:
    1) Collected the Java console outputbelow details from the user's system. (The complete output is not posted due to lengthy content, though can be added further to this post if required.)
    (a) Works fine with JRE version 1.6.0_29-b11. Kindly refer to Java console output in the code ‘section A’ towards the end of this post.
    (b) The problem occurs with problem with JRE version 1.7.0_25-b17. Kindly refer to Java console output in the code ‘section B’ towards the end of this post. The step where the problem is observed, is indicated as(##<comment>##).
    2) The network settings in the user's browser was checked. Internet Options > Connections > LAN setting
The configured option is 'Use automatic configuration script' and the value is http://www.userAppX.com/proxy.pac
This configuration remains the same irrespective of the JRE version in use.
    3) The network settings in the Java Control Panel was checked.
The used/selected option is "Use browser settings", although values for 'Use proxy server' and 'use automatic proxy configuration script' are filled-in as 'user-proxy.com' and 'http://www.userAppX.com/proxy.pac' respectively.
This configuration remains the same irrespective of the JRE version in use.
    4) The proxy PAC file was checked and debugging was done for the request 'https://myAppletHost.com/download/...'. The FindProxyForUrl function (including the conditions defined in it, for the hostname and domain checks) returns PROXY user-proxy.com:80
    5) The user also tried the below
    a. Changed the option in the network settings in the browser to 'Proxy server' with Address 'user-proxy.com' and Port '80'
    b. Restarted the browser.
    c. Tried with Java Plug-in 1.6.0_29, JRE version 1.6.0_29-b11. There was no problem and no request to the Domain Controller of the user.
    d. Tried with Java Plug-in 10.40.2.43, JRE version 1.7.0_40-b43. The problem occurs with the delay and a request to the Domain Controller of the user is observed.
Kindly refer to Java console output in the code ‘section C’ towards the end of this post.
    6) The user also tried setting the below property in the Java Control panel; restarted the browser, and try with JRE 1.7.0_40-b43. The problem stil persists.
    -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
    7) The Global Policy Management of the Domain Controller was verified by the user. It has GPO for proxy setting but nothing related to Java security.
    Questions:
The problem seems be specific to a particular (user) environment setup, and the user faces the problem when using JRE 1.7.
We would like to know if the issue is in the (user) environment setup or in JRE 1.7.
Could you please help with information/ideas/suggestions to identify the root cause and solution for this problem?

  • Error while configuring ADC (Additional Domain Controller)

    Hello Experts,
I am configuring ADC (Additional Domain controller) in a member server which is in workgroup. while configuring ADC on that server, I got a window saying "additional information for this domain controller", where there were three options, i.e.
DNS server, Global Catalog, RODC (Read only Domain controller) and bydefault first two options(DNS & Global Catalog) were checked. I kept that setting and clicked on next. Now this is showing I need to give a static IP to my adapter, but I have already
given a static IP. when I unchecked the DNS button from that window it was not giving such error. Now my question is if I continue without checking the DNS, will it give me trouble in future. Please suggest. I am using MS2008 R2.
    Swaprakash..

Ensure that you don't have another NIC in your server that is set to obtain IP address from DHCP. However, even if you proceed with this warning, you will probably not have any errors later, as long as you're sure that you have static IP assigned to your
    internal NIC.
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you. Thank you! Damir

  • Cant figure out the IP address of the domain controller

I just started at a new company and would like to change my domain password but cannot because I cant communicate with the domain controller.  I can see it when I do a net view, but I cannot ping it because my DNS server is set to the local router IP
address rather than the DC IP address and the name simply won't resolve.
I suspect if I manually change my DNS server to point to the IP of the DC, my problem will go away.  I asked the local IT guy and he says 'nobody has ever asked to change their domain password before' ???!?!?!????? nor does he have any idea about the
IP and he would have to submit a ticket to the overseas IT desk (where the DC physically resides) and they would change my password manually.
    Any ideas?

    Robr2,
I agree with others about the ONLY DNS that must be set on ALL machines is ONLY the DC's IP address. That's it. Not the router, or the ISP's DNS. This is one of the most common configuration errors that will cause
MAJOR problems with DC to client communcations.
Here's a full explanation with a great analogy:
Active Directory's Reliance on DNS, and why you should never use an ISP's DNS address or your router as a DNS address, or any other DNS server that does not host the AD zone name

    outbound port  is Manual and
    Inbound port is automatic processing
BTW do you have any experience on this...Will it solve my issue?
please visit on your portal (having the System Administrator role assigned to your user) System Administration->System Configuration->Service Configuration->Applications->com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice->Services->Proxy (double click on proxy). Check if the proxy server equals u201Ciltlvt33.tlv.sap.corpu201D.
Either maintain proxy settings, or switch it off by editing field
    HTTP - Enable Proxy setting
    setting it to FALSE

  • Support for Appletalk on the 526 controller (and others to)

I have noticed that from version 4.2x the controller does not seem to pass appletalk traffic through to the wireless clients.
I started to look around for some information but there are quite few resources for the 526. So i started to read the release notes and read the release notes for the 2100 controller and noticed that it doesn't support appletalk at all.
My question is simple, is it common for cisco's wireless products to not support appletalk? Is this maybe an step on the roadmap to get rid of appletalk completely =)

Appletalk bridging is supported in 4400, WiSM, or 3750G. If you insist to use 526, you need to configure HREAP on the AP and HREAP local switching for the WLAN.

  • Converged architecture : when the mob Controller goes down, all AP connected to Mob. Agent are disconnected

    Hello
I configured two  SW 3650 in a converged architecture.
    SW3560-1 is Mob controller
    SW3560-2 is Mob agent.
When I shut down the Mob controller, APs associated to the Mob. Agent reload, and could not join anymore to the Mob Agent.
A debug "capawap ap error" on sw3560-2 give this error:
"*Sep  5 07:51:52.144: *%LWAPP-3-AP_LICENSE_REQUEST_ERR: 1 wcm:  License request failed for AP 7c0e.ceb8.f5d0 - AP License Request timedout, ensure MC link is up, Resettting AP"
Both SW3560 has a valid license for 6 AP
So I guess that the Mob Ctrl in a converged architecture, is vital. There is no redundance.
    Could you please help.
    Michel Misonne

    Hi Michel,
When I shut down the Mob controller, APs associated to the Mob. Agent reload, and could not join anymore to the Mob Agent.
When MC is down, if MA connected AP rebooted that is strange. As Sultha mentioned, without MC, AP won't able to register as AP licence hold on MC.
Where is the SVI defined for AP management vlan ? Is DHCP given for AP from 3650-1 ? We need to find out what triggers MA connected AP to reboot.
Configuring both 3650 as MC is not an ideal solution (make it bit complex & roaming is not optimized if these two switches in same building)

  • Configuring 5500 SERIES WILAN CONTROLLER

    Dear All,
Could someone help me with the basic configuration of Wi-LAN controller.
specifically the 5500 series. setup is to include setting up the Access Points to Communicate with the controller.
    Thanks.
    Jude.

    Hi,
The link below should help you:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.2/configuration/guide/cg_preface.html
Ensure that you create a DNS entry for the controller on your domain controller. The DNS name is CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.localdomain. On your dhcp server, enable DNS option 15 and put in the your domain name. This will enable the controller to respond to the AP dns query.
The link below sheds more light on the AP join process. Although it is for 4400 controller, it is the same process.

  • 3750G - cannot access GUI on the wireless controller

I am not able to access the GUI of the wireless controller - If I console into the wireless controller I can ping the management IP address but if I console into the switch I cannot ping the wireless controller.
I think someone may have screwed up the configuration files - is there somewhere I can download the "factory" configuration from?

To recovery to factory default, you will need to be on the console of the controller, and reboot. Once you are at the user login prompt you can login with recover-config, this will reset the controller to factory defaults. Prior to doing that, hit the CLI from the console port, and issue the command show interface summary. Take a look at the VLAN assigned to the management interface. Then take a look at the switch, and look at Port-Channel 40, should be there by default fo for the port channel to the controller. Want you want to check for is, the native VLAN on the port-channel. This is a dot1q trunk, so if they are tagged the same on both sides traffic will get dropped. For example, if you are using 10.20.1.2/24 for the management interface and this is VLAN 20, then on the port channel you should have switchport trunk native vlan 20, and on the controllers management interface you would want to set the VLAN for 0, untagged. If you need to change this from the CLI of the controller, first issue the command config wlan disable 1, to shutdown the first wlan, then issue the command config interface vlan management 0, this will set the management interface to be untagged. Once you have done this, try to access the GUI again. Once in, you can make the same change to the ap-manager, if it is on the same VLAn as the management.

  • How to configure HA between local controller and remote controller in DC

    Good day,
If I have two Cisco 5508 Controllers, running Software version 7.4, how would my failover happen when the AP's run in local mode, and the local controller fail, and you configured your remote controller as your secondary controller.  Question is, will the APs automatically convert to FlexConnect mode when they failover to the remote controller in the DC?  I know you cannot configure HA as the controllers have to be connected with ethernet copper cable on the redundancy port, giving you a distance limitation of 100m.
    Thank you in advance
    Adrian

    Hello ,
As per your query i can suggest you the following solution-
In wireless network deployments that run controller versions earlier than 5.0, when a controller goes down, it takes a long time for all the APs and the associated clients to move to a backup controller and for wireless service to resume.
The features discussed in the document are implemented on the controller CLI in WLC software release 5.0 in order to decrease the time that it takes for access points and their associated clients to move to a backup controller and for wireless service to resume after a controller goes down:
In order to reduce the controller failure detection time, you can configure the heartbeat interval between the controller and access point with a smaller timeout value.
In addition to the option to configure primary, secondary, and tertiary controllers for a specific access point, you can now also configure primary and secondary backup controllers for a specific controller. If the local controller of the access point fails, it chooses an available controller from the backup controller list in this order:
    •o primary
    •o secondary
    •o tertiary
    •o primary backup
    •o secondary backup
The access point maintains a list of backup controllers and periodically sends primary discovery requests to each entry on the list. You can now configure a primary discovery request timer in order to specify the amount of time that a controller has to respond to the discovery request of the access point before the access point assumes that the controller cannot be joined and waits for a discovery response from the next controller in the list.
    Hope this will help you.

  • How to interface AXI BRAM Controller with Block Memory generator in Single Port ROM(standalone mode)

    Hi,
I initialized the block memory with coe file to use it as single port ROM in standalone mode. So, the data width of ROM is 32 bits and depth of 62000(this would need 16 bit address for reading).  AXI BRAM controller was instantiated in Block design and data width was set to 32.
But upon synthesis, I get following error
[BD 41-1228] Width mismatch when connecting input pin '/blk_mem_gen_0/addra'(16) to net 'axi_bram_ctrl_0_bram_addr_a'(14) - Only lower order bits will be connected, and other input bits of this pin will be left unconnected.
So, the problem is BRAM controller 's interface which has bram_addr_a of only 14 bits. This is strange. I don't know how bram_addr_a width is determined?

    ,
Are you sure you have 62000 x 32-bits in your coe and not just 62000 bytes? That could explain the 2-bit difference. 8-bit bytes versus 32-bit words.
I tried this with Block Memory Generator 8.2 (Vivado 2015.1) and looks ok. Setting up a Single-Port ROM with 32 width and 62000 depth shows addres Width A: 16 in the Summary and the generated files show 16 bit address as well:
    -bisector
