Configuration restore Error

Hi,
I am trying to restore a IPS configuration after a re-image with the same version.
Model: AIP-SSM-10
I get the following error:
Error: Invalid configuration: 'Error: /enabled/password/ -- the value is empty and has no default
Example:
sensor# copy ftp://[email protected]/config.txt current-config
Password: ***********
Warning: Copying over the current configuration may leave the box in an unstable state.
Would you like to copy current-config to backup-config before proceeding? [yes]: no
Warning: Replacing existing network-settings may leave the box in an unstable state.
Would you like to replace existing network settings(host-name/ipaddress/netmask/gateway/access-list) on the sensor? [no]: yes
Error: Invalid configuration: 'Error: /enabled/password/ -- the value is empty and has no default
Anybody has an idea of the cause of the problem ?
Thank-You!
Pascal

I suppose that your config stored on ftp-server was repaired by hands and it contains one more "exit" string in signatures configuration section. Then, after this "exit" string you try to enable signature but sensor thinks that this string ("enabled") must be typed in global config mode.

  • Disk Utility Restoring Error - Device not Configured

    Hi all,
A mate has given me a USB flash drive that doesn't work. I tried to create an backup image using Resuce Pro from SanDisk and it came up with a NDIF file. What I then did was partioned an external hard drive and restore using the image as source and the new partition as destination. 2 seconds later an error comes up saying restore error, could not validate source - device not configured. Am I the only one that has this problem or have I done anything wrong during the process?
    Cheers,
    Keefe

NDIF is an obsolete format. You'd probably have to convert it to some kind of DMG first (Images > Convert.)

  • Won't Restore, Error 29. What Now?

This is a phone which I don't know the history of. It was given to me today to see if I can get it going. So far, when attempting to restore it, I get "Error 29". I believe OS4 was installed prior to this issue but I'm not sure. Here's the details. Thanks for your help.

iOS: Restore error 3194 or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build'

Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com
Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software and ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow these stepsfor assistance with security software.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow theadvanced iTunes Store troubleshooting steps to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information."
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

  • Restore error 21 : what does it mean? thanks

my iphone 4 has its volume control latch broken and when I tried to turn it on , it wont the only thing I can see is the recovery mode. I tried to restore with itunes and I got this message: restore error 21 :
    can anyone help? thanks

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

Sorry, but downgrading iOS is not supported and is considered an unauthorized modification to the phone. In other words, you hacked your phone.
If you had any warranty, it is void. You have also forfeited your right to support from Apple or on these forums.  Discussing hacked, jailbroken, or otherwise modified phones is forbidden here by the terms of service. You'll have to look elsewhere for help.

I had this, and after a large number of fruitless attempts, I had to reload Windows, which solved it. This was of course a real pain, but I had to do it since updating iTunes was necessary in order to get the new iOS version. But before doing such a drastic thing, you could try to restore Windows to a previous point in time by picking a restore point. This of course presumes that you really have some issues with your Windows (which I had) and that you can make a decent guess on when the system was ok (which I couldn't), i.e that you can decide a good date to restore to.

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart

  • HT201442 My appple tv shows recovary mode..and after updating it shows an error " iOS: Restore error 3194 or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build "

My apple tv shows recovary mode in itune.
when I update it on windows 7 laptop through itune it shows an "restore error of 3194".
What is that error And how can I fix it and use apple tv again

This device is not eligible for the requested build (Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194")
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, followTroubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

  • CR10 Dev JRC ReportSDKException Report location is not specified in the configuration file error

I'm trying to embed a simple report into a j2ee application running under BEA WebLogic(without
    workshop)
using the standalone Java Reporting Component (JRC), but I'm getting the exception
shown below (along with my config and source).
I'm just wondering at the cause of the exception, because I can successfully deploy
    this code to jboss.
I've tried moving the CrystalReportEngine-config.xml file everywhere, from the
    /WEB-INF/classes/ folder
to the /WEB-INF/ folder to the /WEB-INF/lib/ folder.
I consulted the product documentation on the JRC and its tutorials but it has
    me stumped.
I went through the BEA WebLogic Workshop tutorial, which worked for some reason,
but I'm looking to do all the coding manually without any of BEA's controls and
    what not.
Any information would be GREATELY APPRECIATED!!!
    Thanks,
    -Colin

    Thanks,
    -Colin

    Hey jestinsinclairr,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you had one issue and then got a second trying to resolve the first. A frustrating situation for sure. The first article linked has what to do if it is not powering on unless plugged in. The second article addresses the error you are receiving when trying to restore.

  • Iphone4 would not restore Error -50. I have tried to restore and it restored it to the point that it created after 5.0 was installed. How can I get it an older restore point from my backups and restore it on another computer? The phone has been wiped out.

Iphone would not restore---- Error -50. I have tried to restore, and it restored it to the new point that it created after 5.0 was installed. How can I get it an older restore point from my backups and restore it on another computer? The phone has been wiped out. I can see earlier backups in my C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup folder. There are four subfolders in this address. I need my contacts, photos, and messages back. I know this is a common error but I can not figure it out. I have ran the other troublshoot items in the error steps for 13 and 14 like apple says. Is there a way to call apple and get a step by step of how to restore from another restore point? Does anybody have a solution????

It tells you to go to Error 13 and 14 if you receive error (-50).
Here is what I have tried...
Error 13 and 14: These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting. I have moved it around to different ports.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer. Didn't change anything.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts. Removed all virus protection and firewall.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.Used the Microsoft fix it.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online. Doesn't matter.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network. I do not know how to do this or how to find the correct/full/complete restore point. There should be more information for this.

  • IPAD 2 Restore errors 4005, 4013

I have tried three different computers ( W7 en W8 ), fresh install itunes on one computer, latest version update on other two, different cables.
    After reading some forums:
    Running Itunes as administrator.
Also manually downloading ipsw files and with shift key trying to restore from file.
Itunes continually gives errors 4005 or 4013.
    Sometimes I get a screen:
(FTL:MSG) APPLE NAND DRIVER (AND) RW
    (FTL:MSG) FIL_INIT            OK
    (FTL:MSG) BUF_INIT            OK
    (FTL:MSG) FPART INIT            OK
    read new style signature 0x43313141 ( line:389 )
    (FTL:MSG) VSVFL REGISTER        OK
(WMR:MSG) METADATA WHITENING IS SET IN NAND SIGNATURE
    (FTL:MSG) VFL INIT            OK

    (FTL:MSG) FTL_OPEN            OK
    (NAND) _publishServices:642 FTL capabilities: 0x00000000

If you are getting the same error codes with different cables and computers then contact Apple, it may have a hardware problem : iOS: Restore errors 4005, 4013, and 4014 :
If you continue to see error 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your device, contact Apple for support.
