...In the same way you 'installed' the Solution Manager 7.1 i.e. by Referring the SAP guides available at OSS.
You must had downloaded the 'Installation Guide' from OSS to 'install' the solman, similarly you will have to download the 'Configuration Guide' from OSS to 'Configure' the Solman.

  • CCMS monitoring configuration in SOLMAN

    Hi All,
I am doing CCMS configuration in SOLMAN can anyone please resolve my below doubt
1: Is there any extra memory sapce requirement ?
i dont think it would be require ?
2: We want to execute a script or unix command when alert is triggered thru CCMS. How to do that?
    BR
    Vyash

    Hi,
Are you trying to setup monitoring for your Solution Manager system on it's own, or setting up monitoring on Solution Manager which will act as the CCMS CEN?
This link from SAP Help has the step by step instructions on how to assign the OS command to an autoreaction method and then assigning that on to an MTE class and MTE.
If you're setting up the CEN, it's slightly different. Create a new auto-reaction method.
    1.     Transaction: rz21
    2.     Goto: technical infrastructure - configure central system - assign central autoreactions
    3.     In 'defined central autoreactions' window: Select u2018newu2019
    4.     In the copy box, search for "CCMS_AUTO_REACT_OP_COMMAND"
    5.     Create a copy of this method. Complete the information:
    6.     Name: Z_UNIX_SCRIPT
    7.     In the parameter tab, enter the logical name for the command u2018Z_UNIX_SCRIPT_TO_DO_XYZ'.
    8.     Setup the Executable tab as below. This will be the detault.
    9.     Setup the control tab as below. This will ensure the alert is processed automatically.
Execute method : Periodically in dialog process
Startup Method: Execute method immediately - on all application servers
    Save
You then need to assign the autoreaction
From the Manage Central Autoreactions screen. Select the system to monitor, the MTE class to monitor and the central autoreaction method, then press u2018Assign Central Autoreactionu2019 button. This will make the necessary CCMS updates to start monitoring.

  • Can a T520i that was configured without an mSATA drive have one added?

I have a T520i (4242 4UU) that was configured without an mSATA drive. Can I add one to it and migrate my Windows (7 Pro 64 bit) partitions to it? (My HD has apparently lost on of the windows partitions so I'll have to do a full installation anyway). Will I have to get drivers first to support the 4 kilo-byte sectors?   (my T520i was originally purchased in November 2010 and AFAICD,  Lenovo did not add the ability to handle 4kb sectors until December 2010) or will just upgrading the BIOS suffice?    Is there any way to upgrade the BIOS from a DVD  or USB zip without a hard disk or operating system functioning?     If not, will I have to first install a temporary HD, install windows, upgrade the BIOS and THEN migrate windows to the mSATA? Am I correct in assuming that the new SATA III mSATA SSDs with be backwards compatible with a T520i?

    Hi
You can perform BIOS upgrade from CD/DVD media:
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t520i/downloads/DS018809
Prepare that media on any system with CD/DVD drive attached.
You can install new system on the msata drive from scratch or by entire HDD cloning.
4k sectors trouble isn't actual for modern (upgraded) system and drives.
msata drives with SATA III interface are backward compatible with T520 msata slot.
Note the drive should be in the msata formfactor, not modern m.2.

  • Refresh HTTP Sender configuration without reboot on MDM 2.0.1

    Hello,
I've noticed that when I try to change a XAI HTTP Sender parameter (i.e. HTTP URL 1), the new parameter does not take effect until the server is restarted.
Is there anyway to refresh the Sender configuration without restarting the server?
    Thanks.

That's the reason you use 'MPL Refresh Sender' option, to release/refresh all the Sender definitions. Make sure to provide the correct port number.

  • My SLD is configured in SOLMAN sys, How can I connect it with SAP PI system

    Dear Friends
My Basis has configured SLD in Solman, Now I cant use SXMB_IFR tcode in my PI that suggest me some error. saying "error in connection cant read secure connection config" or something like that.  Plus SLDCHECK tcode is also not happy. it suggest that RFC connections are missing.
It is clear that My SLD is not linked with PI system. something is missing in technical system part and its not even bridged. but since I am not a BASIS guy I dont know How can I configure it. Not even my BASIS guy understands that I need to bring SOLMAN SLD to PI.
Can anyone suggests me How can I bring my SOLMAN SLD to PI system so I can run SXMB_IFR tcode ? I need to create some rfc connection like LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI but dont know the connection type like t, or something else. Please englight me by suggesting How can I bring my SOLMAN SLD to PI.
One intresting observation is when I try to run my SLD over url using PI system as host it comes but says SLD is not configured properly and when I did the same practice with SOLMAN host it works fine and I didnt receive any error.
Please reply me. your any help will be appreciated greatly.
    Regards
    Naeem

    Hi,
Preferebly PI should have it's own SLD. And SOLMAN could use PI's SLD.
Please check Installation guide and SLD Administration Guide from Service Market place before finalizing SLD architecture in your System landscape.
I guess SOLMAN will have only one Instance in system landscape. (Not three system landscape like Dev, Qa, Prod).
If you want to go ahead with your current SLD plan, then Change your SLD hostname in Exchange Profile of PI, to SOLMAN Host name.

  • How can I add an iPad to Apple Configurator without losing the user's settings, folders, etc?

When attempting to add an iPad that has already been in use (for some time) by a particular user into Apple Configurator, I end up having to either wipe the iPad entirely as if it is a new iPad, or restore the user's settings and configuration from iCloud during mini-setup. It seems to be one choice or the other.
Is there a way to add the "old" iPad into Apple Configurator for management purposes yet still be able to restore the user's settings from iCloud? That is - items like: folders, pictures, email settings, app data?

    nsdjoey wrote:

This isnt true. Connecting an unsupervised device to configurator and supervising it will wipe the device, there is no way around that. You can attempt an iCloud restore from here, but anything not backed up prior to supervising the device will be erased when supervising it. I have never tried to restore data from an unsupervised iPad so I have no clue if everything will come back.
Let me clarify... You can successfully restore an iCloud backup of an unsupervised iPad to a new (i.e. different) iPad and have it Supervised with data intact. The process below will allow Configurator to Supervise a device without wiping it when an iCloud backup from a different unsupervised iPad is restored to it.
Try it… Get 2 new unsupervised iPads… we'll call them iPad "A" and iPad "B." Take iPad "A" and install a few apps, take a few photos, change the background, create a new document in Pages, etc. Run an iCloud backup of iPad "A" using your Apple ID. This is our unsupervised backup of iPad "A."
Now take new unsupervised iPad "B" and start running through the setup assistant. When you get to the restore screen, choose to restore from iCloud backup. Log in with your Apple ID. Select the backup for iPad "A." The backup will restore and then the iPad will restart. Once it restarts, you get to a "Hello" screen on the iPad. At this point, plug the iPad into your Configurator computer. On the Prepare screen, turn Supervision ON and select "Don't restore backup." Click Prepare.
Configurator will not wipe the iPad. It will run through the supervision process but not wipe it. Once complete, you'll see that iPad "B" is now exactly the same as iPad "A", but if you go to Settings -> General -> Profiles on iPad "B" you will see a Supervision profile installed.
The key here is to use a different iPad from the originally backed up iPad. You can't restore the backup of iPad "A" to iPad "A" again and supervise it without wiping it. But you can take the backup of unsupervised iPad "A" and restore it to iPad "B" and retain apps, data, and settings of iPad "A" but with the Supervision profile.
    Hope this clarifies things!
    ~Joe
I see where your going with that. I dont have any way to reproduce this scenario in my environment, but I will take your word for it that this works. I have only ever plugged in an unsupervised device to configurator and gone through the setup, which always wipes the device. If your saying theres a way around that you should give that a shot OP.

  • Creating Support Messages from Satellite System without SolMan user account

    Hi
We are having some problems with users "creating support message" from our ECC system  to SolMan, if the user does not have a user account in Solution Manager.
It is not correct, that users from Satellite systems can create support messages from these systems, without the user having an account in Solution Manager? And that the user is identified by the business partner for the user, that must exist in the Solution Manager system ?
We have set up the RFC for the supportmessages between SolMan and the ECC system as trusted RFC, with the "Current user" as the user, but how should this be set up, if the user does not have an account in the Solution Manager system. If we enter a user with the right authorizations in the RFC, will the messages that come through not just appear as created by that user, instead of the ECC user and corresponding business partner ?
    Regards
    Lars

    Hi,
you can use the use the user for the RFC-Connection in that case. I have customizied a similar scenario. In my scenario the System from which the message was created, is the business partner (SOLD-TO-PARTY). For that you have to create a communication user (i.e SOLMAN<SYSID>). In TA SM59 in the satellite-system you assign this user for the connection. (Don't forget to assign the user to the role "SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_ADMIN"). Now, it schould be possible to create messages from the satellite system to the solution manager. Additionally you should create business-partner for each user of the satellite system, by using TA DSWP>EDIT>CREATE BUSINESS PARTNER.
With this TA, it is easy to create BP for each satellite system.
    Best regards
    Marc

  • Solution Manager 7.1 upgrade or configuration in Solman 7.0 EHP1

    Hi,
We have a Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 and there is a project now to configure several functionalities on it such as Charm and Services desk among others.  We have the option of configuring all the functionalities in SOlman 7.0 EHP1 or upgrading to 7.1 and then configure the functionalities in the new version.
I would like to know if anybody has implemented an upgrade of Solman 7.0 EHP1 to Solman 7.1 with some functionalities implemented.
I would like as well if in the fact the the Solman 7.0 EHP1 has several functionalities implemented complicates the upgrade to Solman 7.1. The fact that the upgrade is more complicated due to all the functionalities configured, would be important factor  to upgrade to 7.1 instead configure it in 7.0 EHP1.
Any information about this would be appreciated.
    Many thanks in advance!
    Raquel

Newer functionality and more holistically speaking, an ALM Tool, arguably one of the best in the market should be more than enough to take you to 7.1
if all you have is EWA, there is no major risk associated, the new 7.1 has new transaction types for ChaRM and Service Desk, the functionalities of which are better rounded and can support more enterprise wide processes.
Graphical Business Blueprint tool, my favorite feature in 7.1 and enhanced features in Project Implementation tools will only help you manage your implementations/support projects better.
If all you have is EWA, I have half a mind to ask you to do a fresh install, and not bother with the upgrade. Saves you time and lot of effort as well.

Hugo Amo is correct, you have to check the wily configuration on solman_setup 3.1 (Configure CA wily Introscope), there you can see the status of connection between solman and wily.
for a correct configuration just follow that steps:
    1.- click on edit button
2.- click on "import exiting Installation"
3.- on popup enter the path where wily is installed like F:\usr\sap\ccms\instroscope
4.- click on user management and select flag for connection user
    5.- save
you have to get the status green like this one

  • Verification of recvr file channel  configuration without sending a message

    Hi,
We need to test the configuration((such as directory, filename etc.,) of a receiver file channel. As we all know, in the case of sender channel, since it will keep polling the directory configured, if there is any incorrect directory, it will be indicated in the run time work bench, EVEN IF THE MESSAGE HAS NOt GONE THROUGH THE SENDER FILE CHANNEL. However in the case of receiver file channels, UNLESS THE MESSAGE GOES THROUGH THE RECEIVER FILE CHANNEL, we won't be able to identify the incorrect directory configuration.
Thus, please let me know as to how to identify the incorrect directory configuration in the case of RECEIVER FILE CHANNELS, without sending any message through the same.
    I appreciate your early response.
    Regards
    Venkat

    Hi,
AFAIK you can check whether the channel is Started/ Stopped (in RWB), check whether correct parameters are filled in the CC (by visual inspection)....but unless and until you test the scenario you may not know whether the CC is properly working or not....somethimes there is a case that you are asked to pay for each and every message that is sent using XI...is this your case?....if not then you can go ahead and test it end-to-end as Dharamveer said.....
If you get the solution (as you need) then dont forget to share with us

  • Charm configuration in solman 4.0 SP14

    Hello Gurus,
I have to do Charm (Change Request Management) configuration in my landscape of
    SED-- SEQ,STQ-- STP.
    Solman - STM
Can anyone of you please provide me step by step detail for this.
    Thanks in advance
    Jain Pankaj

    I am doing Charm configuration
i am using Dolores Correa's Blog
    /people/dolores.correa/blog/2008/07/26/first-steps-to-work-with-change-request-management-scenario
Landscape i am using for  Charm config.
    SED:030 -
    > SEQ/275 -
    STP/275  ,Domain Controller is STP ( DOMAIN_SED)
Solman --- STM:100 ,  Solman is in the same domain,Domain Controller is STP ( DOMAIN_SED)
    My doubts :
Spro- Solution manager- Configuration u2013 Senario Specific Settings Change Management-Transport Management System-> Generate RFC connection to 000
Question 1- This RFC has to be genrated from solman STM:100 to Domain Controler (STP/000) ?
    or STM:100 to all systems ( SED:000 , SEQ:000 ) in my landscape ?
Spro- Solution manager- Configuration u2013 Senario Specific Settings Change Management-Transport Management System-> Add Import Authorization to Operator/Administrator
    i. Make sure that the operator and administrator users in client 000 of the target systems have the same name as their user in the Solution Manager  system.
ii. Assign import authorization to the operator and administrator users in client 000 of the target systems (SAP_CHANGEMAN_OPERATOR and SAP_CHANGEMAN_ADMIN roles).
Question 2. what is operator or administrator user
is that my user ex. PJAIN ( the one who is configuring Charm ) or any other user ?
Spro- Solution manager- Configuration u2013 Senario Specific Settings Change Management-Transport Management System->Set Project Assignment of Requests as Mandatory
TMWFLOW/CMSCONF --->Check the entries in the Proj. Assignment column
    System of Proj          Project Assigmnet
    SED :030                   optional
if  i change this to "mandatory"
Question 3 will this avoid users creating transport orders directly in dev system ( SED:030) ??
as users are workin in dev system , and if i change this to madatory user wont b able to create change request in dev system ( SED:030 ) till the time configuration of  Charm gets over by me ,
and if i stuck in some error during charm configuration , no user wil be able to create change request in SED:030 ??
    Please advice
