Configurations done at SAP gui level to print in duplex mode

Hi Gurus,
We had a requirement to convert a printer to duplex mode, we changed all the settings at SAP level( kept duplex mode in printing mode and changed device type to SWAN (as post and pre2 device types are not available) ). But still we are not able to get the desired duplex mode.
Is there are any further settings or something done in server?
Is there any settings done at SAP gui to get the print as duplex from a report?

Hi experts,
I need to print on duplex mode ABAP list documents. My printer works with HPLJ4 PCL5 driver (ricoh Aficio 3045) on SAP but when i try to print on duplex mode (the printer properties are set to print on duplex by default) i can't get it.
I don't use Smart forms. On SPAD i have created a new device, the acces metod is F: Printing on front end computer, the device type copy of original HPLJ4 to test it, but i only can get paper printed simplex.

The duplex settings in SPAD only work for device types that have the special list driver, Try using device type HPLJ4000 instead of HPLJ4 and create a new spool.

Need Help...HP x476dw Printer and Duplex Mode

My printer won't stop printing in duplex mode. I have disabled all duplex settings and it's still printing double sided. Don't know where else to look????

From all of your apps or from one of them? Where have you disabled the settings? There are setting for page layour in apps (usually set to one page) and page settings on the HP (sest to duplex by default if my memory serves me on setup).

SmartForm Last Page to be printed in Duplex mode

I have a requirement in PO printout where the Last page containing the Terms and Condition to be printed on Duplex mode.
Suppose the PO is taking 4 pages without Terms and condition. then the TC must be printed on the backside of the 4th page.
My smartform contains 3 Pages 'First', 'Next' and 'TC'.
If i set page 'Next' duplex then the 3rd page is getting printed on the back side of the 2nd page.
So how can i Print the TC page on the backside of the Last Page.

SAP GUI 7.20 printing - unreadble symbols

Recently we have uninstalled SAP GUI 7.10 and installed SAP GUI 7.20.
Now we have a problem with printing from the new SAPGUI. We get unreadable symbols from the workstation with Russian localization.
Earlier in SAPGUI 7.10 we resolved this problem simply by setting valid FontName and Character Set in Font Substituion Opton in SAPLPD.
But now SAPLPD uninstalled together with SAPGUI 7.10.
How can we resolve the same problem in SAPGUI 7.20?

Canon ip4300 - Printing Properties, Duplex Mode

Hi! Where can I activate the Duplex Mode? At Tiger it was no Problem, by using the standard driver. When I clicked on print button in menue (or APPLE + p), there were several options, for example the duplex mode. At Leopard there are no options, there ist just a print button. I use the newest driver from the Canon webpage. What can I do? Does anybody know the problem?

Have you used the blue disclosure triangle next to the printer's name to expand the Print dialog?

SAP GUI 7.20 Printing Issues

Good afternoon,
We have been upgrading all of our users to the 7.20 GUI and have recently come across an issue that we would like some guidance on.
Using Transactions CC03/CC02 for example, the user is trying to print off a Business Document. The the new GUI, the user does not have the print icon anymore; however a user with the 7.10 GUI still has the print icon.
The users are both using Windows 7 64-bit and MS Office 2010. The only difference between their computers is the GUI.
We have loaded the "gui720_7-10007878.exe" onto a computer and still acquire the same results. We have also tried using a 32-bit System with the same results.
I did find Note 1466621, but I'm not sure if this is the same issue.
Any assistance/guidance that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.

I tried with 7.10 and as far as I can see, the print icon is greyed out in the toolbar with patch 20.
What patchlevel had you been using in 7.10 that worked before?
Can you possibly upload a small screenshot of the issue for clarification please?

How can i modify my report to print in duplex mode ?

Hello, I have a report to print orders (i use vb6 and CR XI-R2 at runtime with CrystalActiveXReportViewer object) but now i must print the payment conditions on the back of each order. What is the way to modify my report to do that.
(Is there somewhere examples of duplex printing report?).

SAP GUI 710 installation with BW 3.5 addon - BW Browser has disappeared

Dear all,
I hope someone can help with a BW 3.50 add-on problem following SAP GUI patching.
I'm doing a local installation of SAP GUI 710 Compilation 3.
I have selected the following three options:
1. SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 (Compilation 3)
2. BW 3.50 Add-On for SAP GUI 7.10
3. Business Explorer
(We require both BW add-ons for version reasons.)
Following this I have applied the SAP GUI Level 13 Patch (gui710_13-10002995.exe).
Up to this point, everything works as expected and I can still see the BW Browser at Start --> Programs --> Business Explorer --> Business Explorer (SAP BW 3.x) --> Browser (SAP BW 3.x)
However, when I apply the BW 3.50 Add-On Level 6 Patch (bw350gui710_6-10004473.exe) the Browser disappears from the menu and I can't locate it anywhere. A reboot wasn't required although I did this anyway with no visible effect.
I did try uninstalling everything and attempted the same process, but with SAP GUI Patch Level 12, and combinations with BW 3.50 Add-On Patch Level 4 but with the same result.
Has anyone else come across this issue, or know what has happened?

We have a similar setup, utilizing all 3 as you do.
Since we are currently at Browser patch 4, eventually headed to patch 6, I threw your situation into our VM enviroment and tested the installation of Browser patch 6. Interesting enough, a clean install of Windows XP, Office 2003, and then GUI 7.10 with patch 13 and Browser 3.5 sp4 works as normal. Once I applied SP6 for the Browser, I still have the icon under the Start menu but the wdbbapp.exe is gone.
Thanks to the VM test enviroment, I was able to recreate the scenario in a few moments and this time prior to installing the patch 6 for the Browser, I set it up to catch all the changes the SAP installer makes when applying sp6.
The installation performed the following activity:
13 files added
4 files deleted
141 files updated
363 registry entries added
522 registry entries deleted
129 registry entries updated
Of the 4 files deleted, one of them is the BEx Browser (wdbbapp.exe) - which is why my shortcut won't work
Of the 13 added, none of them are the file being replaced.
Of the 141 modified, none are this file either.
I am still going through the log but have not seen anywhere it will make a difference if the file is not there.
Again, I am not saying there is a problem, perhaps they changed the way it is accessed, I am not fully up on the process of the BEx Browser. SAP may have something mentioned about it on their GUI/BEx site or a note, this is just my preliminary findings.

Printing in TUMBLE mode not working

I have the problem that the TUMBLE mode does not work in my program.
I have tested the printer with MS Word to be sure it works with my hardware and
it succeeded.
I use a DocPrint Object and specified the PrintRequestAttributeSet attributes OrientationRequested.LANDSCAPE and Sides.TUMBLE (=Sides.TWO_SIDED_SHORT_EDGE).
If I change this to Sides.ONE_SIDED, the printer correctly prints each pair of sides on 2 papers (one-sided).
If I change this to Sides.DUPLEX, the printer prints in DUPLEX mode correctly (TWO_SIDED_LONG_EDGE)
If I change this to Sides.TUMBLE, it still prints in DUPLEX !
If I use OrientationRequested.PORTRAIT, the printer prints always binding to the short side , like I need it (no matter if I switch to DUPLEX or TUMBLE).
What could be the reason that the program ignores the TUMBLE attribute ?

Yes, it's not a permission issue. And it only happens on this one machine too. No error messages in any of the log files. This is a real tough one. I'm tempted to think that it might be a graphics driver issue. The machine with the problem is a 2008 Mac Pro with a GeForce 8800 GT. So if anyone with a similar configuration could test it I'd at least have another hint for what's going on.
As an interesting sidenote, other capture applications like Voila work fine, which makes the graphics driver theory unlikely, but well, I'm running out of possible causes.

HP Laserjet M1212NF USB no longer printing in manual duplex mode

Hello All,
I am currently having issues with my HP LaserJet M1212NF printer connected via USB. First, basic system information:
Windows 7 64-bit
Now, some backstory:
The printer was initially setup using Network installation. Then, I moved and could no longer access the network, so I deleted it from the Windows Device and Printer area and reinstalled it as a USB perinter. I installed all the updated drivers and Firmware updates. The printer now CANNOT print in duplex mode. I choose Manual Duplex in the printer settings AND when I print a multipage document. The printer simply prints the document normally, with no duplex. Please help. I've googled the problem, but have come up empty handed.

You can set the two sided option two different ways. Try both to see if it makes a difference.
To set the two sided printing for all print jobs.
Go to start, devices and printers, right click the printer, left click printer
properties, click on the finishing tab and check Print on both sides, (manually) apply and OK.
To set the two sided printing for 1 job.
From the application go to file, print, preferences, click on the finishing tab and
check Print on bot sides, (manually) apply and OK.
Disable the bidirectional support to see if that will make a difference.
Go to start, devices and printers, right click the printer, left click printer
properties, click on the ports tab at the top, uncheck Enable bidirectional support.
If it didn't work then go back in and check it again.
I would download and run the Print and Scan Doctor since it might resolve the issue
automatically.
Find and Fix Common Printer Problems Using HP Diagnostic Tools for Windows.
If that doesn't work then I would uninstall and reinstall the printer software.
Uninstalling the Printer Software.

Not able to print in duplex

On this windows 7 PC, Since I upgraded from Acrobate Reader 8 to Adober 9 and reader10, I am not able to print in duplex mode. I works fine from another computer Windows XP using Adobe Reader 6.0 using the same shared and WiFi printers.
Looking at the document file property in the advance tab, in the print dialog preset window, I am not able to change the duplex mode from grayed "Simplex" to Duplex.
How do I fix this problem?

The HP Deskjet 2520 does not support automatic print duplexing and therefore any checkbox will not apply for such.
You may perform manual duplexng on Mac OS using the Pages to Print option as following:
From the file used to print click the File menu and select Print.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Press on Show Details to show any available print option.
From the main drop does menu select Paper Handaling.
The main menu will usually list the program name (e.g. TextEdit).
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Set the Pages to Print option as Odd Only, as well set the Page Order as Automatic and click on Print.
After the odd-numbered pages have printed, reload the paper with the printed side facing up and repeat the process above by setting the Pages to Print as Even Only this time.

Adobe Reader cannot print after installing SAP GUI 6.40 with patch level 25

We are in the midst of rolling out sap gui 6.40. Noticed that after installing the gui 6.40 with patch level 25, users cannot print adobe documents. However they can read.
Anyone experienced similar issues? Kindly assist.

Problem while printing from SAP GUI for HTML

Hello,
We are trying to print a delivery confirmation from the portal using SAP GUI for HTML. We have followed note 771683 to do this. However we are facing the following problems:
1) The print action(PDF creation) is not triggered until the user performs some action
2) the PDF that is created is corrupted(does not open)
In order to correct this we tried to implement note 957292. However, the changes to the object FRONTEND_PRINTPOLL_FRONT_REQUEST.HTM mentioned in this note created problems. So we decided to do the changes to this object manually. But we see that the SAP note doesn't contain any information on changes that should be implemented for this object.
Question:
Is the note 957292 only way to solve the printing(PDF) problem? If not, how can we trigger the automatic creation of the PDF and remove the error from the PDF file?
If yes, any idea what is causing the problem during the note implementation?
We are on NW2004s - EP7.0 SP10
