  • SAP ABAP/BOBJ Infoview initial password change

    Hi all,
We are using BOBJ Crystal Repors and BI for reporting. All authentication and data security is working great including user/role sync from ABAP stack.
My problem is as follows - Say I reset the initial password in the ABAP side for a user id. I log into BOBJ Infoview and the new inital password syncs as expected. However.....the infoview does not promt for the user to change the initial password as the ABAP side or portal would. Now the user maintains the initial password the admin set. Again, our portal or ABAP system forces the user to change the initial password but I can't seem to have the infoview do the same.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I believe this note pertains to your issue:
1319430 - SAP Users not prompted to change their passwords
    Version   1     Validity: 03/18/2009 - active
    Language   English
    Edit Show change log
Content:    Summary   |   Header Data   |   References   |   Product
    Symptom
When the SAP system has a new user set to change their password on the initial login and the user attempts to log into Infoview using the SAP integration kit the user is not prompted to change their password.
    Reproducing the Issue
When SAP system has a new user set to change password on initial login and user attempts to log into Infoview using SAP integration kit the user is not prompted to change password.
    Cause
This occurs because, as with other 3rd party integration solutions, we do not write to the authentication system but only read the information that is there. Thus we are unable to "CHANGE" an SAP password.
    Resolution
Have a new user access the SAP GUI or another SAP utility before accessing InfoView for the first time.

  • Can't view a report connecting through ODBC(RDO)  to DB with InfoView (CMC)

    Environment :
    Crystal Reports machine :
    OS :
    Windows Server 2008 64-bit
    Crystal Reports Developer 2008 SP0
    Crystal Reports Server 2008
    DB Server:
    Windows Server 2003 32-bit
    SQL Server 2000 SP3
    What is going on:
All the reports connecting through ODBC (RDO) to the database server work fine in the developer interface (I can preview them) but cannot be accessed if I try to view them in InfoView / CMC ("Please wait while the document is being processed" message box doesn't go away...).
I have tried both the SQL Server driver 6.00.6001.1800 and SQL Server Native Client 10.0 2007.100.1600.22 with the same results.
PS All the reports using OLE DB work just fine, I would prefer to have the ODBC option working through the web interface because I have a few hundreds report to change otherwise ...
    Virgil Rucsandescu

Our solution is a php web application, but this is not relevant (in my opinion), and here it is why:
The php code should show the reports by using the direct links given by InfoView
    (like http://dev-web:8080/CrystalReports/viewrpt.cwr?id=801&apsuser=user&apspassword=password).
Actually in this moment these links are looking different because currently we're using C.R. 10 + C.R. Server 10, but we are planning to move to CR 2008 + CR Server 2008.
So now I am testing how these direct links do work, they're actually working perfectly till now, but only if I connect through OLEDB to the DB server (SQL Server 2000). Any attempt to do it through the 2 ODBC drivers failed until now.
And I don't want to think about changing the data source hundreds of reports (lot of them having subreports too) ...

  • Crystal Reports Server 2008 FP 4.1 Update did not update InfoView/Cmc ?

    Hi all,
last year I installed a Crystal Reports Server 2008. After installation I had the following version numbers:
    Server = 12.3.0
    InfoView/Cmc = 12.1.0
Now I downloaded all packages of service pack 4 and fix pack 4.1 and tried to install them in following order:
Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 Service Pack 4 for Server Components
Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 Service Pack 4 for Client Components
Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 Fix Pack 4.1 for Server Components
Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 Fix Pack 4.1 for Client Components
The installation of the server components worked fine, however the installation of the client components failed with "Base version mismatch". Now I have these version numbers:
    Server = 12.4.1
    InfoView/Cmc = 12.1.0
Is that the intended behaviour? Is there no need to update InfoView/Cmc too? I know that InfoView did not work with IE 9 before the update, so I hoped to get an update of it.
    Thanks for any info
    Joern

    Hi Joern,
Don't pay attention to the version that you get from infoview or CMC.
It never changes and will always remain 12.1.0
In order to know your BOE version, you can check it in
    CMC > Settings
In the add/remove programs, it lists the version installed
You also have a tool which is software inventory tool which list the version installed.
For clients, if you go in the folder where the .exe is, if you right click on it and select properties then you will get the version number in the version tab
I hope this will help you

  • How to kill/stop a report from InfoView/CMC ?

    Hi All,
I have CRS2008 v1 environment running reports against Sybase database. Users run reports from Infoview. I would like to know what the best way to kill or stop a report that has been triggered from Infoview? Kill the spid from sybase or is there a way to kill it from Crystal?
    Thanks
    Ajith

I want to kill reports run by users if they affect the system performance due to large volume. In that case the stored procedure that the report uses to select data might run for longer periods and I want to able to kill that process. So the question is which is better ?
    1. Kill the spid for that report stored procedure in Sybase
    2. Stop/delete the report instance from crystal if it is possible.

  • Login to Infoview / cmc is slow

    Hi all!!
I'm using a BOE XI 3.1 SP2 with Apache Tomcat Was, in a Windows 2008 VMware image...
Login times  to InfoView and CmcApp with entreprise authentification are about 2 minutes or more than sometimes.
And after login, some page take time ,for example adding a new user ..
When we restart Tomcat 5.5 the login is fast but after few minutes the issue back.
Has anyone experienced this problem ?

    Hi Thibault,
I haven't seen delays quite that long, but I have seen this take quite a bit longer the first time you access the sections or applications.  Usually, this delay is in extracting the contents of the WAR files into the WebApps folder and/or compiling the JSPs for consumption.  In your case though, if it is quick and then slows down after some use, I would look at resources on the box.  Ensure that you have set the -Xmx and -Xms switching on the Tomcat server to 1024 to allow for up to 1gb of RAM, also, enable a debug trace and see if you can locate, from the logs, what the delay is.
Other than that, can you give us a little more detail on the environment?  It might be worth it to open up a support message and have an engineer look into this with you.
    Thanks
    Jonathan

  • Best Practices for SSO between NWBC and BOBJ CMC

What are the best practices in this scenario:
    - NWBC client (using SAP ECC logon credentials)
    - BOBJ client (configured using Windows AD credentials)
I would like my users to log into NWBC - but be automatically logged into CMC for running crystal reports inside the NWBC gui.
    Thanks
    Shane Kelly

yes.  we're not using portal.    only SAPGUI up till now.
but we've recently configured our DEV server to run NWBC.
Normally my users log into CMC Infoview in a browser - but with NWBC i can bring infoview directly into the UI.
but it asks for a sign=on every time.
i'd like to configure SSO for NWBC to BOBJ infoview somewhow.

  • Not able to connect CMC or Infoview using Administrator

Hi, I have a unique problem. We have a sand box (in other department) where we had either administrator as userid or userid of previous contractor. We do have two other userid which we were told that has access to CMC.  I am suppose to support that system to give access to new developer. I can login into Universe and Deski using Administrator userid and blank password or using those two other userids but I can not login into Administrator LaunchPad or infoview page by either. I am getting error message Unauthorized for all userids.
This is BO XI rel 2.0 with MySQL and Java Installation. I could login into MySQL directly.
On the other servers the admin launchpad is havinglink for Infoview and CMC on same page and there are other links at the left hand side but in this whenever I click on link
    http://localhost:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/adminlaunch/launchpad.html
then a pop-up window appears. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if other person did something.
Thinking that I am using wrong links I tried various links butin vain.
    Please help..
    Thanks

It sounds like someone may have inadvertantly set a permission denying all users or the everyone group to login to infoview/CMC.
I thought this was impossible with the built in administrator account based on testing some time ago. That looks like the right link, can you open a message with support? We may have to test your system DB to find out what's wrong.

    Tim

  • BOBJ XI R1/R2 Infoview - Validating an user log in when scheduling a report

<p>Hello,</p><p> Is it possible to validate an user input before a report gets scheduled when using BOBJ Infoview? Many times, some users forget to enter their database login info when scheduling their report and find out when it is too late that their report failed and they can get the data they wanted so badly. It would be great if javascript could be incorporated into the scheduling option in BOBJ to validate some input fields before the report get processed. Does anybody know how to do this?</p><p>Thank you</p>

  • How do I configure Firefox so that the down arrowhead in the location field actually causes the display of a drop down list of bookmarked websites?

At one time I had done the "right" actions so that the location drop down contained a list of around 20 of my most frequently accessed websites. Now I have a new computer and cannot figure out how to configure this new installation of Firefox so that this feature works as it did before. Frustrating!!!! When I click the down arrowhead (icon just left of reload page icon), no drop down menu appears; only the URL of the current page is highlighted.

    See:
    * Firefox (Tools) > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: Bookmarks
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Location+bar+autocomplete
*Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
*Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

  • Invalid Timestamp for scheduling instance in CMC and InfoView (BOXIR2)

    Dear all,
I have one issues which was regarding the scheduling timestamp for webi instance. My environment was using LINUX OS and BOXIR2 SP2. In InfoView & CMC, i was setted my preference time zone to Hong Kong time. However, instance timestamp for webi report instance in InfoView was showing the correct timestamp which following the LINUX server local date and time. However, when preview it in CMC it will shows -8 hours different.
I was trying to change the preference time zone in both CMC and InfoView to "Local to the web server". however both of the report schedule instance was showing -8 hours different with LINUX server time.
When i preview the webi report's objects properties in CMC, it have a "UTC" which located under the object created date time. For eg:
    Locale: English (United States)
    Created: Wed Dec 03 11:33:29 UTC 2008
    Created by: Administrator
Last Modified: Tue Dec 15 02:05:22 UTC 2009
This issues does not exist in Crystal Report scheduler instance.
Appreciated if anyone faced this issues before can provide some solution.
    Thank You.

    Hi,

My BOXIR2 was installed on the LINUX OS.
    Thanks.

  • How can i configure firefox single sign-on for urls on citrix environment to affect all users

    Hello,
i tried to configure single sign-on on firefox, which is published on our citrix environment and i tried to setup it as per this article "http://support.citrix.com/article/ctx120598" this method and it only applies for a single user, is there any way of doing the config to apply for any user which is loged via citrix session...?
    Thank you,
    Manoj.

you can use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify new (default) values for all users and profile folders.
Place a local-settings.js file in the defaults\pref folder where also the channel-prefs.js file is located to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes
    See:
