Configure client side security polise for RMI

Hi all!
How to configure client side security if I want to use applet and RMI on the single
computer.
I was editing . java.policy file:
grant {
// added to allow RMI/JMS
permission java.io.SerializablePermission "enableSubstitution";
permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "setContextClassLoader";
But I have MarshalException if I want to make a call from one
Java VM to another.
Regards,
Pavel.

Which version WLS are you using? In the latest versions of WLS 6.0 you need
not give these extra permissions for the applets.This is taken care in the
server itself. You can contact support for the patch.

  • Custom Client-Side Video Codec for Standard Linux Flash Player

    I'm new to Flash development, so please excuse my naivete. I'd like to have the standard Linux Adobe Flash player use an experimental client-side H.264 codec I am working on when playing FLV media (even if embedded within an SWF file) instead of the standard one bundled with the player. Is there any way to accomplish that?
    Thanks,

    The problem, at least in my case, was QtCurve's opacity. If I have opacity set to less than 100%, flash would not display for sites like Youtube and Vimeo, but worked elsewhere.
    The solution for me was to go into qtcurve's settings, and put npviewer.bin in the application exceptions section for window and menu opacity. Doing that, I was able to keep my transparent menus, and also use flash everywhere.
    You can find out what the application name is by launching your browser of choice in a terminal with qtcurve debug turned on, like so:
    QTCURVE_DEBUG=1 firefox
    If you watch through the lines that start with "QtCurve" you'll see "Application name". Look for the one that shows up when you try to load a video. In my case it was npviewer.bin. In yours, it might be nspluginviewer or something else. If you add an exception for that specific application, you'll fix your problem without having to compromise on your theme.

  • Client-side transient model for storing temporary data

    We've been using the ODataModel in our UI5 application for retrieving data from Gateway and now we have a requirement to store temporary (session based) client-side data.  Ideally it would be stored in such a way that it can be shared across views and controllers and can be bound from UI components via property bindings.  The data in most cases will be OData entities.  As an example a user would view a list of PO's (from the ODataModel) in the first view, then select a subset of POs and move onto the next view to "work" on those POs.  We'd want to store this subset of POs in a client model so the second view can bind to the model and display them.
    My first thought is to create another model separate from our ODataModel in which we could add transient client-side data (OData entities and custom data) and make it available to all views and controllers in the app.  I realize we could probably also just store such data in global JS variables, however a client-side model seems like a cleaner approach to me.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions on how this can be achieved.

    Hi Derek,
    why don't you just use sap.ui.core.Core.setModel? You can store multiple models and access them in your entire SAPUI5 app.
    Except for SAPUI5-apps, these requirements are often realized with HTML5 Web Storage JavaScript API. As you can see in the following blog post, you can easily store even complex entities and access your items in the entire web-application: Client-side Session Management.
    I can't recommend the approach with global variables. A lot of developers had negative experiences with this design pattern. At least, use namespacing techniques to store your functions and variables in one central scope. I've written a simple example on jsFiddle to show you this. As you can see, you could also handle your transient model as an additional variable of your own namespace.

  • Configuring client side

    Hello,
    I'm starting to play with JMS and I have a sample application that works fine in the same machine. I would like to know what I have to configure to run the client within another computer and find the server.
    Do anyone can point me how to acomplish this, or a resource like an article or an ebook?
    Thanks in advance for help.

    Hi,
    first of all you need to install mq client(jms provider). while creating jndi objects need to specify properties like host (name of host), transport(client). then u can test ur client applications.

  • BUG - client-side iPad keyboard in MRD 8.1.5 is mis-mapped for remote VMware Player console on Windows 8.1 Pro

    Client system: iPad 4 running iOS 8.1.1
    Client language/locale: US English
    Client app: MRD 8.1.5
    Server system: 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro
    Server language/locale: US English
    Problem: client-side keyboard in MRD 8.1.5 does not work properly within VMware Player 6 console only
    When interacting with VMs through the VMware Player 6 console app on the remote Windows 8.1 host, the client-side iPad keyboard for MRD 8.1.5 is not properly mapped. Letter keys and the top-row number keys send function keys or non-standard key scan codes
    that aren't used by traditional PC keyboards. The spacebar sends the D key, and some keys send nothing at all. Many other keys work properly, including the client-side numeric keypad, and uppercase letters sent by using the Shift key (but not the iPad up-arrow
    shift key). The only way to send the proper keystrokes to VMware Player from MRD 8.1.5 is to not use the client-side iPad keyboard and instead switch to the on-screen keyboard provided by the remote Windows server.
    This problem only occurs within the VMware Player console app, and only with RDP connections that use the MRD 8.1.5 client on iOS. I do not encounter the problem with other iOS RD clients such as iFreeRDP by Thinstuff or Pocket Cloud Remote Desktop by Wyse.
    Steps to reproduce:
    Connect to Windows 8.1 Pro system from the MRD 8.1.5 client for iOS 8.1.1
    Using the client-side iPad keyboard within MRD 8.1.5, bring up the Run dialog by typing Windows-R
    Launch Notepad by typing notepad.exe in the Run dialog and pressing Enter on the client-side iPad keyboard
    Type some sample text in Notepad until you're confident that the client-side iPad keyboard is functioning properly
    Launch VMware Player 6 and start up a VM (mine was Windows Server 2008)
    Open the sign-on prompt in the VM by sending Ctrl-Alt-Ins from the client-side keyboard or by pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del icon in VMware Player
    Touch or click in the password field in the VM to ensure it has keyboard focus
    Using the client-side keyboard, try to type letters or numbers in the password field, and notice that dots generally do not appear for most keypresses
    Switch to the server-side on-screen keyboard and delete the contents of the password field if it is not already empty
    Use the server-side on-screen keyboard to sign on to the VM
    Inside the VM, open Notepad or some other text editor
    Enter text into the editor from both the client-side and server-side keyboards to verify that only the server-side keyboard is functioning properly within the VM
    This issue is the only problem I'm having with MRD for iOS, and I hope it is resolved soon.
    Thanks,

  • Possible to delete Offline Files content for a specific user from the Client Side Cache (CSC) ?.

    Hello Everyone,
    We would like to implement a script to delete the offline files in the Client Side Cache (CSC) for a nominated user (on Windows 7 x64 enterprise).
    I am aware that;
    1. We can use a registry value to flush the entire CNC cache (for all users) next time the machine reboots.
    2. If we delete the user's local profile it appears that Windows 7 also removes their content from the local CSC.
    However, we would like to just delete the CSC content for a particular nominated user without having to delete their local user profile.
    In our environment we have many users that share workstations but only use them occasionally. We don't use roaming profile so we would like to retain all the users' local profiles but still delete the CSC content for any users that haven't
    logged on in a week.
    Any ideas or info would be appreciated !
    Thanks, Makes

  • Client-side handler: static config?

    I would like to provide a client-side JAX-RPC handler that would
    be invoked without any modification to existing client code.
    The idea is that user's would only need to modify a config file
    (something like the web-services.xml file, but on the client-
    side) to use our handler.
    We are already doing this in axis (uses a client-side deployment
    descriptor: client_deploy.wsdd), but based on another thread
    ("Client Handler Chain - help ??"), it looks like there is
    currently no equivalent in WLS?
    Are there plans to add the ability to statically configure
    client-side handlers in WLS via some sort of client-side config
    file/descriptor, or is the programmatic method of modifying
    the HandlerRegistry in the client code the only way?
    Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    In 7.0, you can do this in a handler:
    import weblogic.webservice.binding.soap.HttpClientBinding;
    String url = http://my/new/address/;
    sslAdapter = null; //only needed for ssl
    Binding binding = new HttpClientBinding( url, sslAdapter );
    context.setProperty( WLMessageContext.BINDING_PROP,
    binding );

    Manoj, thanks for the response.
    We'd definitely like to see a client side dd at some point, but

    On another subject:
    I need to determine the target/endpoint URL from my client-side
    request handler. Again, this was something we were able to do in
    axis, but is currently not part of the JAX-RPC standard (JSR101).
    I could be missing something, but haven't seen any way of
    determining the target URL given only the SOAPMessageContext.
    The only way seems to be if it were passed as a "standard"
    property in the SOAPMessageContext (this is one way it is done
    in axis).
    I imagine this will someday be standardized in JAX-RPC (I can
    think of many uses for this feature, other than our own). In the
    meantime, could you also add this as a feature request for WLS?

    It is quite easy to register the handlers through APIs. Let us know

    Gopal,
    If you are asking this question, then you probably shouldn't be installing this package on your own.
    There are basic installation instructions for all SAP software, and there are specific implementation guides for each package.   Normally, this task is performed by a Basis expert.
    If you wish to try anyway (I don't recommend this), then all the information you need is either on the BP web site, or links exist on this site to direct you to the info you will need.  If you are downloading a baseline package, start here http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000728648& select the one you want.  There is an info button, and a download button.  Click on the Info button, which will take you to BP docs for the package you have selected. Read ALL, especially the stuff contained in the 'Explore and Evaluate' section.
    Better, though, to hand the links and files to your Basis person and allow them to install.

    I think you answered your own question - the PDF is password protected therefore LC can't open it to extract the data.
    You'll have to remove the security first.  You can do that in a process by using the Common.EncryptionService.Remove PDF Password Encryption operation.
    Note that you will need the document's password to remove the security.

  • ReRender using client-side dom id

    Is it possible to use client-side DOM ids for rerendering. I have noted that JSF/Richfaces only accepts server-side DOM names.
    e.g.
    <h:form id="myForm">
        <h:outputText id="testData" value="#{testAction.testData}" >
        <a4j:commandButton id="updateData" value="Update Data"
                                 action="#{testAction.updateData}" reRender="testData"/>
    </h:form>client-side DOM id: testData
    server-side DOM id: myForm:testData
    Is there some method on the server (maybe in rerender phase) that I call to achieve this i.e. reRender="myForm:testData"
    Thanks,
    Philip

    The problem that I've posted is just an example. The real jsf page is extremely complex which is made up repeating data that is nested multiple levels deep. I'm trying to minimize the amount of data being rerendered as the page is over 1.5MB in size as it stands, but still needs to be extremely interactive and responsive.
    The form lives within the repeating rich:dataGrid to minimize the amount of data being submitted to the server. In the real application this repeat is nested within a few other repeats multiple levels deep. I also use ajax regions to minimize the amount of processing on the server side.
    The problem I'm trying to solve is as follows:
    1) I have page with lots of repeating data multiple levels deep. At each data level content is represented in a set of panels/forms.
    2) Changing one value in one of the forms can initiate a complex set of events, where data needs to be rerendered in other areas outside the current form (but on the same page).
    3) The data across all these tables can be sorted by the end user, which means that I have lost the original link between the backing data and the client-DOM component i.e. if you sort data, the data changes its position, but the DOM components remain unchanged. This is problematic as I need to know down to a single field what needs to rerendered.
    The solution that I am trying to employ:
    1) As the page loads (or is subsequently rerendered on a post-back) I store a unique identifier (based on pk of the backing component - ejb entity) and the client dom id of the component back in a map on the server (pk to client dom map). I only need to do this for a select set of fields that I know might change during step 2 above. If one element is changed that causes a data change in another area of the screen, I can get to the client ID by doing a look up on pk/client dom map.
    2) I am using the ajaxKeys property combined with the field name to calculate the exact component that needs to be renrendered. However, to get at this I need to parse the client ID to figure out the ajaxKeys and field name. I then need to set these keys for every table that is a parent of the current field that I am trying to rerender. One issue that I am faced with using this approach is: if I need to update more than one field within the same rerender but is based on different ajaxKeys - still trying to figure this one out.
    This process would be so much easier if I could just tell JSF to rerender based on the set of client IDs that I know need to be rerendered.
    Thanks for the advice.
