Configure Content Repository

Hi,
I'm at a univerity and just trying to set up our new ERP 6.0 system.
Before that we used R/3.
I'm trying to connect the system to the old content server. I managed to create the content repository and add the content server
Both running fine as far as I can see.
but:
1. The status of the server certificate is not active. Where do I activate it? Is it in csadmin, the little button 2 to the left of the trashcan? It says "freischalten" as I have a german system. When I click it I am asked for a username and password, but I dont know which one... Is it the windows password I login with at the server? Is it the one I use e.g. in the DB-Manager? or something completly different..
2. I want to make the repository seelctable when I want to seposit a file in CV01N/originals. The system only shows a  menu where I can select: Archive, Vault or SAP-DB. All of which with one entry each. I suppose they are the standart Ides entries. (sap-database,iXOS-optical-Archive D3, Vault 1 in Walldorf)
In the old system when I want to deposit a file it showed all repositorys marked as DMS.
The system is based on a IDES-training system. The content server is in the room next to me. The sap-system is hosted at a UCC in Magdeburg.
I hope I chose the right forum and you can help me.
Tobi

I solved the problem myself.
For the record:
I had to enable the use of the KPRO for each document type in SPRO/define doctypes.
Plus I didn't need a certificated connection to the server.

  • Configuring content repository for project archiving

    Hi Experts,
Self have done the below steps for archiving projects.
    1) Created a project, released it and set the status DLFL and DLT for the project through CN80.
    2) For archving created the variant and saved it. For start date gave as immediate. For spool parameter selcted on printer and saved it.
    3) In customizing Maintained the created variant as test mode variant and production mode variant. Selected the delete jobs as "Start Automatically". In "Place file in storage system' self have given the content repository created in Knowledge management in Define content repository. The content repository which i created was not available in F4 but just gave the name which i created. "Store before deleting check box" was checked and "Delete program reads from storage system" was also checked and then the data's are saved.
    4) When i executed the variant, archiving was happening properly but storage was not successful. I was also able to access the project in CJ20N
    5) In retreival of CN80 i was able to retreive the archived project as well when i give the archive version number, hence self think archving has happened properly.
My confusion is when i check "From database" check box and give the project in retreival then also the project is getting retreived. Self feel the project must not be available in physical database.
    Help me in below points
    1) Will the project be read only in CJ20n when the project is archived?
    2) Steps to configure storage system in archving projects.
    3) Do i need to do anything more than the stpes specified above.
    Thanks,
    Visvesh

    Hello Swarna,
I will always prefer to use a different content repository rather than going with other repository which is already in use. This will help in management of post archive pdf documents effectively in content server as well as legal requirement management.
If one file size is 95 MB then if system takes 04secs to archive then it is very good response.
I am thinking that you wanted to mention it as 0.95MB but by mistake u mentioned as 95MB.
If it is 95MB then for archiving 10000 pdf documents it will require full day.
However for 0.95MB size of pdf file archiving i would suggest to go with saparate content repository.
Hope this answer will help you to take up further decisions.
    -Thanks,

    Thanks in Advance .

Archive File -> During the archiving process the Write program copies the data to be archived from SAP tables to a flat file which is called as Archive file. The archive files are stored in the path specified in Archiving object specific customizing ie Logical file name. Logical file name is defined via TA: FILE.
Content Repository -> Content Repository represents the logical storage space for documents in a content server. SAP can store the archive file into to a content server using Content repository
Content Server -> Is the storage for archived data. Hence it is also known as archive server. The archive files that were created by the write job can be stored into a Content Server using Store Job. The Store job moves the archive files from path specified in TA: FILE to a content/archive server storage.
Ixos, FileNet, SAP Content Server etc are examples of archive server softwares
In your case since you do not use any content server the archive files will remain in the path specified in the TA:FILE.
Where do you want to eventually store the archive files? Path specified in TA: FILE or some other location?
    Hope this helps

  • Cannot find the Web Content repository in test system under KM Content

    Hi Experts,
We have implemented Web Page Composer in our development landscape. I have created a web page with the required content in the development and now wish to transport this web page and its content to our test system.
However when I navigate to Content Administration -> KM Content, inside the root directory I am not able to find the Web Content repository within which all WPC content resides.
I want to know what configuration has to be done in the test system so that the Web Content repository becomes available within KM Content.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hi,
I just want a confirmation on whether I will have to deploy the .SCA file for Web Page Composer in my test and production systems to be able to use the web pages I have created in the development environment.

  • Document type to default content repository

Is it possible to configure the DMS system so that when you create a document using CV01N and check in the original (using a KPro document type) it will enter it into a content repository by default, without using the pop-up box.
For example a document of type DMO (if DMO it has KPRO checked in it's setup)  - always puts the original document in  DMS_C1_ST?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Dear Arthur,
if I understood your latest information correctly your request is that
the files are stored automatically to storage category if
you add a file of a specific workstation application to a document info record and save it.
This first setting enables the automatic start of the checkin
process. But to have a specific storage category choosen for an
original workstation application, you have to do another setting and
create a profile in your system in the customizing under
    - Cross Application Components
         - Document Management System
             - General Data
                 - Define profile
For this profile pleasee add your workstation applications under
"Determine definitions for applications". Here you can maintain the
default storage category for this application in field 'Storage cat.'.
Since this profile is created assign it to all your users directly.
Then if an user adds a new original file and chooses a workstation
application the system should take the storage category automatically
    from the profile.
To achieve an automatic checkin behavior the additional required setting here are the flags
"Checkin" and "Checkin required" which must be set for the used document status in transaction DC10.
Another proposal would be to use the BADI DOCUMENT_STORAGE01 which
shoudl offer also methods to control which storage category should
be taken for which workstation application.
I hope that this information could be useful for you. To set up this
scenario in detail I would recommend you to contact your local
consulting organisation too which will help you in realising a solution
    that meets all your requirements.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Error in configuring content server

    Dear All
i am configuring external content  server
I have defined my content repositories using tcode OAC0. parameters are as follows:
content repository : ZXYZ ( XYZ is my content repository)
    Document Area : DMS
    Storage type :HTTP content Server
    Version no. : 0046
HTTP Server :IP address of content server
    Port No : 1090
    HTTP Script :ContentServer/ContentServer.dll
    after that i saved.
now when i am clicking on Test connection i am getting  Connect to Host  Port 1090 error: NIECONN_REFUSED
Pls Let me know any solution you have.
    Thanks
    sandeep sharma

    > now when i am clicking on Test connection i am getting  Connect to Host  Port 1090 error: NIECONN_REFUSED
    This means that
    - either the HTTP server on the target system is not running - or not listening on port 1090
    - a firewall prevents accessing that port

  • SAPDB password in content repository

    Hello,
I 'm in the process of configuring the repository with content server.
Two of the parameters with content repository are SAPDBUser and SAPDBPassword.
Before finishing to configure this we have used the report RSCMSPWS to set the technical user password settings used for connection.
After launching this report with definning the DBuser = SAPCS and Password = SAPCS
Two parameters have been aded on the parameters of the repository:
    -1- SAPDBUser
    -2- SAPDBPassword
with SAPCS as user and another different password as SAPCS defining in MAXDB
Knowing that the 2 passwords must be the same, what must be done to resolve this.
    Best Regards.
    Zied.

What are you using to show the message i18n or JSTL? i18n tag libraries have a timed technique of reload. ResourceBundles cant be reloaded (directly). search for a snippet on the web which shows how to reload ResourceBundles.
should we add the resource bundle files(.properties files) to content repository? So long as you have a way to push the files to all managed servers , store it wherever you want.
While this is an idealistic scenario of business can update all content consider what happens when a business user changes the key by mistake, makes a formatting error etc that can potentially break your page.

  • Content Server / Content Repository / Archive Link and co.

    Hi,
i have installed a content server on an external Windows 2003 Server Plattform using MAXDB. The Server is now running and working properly. The test of the content repositories were positive too. Now im a bit confused about all the actions which are required to make a content rep known to SAP System via Archive Link. Is it correct to start the content server service in the SCIF transaction? Do i need to perform the Archive Link Workflow and Costumizing wizard. Which tables have to be altered?
I would  be very greatful if anyone could tell me the steps which need to be done in order to succeed.
    Thanks in advance Christian

    Hi,
Is it correct to start the content server service in the SCIF transaction?
    Not required
the actions which are required to make a content rep known to SAP System via Archive Link.
Create a content repository  in OAC0 using document area Archivelink and storage type HTTP Content Server.
To use full functionality of  Archlink, other set of Archivelink configurations required one of them e.g.OAC3 to use this repository to be used by business objects.

  • Connection to content repository fails with saphttpa

    Hi all,
We have configured all the archive link settings including content repository. When displaying the documents through "Links" , then a url is constructed and sent to our server for displaying the document. But archive link uses "SAPHTTPA" as RFC_destination by default which forwards this call through SAP Application Server as default setting ie saphttp.exe is executed on SAP application server.
We get connection failed exception when HTTP_GET gets executed. But if we change the setting for SAPHTTPA to "FrontEnd Workstation" in SM59,then it works fine , ie when saphttp.exe is executed from SAP client machines we get the request properly in our apache server.
    Can anybody please help !!
We are in a crisis because of this.
    Thanks in advance
    Neha

    Hi Ravi
I really wanted to know whether I need to configure a RFC destination in SM59 to enable SAP Application Server to call our jsp on Apache at port 80 which is on some other machine. SAP Application server is on Solaris and from the application server I can ping the machine hosting our OmniDocs Server as well as telnet to port 80 also runs fine. But when I try to run the command :
    saphttp.exe http://IP:80/omnidocs/sap/sapDocView.jsp , then I get an error like :
    RFC Accept error
    CPIC
no service name in argument list.
    Please help !!
    thanks a lot for replying

  • When to use the new file based content repository

In Service Pack 4 there's a new implementation of the CMSPI interfaces which is configured by using the following implementation class:
    com.bea.content.spi.internal.FileSystemRepositoryImpl
When should one use this new file based repository versus the existing one (configured by using the following class: com.bea.content.spi.internal.RepositoryImpl).
I've read the edocs, but it doesn't state when to use this new one compared to the previous implementation.
We consider using a third party content repository, but for the time being we will use the content repository provided by BEA.
    Trond Andersen, Invenia AS, +4798290811

use the new keyword when you don't have an instance of that object in memory that you want to use.  For example...
if you have an object already in memory that is holding a property with a "CamelQuery" object, then you can say
    var query = myobject.Query;
however, if you have to write the query, or instantiate the object from nothing, then you need to use the "new" keyword.  A good example is SPSite object...
if you can get a new SPSite object by either "newing one up and passing the URL" or getting the farm and getting a site from that object.
using(SPSite site = new SPSite("url to my site"))
    now I can use site.
    //or
    SPSite = myWebApp.Sites[0];
// this gives you site at index 0 of current webApp
most of the time in SharePOint you will be using the "new" keyword to open site collections, and then getting your subsites from there. BE CAREFUL using the "new" keyword. If you "new" up an object that is iDisposable... you
MUST dispose of that, but if you use that same object but it comes from the "current context", you mustn't dispose of it.
//dispose of this by using statement
    using(SPSite site = new SPSite(<url>))
    //do stuff
//after this bracket it is disposed.
    //do not dispose of this:
    SPSite mysite = SPContext.Current.Site;
//unpredictable behavior can occur because you will still need references to your current site.

  • Unable to Create a Content Repository Connection using 'socketssl'

I'm trying to create a Content Repository Connection with RIDC Socket Type as "socketssl".
I am not able to create the connection. The following are the parameters mentioned in Jdeveloper
    RIDC Socket Type : socketssl
Server Host Name : <ip of the content server>
Content Server Listener Port : 54444 (incoming SSL provider is configured in the content server)
KeyStore File Location : patch of the client keystore
    KeyStore Password : password
Private Key Alias : PrivateKey Alias Name
    Private Key password : password
I get the below error. However I am able to use RIDC to connect to UCM using socketssl. This problem is seen only with jdeveloper.

You need to supply the "Key Store Location", "Key Store Password", "Private Key Alias" and "Private Key Password' to use socketssl.
Also please make sure that the content server has enabled "Use SSL". You can configure it using the enterprise manager.

  • Content Repository for SAP Digital Personnel Files

    Hi,
I am trying to configure and use SAP DPF to store employee's certifications and document.  I had created record model and manage to create Personnel Records with tcode SRMRECORDSCREATE.
I am now trying to find out where the document loaded is stored in the SAP standard configuration.  I searched from online help and documentation, it mentioned that it is based on the content repository that it is set.  However, i couldn't find the standard Content Repository that SAP DPF is using.
I need to store the document in the external content server.
    Thanks
    Yin Mun

    Hi Andy,
I could not find content repository standard 'ASR_DPF' in tcode OAC0.
    Is anything missing?
    Regards.
