Configure FTP on SBS2011 ( IIS7 )

Hi ,
I'm trying to setup native FTP service on SBS2011 ( iis7 ).
When I try to install the FTP 7.5 applet for IIS7 the installation package reports back "incorrect operating system" I assume that the 7.5 applet is looking for WS2008 rather than SBS2011.
I've trawled technet and it all points to setting up FTP on IIS7 after installing the FTP 7.5 applet, but I can't get to this level because of the failure of the installation.
Is native FTP even supported on SBS2011, the only information I can find is very vague.
Thanks.

I just tried this as well, it does appear to only be support on Server 2008 - not 2008 R2 which is what SBS 2011 Runs on.
Although according to IIS.net - it is actually part of IIS in 2008 R2.

  • Need help to Configure FTPS connection for File Sender Adapter

    Hi,
I want to Configure, FTPS connection (Secured Connection) for File Sender Adapter. Could anyone please guide me, what Information I require to configure. I just want to know what Information should I request the team inorder the configure FTPS so that it can be deployed properly.
I have checked with [SAP Help Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/e3/94007075cae04f930cc4c034e411e1/content.htm] and while configuring the communication channel found that I need Keystore and the X.509 Certificate and Private Key.  which needs to be deployed on the J2EE server by using the Visual Administrator.
Is there anything else, I need to configure.
Any help would be appreciated in this regard.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Varun.K

The basic things are Certificate/Keys which you already know. Usually it is enough for running a sceanrio.
However, if you have additional requirements, like FTPS for "Connection Security" for encryption, then you may need additional details like commands. Rest all settings are same as FTP.

As you suggested, you can write a custom adapter where you can do duplicate check, file move to duplicate directory and email notification.
But this is trying to cover many business processes under adapter functionality whose intend purpose is just to
work with a transport, speak the transmission protocol and
    transfer the file.
    Custom adapter:
But still you can do these functionalities in custom adapter.
For article, white papers and webcast for developing custom adapter refer this MSDN page:
Developing Adapters using the BizTalk Adapter Framework
You can still use BizTalk adapter wizard which gives you the template files including registry key required for registering the custom adapter. This may need Visual Studio
2005 to get the template project created. The export Visual Studio 2005 to your latest version to get the template for your latest version. And write your FTP library code in the placeholders.
Or refer the SDK for sample custom adapter and replace those custom functionalities to yours to make and update SDK samples work for you.
    http://biztalkadapterwizard.codeplex.com/releases/view/3892
    No to custom pipeline:
Your functionalities are not meant for custom pipeline processing. Pipelines are meant for preparing the received message for further processing or preparing the message/file to be sent out. Custom pipeline is not the correct place to write
    your functionalities.
Try to isolate the functionalities and handle it different modules and don’t pack everything in custom adapter. For example, you can just use custom adapter
to FTP the file, if it’s a duplicate file transfer the file to different folder location. You can (or ask the team who own the FTP server) to send an email if the duplicate folder receives a file. This would improve the performance of the adapter.

  • Configure FTP in OWB 10g R2

    hi
I am trying to configure FTP activity in my OWB release 2
My environment is like this :
Source Database - direct24 - linux machine - FTP server
Repository ,Target Database - direct15 - linux machine
    OWB client - node A - windows
I am working on node A trying to configure FTP to transfer files from direct24 to direct15
I have three questions on this .
    1. What should the COMMAND parameter of FTP activity be?
    /usr/bin/ftp of direct24 (linux) or c:/winnt/system32/ftp.exe of node A (windows )
Right I have it as /usr/bin/ftp
    2. While creating the target location which location should it be?
direct15 (linux) or node A (windows)
    3. Is there any other setting that needs to be done other than NATIVE_JAVA setting
    Thanks and Regards
    Renuka

1.First create Repository using Repository assistance.
    while creating repository
it will ask you for Repository user and Repository OWNER.
You can create multiple user under One OWner.
After that connect To owb using the one of the user.
Hope it will solve your problem.

  • Configuration FTP Adapter XML - Sender

    Hello:
I need to configure dynamically the IP, directory and file name of the FTP through a Sender file/FTP adapter; in other words, I need to set those parameters in the XML message. The IP address, directory and file name of the FTP are obtained in the first message and match with another, which is sent to the adapter (communication channel) to get the data of a file.
    I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Julio,
Configuring dynamically the parameters for FTP sender adapter is not possible, due to two reasons,
    1. FTP sender is a pull adapter, so you cannot set parameter (in runtime) and fetch the data.
    2. FTP sender is a async adapter
Try to have a soap sender with AXIS framework (thought i have never tried, but this looks promising).

  • How to configure FTP/VAN Adapter for SFTP connection?

    Hi,
I am new to the use of Seeburger's FTP/VAN adapter. I read SDN threads where the FTP/VAN adapter can be used for SFTP connections. Could anyone assist me in the steps to configure the communication channels for SFTP connections?
    Scenarios:
    1. R/3 -> XI -> File (SFTP server)
    2. File (SFTP server) -> XI -> IDoc
There is no VAN connection involved. I am just trying to utilize the adapters my PI system currently have for my interface requirement.
Is the configuration as simple as configuring the communication channel or there are scripts involved? If there are scripting involved, is there a benefit to use scripting in the FTP/VAN adapter, rather than XI's own File adapter?
    Please assist. Thank you.

    Hi Andrew,
Standard PI Adapter will not support to conenct SFTP server, we have to use third party adapters?? do you have any third party adapters??
many compniaes providing SFTP adapters and SAP PI Supports to.
if you dont have third party adapter we do have other alternative , refer below blog

  • How to configure FTP Adapter for multiple endpoints?

Scenario: I have multiple ftp endpoints (5-15) and depending on some business logic, I have to send data to the right destination. With default ftp adapter configuration, I have to add a n adapter connection factory reachable via JNDI for each destination. But I want to read the different endpoints dynamically from e.g. a database and configure my ftp adapter at runtime. That's because the endpoints do change quite often.
Interconnect had such a feature: FTP Sender: The FTP adapter supports sending to multiple FTP endpoints. This feature provides flexibility for sending messages to different remote FTP servers.
Any ideas on that for SOA Suite?
    Thanks,
    Torsten

  • How to configure FTP in Process Flow

I'm having troubles configuring an FTP activity in my process flow. Any clue how that should be done?
The documentation does not tell that much. I added the following to my parameter list in "Activity Panel"
    /${Working.Host}=100.1.15.236/${Working.User}=XYZ/${Working.Password}=xxxxx/${Working.Rootpath}=C:\Nova\Data/${Remote.Host}=192.168.100.100/${Remote.User}=oracle/${Remote.Password}=xxxxx/${Remote.RootPath}=/export/home/oracle/
where "/" is the variable delimiter. The deployment went successfully, but when I try to execute, it hangs at the FTP activity and generate an error when cancelled.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Rene

    URGENT!!!
i have included FTP activity in my process flow, i can able to FTP the file to the remote server.
I have two transitions and point to two end processes, one is end-success and the other one is end-error. But even if the FTP process completed and file have been successfully send to the remote server, still the process ends with End-Error.
If the FTP activity couldn’t able to send the file due to some other reason still the process ends with the end-error.
Can any one give me some clues.

  • Configure FTP service on OS X server 10.5.4

I am trying to support a customer who is running Mac OS X server 10.5.4. I do not have this software, only a client version of 10.5.4.
I am looking for instructions to setup the FTP service on server. When we attempt to connect from another PC/Mac vai DOS or terminal, it connects but terminates the connection immediately.
Any information on this setup would be much appreciated, I can't find anything out there.

    Thanks for lending a hand.
I'm actually looking for the steps to enable and setup the FTP service at the server. I'm familiar with this setup from a client perspective.
When we perform the test via DOS, it connects for 1 second and then terminates by host. We don't get a chance to enter credentials. Perhpas it's enabled, but has a low timeout connection?
If you have any screen shots of this configuration, please send them along.
    Many thnaks!

  • Configuration FTP Solaris 9

    Hi!
I'm executing an ftp from a ZOS system to a Solaris 9. The file transfer is correct, but the files arrive with rw-r--r-- permissions. I need those files to have rw-rw-r-- permissions for a former processing.
I'm using TCP Wrappers, in the inetd.conf file I use the following commands:
    # FTPD - FTP server daemon
    #ftp stream tcp6 nowait root /usr/sbin/in.ftpd in.ftpd -a
ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/sfw/sbin/tcpd in.ftpd -a
Where can I change the configuration to make the files arrive directly with the right permissions i need?
    Thanks,
    Ricardo

This is kind of a wild idea. If your recieving from a ZOS... do you mean an IBM mainframe running MVS. IBM --- FTP requires overriding parameter statements in the JCL... One which you may consider looking into is the SYSFTPD which is required for all ZOS and advanced System 390 computers. In this proc is two pages of file format configuration changes. Setting the file structure and permissions on the recieving or sending side.
In short; look at both sides of the fence.

  • Configured FTP Now site in Local an FTP site

I configured my site in Manage Site/Configure Server for FTP. Now my site is an ftp://site with an empty cgi-bin folder in the Local Files dialog box. I can't get back to my regular site even though everything is still on my hard drive.
Any help sure would be appreciated.

Have you inadvertently defined the site via Manage Sites > New > FTP & RDS Server?
If not, what info have you entered into the Local and Remote site definitions?

  • Help (pleeeease) with configuring FTP server connection

HI...I am so frustrated. You have to understand that I am not completely stupid, but I just cannot understand the process which will allow me to connect to a **^&-**** FTP server!!!
    Here's the deal:
Me, graphic designer, designing among other things, websites.
Dreamweaver, the software program that I use to design websites.
So, I design a site, and configure it to upload via FTP. I get the FTP hostname, username, password info from the intended Internet Service Provider, and load that info into the required fields in the Site Manager window. Everything is great until I try to connect to the server....it just won't do it! I get error messages that state flatly that I cannot connect to the remote server, for reasons that are as bland as "username and password information incorrect". I have called the ISP to determine if I am using the correct username, password blah blah blah, and everything checks out on their end. It seems that everyone else but me can connect to a bloody FTP server! Harrumph.
So...what can I do? Is it that something in the System Preferences panel needs to be adjusted to allow me access to FTP? I have fiddled around a little in there, but don't change anything, because I don't know what TCP/IP, proxy settings, etc. MEANS!!! All I did was allow FTP access (duh).
Another point of interest is permissions...somewhere along the way, during my long and convoluted journey with this problem, a message came up that mentioned that. Permissions. Don't know what that means either.
Is there anyone out there that can help me?? I am so confused, and just need a little education. I would greatly appreciate any advice or information. Thanks! Janelle
    iMacG4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hi Janelle: I assume the domain is georgeponzini.com
    1. http://georgeponzini.com/index.htm works so we know you have an index.htm page uploaded to the server but it contains no information at all, like you uploaded a completely blank page, no title, no code, nothing, nada...
    2. http://georgeponzini.com/index.html does not exist, you never uploaded a page so what we see is an error page, saying such a file does not exist.
    3. The link you have ftp-dom.earthlink.net/ is for uploading directly from a browser but I could not get it to work in Safari but does work in Firefox, which you can consider downloading and using.
    4. If you can upload from your Control Center at Earthlink.net, that's a no brainer, this is the option to take, you cannot make any errors doing it this way. But that we'll figure out next... It's ok you do not see a public_html folder you are probably already in it when you log in. Where you given instructions to upload into the WEBDOCS/ folder, if so you did that right.
BTW - have you checked with Earthlink that Control Center will work on a Mac using Safari asa browser
    5. Your index.htm page/file is NOT where you upload to, the index.htm IS the 'Home Page' or 'Index Page'. You're seeing a white page because it contains no information, but you must have uploaded a file/page named index.htm (see 1 above)
    6. If you have files/pages uploaded in the correct area, see if you can rename any file index.html - I am sure you can do this at the Control Center, if not do this on your computer and use 'save as' > index.html - upload this file/page and see if it displays
Let me know what happens, Rick

  • Is relative path can be configured when we configure FTP protocal in File

    Hi All,
Here I am trying to configure a File channel with FTP as the Transport protocol. In place of Source Directory, I want to use relative path like, ./file_in(as we use in normal NFS case).
    Regards,
    Vara

    Hi,
I guess you need to provide absolute file path while using FTP protocol.
Otherwise you will receive error which says: No such folder or directory found / exists.
If you have admin rights and you can setup virtual path in the target system than only you can use relative path.
please refer this blog as an example:
