Configure IIS 7.0 in 64-bit OBIEE 11.1.1.5

We are installing OBIEE 11.1.1.5 in a brand new server ( Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit). We were able to configure successfully IIS 7.0 for Console and EM. And these can now be called using the url http://localhost/console and http://localhost/em. But when we configure for analytics, it is not working. The message thrown when accessing http://localhost/analytics is "Error 404--Not Found " . Did any one face this issue before? Is there any additional step that is needed for configuring analytics when compared to console and em?

Thanks for the response. We had referred this very same document. And we were able to configure successfully weblogic console and enterprise manager. But if we use the same method, analytics is not working. It states that this virtual path itself is not found. Is this somehow related to saw.dll? Do we need to perform some additional setup for the same? Below is the exact message when http://localhost/analytics is referred
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

You can't. IIS is only for integration with Sharepoint portal server. Check the supported platforms guide. Only Java web application servers are supported.

To clarify further....  It is important to note that Forms/Repors 11.1.2.x software (including WLS and JDK) must be of the same archetecture as the machine.  In other words, you cannot use the 32bit Forms/Reports 11.1.2 software on 64bit Windows.  If you are using a 64bit OS, you must install the 64bit software.  Again, this would include Forms/Reports, WLS, and JDK

  • How to: configure IIS 6.0 (w2k3) to fwd HTTP requests to SJSAS (PE) 9.0

    Hi all,
My question is this; can Microsoft IIS be configured to redirect/fwd HTTP requests Sun Java System Application Server PE 9.0?
I'm looking to switch over to SJSAS (PE) 9.0 from a mainly Apache Tomcat based setup. Within the current setup i'm able to configure IIS (6.0) to redirect (passthrough) HTTP requests (via port 80), to a Tomcat instance running via another port (9090) to avoid server conflict. Within Tomcat this is achieved by using an ISAPI redirect filter (e.g. JK2, isapi_redirect.dll).
Having read through the available docs (for 9.0) and performed the usual trawl of forums and web in general i found a number of references to the configuration of Microsoft IIS to forward HTTP requests to SJAS 9.0 for the purposes of setting up load balancing and clustering. Everything i've seen so far points to the use of an ISAPI filter (sun-passthrough.dll) however whilst this appears to come bundled with earlier (pre 9.0) versions of SJSAS i could find no trace of it in the SJSAS (PE) 9.0 install dirs.
I then stumbled across this (http://www.theserverside.com/news/thread.tss?thread_id=31701#156874) reasonably old TheServerSide.com forum post that seems to say in fairly certain terms that the sun-passthrough.dll (referred to in the post as the 'Load Balancer Plugin') only comes bundled as part of SJSAS 9.0 Standard and Enterprise Editions. Is this still the case?
Is there any way of setting this sort of thing up (IIS -> SJSAS (PE) 9.0 redirect) without having to either install Sun Java Web Server or find some clunky hack/workaround for IIS?.
NOTE: Switching off, changing port # or uninstallation of IIS are not currently options, as we have a number of ASP.NET 2.0 based development sites/services running on the box as well.
Hope the questions clear enough and that someone can help.
    Many thanks,
    Simon Abele

You can use proxy plugin for IIS - it is the same one for appserver 7.x and 8.x. I believe it should work for appserver 9.x as well.
    Here is the docs: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2555/6n4r9qo8g?a=view
and the plugin could be downloaded here:

  • How to configure IIS webserver with weblogic so that I can invoke servlets without the .wlforward extension

How to configure IIS webserver with weblogic so that I can
invoke servlets without the .wlforward extension
As per the documentation iisforward.dll is registered as a filter and .wlforward
    has also been
included as a special file type. However this requires me to key-in ".wlforward"

What I want is something like this

Please help me find a solution to this
    Thanks,

I am able to invoke the servlet without the wlforward extension now.
However, now I am required to add /weblogic before the servlet
name otherwise it does not execute the pathtrim property.
I have tried with the pathprepend thing also.
Can we get rid of the /weblogic part also. I just want to execute

Your help in this regard is greatly appreciated...

    Thanks for the reply Kumar.
I did follow the instructions as given in the Weblogic documentation
The documentation said to add iisforward.dll as a filter service
and register .wlforward as a special
file type to be handled by iisproxy.dll. For this,
while configuring the IIS server in the Home Directory tab
I added an extension ".wlforward" and the executable as
iisproxy.dll. Is this the way it should have been done...
I also modified the iisproxy.ini file as per the documentation.
I have added the WLForwardPath property and set it to /weblogic.
My server works fine when I give the url as
    http://iis/myServlet.wlforward
but it does not work for
http://iis/myServlet and this is the way i'd want it to work.
Please tell me if I am missing something on the configuration part
and if there is something special that needs to be done. I shall
    be grateful to you.

  • Cannot publish OSB Configuration project on windows 7 64 bit OSB 11g1

I get the following error when I try to publish a OSB configuration project:
Project Facet Oracle Service Bus Configuration 1.0.100 is not supported by this server.
I installed OSB 11gr1 the following way:
    1. downloaded + installed 64 bit windows Java JDK (1.6.0_20)
    2. downloaded and installed the generic installer weblogic + coherence ( without OEPE unfortunately) [filename=wls1033_generic.jar].
    3. Seperately downloaded 64 bit OEPE from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oepe/index.html. Unzipped it in a manually created directory oepe in the weblogic installation directory (C:\bea\oepe) [filename=oepe-galileo-all-in-one-11.1.1.5.0.201003170852-win32-x86_64.zip]
    4. Install the OSB by running the setup.exe from the osb installer (Disk1). During the install I selected the OEPE directory (C:\bea\oepe in my case).
    [filename=ofm_osb_generic_11.1.1.3.0_disk1_1of1]
    5. I Started eclipse.exe. The OSB plugins were put in the installment automatically during startup (dropins).
I created a test domain and within eclipse I created a server (Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 2=10.3.3) so I could deploy projects onto this server. All went well. After this I created an OSB configuration project and an OSB project. When I tried to add this to the server I got the error as I mentioned above. This surprises me. The eclipse OSB plugins that were installed cannot create an OSB Configuration Project for the 10.3.3 version. So I cannot use eclipse to build project for the latest version. What is happening here?!?
    Can somebody enlight /help me.

Although windows 7 is not officially supported I got something working. No garantees it will break at some point you can have a working 64 bit OSB on windows 7.
To get oepe also working you have to install the 32 bit version from the 32 bit weblogic installer. When you have supplemented this version with the OSB plugins you can publish projects on Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 2.
So try at your own risk or wait for an official version for windows 7

  • Windows 64-bit + OBIEE 11g + Internet Explorer 10

Not a question this time, just an observation about the interaction between OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 and IE 10 on 64-bit Windows.
After installing OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 on 64-bit Windows, the Analytics environment worked fine in IE 10. When starting BI Services from the Start menu everything was fine.
Prior to installing any patch sets, I installed the two Windows Services (Admin Server, Managed Server). At that point, the Analytics environment on Internet Explorer 10 would not work properly (Firefox was fine).
    - The login screen has the User and Password fields all the way on the left of the screen, but I am able to log in to analytics.
    - Clicking New...Analysis does nothing. No subject area list, no blank field where a list should be, just nothing. It's like clicking on air.
    - Selecting Administration ... Manage Privileges takes me to the correct screen, but there is no scroll bar on the right side.
I accessed Programs and Features ... Installed Updates, and Uninstalled Windows Internet Explorer 10. This rolls IE back to IE 9.
After restarting the machine, Analytics 11.1.1.6.0 works just fine in IE9.
After installing the 11.1.1.6.9 patchset, Analytics still works just fine in IE9. After reinstalling IE10, Analytics is back to its same broken state.
Takeaway: Don't use IE10 with OBIEE 11g (at least through the 11.1.1.6.9 patchset) on 64-bit Windows.

Yup, same here using OBIEE 11.1.6.6 on Windows 7 64bit with IE 10. I do get the scrollbar in 'Manage privileges', however as a trade off my catalog will not load: the left tree only shows 'Shared Folders', the main screen does not load any of the content (just and endless loading animation), and both the 'open' and 'favorits' drop down menu remain empty.

  • Configuring IIS to work with Tomcat - I can't find a good help document

    Hello All,
I am relatively new with Java and I am just now trying to learn Tomcat and servlet technologies. I can get the servlets working on my personal computer, yet I cannot get it configured for the server. From all the forum posts and web sites I have researched, it is my understanding that there is a configuration process that needs to be done to allow IIS to request the Tomcat servlet. However, maybe I'm just plain dumb, but I can't understand all the how-to's that I have found.
I am assuming I DLed the appropiate .dll file and I placed it in Tomcat's bin folder.
But then I have to create a properties file? I have no clue how to do this.
I am still messing with the instructions, etc., but if anyone has any suggestions, or maybe a link to a dummie-fied How-to page, that would be extrememly helpful.
I am currently running IIS on a win2k server.
    Thanks guys.
(btw, for people who are having trouble setting the environment variable, with win2k, I was trying to do it with DOS, and it did not work. However, using the control panel > system > I was able to do it and the setting "stuck")

No, you don't need Apache to make Tomcat work with ISS.
There's a Wrox book entitled "Professional Apache Tomcat" that has a chapter on how to mate Tomcat with IIS. It gives step-by-step instructions that I've followed successfully a number of times.
There are a few Tomcat books on the market now. I'd be surprised if they didn't address this. Go to Borders and pick one up. - MOD

    Hi,
MP is Management Pack and it is the component of SCOM. Therefore, you need to deploy SCOM in your environment to use MP.
    Using Management Packs

If you have question about MP and SCOM, it is recommended to post in SCOM forums.

  • Cannot configure IIS at port 80 as Apache server already running at 80

I have to install BAM in a PC in which Apache server is already running in port 80. So IIS cannot run at port 80. How can i configure BAM to use a different port of IIS ??
    Please suggest...

    Change 2 config files:
    1) OracleBAMEventEngine.exe.config
Change value to include port number:
    <!-- WebApplication configuration -->
    <add key="WebServerName" value="SERVERNAME:PORT" />
This will ensure it makes a correct service call necessary for notification.
    2) Web.config
Change value to include port number:
    <add key="ApplicationHostName" value="SERVERNAME:PORT" />
(This is referred to in the Installation guide if you choose to use another port number other than 80 or 443)
Also, change this value to include port number:
EventEngineServerName: EventEngine server machine name that DNS resolves to IP address,
or simply IP address use "localhost" for remoting to the current box
         -->
    <add key="EventEngineServerName" value="SERVERNAME:PORT" />

  • Configure IIS on DMZ Server

We've been asked to publish SharePoint (2013) on the internet. Because of the way our network is set up, we have to put a server in our DMZ that takes that traffic and forwards it on the SharePoint server. We can't put the SharePoint server in the DMZ and
we can't route or NAT outside traffic directly to the SharePoint server.
I don't have to worry about the network settings, subdomain registration, public IP's etc. since our network management team will take care of all of that, what I need is some ideas on how I can setup IIS on the DMZ server to forward the traffic to
    the SharePoint server.
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to your description, what you need is “forwarding request”. So you may need a proxy server.
You can use Web Application Proxy or Application Request Routing.
Web Application Proxy is a new Remote Access role service in Windows Server® 2012 R2. Web Application Proxy provides reverse proxy functionality for web applications inside your corporate network to allow users on any device to access them
from outside the corporate network. Web Application Proxy pre-authenticates access to web applications using Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), and also functions as an AD FS proxy.
Application Request Routing (ARR) is a proxy-based routing module that uses HTTP headers, server variables, and load balance algorithms to determine how to forward HTTP requests to content servers.
To install and configure Web Application Proxy for publishing internal applications, please refer to the article below,
Installing and Configuring Web Application Proxy for Publishing Internal Applications
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn383650.aspx
To install, configure, and use the ARR module, please refer to the article below,
    Application Request Routing
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee683905(v=ws.10).aspx
