Configure Linksys SPA3000

Hello to all,
I am a newbie to Linksys VoIP Adapter, SPA3000. I recently purchased it with below in mind.
I want to have a DID for ABC country and configure it with this device such that anyone calling me on that DID number, it gets transferred/forwarded to my Local Country number. I have some idea about things but am not able to figure out things.
Can someone please guide me how to configure this device ? Options as below,
To have a DID for my home country.
Anyone calling from my home country to the DID number, i want to get that call transferred/forwarded to my International Mobile number.
Please guide. Thanks in advance.
Sid.

Here is one way to do the above.
I assume you have a PSTN line attached to the Line port of the SPA3000 because you are going to forward the call out the FXO (Line) port.
You configure your voip account with the DID on the PSTN Line tab.  You make sure it registers and it isn't the same account you have registered under Line 1.  Under voip-to-pstn gateway you set VoIP Caller Auth Method to none, you set VoIP Caller Default DP to a Dial Plan number where you have a dial plan with the PSTN number you wish to dial to forward the call.  In the dial plan field that corresponds to the number you set you put the number you wish to dial, for example (<:19253554567>S0)
If the SPA is attached to a router and you have audio problems read up on NAT traversal.

  • Unable to configure Linksys E2500 to use PPPoE connection

I am using the Ubuntu Linux 12.04 operating system and have been able to use the Linksys E2500 router with Automatic Configuration – DHCP setting and my modem in PPPoE mode to use my DSL connection. But I would like to be able to use my router with the PPPoE connection setting so I can use a firmware like Tomato which has more advanced features like bandwidth logging.
I was able to log into the configuration page of my SpeedTouch ST516 modem and set it to bridge mode according to the instructions here: http://www.speedtouch.ca/bridgemode.php
I then tried to set up the router to use PPPoE according to the instructions here: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=3687
I get the message "Can not get an IP address from PPPoE" again when I try to set up the connection in step 4. Resetting the router does not help. I also tried running 'sudo service networking restart' and the 'sudo dhclient -r; sudo dhclient' in Ubuntu's terminal but still got the same message.
I double checked that I used right login information and vpi from my ISP. I used the same info to configure the modem to PPPoE mode again so I can connect to the internet. I had to reset the modem back to factory defaults using the reset button at the back to access the modem configuration page after I disconnected the ethernet cable from the router and plugged it into the modem.
Is there a possible bug with using PPPoE with this router? Is there anything else I can try besides what is stated in the instructions linked to above?

    jaymay
"If you are getting an error "Can't get an IP from PPPoE Server", that would mean that it's possible that the account information you've typed in is incorrect or the modem is not set properly to bridged mode. You can test this by connecting your computer directly to the modem and create a PPPoE dialer. If it will let you connect successfully then you are using the correct username and password. If not then you might have to verify the correct info from your ISP."
    > Again, "I double checked that I used right login information and vpi from my ISP. I used the same info to configure the modem to PPPoE mode again so I can connect to the internet." And yes I was also able to connect with a PPPoE dialer and computer directly connected to the modem.
"It could be possible that what you just need to do in the router is to change it's LAN IP address to a different range compared to what you are getting from the modem to avoid IP conflict. For more information about setting up the router with DSL connection, you may refer to this link: Setting up a Linksys router for DSL Internet connection."
    > That link is exactly the same link in my sentence: "I then tried to set up the router to use PPPoE according to the instructions here: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=3687"
The router ip address used is set to http://192.68.2.1 which differs from the ip addresses of the modems I tried.

  • Issue in Configuring Linksys RV042 router

    Hi,
I am facing some issues in configuring the Linksys RV042 router with dual WAN configuration. We are having two internet connection and I want to perform the "Load balancing" between the two internet connections. I have followed the RV042 manual and configured the router.
But while using the Linksys RV042 for load balancing the "Outlook 2007" and "MSN" are frequently disconnecting in the client machines. We could not use the Linksys RV042 router because of this issue.
We are using the "Static IP" for the two internet connection and configured with manual. We are facing issue only in "Outlook" and "MSN" but I can browse the sites without any issues.
Is there any configurtaions needed? Please help us to get the solution in this issue.
If you need any more details please mail me @ [email protected]
    Thanks in Advance,
    R. Manikandan.

    R. Manikandan,
Without knowing more about your configuration, and the reason for "Outlook" and "MSN" disconnecting.  I would suggest that you look at the following documentation for setting up "Dual WAN" on the RV042.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9923/products_qanda_item09186a0080a36632.shtml
It sounds like you may need to setup "Protocol Bindings" for your SMTP traffic to be directed out a specific WAN port.
If you continue to have issues, please let us know.

  • Guide to configure linksys router e1200

Sorry to come here, but I have a linksys E1200 router connected to a modem Zyxel P600 Series, and I suffer every 24 hours exact connections with the modem connected only works perfect, but with the router every 24 hours Connection signal is lost no or limited so look for a guide aver if set correctly. Thank you in

It could be that when the modem renews the connection, the new IP address issued does not register on the router hence the disconnections. If the Internet Connection Type on the router is set to PPPoE, ensure that the "Keep Alive" option is selected. If it's set to Automatic Configuration DHCP, enabling MAC Clone might help. Go to the MAC Address Clone subtab under Setup and click on "Clone my PC's MAC".
Also ensure that the router and the modem are not in the same network. Check the Internet IP address under Status. If the IP shows 192.168.1.x, make sure your router's LOCAL IP is not the same network as the modem's. You can change the router's IP address under Setup. Use 192.168.X.1 where X can be any number except 1 (for example: 192.168.2.1).

  • Work provided, pre-configured, Linksys router

Couldn't figure out how to get the mac to work with my secure wifi network so we just opened it up. 9 months later, work provided me a mandatory router to use with my intel work laptop. Not real interested in using 2 routers at the house.
Here's the config that work provided on this router:
Configuration and profile contain the following:
    Time Zone changed to “Central”
    Router address changed to 192.168.10.1
    Router password changed to h3lpd3sk
    SSID name changed to LS54gJFG
    SSID broadcasting: Disabled
    WEP 128bit Encryption Enabled, Key 1: 661799CE0CD0CA8F8FAC40CD48
    Passphrase SPEK4LS54gJFG
How do I configure this on the Mac. I tried the wizard and tried dumping the web and the passphrase into different fields but the DANG thing will not connect to the network. There are instructions for employee's to connect intel personal computers to this wifi device so it's not an issue of only allowing corp PC's to the router, but rather just need to know how to do this w/ a mac.

In as much as the SSID Broadcast has been disabled you will need to select "Other" in the drop down Airport status in the menu. Then type in " LS54gJFG". Then you will need to put in the password "661799CE0CD0CA8F8FAC40CD48". Sometimes a $ sign in front of the password may be required to get in. Your other option is to reconfigure the router. In a browser type in the router's address. You have the router password. Then open it up to what you want. Your other option is to reset the router to factory default by pressing in and holding the reset button.

  • Linksys WRT54G LAN Security?

Hi guys, just want to drop some questions around here, hope to have some great responses! Just recently, I've configured Linksys WRT54G as a wireless access point and it's working fine, as well as i enable WEP and MAC filtering security. Now, I've also connected some user through LAN which i doubt to have no security and can easily connect to the internet without MAC filtering or any security authentication. How will i configure this router to filter/restrict the LAN users to access internet? Is it possible? I would appreciate any help from this concern. Thanks, Mike

The WRT54G is designed for home or small office use.  Because of this, the wired LAN ports on the router are protected only by "physical security", that is, they are protected because you only allow "trusted" people to come into your home.
Anyone who plugs their computer into a LAN port, will be able to access your network.
If you know the MAC address of a computer, you can use "Access Restrictions" in the router, to deny them access to the Internet.  But they will still have access to your LAN.

  • Linksys RV016 and two WANs (cable+DSL)

Is there any good description how to configure Linksys RV016  for two WANs (cable+DSL)? It looks like switching between those two  connections not splitting what is set for WAN1 and what is set for WAN2.
    I set load balancing as
    - WAN1 (cable) all HTTP up/donw should go there
    - WAN2 (DSL) GTalk, IMs, SMTP, POP3, IMAP up/down should go there
but looks like is not working that way.
When  I will go to speedtest.net and test a connection I always get less  amount then connected directly through cable :\ Also when people try to  use any session or IP sensitive web site it doesn't let them to log in  because session was expired (based on IP) or IP was changed.
    Thanks for any help.

    Enrique,
    On the RV082:
    System Management-> Dual-WAN
Change to Load Balance (Auto Mode) At the bottom of the page you will now see Protocol Binding
Select HTTPS [TCP/443~443] from the dropdown
Select the source IP or IP range: (i.e. 192.168.1.100 to 150) This will bind HTTPS for any LAN device that uses an IP in this range.
Select the Destination IP: Usually leave at 0.0.0.0 to 0.0.0.0 for ALL destinations
Select the Interface to bind the protocol to (WAN1 or WAN2)
Check the Enable box and Add to list. Save Settings at bottom of page.
    On the RV016:
    System Management-> Multi-WAN
Look for Interface Setting and select Edit for WAN1.
    Follow the steps from above.
Please let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

  • Difference between Aironet & Linksys

    Hello Experts,
I want to know the configuration difference between Cisco Aironet (like 2600, 1600 series) & Cisco Linksys APs.
Currently we have Cisco Linksys APs installed in our company , but we want to replace them with Cisco Aironet. so that is why i want to know is Aironet AP  configuration the same as Linksys AP ? is it same Graphical Interface or how ??  does it have simple configuration like linksys ?
Also please let me know about WLC configuration as well.  is it extremely tough,  do i need a training for that ?
Actually i have worked alot on Cisco Routing/Swifting , Security sides,  but dont know about wireless
please share your views and comments
    Thanks

    Hi Waheed,
Both Linksys and Cisco AP's can be configured through GUI. But as far as i know Linksys AP can not be configured through command line interface where as Cisco AP can be configured through command line interface
With regards to simplicity of configuration Linksys would be the easiest when compared to WLC and standalone Cisco AP.
Personally i think WLC confguration is simpler than stand alone AP as long as you know what you are doing :-) There are lot of configuration guide out there available on Cisco website with regards to WLC configuration or Cisco standalone AP configuration and i dont think you need any training for this.

  • Problem Extending Linksys WRT54GS wireless with AEBS

    Hello,
I know this post might seem redundant, but I really can't figure out what's wrong.
    Here is my Configuration
    Linksys Router :
    WRT54GS v7 firmware :7.50.2
I tried the step-by-step instructions that i found here :
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5338208
    Same SSID
WPA for encryption, because I read somewhere that with the new firmware, it was accepted.
And what I get, is the following :
I have a steady Green light on the AEBS, when configure for WDS.
But as soon as I get the green light, my powerbook can't connect to the internet anymore via the AEBS, but if I turn the AEBS off, then I the airport of my powerbook switches back to the routeur wifi and I have internet again.
I'd really appreciate any input, even if it is to tell me that it is not possible to make it work.
    Thanks

Yes, I understand what you are saying.
So you think that it should work, right ?
Doesn't the green light on the Airport tell me that the WDS settings are at least well configured ?
I guess what I don't really now how to set, is the internet tab, in the airport utility.
When I select using DHCP, it doesn't work : I don't get a green light.
When I select manually here are the setting I am putting :
    IP adress : 192.168.1.130
    Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Router : 192.168.1.1
And I filled the DNS fields, with the same DNS present on the linksys page,
What should I do for the "Connexion Sharing" field ?
    Thanks again

  • How to fix system error 5364 in mac on os maverick ?

    Hi,
I was trying to configure Linksys ADSL router with my iMac on OS maverick. Trying to run the set up disk I get an error message "System error 5364". Please help me fix this.

    Hi,
I too got the same message. But I solved it by just changing the IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.10 for the router and keeping the same IP of 192.168.1.1 for the ADSL modem.

  • Add Cell Phone Network Extender to Apple Network

I am currently running a Time Capsule which gets its internet feed from a cable modem (Cablevision). I am trying to add a mobile phone network extender (Verizon micro cell) which requires an internet connection (via Ethernet cable) to create a cell phone call, since I have no towers in my area.
The Verizon micro cell requires a VPN output from the router; the TC does not support VPN. So the Verizon micro cell does not get an internet connection if I connect it to the TC via one of its ethernet ports. It does connect to the internet if I connect it directly to the cable modem.
APPLE: WHY DOESN'T THE TIME CAPSULE SUPPORT VPN?!? Honestly, enough is enough, I like the plug and play part of Apple equipment, but maybe, just maybe some people need semi-pro utility out of your equipment. End of Rant.
I could buy another cable modem from Cablevision and simply plug the Verison micro cell into that, but it costs $45 per month, so that's out of the question.
I would like to understand whether the solution I've been given from a very helpful Cablevision tech guy will work and how to execute it with minimum disruption to my network (currently the TC feeds an Airport Express elsewhere in the house as a network extender, so I really do mean minimal disruption, please). In essence, it involves cascading the Linksys to the TC.
I am told to connect the cable modem to a router (I have two unused Linksys routers, one wireless and one without WiFi; my preference is to use the non WiFi router so I don't have two wireless signals), and then connect via the Linksys ethernet ports to the Verizon micro cell and the other to the TC. Apparently this is possible if the TC gets a WAN connection, as opposed to a LAN connection, from the Linksys. The micro cell works fine already, so I guess it just doesn't care.
According to Apple, the input that I'm already using, from the cable modem to the TC, is a 1 GB ethernet WAN port for connecting a cable modem. When I cascade the Linksys to the TC, the TC doesn't see an internet connection, though, and it makes sense that there are conflicting IP addresses causing the problem. The port out of the Linksys works fine as if I switch the wiring, the micro cell gets an internet connection no matter what.
Question 1: How do I configure the Linksys so that its output is something the TC can handle? Will the configuration screw up the signal that's going to the micro cell which is already OK?
Question 2: Or what do I do in AirPort Utility to set up the TC to see the signal correctly (ie as a WAN signal) from the Linksys?
Question 3: Is there anything else I need to know?
Despite the "Go Dog, Go" style of writing above, I know my way around configuring Linksys routers, so your reply can be quite technical. Thanks in advance.
    H

Well, not much telling unless you ask the carrier that you are trying to use. If it will not work with the SIM you are trying to use, there could be any number of reasons with a phone that has not been purchased through an authorized reseller. I'm afraid no one would really be able to answer your question without a lot more information.

  • Wireless Computer, Wireless Router, Wireless Print Server

I am having difficulty with a specific configuration trying to print wirelessly.
I have no problem printing from my iBook G4, Power Mac Dual G4 750, Dell Notebook, or Compaq Presario Desktop using this configuration: Linksys Wireless-G router and Linksys Wireless-G Print Server.
As long as the Print Server is connected to the Router via an ethernet cable, the network works fine - I can print from any computer.
The problem I am encountering comes from the fact that I now want to use the Print Server with another printer that is a seperate room from the router (I don't want to connect it with an ethernet cable). This shouldn't be a problem since it's a wireless print server.
I had always used a static IP to access and configure the router, but now that I have removed the ethernet connection I can't log in. In fact, when it is plugged into a different port on the router (via ethernet) I can't log into it either. When I reconnect it the original way, it is not problem.
Running the original install software on my PCs doesn't help either.
How can I make this work?
Can my wireless computers (e.g. iBook with Airport Extreme wireless card) talk directly to the Print Server, or does it talk to the Print Server via the wireless router?
I don't have an Airport base.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I do not think I can help you with your question however I have the same router and print server and I too have never been able to get the print server to work wirelessly. It's a real kick in the head too because the linksys tech nubs just talk you around in a circle saying that the deivce is wireless but that you have to use the wire. I don't know maybe its me...
Nonetheless I now have a mac laptop that works the the router but I can not get the powerbook to connect the the print server. I would be interested to know how you go your mac to work with you first printer.
