Configure login screen in EM

Hi,
i am trying to configure the login screen so that i can specify the connect string in the login page of enterprise manager. i am using the following URL
http://host:port/em/console/database/login?target=<db_name>&type=oracle_database.
However this takes me to the default connect string of listener at 1521. but for some of the databases i need the connect string to be 1528.Any idea how this can be done?

hi,
i already have 1528 as the port in targets.xml. i have 2 entries for databases on 1521, which work fine. and one entry for a database listeneing on 1528 which is not working fine. I also have a listener entry in targets.xml for 1521 and one for 1528. please let me know how i can sort this out.

  • XFCE4 with GDM - Login Screen Format Configuration?

How does one adjust/configure basic things like the size of the GDM login screen in this environment?  As it stands, it is much wider than my initial video mode allows, causing the Login button, for instance, to be off the right of the screen.  I can still log on using Tab to the button and such, but how does one fix the format problem?  Where is the configuration for the GDM login screen kept when using XFCE4 as the desktop manager?  All the suggestions so far presume you are using GNOME and not XFCE4.  Thanks!
    - Michael

I don't know how to tell which xorg video drivers are installed but will happily check if you tell me how to do so.
Adding vga=773 to the linux kernel cmdline (e/edit/f10 in grub) has no effect (no change in symptoms).  My xfce4 desktop has an initial resolution of 800x600, but automatically adjusts correctly when I fullscreen the VMware session with Ctrl+Alt-Enter, so I would have to say that xfce4 is performing properly after login.  The grub login menu acts as if the screen was perhaps 1024 wide, but it gets clipped to an actual 800x600 graphic window during login.
This is in a VMware Workstation 7.1 virtual machine installed using 'Other Linux 2.6.x kernel 64-bit' which seemed to be the closest match to Arch.

  • Client takes a long time to get network login screen from server

I have just installed the new xserve with 10.5.1

I just guess hete based on the first two logs entries that the server is unable to query DNS. All sorts of DNS lookup failures are a common source of such long timeout errors. It might be because your DNS is not set up right or because the DNS server is not accessible to the server (incorrect routing rules or network settings in general).

  • How to get the Trusted Identity Login Page with the needed parameters to make custom login screen instead of sharepoint Login Page?

    hi guys
i have configured trusted identity provider for my public facing internet portal, but i dont want to use the login screen
since i have about 10 site collection which will use this authentication.
is there a class or property that gives me the url ready with the parameters like "wa" and "wtrealm" and the redirect url based on the place the user click the link from.

You can create your own login page and specify the URL for it in the authentication provider settings of a Web Application or Zone.  So the easiest way to do what you want would be to extend your existing Web Application to a new Zone, change the login
Page url to point to use your custom zone, and tell users to use the url of that zone to login with the custom provider you have built.
If you want a single zone then you will need to modify a copy of the login page you display above and have it redirect to a custom login page for your identity provider if the pick the correct entry in the dropdown.

  • Custom Login screen - Yammer app webpart not working

    Hi Team,
I have created windows login  website and configured Yammer . it is working fine.
But I have created another website with custom login screen and If i check Yammer Feed app webpart nothing is opening.for few browsers got exception like "401 : unauthorized access".
I have placed custom log in page in "_layouts" folder.
I am new to sharepoint 2013 and Yammer. kindly let me know in details what is the problem and root cause and solution.
Otjherwise is there any chance to create a custom webpart using Yammer API ? If so where I can find it ? what are the root Dll's and root classes to implement it.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that when you access the Yammer Feed app, it occur "401:unauthorized access" .
If this error occurs in few browsers, it could be related to browser settings.  The Yammer Feed app requires the user has third party cookies enabled in their browsers.
Here are some similar threads about the solution for this issue:

  • Anonymous login via /irj always shows login screen

    Hi,
we have our EP 7.0 on SP 13. We buildt a Page with Web Page composer. I implemented the hints from SAP Help (Using Anonymous Logon to Access the Portal - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/cd/1aad4abcb98c4597f9e395a6b62f43/frameset.htm).
We are using named anonymous users. The last problem is now that if we try to log on via anonymous users, the navigation appears, but in the content we only get the login screen.
In the log files you can see this messages:
ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE security role [service.jms.default.authorization : administrators] referencing J2EE security role [SAP-J2EE-Engine : administrators]
    and before
ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE security role [SAP-J2EE-Engine : administrators]
It is very urgent. So if anybody has an idea...
    Best,
    Stephan

You already have iViews at this level. You just don't know by now.
Here are the steps you need to do to make WPC Pages available to anonymous users.
    1. Configuration in PCD - go to Content Administration -> Portal Content-> Portal Content -> Web Page Composer -> Container iViews -> WPC
Default Containers. All of the iViews in this location should have the
"anonymous" authentication scheme. The next location which should be
checked is Content Administration -> Portal Content -> Portal Content ->Web Page Composer -> iView Templates. Again all of the iViews should
have the "anonymous" authentication scheme. The same applies to all the
templates which reside in Content Administration -> Portal Content ->
Portal Content -> Web Page Composer -> Page Layout Templates. Finally
check if all the pages which reside in Content Administration -> Portal
Content -> Portal Content -> Web Page Composer -> Page Layouts have the
    "anonymous" authentication scheme.
    2. Configuration in KM - make sure that all the pages, which should be
displayed to an anonymous user have in their permissions the Anonymous
    Users Group.
    3. Security zones - if you go to System Administration -> Permissions ->Security Zones -> com.sap.nw.wpc -> wpc -> no_safety and you open the
permissions of this object, the Anonymous Users group must be added in
    the list.
If all mentioned objects have their setting as described and you still
experience problems (e.g. you see a browser dialog window for
authentication), the reason most probably is, that the KM is not
configured for anonymous access. A full description of the needed steps
    is provided with note 837898.
That is the way, it worked for me. As you see, the WPC uses iViews to display your developed content. Everything in the portal is always some kind of iView.
When you follow these inestructions, your problem should be solved.

  • Can`t Login to WAS/NWA (always redirected to login screen)

    Dear Gurus,
We tried to implement SSO logon Tickets following [steps|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a0042af5-5406-2c10-f689-fcc3b2d13d2f], and now we can`t login to any netweaber tool (NWA, User Admin, etc).

If you are presented repeatedly with the logon page without a message such  'user authentication failed' or similiar, despite the fact that the entered
credentials were correct (you can check this by logging onto the ABAP stack with the same credentials), then the problem possibly lies in the ticket creation or evaluation and/or misconfiguration of the ticket login module stack.
The attached log shows successful authentication by J2EE_ADMIN with an already existing logon ticket, not an authentication attempt with userID and password so this is not the most relevant trace entry for your problem with logging on wiith userID and password. It does show however at the time this trace entry was written that the 'ticket' login module stack was configured correctly and evaluation of tickets was working without problem at that time
Are you sure these trace entries are from the time of the last logon attempt?
Instead of looking in the security log, look in the servers defaultTrace file for traces written during the failed logon by userid and password. If you are comfortable with adjusting trace severities, follow note 701205 section "Logging and Tracing" and set the trace locations mentioned there to ALL before reproducing the failed logon for more debug info. Remember to set them back to default levels afterwards
You can check in the Visual Administrator, that the ticket login module stack includes the following modules in this order, with these flags, and at least these options.
    EvaluateTicketLoginModule  SUFFICIENT   {ume.configuration.active=true, *}
    BasicPasswordLoginModule   REQUISITE
    CreateTicketLoginModule    OPTIONAL     {ume.configuration.active=true}
list of additional ACL parameters such as trusteddn etc
Sorry about the format of this reply, not sure how to correct it, in preview the formatting is fine

I think the way you have configured is the culprit, change the port and try. Take a look at the below URL.

  • Outlook web login screen not displaying correctly on Exchange 2007 service pack install

    Hello everyone,
I believe our exchange server installed a service pack 3 update and after rebooting the server, we noticed that the Outlook web access login screen is not displaying correctly.  The page looks white with some black X's (I think that's where the

    Hi,
I have seen this issue in another similar thread, that issue was solved by re-creating the OWA virtual directory.
Please try the following steps to solve this issue.
Open EMC, navigate to Server Configuration -> Client Access, under Outlook Web App tab, double-click owa (default web site) properties.
Then check InternalURL, ExternalURL, Forms-Based Authentication settings ect
Open EMS, use Get-OwaVirtualDirectory get the list of virtual directories and identify the directory which is giving the problem.
    Remove it with this command
    Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory “owa (Default Web Site)”
Now create it again with the following command
New-OwaVirtualDirectory -OwaVersion “Exchange2007″ -Name “owa (Default Web Site)”
Then configure the “owa” virtual directory settings like InternalURL, ExternalURL, Forms-Based Authentications etc… & check the OWA by logging with some test users.
    Best Regards.

  • MacBook Pro Freezes in Login Screen

    Hello,
I've encountered a strange error on my 08 MBP (Should not be hardware related). When my computer boots up and gets to the login screen, it simply stops. Mouse clicks and key hits (either onboard or USB devices) do not appear to register, as nothing happens when I do either of these, but I can however move the cursor around freely. Same result in safe boot.
I've checked hardware out via Hardware Test and such, and everything checks out fine. Verbose Boot just goes right on through without stopping. I've connected the computer as a FW drive and pulled the system logs, where I get the following:

Yesterday, I did install MathType. Could this be causing the problem, which I assume is being cause by a font error? If so, how does a font prevent me from using my computer? I would like to resolve this without needing to reinstall OS, as I just did that 7 days ago due to HD failure, which I am still working on recovering preferences, etc. from.
    Help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

Could boot up holding down command+s so you get into single user mode. Run the fsck like it says on the screen.
Then I would mount the hard drive and delete caches in /Library/Caches and /System/Library/Caches and probably caches in /private/var/db/dyld
If your not sure use these commands, but be careful make sure your in the correct directory by running ls to list the contents or pwd to see what directory your in. Running rm -rf will force deletion of everything in that directory using * :
    cd /Library/Caches
    rm -rf *
    cd /System/Library/Caches
    rm -rf *
    cd /private/var/db/dyld
    rm -rf *
If all else fails you can always throw the Snow Leopard CD in and reinstall the OS. It shouldn't hurt your files any in your profile. Snow Leopard is pretty much dummy proof when reinstalling.
Of use a third party utility like Disk Warrior or something to maybe fix an error. Could try Tech Tool Pro you get with Applecare as well, but I haven't used that in years. Not sure what it does now.

  • BOE-XI (R2) - Rename CMS name in Login Screen for CLUSTER

    BOE-XI (R2)
Cluster with Two (2) physical servers side-by-side hosting all BOE services.
Both Tomcat and IIS installed on both physical servers.
We don't want the end-users of InfoView to see/know the underlying server names (eg. BOE_SERVER_1 and BOE_SERVER_2 ) in the URL for the CMC / InfoView - or in the CMS Name on the login screens for those applications.
I assume that we can use some kind of DNS service in front of the website to mask that, but I don't know how we can "rename" it in the CMS name in Login Screen.
What we want is to use a name like BOE_PROD for the URL path -  and for the CMS Name on the login screens for CMC / InfoView
Anyone done this before...? Any documentation you can point me to...?
    Thanks in advance!

Here is one of my best findings on the matter.
    DNS ---
The DNS bit is not documented but here is how I achieve this. The cluster configuration should be documented in the deployment or admin guide.
For XIr2 to run with DNS, you need to add -port to the CMS, IFRS, OFRS and RAS (if you use crystal) - check the SAP notes to see because there are differeences between the CMS and other services for this. You will use the DNS name in this parameter instead of the hostname.
From what you explained, you will need at least two DNS's
In -port, use the dns name for the CMS (the DNS MUST match the IP address of the server where the CMS run if you want it to work)
In EVERY services, you will need to change the -ns parameter to match the DNS name other registration will fail.
Client tools will have to use the DNS or clustername.
From my tests, DONT change -name. If you manage to do so, feel free to tell us more about it.
    --- Cluster name ---
For that bit, I'll give the quick information, but the reference is the documentation.
What follows is for tomcat. However, as stated above, the documentation explains pretty well how to achieve this for IIS too and you just need to replace hostname by fqdn in every bit that tells you how to configure this.
For the name visible on the logon page on InfoView, it is in the web.xml Note: you can set the default name to the cluster name and even hide the CMS name if you want. (tomcat/webapps/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/web-inf/web.xml)
The default value for the cms should be there, and a specific part is commented for the cluster names. If you want to use the clustername as the default value, you'll need to uncomment the part for it and fill in the required information (ClusterName and CMS DNS names) and then change the default value. This is required because Tomcat doesnt know how to resolve the clustername otherwise.
Same thing goes for the CMC: (tomcat/webapps/businessobjects/enterprise115/adminlaunch/web-inf/web.xml)
Restart Tomcat and BO and you have a fully DNS compliant BO server with a cluster name based on the DNS.
Let us know how it goes.
    Cheers,

  • Login screen crashing

After starting our solaris 10 machine, the login screen is flashing and eventually the console shows up. I have tried several suggestions from some forum posts and google searchs but none seemed to have fixed the problem.
What steps should I take to fix this problem? The server runs on sparc and has a xvr-500 video card.
It is possible someone in the past may have changed the configuration of xorg, gdm, and other things...so keep that in mind.
EDIT: After a reboot the login screen will flash several times and then freeze completely. I am stumped.

I searched the forums and found out what my problem is.

  • Removed Nouveau, installed Nvidia, black login screen

    Hi there!
Seems like I was just here yesterday...  But seriously, it's coming together.
Today I hooked up my second monitor and tried to get the "one big monitor" effect with noveau, but it wasn't recognizing my setup.  I've had success with installing proprietary nvidia stuff before, so I did the
    "# pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utils"
after removing "nouveau-dri" and the "libgl" business.   I did all that from the bash login screen (which I'd like to keep as the first screen, instead of booting directly into GUI/DE).  After I rebooted, like the guide says to do, the bootloader went through fine, but then sat at a black screen.  After a couple of hard reboots I tried to just type root, password, and kdm, even though I couldn't see anything on the screen.  That worked to get me into the DE.  Problem is, that sucks and I have no idea how to get my bash login screen back, or what I did to lose it.  Anyone know where to look or what to do?  I've not found any info on the forum, or via google... Thank you once again!

My video card is an Nvidia GEForce 9400 GT.  There are no "EE" errors in the Xorg.0.log, a couple of fails, to do with APCI, and nothing in the errors.log or daemon.log (whether or not I should look in those for this issue, I'm still learning.  I did indeed run "nvidia-xconfig" as root.  Not sure what I'm missing.  It does now recognize both monitors after I blindly root login and launch kdm, but ya know... Below is the var/log/xorg.0.log in case this means anything to anyone out there... I'm thinking about doing a fresh install now that I know a few more things.
I installed the entire kdm-meta package and I only really want to install a terminal and do the rest of it that way, if possible.  If it's any pennance for my blatant naievete, I am having fun learning from these mistakes!  Thanks for the input non-noobs!
    Cheers!

  • Looping login screen in Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008

    Hello,
I am using Visual Studio 2008 with the Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008. Visual Studio and the Crystal Reports Basic Runtime for Visual Studio 2008 (x64) are installed on both the development and production boxes.  I am using Crystal Reports via Visual Studio and do not have the full blown version of Crystal Reports installed on my machine.
We have used Visual Studio to create an aspx webpage and would like to use Crystal Reports to display a graph. The report displays fine in debug mode, but displays a looping login screen when moved into production on the web server. The web server is using Windows Server 2008 (x64) with IIS 7. We have tried passing the logon parameters to the crystal report during the page init event with the auto-bind feature enabled on the crystal report viewer. A MySQL database provides the data for the report. All ODBC data sources have been configured the same on both machines.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

    Hello,
Use a tool called ProcessMonitor from Microsoft and watch what happens when you try to log on.
Also can you verify you created your DSN using the 64 bit ODBC Admin and that you are using a System DSN so IIS can find it.
And that the MySQL ODBC drive is also 64 bit?
If you can read ODBC trace logs you could enable it also and see what error you are getting.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Discoverer Plus Applet - Cant get login screen

    Hi,
I have discoverer 4i set up on Linux and Win 2000 with 9ias 1.0.2.2.
The discoverer viewer works fine in both environment.
The discoverer plus works fine with WIN 2000.
However with Linux the applet does not bring the login screen. The applet continue to be displayed but is not navigable.
    Thanks
    Shailesh

    Hi,
This happens due to the configuration of the browser and the java installed.
First make sure the configuration in the browser are set correctly, pop up blocker disabled, lan setting do not prevent access to the discoverer server and son on...
Try to remove any java version he has on the computer and install a fresh new JRE.
    Now try again.
