Configure Publishing to BO BI 4.0

Hi all
We have an XI 3.1 installation. WE configured the publishing in the transaction /crystal/rptadmin. All things working fine:
publish the reoirts to bo system and run the reports from SAPGui.
Now we installed a new BI 4.0 SP2 patch4 system. We made the same configuration for publishing to BI 4.0.
The publishing to BO system is working fine. But if we want run the report from SAPGui we got the error, that he find the page.
This message is correct, then in the configuration of the Enterprise system in the TA /crystal/rptadmin we configerd in the tab 'HTTP' with this settings:
Protocol

Here is the complete call:

  • Problem in shutdown OC4J when configure Publisher

I have OBI installed on Linux server and I am configuring Publisher deployed on OC4J. According to the document:
    Oracle® Business Intelligence Publisher
Deploying Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher in J2EE Application Servers
    Release 10.1.3.4
Part No. B32481-03the last step is to restart the application server, in this case it is OC4J. I see, using ps -fe|grep oc4j, a OC4J running as:
    /bin/sh /u01/app/obiee/oc4j_bi/bin/oc4j -start
and I find the port from /u01/app/obiee/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/config/rmi.xml
    ssl-port = "23943"
Then I shutdown OC4J with command
    /bin/sh /u01/app/obiee/oc4j_bi/bin/oc4j -shutdown -port 23791 -password javapassword
    Got error messgae
Error: Could not connect to the remote server. Please check if the server is down or the client is using invalid host, ORMI port or password to connect: Connection refused
Since the server is up, and the port is from the rmi.xml, can the problem due to the password. I use the password as I install OBIEE. What could be wrong?
    Thank you for help.

    Hi
During the install did you opt for the OC4J install rather than to an existing web server? Im assuming yes, you would have had to provide the user/pwd for the OC4J container - so that could be the issue. In my desperation in the past I have just killed the oc4j session, ps -ef | grep java will find it.
When you bring it back up, it recovers very nicely with no ill affects.

  • AppV5 Office 2013 (Visio) couldn't get published (failed configuration in folder ProgramData\App-V 0x7D401F30-0x5)

    Environment:
Server: AppV 5 SP1 Pub and Mgmt server (no Hotfixes applied)
Client: Windows 7 SP1 x64 with AppV 5.0 SP2 client (tried RTM and with HF5)

Adding and Publishing locally with Powershell works like expected. But using the App-V 5.0 Mgmt/Publishing server it fails on all clients.

So, Access denied (0x5) on Integrator.exe in ProgramData? As we have AppLocker in place, checked the AppLocker logs. But no trace in there.
    Other AppV5 applications does work
Tested on two different App-V 5 Pub Servers (5.0 SP1 and SP1 with HF4), same behaviour.
Tested on three Win7 SP1 x64 clients, same behaviour.
EnablePackageScripts (client config) is enabled on all clients.
    Issue was
reported before on the forums, but Domain Users and Domain Computers have already READ permissions to the AppV Content Share (NTFS permissions) where the .appv file is stored.
Added (as a test) Domain Computers and Everyone Full Control to c:\ProgramData\App-V, doesn’t solve it.
Cannot use ProcMon, because the Publish event occurs before user login.
I’m out of ideas. Someone that could assist me please?

The above fix was a lucky shot.
    This solved it (hopefully) for good;

  • Bi publisher cluster on weblogic 10.3

I'm trying to setup a BI publisher cluster on weblogic server. I managed to do it on on one physical machine. I deployed war application as an exploded archive and selected "I will make the deployment accessible from the following location C:\apps\xmlpsever.war", and in xmlp-server-config.xml I setup repository as "C:\apps\xmlpsever.war\home\repository\XMLP", and everything works fine.
When I try to do same thing, just that my weblogic machines are different physycal machines I have a problem. If I deploy an application in a war package it doesn't work, and if i deploy it as an exploded archive (like said in Bi publisher Installation Guide) it copies the application to all physical machines but application doesn't deploy well because of BI publisher repository path. I tried to put a repository in one folder, share that folder and then map it to X: on every machine, it doesn't help.
Thank you for any help regarding how to configure publisher repository, XMLDB or any solution?

your cluster is unicast or multicast? if you are using unicast, I would suggest switching to multicast and see if the problem still occurs.
    keep us posted.

  • Application publishing issues after temp profile usage

We haven't figured out the solusion to this issue but we do know the cause and a workaround for it that works, kind of...
A brief description would be that after permission issues for some users roaming profile storage on the fileserver application publishing and several applications fail in a different way for different users. This is due to the creation of C:\Users\TEMP,
TEMP.DOMAIN etc folders rather than using C:\Users\Username folders. The issue seems to be that App-V 5 client remembers this temporary folder in a way that we havent figured out yet, all references to the temp folders for each users account UID in the
registry has been removed and the roaming profie was deleted locally and on the fileserver YET app-v remembers the path C:\Users\TEMP and tried to create shortcuts etc there without success --> the packag then failes completely and dissapears from the client/powershell
Get-AppvClientPackage view as if its not even published to the user.
The BIG question is how the "#¤/&¤ can you get the App-V client to forget about the C:\Users\TEMP foders and retun to the users correct folder? We have tried to remove all user accounts UID from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AppV\MAV\Configuration\Packages
etc and also the users profiles so this data must be stored somewhere else. The issue is local to specific XenApp servers, if the temporary profile wasnt created on a server the issue will never appear there.
The workaround is that all users with the issue have full access to the paths C:\Users\TEMP and C:\Users\TEMP.DOMAIN folders, however when app-v generates shortcuts in that folders we'll need to manually move them to the correct path so that they are
    available to the users, smooth!
The environment is based on 4x Windows 2008 R2 server with citrix XenApp 6.5. App-V 5 SP1 RDS client is installed and configured to use a single publishing server "Add-AppvPublishingServer -Name SERVERNAME -URL
    http://FQDN:8080"
    The details:
(we think) Some users had the follow error since they couldn't access the faulty profile path TEMP or TEMP.DOMAIN:
Failed to create file by callback data: \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AppV\Client\VFS\FE7FE758-FDD8-4208-AF3D-E2505AEF6791\AppData\Adobe\Acrobat\
Another user got only one package (the only package without a shortcut):
This user receives 1 out of 8 packages.
We have tried removing the local and centrally stored roaming profile without any change.

We noticed thet the user DOMAIN\user had a TEMP.DOMAIN profile path due to faulty permissions on the profile store and that this path thoug its fixed was stil configured in the AppV part registry according to below.
Since this key is global to the server and not bound to the user account it wasnt removed with the user profile, we tried removing the specific keys manually where the user account UID occured without any change to the problem. The removed keys werent
    regenerated in the registry though.
The specific user account SID uses TEMP.DOMAIN paths (\Users\TEMP.DOMAIN\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AppV\Client\VFS) for two String Value names "TargetLongName" and "TargetShortNamefolders" in the following key (and others):
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AppV\MAV\Configuration\Packages\04ADC3E8-E368-4B95-98AF-F53A625070CD_C248B175-B174-41F5-A4D6-62835CF86519\UserConfig\S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXX
As mentioned the UID keys "S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXX" did not reappear UNTILL we manually created the folder C:\Users\TEMP.DOMAIN with full permissions for the affected user. Once this folder was created App-V recreated the registry keys "S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXX"
with the correct \Users\USERNAME\* values however the icons for the applications was distributed to the C:\TEMP.DOMAIN\Desktop folder and since the users desktop is accually in C:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop none of the icons was visible to the user.
Another user had similar issues but with the java plugin for internet explorer failing without error messages, once that user got access to C:\Users\TEMP.DOMAIN the user was again able to run java.

    Cheers,
Ended up putting in some workarounds.

  • Publish Settings for iOS provisioning

Under http://helpx.adobe.com/director/using/publishing-ios-devices-using-director.html#id_27206 there is a bullet point titled, Provisioning File Path For Signing The App.
There it says, 'Download the mobile Provisioning file path after creating it and then point the file to the "Provisioning file path for signing the app" field.'
What does that mean? I didn't know it's possible to download a file path! In that last quotation, should Adobe have said "file", not "file path"? Should Adobe have said, "select the file by clicking on the Provisioning File Path for signing the app field"?
In Director's Publish Settings window, there is a button labeled "…" to the right of that Provisioning File Path for signing the app field. When I click it, I see a file opening dialog window that initially shows contents of a "Provisioning Profiles" folder. I see four mysteriously-named files showing there, and I cannot figure out which one I should choose. I can't even find those four files or that "Provisioning Profiles" folder on my computer (I searched using the OS X Finder).
Also, Adobe should revise http://helpx.adobe.com/director/using/publishing-ios-devices-using-director.html#id_27206 to explain this better.

If Adobe did revise that web page I linked to, they should clear up two other things:
First, on that page, it says:
"You can use the template info.plist from the /Configuration/Publish iOS Resources/ folder and make changes to it as needed by your app."
In my Director (with the hotfix2 update installed), the field that quotation refers to is pre-filled with Macintosh HD:Applications:Adobe Director 12:Configuration:Projector iOS Resources:Info.plist so /Configuration/Publish iOS Resources/ is wrong.
Second, on that page it gives a final instruction to "Click Publish." It gives no hint of what to do next.
Publishing creates a file in the same folder as the Director movie source file used to make it. That new file's name ends with a .ipa extension.
I wish there were links to apple.com web pages that explain what to do with the published file.
For testing, here is what I did: On my computer, double-clicking that .ipa file caused iTunes to launch. I clicked the button for my connected iPad, seen in the upper-right of the iTunes window. In the toobar that stretches across the top of the window, I clicked on Apps. I clicked the Install button. I clicked the Apply button in the lower-right corner of the window.
An icon for my test app showed on the iPad. I tapped it and the app launched successfully.
I hope that this explanation helps somebody, and that Adobe fixes that web page.

  • Ipa publish settings woes

Hi I'm trying to get my 'Test.ipa' compiled.
But I can't get my ipa to compile - when I hit 'Publish' button, the dialogue asks me where to save 'Test.exe'
    (-surely that should be 'Test.ipa'?)
Then a progress bar whizzed by, but no 'Test.ipa' appears..
I have previously made apps for the app store, so I know a bit about provisioning files etc.
    I updated director 12 with hotfix4
I created a new provisioning profile for the app using a wildcard bundle identifier
I am using my developer profile
Also confused about what to do with 'info.plist'
    The documentation breezily states:
"You can use the template info.plist from the /Configuration/Publish iOS Resources/ folder and make changes to it as needed by your app."
-so I made a copy of info.plist, put it in my project folder, and point the publish settings at it..
What settings would I need to change?
    the documentation also says:
"..values for the following fields are picked up from the iOS tab at the time of publishing"
so i assume that by editing the iOs publish settings info plist gets the info it needs?
    Or what?

"File" -> "Publish Settings" -> "Formats"
Check for "iOS Projector" and uncheck everything else. Make sure you really picked a name that ends with *.ipa in the field where the filename is specified.
"File" -> "Publish Settings" -> "iOS"
Here you put in all the info that is needed and that has to be correct with the provisioning file and the other stuff apple invented to make things secure.
The "info.plist" (you can open it by just doubleclicking) will contain all the infos that are related to the app. I guess it would be better if this file would also be produces with director and you would get some interface to insert icons, splashscreens and the other settings, but somehow it is this way now.
You can add for example this key to the info.plist that tells your app to deal with the retina display:
    DIR_disable_retina YES
YES is the value you have to add. This will turn off retina if not needed.

  • G6: Publisher: News Article window opens doc attachments in same window

Is there a way to configure publisher so documents that have been linked through the rich text editor open in a new window?
By default they open in the same window.
    Thanks for any help,
    Geoff

This is a tip I got from ehow.com:
"While less common in Firefox, runtime errors can still occur on that browser. To prevent it from happening again, merely uninstall and reinstall Firefox on your computer."

  • Set-Up Publish Services Help - Facebook, Smugmug, Shutterfly

Hi.  I'm relatively new to Lightroom 5 and am trying to set-up/configure publish services to be able to share photos on Facebook, Shutterfly, and Smugmug.  In all instances I am getting stuck when trying to authenticate my account on each of these social sites.  Basically I enter my log-in information and hit authenticate and then nothing happens.  Please advise what I am doing incorrectly.  Thank you!

That's what happened to me. Did you get any answer from the Adobe "support"?

  • Best Configuration for T4-4 and live migration

I have several T4-4 servers with Solaris 11.1
What kind of settings I need for production environments with OVM live migration?
Should I use OVM manager for rugged environments?
Should I set two io-domain on each server?
Considering that I do live migration, for guess ldom system disk should I configure (publish) one big LUN to all servers or just a separate LUN for each ldom guest.

For the first questions: it's best to have separate LUNs or other backend disks for each guest - otherwise how would you plan to share them across different guests and systems? Separate LUNs also is good for performance by encouraging parallel I/O. Choice of using an additional I/O domain is up to you, but it's very typical for production users because of the resiliency it adds.
For advice on live migration, seehttps://blogs.oracle.com/jsavit/entry/best_practices_live_migration
Other blog posts after that discuss availability and performance.
    Hope that helps, Jeff

  • Computer Configuration \ Assigned Applications

Hi everyone, Im using the above to push out the new Java. Works great! However I did notice a difference between Windows 7 and Windows XP. Windows XP used to tell the end user it was installing XYZ application and show a percentage. I notice that Windows
7 installs it without any visual indication that its happening. Anyway to adjust that ? I could be off base that could only happen with 'User Configuration \ Published Applications'. Can't recall.

Starting with Vista, the installer doesn't show up anymore. But you can
enable http://gpsearch.azurewebsites.net/#1842 to have W7 show at least
which software it is currently installing.
