when i search anything in my publishing site the search results display from all sites in sharepoint farm.
how i configure search results to display only this site:
i found there is no option in sitesettings>searcscopes
and i created a custom search results page.

For your issue, you can go to Site Settings -> Site Collection Administration -> Search Settings -> set "Site Collection Search Dropdown Mode" to "Show scopes dropdown":

I am trying to implement custom grouping for search result items. I would like to group them by a managed property, but without using result blocks (query rules). The idea is to sort the results by the property and then compare the current item (ctx.CurrentItem)
with the previous item using ctx.CurrentItem.ParentTableReference. If a new property value is detected we insert a new 'group header' (just some simple html). The problem is the ParentTableReference is undefined. Shouldn't there be such a property in current

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to customize search result items display template.
I suggest you get enumerate all properties of JavaScript context object and debug you code to watch the
ctx.CurrentItem object.

Unable to open pdf files from search results page in Office 365 site
Hi folks,
I am getting this issue since a while now. In office 365 site, if I click on links that points to pdf files in search results page, I get this -
“The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect”.
These pdf files are stored in the same site and I am able to open them in adobe reader directly from the document library but not from the search results page.
I have already gone this post and doesn't help me -

How to configure the iTunes,to display only folder name as Album under Music.
I have a folder with name "English" under this I have plenty of folders which are either movie names or custom names created by me,inside of these are the music files. I just want all the files to be copied to the iPod with out any album artwork(which the itunes display under "Album By Artist" contains).The "Album By Artist" doesnt seem to contain just the folder name,it gets something else like the website from where the music file downloaded. This makes me irritating to browse through iPod or iTunes.
Please help me in configuring,so that I can just see the same folder/music hierarchy I see in my windows machine in the iPod.Yep, I agree with Jurjen. It is not only limited to ACTVT, but rather fields of other objects as well which are "action" or "activity" related.
I would start the other way around - give them '03' only and investigate any transaction specific claims that it is not enough. There will be a few...

one secure website loads painfully slow (7 minutes !). Only this site. How can I streamline firefox to load these pages faster? This started happening only after I switched from McAffee to Norton Security Suite. Other secure sites load just fine.

Hi All,
I am crawling documents from a file server. I created a new content source and crawled the documents. All documents are crawled successfully.
Then I went to my enterprise search center site collection and created a new result source. I have added the query to use above content source.
After that, on a page I am trying to configure the search results web part to display documents using this result source. Now the problem is:
It displays all the documents that are crawled without searching for anything. I mean first it should not display any results. If a user searches for something , then according to that search it should display results.
Any idea how to do this in the web part? I am using SharePoint 2013 on premise enterprise edition. No code. Totally OOTB.Hi Mohan,
What did you use for the Query text in the result source?
I could reproduce this issue when I used Query text like: {searchTerms} Path:”http://sps2k13sp/sites/First/Shared%20Documents”
Then I changed the Query to
{?{searchTerms}
Path:"http://sps2k13sp/sites/First/Shared%20Documents"}
, then Search result web part didn’t return results without searching.
So , check your result source, and use the Query like the above(adding "{?...}").

Search results not displaying correct last modified date
Hello
I have a bit of a strange issue. I have a SharePoint site that was upgraded from SP2010 to SP2013. A document has been created and uploaded into SharePoint on 1 August 2014 and the file has since been edited. In the search results the last
modified date is appearing as '8 January'. Note that this document was not originally created from a blank one but was instead a Word document that was received by the user and then edited and then uploaded into SharePoint.
I have checked my locale settings and everything is set to New Zealand.
I have rerun a full crawl on my search database and this hasn't helped.
Also, I have multiple sharepoint web applications on my server using the same search service application. is it best to separate these out?Hi Martin,
As I understand, the issue you encountered is the LastModifiedTime displayed incorrect in search result.
If you go to CA > Search service application > Search schema, in Managed Properties, type LastModifiedTime, then you will get LastModifiedTime property. Click it and you will find the property is mapped to five crawled properties.
I’d recommend you create a new managed property and only map it to ows_modified property. Then test the issue again.

My google search results are displayed shortened in firefox
Hello, my name is Timothy White, and I use FireFox almost exclusively as my browser and I noticed some months back that my google search results for the "shopping" engine suddenly became shortened. That is to say that depending on what I search for, I have only 2-4 or so columns of results displayed. The weirdest part is if I change the results to be displayed by price rather than by relevance, I often receive totally different results that were not displayed before.
Naturally, I harassed the google technical help twice before I received an answer, which was that they had no idea what I was talking about. Thinking that this may not be a problem on their end, I mirrored my search results in Internet Explorer as well, and found that IE gave me many pages of results. Changing the sorting there, gave me the same first 2 or 3 pages FireFox displayed, followed by ll the rest.
So FireFox is somehow cutting off the product searches after a certain number of results. I searched google (on IE now of course), and your technical help database to see if anyone else had this problem, and as far as I know, its a new one. Either that or you guys are playing a cruel trick on me, which I hope is not true, or I am going completely crazy, which I really, really hope is not true either.
So, are there any ideas why this is happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and let me know if you need any more info. Thanks,

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).

Jump directly to search-result details if only one (1) hit
I have a report where the user can limit the number of records shown via a couple of text fields. (do a search so to speak)
In the report the user can click a link and see details for the given record.
My customer would like the users to be taken directly to the details if the users search results in only one record.
Has anyone done something similar ?

ChristianThis would be a way to do it:
Say you have three pages:
Page 1 - Search page (where you enter your search criteria and click a "Search" button)
Page 2 - Search results page (lists multiple found records and has drill-down links to view details of any particular record)
Page 3 - Record details page (shows details for just one record. This would be the page you are taken to when you drill down into a particular record from Page 2.)
On Page 1 have an After Submit PL/SQL Process looking something like this:

So if only one record is matched then you are automatically taken to Page 3 where the details of this one record can be shown (and you know which record to display as its ID has been passed in :P3_ID.) If more than one record (or zero records) are returned then you are taken to the search results page (Page 2) where your search results can be displayed as normal.

OIM 11g R2 Beta: Display default search results while displaying Catalog
All,
We are trying to achieve displaying a default search results automatically (based on any criteria) while displaying the Catalog screen. By OOTB feature, the Catalog search is empty and there won't be any results displayed while displaying the Catalog screen. Please provide any directions or inputs for achieving this functionality if anyone is aware of how to achieve this functionality.

Kishore.In Search box enter any search item and click "Add to Cart" and then click "Checkout". Now in the same catalog screen at the right side of list of Cart Items you can see button as "Save As Profile". Give any name to this Profile and save the profile. Now if you click Catalog again, you can see the created profile under catalog search.

Firefox (25.0.1) and Google worked well together until 11/26/2013 when a guest user searched on Google. Google search still works well on IE and Chrome. The problem is only on Firefox and only with Google. Bing, Ask, Yahoo, Wikipedia all perform and display as expected. No recent installs or upgrades. No other search engine returns results in a narrow column on the left. It is as if the guest user dragged the results to the left column and that display became the default. I can not restore the prior display. I have restarted Windows. I have reinstalled Firefox, but that has not fixed the problem. I have disabled all add-ons (I do not have any) and run in safe mode, The problem still exists. Appearance is Default 25.0.1

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Command+B on Mac).<br />
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.<br />
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

Search results not displayed properly
Hi,
I've found a bug in my application. I have programmed a search field which is used to filter the results returned by the report query. When the page loads it displays all the items in the database. If i want to filter the results i type in the search field, click go and the results are filtered accordingly. It works perfectly. BUT it fails if the following scenario occurs:
- i clear the search field and click go so I have all the records in the database contained in the report again (only displaying 1-15 of 300+)
- i then click on the Next button to display records 15-30 (only 15 records are displayed per page).
- if i perform a search on this second page, the results are not displayed. The report says 'Displaying 1-2 of 2 results' for example, along with table column headings, but nothing in the report.
In other words my search only seems to work if it is done on the first page of results. I'm thinking I may need to clear the cache or something, but I dont know exactly what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
TomNo worries, I sussed it. Had to add a process to the page to reset pagination.

When I try to search in any of my personal email accounts, it lists the number of results, and the most recent date, but none of the actual emails display in the search window. This only happens with personal email, my enterprise email search functions normally. Any suggestions?
Also, I have a Facebook icon in the notification/quick access area that won't go away. I think I clicked in and out of the Facebook app too quickly and it didn't clear. Can these notifications be removed?I have the exact same issue. The display shows the number of results and the date of the last , but not the actual emailsI am looking for.

We have a RH8 project that has a custom, vertical layout that doesn't display the TOC, just some menu buttons and body content (WebHelp). When we search, the TOC page open, however, the page is so truncated that only part of the first result displays along with a scroll bar.
