Configure share button to include outlook for mac

When I right click on a document and then share, no email program is listed- how do I configure share button to include Outlook for Mac? I want to email documents.

Unfortunately there is no built-in way to accomplish this.

This seems to be a problem with the sandboxing in Mt. Lion. I do not know of any work-around so far, other than falling back on Mail.app, sorry.

  • HT204053 I am unable to sync all contacts on my iMac (which includes outlook for Mac contacts) with my iPad mini, how do I do this, I have enabled icloud on both devices and ticked all the boxes.

I am unable to sync all contact in my address book on my imac with my ipad mini, it looks like only icloud & yahoo contact sync leaving out the ones in outlook for mac.  I have enabled icloud on both devices and ticked all the boxes.

Thanks for that, but my Outlook contacts are synced to and all in my mac contacts book, does this not meen they would go to icloud,
No, they are in the On My Mac account in the Mac Contacts app, not iCloud.
or are they in a different format despite being in mac contacts?  If so can the outlook contacts be exported in some other way to icloud?
Outlook is not compatible with iCloud, check Microsofts site if you need more verification.
If you want them in iCloud use Mac Contacts and move them from On My Mac to iCloud. This will remove them from Outlook.

  • Outlook for Mac.  All emails go to trash.

    Thank you.
I have just configured my company emails to Outlook for Mac on my MacBookPro.  It worked well,  but as of last Thursday, all of my incoming emails will go first to inbox and then immediately go to trash.  They are shown unopened in trash.
Now,  I have two accounts going to OutLook.  My hotmail account is going there with no issues.
    Thanks,
    Randall

For the second problem, as long as the email is left on the server, all other devices and webmail will download the messages with they retrieve mail. The only way to stop that is to set each device or application to delete the message from the server once read, moved from the inbox, or immediately after downloading. You can do this on some or all devices.
Example: you can set your iPhone to leave the messages on the server if you want to download them later on your computer and you can set your computer to delete the message when downloaded on it so you won't have to view them on the iPhone later. However, if your iPhone is always on and it downloads email before you download it to the computer, it will still be on your iPhone.
These settings can be done in Mail>Preferences under the Accounts Tab and advanced Tab. How you set each device depends on how you want to keep mail. Most people want to save a copy forever. If so, you need to make sure they stay on the server until they are downloaded on the device you want to keep them on. If you don't need to keep messages, then set each device to delete from the server once downloaded.
If you have an IMAP account, then things get a bit different on everything. I should have asked that first.
On you original problem, when using so many devices, things get confusing when using so many devices to access the same things. Especially with IMAP. Settings on one can change the behavior on other devices. Does the problem of your messages going to the trash happen only when you read it on the MacBook first, or is it random even when you first view it on the Mac Pro. And, if it's in the trash on the Mac Pro, is it in the trash on the iPad also?

  • How to view my family share calendar in outlook for mac 2011 (ical)

    Hey All
    Problem:
Want to view my family share calendar in outlook for mac 2011.
Want to have them sync on the fly (push)
Currently running 2 exchange mailboxes which have their own mailboxes and calendars which you can toggle between.
For the PC this is a relatively straight forward task.. You can add an additional calendar to outlook and you are away. Wife's PC can view her own personal exchange calendar and on a separate tab she can view, edit, print etc the family share calendar.
For outlook for Mac, I've tried a few work arounds and none of them actually work, all the Apple documentation available doesn't really cover this.
Any help would be much appreciated
    Cheers

    Hi,
According to your description, I notice that Outlook for Mac for Office 365 cannot open shared calendar.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Which account are you used, Exchange account or Microsoft account?
Would you please login OWA and test to open this shared calendar?
Outlook for Mac cannot open the shared calendar which is a sub-calendar, you have to ask calendar owner share all calendars under the default "Calendar" folder.

  • Outlook for Mac - security

I just installed Microsoft Office 2011 on a new MacBook Air (OSX 10.8.4).  It’s the Office 365 version so it includes Outlook, in addition to Word, Excel andPowerPoint.
I suppose that Outlook is more (?) connected to my network than Word, Excel and PowerPoint...
Does use of Outlook (I have not yet added an email account to the app) create a security vulnerability significantly over and above that associated with Word, Excel andPowerPoint?
I have installed Sophos' free antivirus software on the machine and the firewall is on, but I'd welcome thoughts on whether I should avoid use of Outlook altogether (i.e. rely on Apple's Mail) or if there is limited extra risk from a system security perspective or, whether there are risk-mitigation options.

  • Calendar events issue Outlook for Mac: Failure to update or send notification for meetigns

We are seeing an issues with Outlook for Mac 2011 and calendar events. These events are in the past and Outlook will randomly post errors about the event stating that it has failed to make changes, please contact the original creator.
Additionally, some users are reporting that Outlook will not successfully send meeting cancellation notices to Windows users. All of the server and directory settings are setup correctly. Is there an issue with Outlook for Mac successfully sending
back to the Exchange server here? We're running Exchange server 2007 SP1 and in the midst of upgrading to 2013. Hopefully this and a host of other issues are resolved with 2013.

  • Outlook for Mac 2011

I just migrated one macbook Pro to another both using OS X 10.8.5.   When I try to open Outlook I get an error message that says "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Outlook".
It worked and still works fine in the original machine and Word & Excel work fine in the new machine, but not outlook.   I tried removing Outlook for Mac 2011 and reinstalling but I get the same error message.
    Any ideas out there?

Or better yet, start using mac mail. I went back and forth between the two for year, and without getting into specifics or details I went back to mac mail and never looked back. Simple and does everything it supposed. Mac version outlook got stripped of a lot of functionalities that the pc version includes. With rare fixes, updates, and frequent problems between lost mail, corrupt identity files and mail which hangs up during the sent process just shows you that they half as*ed the mac version of outlook. Save your frustration and switch.

  • How do I change the Attribution font size for Outlook for Mac

    Outlook For Mac assistance.
I have gone into the settings menu and properly set up my font and style for correspondence (Preferences-Fonts), the issue I have is that when I reply or forward a message, the Attribution (To, From, Subject,
Date) etc... from the sender defaults to a much larger 24 size/ Verdana.  I can manually highlight and then change this to match my settings of a 16 - Calibri but this is a hassle.  I have tried to alter this via the Preferences for E-mail (Composing)
and  while option three gives a Name, Date, Address option (sans the Subject) Attribution, the second desired standard option does not include font or style changes.  This is of course the HTML option which is preferable to me.
How can I set the default of option two to match my other font and/or style preferences?

  • New Message, reply, or forward window does not open in Outlook for Mac 2011

New Message, reply, or forward window does not open in Outlook for Mac 2011
Outlook acts as if I am pressing a dummy button.

    Hi friends,
    I have the same problem.
    Mountain Lion + Office 2011 + Safari 6.1.2 (8537.74.9)
It is not clear to me what is the relation between Safari and this problem.
I have Chrome installed as well and it is set as default browser. Is this involved?
If yes how can I solve the problem?
    Please let me know.
    Many thanks.

  • Mavericks causing errors in Outlook for Mac

Since installing Mavericks, Outlook for Mac 2011 is having problems with pop mailboxes on three different servers.  Connection errors are being reported avey ten minutes regarding server timeouts, connection has been dropped, server not found.  Prior to install there were only sporadic messages like this, mainly with IMAP connections.  This time, IMAP connections are not causing the errors, but all my different POP servers.  Is anyone else having these problems?

Seach is based on Spotlight index. Mavericks should have re-indexed your entire drive after installing. If it's still running you might want to see if search starts working in Outlook. Otherwise you need to reindex your entire drive. This can take overnight.
You can tell if it's still in progress by simply looking at the Spotlight menu: There's a blinking dot in the middle of the magnifying glass while indexing is occurring. You can also open Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities and type in md in the search filter. You should see mdworker32 and mdworker. The mdworker32 is the Outlook Spotlight index and mdworker is for system.
Until this process is finished, Spotlight won’t know the contents of your disks and neither will Outlook. All lists like contacts, events, notes etc. are generated by the Spotlight searches.
Rebuilding should never be done to fix issues like this. Rebuilding can result in data loss.
HOW TO RE-INDEX YOUR SPOTLIGHT CACHE FILES
    Option 1)
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
    *  Click Spotlight.
    *  Make sure Messages & Chats is checked under the Search Results tab.
    *  Click the Privacy tab.
    *  Drag your drive and/or Identity to the list. Wait a couple of minutes.
    *  Remove the item you added.
    *  Spotlight will re-index the contents of the item you initially dragged to the list.
    Option 2)
In Lion/Mountain Lion, there is an additional Repair Permissions application utility hidden away. This tool is located inside boot Repair Utilities. Here's how to access it.
1 Restart and hold down the Command and R keys.
2 You will boot into the Repair Utilities screen. On top, in the Menu Bar click the Utilities item then select Terminal.
3 In the Terminal window, type resetpassword and hit Return.
4 The Password reset utility launches, but you¹re not going to reset the password. Instead, click on the icon for your Mac's hard drive at the top. From the drop-down below it, select the user account where you are having issues.
5 At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled 'Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs'. Click the Reset button there.
The reset process takes a couple of minutes. When it¹s done, quit the programs you've opened and restart your Mac. Notice that 'Spotlight' starts re-indexing immediately.
Note: you might want to use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions and Repair Disk while booted from the Repair Drive.

  • Outlook for Mac - do not automatically add meetings to calendar

In Outlook (both for Windows and for Mac), the default behavior is to automatically respond with tentative to meetings requests, which results in meetings automatically added to the calendar.
I receive a lot of meeting requests, and only need to attend a few of them (which I manually accept), so I'm not interested in all those meetings requests cluttering my calendar.
Is it possible in Outlook for Mac to prevent meetings automatically being added to the calendar? I found I thread on how to do it in Outlook for Windows:http://www.msoutlook.info/question/747,
but wasn't able to configure it in the Mac version.
I'm using Outlook for Mac 2011, Version 14.3.2.
    Thanks, Ido

This actually isn't client-side (that is, Outlook) setting. This is a server setting on Exchange. Depending on how your Exchange server is configured, this might or might not be a setting that you are allowed to change.
If you are allowed to change it, you can do so via Outlook Web App. The instructions that I'm giving here are for Exchange 2013.
    Open OWA.
Click the "Settings" gear (upper right corner), then select "Options".
In the left navigation pane, select "Settings", and then select "calendar" in the main pane.
Scroll down until you see "automatic processing". If you can change this setting, you'll see a tick box titled "Automatically place new meeting requests on my calendar, marked Tentative". Untick that box.
Click save, and then exit the settings.
Earlier versions of Exchange also allow this, although the path to it is slightly different depending on which version of Exchange you're in. They should all be in the calendar settings, you might have to poke around to find the exact location in your version
    of Exchange.

  • Outlook for mac contacts

I purchased outlook for Mac and can't figure out how to transfert my contacts.

If you're trying to sync your contacts with iCloud, you won't be able to using Outlook for Mac.  Outlook cannot sync contacts or calendars with iCloud because Microsoft chose not to include the CardDAV and CalDAV protocols necessary to do so (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2648915).  If you want to sync these with iCloud you'll have to use the OS X calendar and contacts applications.

  • MS Outlook For Mac

Does anyone know why I can access my work emails on my iPhone but when it comes to setting up the account in my MS Outlook for Mac, I can't?
I have tried quite a few permitations but I just don't manage to pull it off. Just for the record, the email account type is exchange.
    Thanks for your help, Mike

The following would explain what I suspect is the most likely cause.
When you configure an iPhone (or iPad) to connect to your MS Exchange account it will use a protocol called EAS (Exchange Active Sync), I would expect all companies to have enabled access to this protocol. However when you configure Outlook for Mac to connect to the same Exchange server it cannot use EAS as Outlook for Mac does not support this and instead uses EWS (Exchange Web Services). This is a totally different protocol and very little software uses it other than Outlook for Mac the only other notable example of an application that uses it is Apple Mail. Outlook for Windows generally uses MAPI which Outlook for Mac does not support.
As a result many enterprise users of Exchange might start off with not having EWS enabled on their server or blocked by their network firewall.
Therefore it looks like you need to speak to the IT department and get them to check this and if necessary enable EWS access.
