Configure SPA 525G with 2911 ISR Routers

Hey hi.
I have 10 SPA525G phones with me for which I have bought a CISCO 2911 ISR, But after configuring it up, the router says it does not support old model phones such as the 525G.
Any idea on how to install. Please help
I see discussion where people have already installed similar modules. And hence the question. Called up cisco, but they were helpless and asked me to buy new phones.

I have it working now. Thank you very much to both Dragan and Cyril for your help and guidance. It turned out the problem was a communication error between the ISP and me. We have two connections supplied by the same ISP, one for internet, one for telephony. When talking to their support we were mistakenly talking about different connections — the PPPoE credentials I was given related to the telephony connection, whereas I was trying to configure the internet connection. Once the confusion was identified I was given the correct connection info (which is not PPPoE after all), and I've got basic connectivity up and running quite quickly after that...
My sincere apologies for the wild goose chase on these forums — and again, many thanks for those who tried to help. I have learned lots from you regardless.
Cheers,
Kevin

  • Configuring SPA 3102 with Ooma Telo Problems

Does anyone have any experience with configuring the SPA 3102 with the Ooma Telo devise. I have been around and around on this with no luck. I have been able to get into my 3102 ip address fine, but I need a proxy server to configure the 3102 with my existing Ooma device. Ooma doesn't seem to have one to dish out. Ooma is also saying that they don't have a portal for configuring external devices to the Ooma.
Has anyone ever tried to connect the two? I'm just trying to cut my losses here and move on if this is futile.
    Thanks anyone!

  • Cisco 2911 ISR Firewall

    Hi everyone,
I would like to inquire on how to deploy Cisco 2911 ISR routers to act as Firewall to protect segments of my network. We have more than 10 units of the said router on our branch and i would like to ask on how i can make it a Firewall, it is running on IOS with sec/k9 license.
Hope that anyone can help me with my problem.
Thank you very much in advance

    Hi Julio,
A good day its me again. My apologies to bother you again. May i ask for your advice regarding the set-up of my IOS Zone-Based Firewall via 2911 routers.
I have 2 2911 beanch routers with bgp peering on a WAN links to reach the branch. On the LAN interface of the said Branch Routers are the LAN segments configured via subinterface command and running HSRP with the other branch router.
How would i implement Zone-Based Firewall with HA without having drops because of asymetric routing. Im sorry since the configuration guide that you have sent me as so many options and configurations that i tend to be confusing on which one is another option and which one is prt of the previous procedure. I hope you could help me with this one as i need to implement it within this week.
Thanks you very much and I'm sorry for bothering you.
    Thank you very much!

  • SPA 525G Dictionary Server Script

    Hello,
I'm trying to make the phone, a SPA 525G (With firmware 7.4.9a), to display in the dutch language. Despite the Cisco community, Cisco adm manual, and Google it's still not working.
I'm using provisioning by the use of APACHE, PHP and MYSQL to generate a XML file. This works great, but the parameter of the Dictionary Server Script does something but nothing really changes.
    I use the fallowing XML:
    <!--# Language-->
    <Dictionary_Server_Script group="Regional/Language">srv=http://<SERVER_DNS>/Cisco/LANG/749/;d1=Dutch;x1=spa525_nl_v749.xml;d2=Duits;x2=spa525_de_v749.xml;</Dictionary_Server_Script>
    <Language_Selection group="Regional/Language">Dutch</Language_Selection>
Now the phone gives me the option to switch to Duits, Dutch of English, but nothing changes.
On the web server the language XML file aint requested by any phone, not even after a language change.
Can someone help me with this issue?
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
I have in Spanish and works great.
    serv=http://SERVER_IP/diccionarios/;d0=English;x0=spa50x_30x_en_v749.xml;d1=Spanish;x1=spa50x_30x_es_v749.xml
I know you have to have the english first as d0. And you have written srv instead of serv.
Hope it helps. (and what is Duits?)

  • SPA 525G[2]: monitor mjpeg video RTSP , remove PATH constraint

Having read the forum's guide on the topic ,
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9806 , and related errata
it's clear the phone can render MJPEG via RTSP.  The defect is the expectation of a needlessly specific URI PATH
    rtsp://10.20.30.40/img/jpgvideo.sav
The SPA 525G and 525G2 could easily display ANY RTSP stream of MJPEG; it certainly has the power.   If one constrained the video stream (or transcoded non-matching stream on the fly) to:
    320x240
    5 fps
    Constant Bit Rate
    (with low bitrate)
    ref:
phone would play it PROVIDED one match the INANE URI PATH
    SPA video monitoring bugs
Cannot use video monitoring with BlueTooth enabled
setting line to disabled is not enough  (admin advanced, voice, phone, bluetooth)
    SPA video monitoring defects
cannot assign video monitor to soft touch button?
INANE URI PATH filter precludes direct use of compliant video via RTSP from other IP cameras
It IS possible to use other mjpeg stream via RTSP so long as one presents inane expected PATH
Please remove the PATH filter from the phone's firmware in the next update.
SPA525G2 video monitor DOES work with TrendNet TV-IP312  [ethernet IP Camera]
    video encoding: mjpeg
    video quality: normal
    frame rate: 5
..with some creative use of nginx or apache
I don't use wifi because I prefer quality communication with minimal or zero jitter.  Home ISPs offer [inflict] wifi as a  way to oversell (depriving you of the bandwidth you purchase)
    Question_1
When will Cisco allow PATH variations?  I understand Cisco wanting to sell integration between products.  Cisco need NOT support third party RTSP video sources.  But Cisco OUGHT NOT prevent customer providing own additional value for one's own Cisco product.
[ Consider customer use of free Open Source PBX with Cisco SIP phones:  not supported but NOT disallowed   http://freepbx.org  https://freeswitch.org http://sipsorcery.com ]
    Question_2
When will Cisco SPA video monitoring support MPEG4?  Yes, I understand there are more parameters to configure for MPEG4 vs MJPEG
    Question_3
When will Cisco SPA switch be upgraded from old timey  100BASE-TX  to  gigabit ethernet?
An appropriate reply SHALL NOT quote the above guide or section of documentation as it would insult the customer or demonstrate gross ineptitude on behalf of Cisco.

There is no reason I should have to delete my preferences every single time I want to use the program.
Sure enough, but your description of the behavior and the whole shebang crashing with ntdll indicates a file I/O or permissions problem nonetheless. So check your folder permissions, user privileges and possibly any security tools. Same for 32bit services and drivers that simply may not be compatible. A quick look in the device manager can tell you that...

  • Implementing WAAS using 3925 and 2911 Cisco routers

    Dear all,
I am new to Cisco WAAS and therefore I would like to request some help regarding the following scenario:
I have a star network (1 hub and 5 spoke) topology where each satellite site is connected via a 2 MB  (symmetric)  to the Head-Quarters (Central node). In order to be able to concentrate all servers (services) at the head-quarters and improve the users experience in remote sites when accessing network services that are located at the head-quarters we want to implement Cisco WAAS instead of increasing the existing bandwidth.
At the head-quarters we are using a 3925 Cisco router and at the remote locations we are using 2911 Cisco routers. Last but not least there will be approximately 75 concurrent users from remote sites accessing resources at the head-quarters.
Currently I am planning to use the following:
·At the head-quarters I am planning to use a Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) Module: SM-SRE-900-K9 with an Enterprise license (for large deployment) in the Cisco router 3925
·At the remote sites I am planning to use a Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) Module: SM-SRE-700-K9 with an Enterprise license (for medium deployment) in the Cisco router 2911
Is there anything else that I am missing or need to take into consideration for deploying the WAAS.
    Regards,
    Screech

    Hi Screech,
    Answers:
Is the  dedicated WAE hw for central management purpose a required component?not required as WAEs can optimize even without Cntral managementbut you will not be able to collect statistics, reports and will have to manage WAEs from CLI. This a kind of highly recommended management piece you will need.
What is the difference between using a full blown WAE instead of a  Sm  SRE module: Using a fully blown WAE at DC is recommended as you are then avoiding couple of bottlenecks.
    1. Bandwidth allcoation
    2. SM / NM models have low capacity, disks where as fully blown models like 674s have 10k/15k SATA / SAS drives.
    3. HW redundancy: you have backup PS / HD in dedicated WAEs in msot of the models.
    4. HW dependency: Your SM moduels depened upon your router / switch. If for some reason, switch or router goes down, SM moule goes down at same time.
    5. Additional NICs / HW availability.
There are various other reasons you might want to consider. You can ask your cisco sales engineer or one of the PDI help engineer on the forum can also punch in here.
but basicaly, I would go for fully blown WAE on DC side and central management piece as well.
    Regards.

  • 2911 ISR G2 as a core switch in campus network?

    Hello experts,
Just wonder about having a Cisco 2911 ISR G2 router with Cisco SM-X Layer 2/3 EtherSwitch Service Module (16 port) can be used as a core switch in a campus network. Possible? Our goal is to find a way to simplify our company's network infrastructure by re-using/re-assigning/upgrade some of our existing Cisco network devices in order to reduce cost.
    Kindly advice.
    Regards,
    Alex

1Gbps backbone between the switch and router? Where can I find the information?
    Go HERE.
The interface communication between router-to-module may be 1 Gbps but you won't be able to push 1 Gbps.

  • Using Cisco Connect with 2 different Routers

I have the linkys n300 E1200 at my office and the Linksys E1000 at my home.  How do i configure Cisco Connect to work with both of these routers so i don't have any connectivity issues?

You can only have one Cisco Connect software installed on your computer. What are your challenges with the Linksys routers? Are you experiencing slow connection? Or intermittent connection? Does it occur on both routers? Since the two routers are on two different locations, we need to properly isolate this matter to know what is really causing it.
Updating the router's firmware will help in resolving connectivity difficulties. If the wireless connection drops, you can also try adjusting the wireless channels of the router. I am using channel 9 for my EA4500 router. Make sure as well that the router is being placed on a higher location or less interference area.

  • Using Cisco Connect with several E1000 routeres

I have two E1000 routeres, one at home and one at the office, and I have installed the Cisco Connect (CC) software on my laptop, and used it to congifure both devices with.
The first time I tried to connect CC to the router at the office, it removed the settings from my home router, and accessed the E1000 ok and I could configure it without any problems via CC.
But when I now tries to use CC to configure my home router via CC, it keeps complaining about me not beeing connected to the right router, and CC won't allow me to connect to my home router eventhough I type in the correct password etc.
Does anybody know of a trick to use the same CC for configuring multiple E1000's ? Or how to get CC to "forget" its settings and connect to a new E1000 router?
    Thanks.

So the concern that you said is the configuration of the Router ( E1000 ) at home.. So could please inform us the name of the ISP( Internet Service Provider )... So it all depends upon the ISP( Internet Service Provider ) setup...
If you want to configure the router with the help of the CD so for that you need to uninstall the existing Cisco Connect Software from the computer...
Reset the Router and power cycle the network...
Make the following connectivity Modem ----> Router -----> Computer... Then install the Cisco Connect Software... It will help you in configuring the Router...

  • SPA-2102 with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (callmanager)...

Has anyone used SPA-2102 with a UCMgr or CallManager?
If you do.... how many DLUs (device license units) do you need for each SPA-2102?

I have tried to get the SPA2102 to register to CUCM with no luck.  However, there was another way to get them to talk.
Setup a Cisco router with SP Services IOS as a SIP Gateway.  Build a "voice" dial-peer for incoming calls, build another for outgoing calls to the SPA2102, and another to the CUCM.
Configure the SPA2102 to NOT register with SIP Proxy and to point to the Cisco router instead.
    This costs NO DLU's.
Depending on how your dial-peer's are configured you can have both lines appear as the same number.or different numbers.

  • Manage Cisco ISR routers as one device

I'm looking for a tool that allows me to manage two Cisco ISR routers (2911) as one device ("cluster" device or "virtual" device).
Both routers are connected directly to the internet and are using HSRP to perform a function of the virtual default gateway for LAN devices.
What about Cisco ASA in Active/Active or Active/Passive Failover mode?
    Thanks,
    Jernej

No, this is not currently possible.  The devices need to be managed using their individual IP addresses (i.e. not the virtual IP of HSRP).  You'll generally want to do that for the time being since both devices will have their own CPU, memory, buffer, etc. characteristics.

  • Doesn't play songs, "itunes is not configured for use with mac-formatted"??

Hi, new ipod shuffle. Seems to charge fine, all indicator lights function as expected. Everything looks fine in itunes. But it doesn't play songs. I have the most recent versions of itunes and the ipod software. Re-set, updated, and restored, nothing works. Even restored using the restore utility. Re-started computer. Checked for volume control. Won't play songs. Tried different file types. Songs play fine from itunes library and from the device's library within itunes. Tried different headphones. Hooked it up to computer speakers. Turning volume all the way up on device and speakers, heard some very faint rhythmic static, so my guess is the jack socket (or whatever you call it) is just messed up, but it seems weird that it can transfer power and data to the device but doesn't work for sound...
The only other issues that have come up is that the drive disappears in explorer once it syncs with itunes. Other people who've noticed this seem to have completely different problems so I don't think it's related.
Also, I have MacDrive on my computer. And when it starts up with the ipod plugged in, MacDrive offers the message "Itunes is not configured for use with Mac-formatted ipods." It offers to automatically reconfigure itunes so it can read mac-formatted ipods. Since I've restored the device, I don't see why formatting should be an issue so I say "no."
Should I try letting macdrive do its format thing? Should I try formatting the ipod disk on the My Computer menu? Or should I just email apple and tell them the jack's busted?
    Thanks for any thoughts!

Well, I have had my iPod for about 3 years, it is a 4th generation non-video 40 GB. One day it just stopped working, and now it does not play any songs. when I turn it on it makes this odd whirring sounds that computers make when they try really hard to do something. I cannot charge it, and it is not recognized by iTunes. Also when I turn it on, I get the apple.com/ipod/support (or whatever it is) screen. Needless to say, my warranty is expired, and so I cannot do anything for it except get a new battery, or buy a new one. Is there any way to fix this problem, or anyone out there who is experiencing the same thing?
I'm having the exact same problem with my wife's iPod. However it will play about 3 seconds of a song and go onto the next song.
If there is anyone out there that can help please do!

    Long shot, but...
Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there.

I have a Satelllite L870-15W, and no way to turn the system on.
All it says is "Toshiba" (the welcome screen) and then (after having pressed f8 or f9):

It probably means the BCD is missing or corrupt.
To repair this, you need to access the recovery environment. Microsoft says Windows 8 will eventually take you there if it fails to boot many times. You can also get there using a System Repair Disc or a Windows 8 installation DVD like this downloadable one. You need the 64-bit disc.
It's possble this will also work on your Toshiba machine. Restart the computer by pressing the power button and immediately start tapping the F12 key until the Boot Menu appears. Using the arrow keys, select <HDD Recovery>.
WinRE looks like this. Select Troubleshoot and then Advanced options.
Lots of things to try. See KB2622803 for boot sector problems. The article assumes Windows Vista/7. The same fixes look different in Windows 8, but are all available.
If Automatic Repair (Startup Repair in 8.1) and System Restore fail, use the bootrec tool at the command prompt. This applies to Windows 8 also.

Don't give up until you have tried replacing the BCD itself as follows. (Sometimes the partition is not named "c" and you need to try another letter.)
