    Hi all,

    There is a storage server which is added on both the host under as ISCSI array option :-

    Please help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Pranay,
    >>There is a storage server which is added on both the host under as ISCSI array option :-
    Do you mean the two hosts are connecting same ISCSI target of the storage server ?
    Based on my understanding , shared storage is used for cluster .
    Could you please tell us where the VMs is stored ?

  • Configuring DNS between two non-trusted forest??

    We currently have a 2003 domain/forset setup and now have a new 2008 domain/forest setup running server core 2008 for the DCs.  What is the most secure way to setup DNS between the two forest without a trust so we can communicate for remote management
    of the server core DCs?  We have configured remote management for the server core DCs via the server core console, but there seems to be some type of DNS issue still out there.  We do not want to create a trust between the two forest because the
    2008 forest will be our DMZ.

    Hi Tony,
    I only forced the .local to display in the initial config one time, amongst several other fresh installs in which I just left it alone.
    I did a fresh install, followed standard protocol for the initial config, and configured DNS.
    In both cases (before and after I configured DNS) the keys you asked about in the preferences.plist are:
    <dict>
    <key>Network</key>
    <dict>
    <key>HostNames</key>
    <dict>
    <key>LocalHostName</key>
    <string>server</string>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    <key>System</key>
    <dict>
    <key>ComputerName</key>
    <string>server</string>
    <key>ComputerNameEncoding</key>
    <integer>0</integer>
    <key>HostName</key>
    <string>server.nineridge.com</string>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    ...yet again when I go to promote the OD to a master, the Kerberos Realm autofills SERVER.LOCAL.
    In case this is helpful, here is the output of the various checks:
    server:~ sadmin$ host server.nineridge.com
    server.nineridge.com has address 192.168.9.254
    server:~ sadmin$ host 192.168.9.254
    254.9.168.192.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer server.nineridge.com.
    server:~ sadmin$ nslookup server.nineridge.com
    Server: 192.168.9.254
    Address: 192.168.9.254#53
    Name: server.nineridge.com
    Address: 192.168.9.254
    server:~ sadmin$ sudo changeip -checkhostname
    Password:
    Primary address = 192.168.9.254
    Current HostName = server.nineridge.com
    DNS HostName = server.nineridge.com
    The names match. There is nothing to change.

  • Streaming between two host possible

    Hy!
    I want to prgram an application with takes commands from a different host and send back the result to the host wich had sent the command.
    The result can be between 1kb and 5MB. So I don't know how to design the Interfaces on the hosts on both sides.
    I've tried a little bit with RMI, but I only Server on the one side, and one Client on the other side. But I think for this case it will be better to implement on both sides Client/Server, so that I can send the result e.g. every 5 kb.
    What do you think, is the best way to program.
    Using RMI or ordinary Client/Server over Socket, or an other method that is me at time unknown.
    Good Links, Example Source and answers are very welcome,
    Thanks in advanced,
    Eric

    If the result is 5Mb, and you send it 5Kb at a time, is there anything you can do with the 5Kb before all the data has arrived?

  • Configuring mail between two Apples?L

    I have two apple computers, a desktop and a MacBook Air for travelling. I want to configure mail so that both have full functionality but to have the desktop as the "master". Therefore, any messages sent from the Air should appear in the Desktop "sent" box, and anything deleted from the Air should not be deleted from the desktop. Any ideas?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    No can do...
    You can not check the remove a copy from the sever after recieving message on MBA Accounts: Advanced tab, so that all messages are downloaded to the Desktop (check that box on the Desktop) for incoming messages, but, there's no way to get the out messages from the MBA (or a phone or any other device) over to the Desktop sent or out box.
    Webmail (browser based) would allow you one place to keep/see all your messages - but generally I find Webmail much slower and more cumbersome to use than a traditioinal e-mail client.

  • Connections between two host using Pro*C/C++ precompiler

    Hello everybody
    I'm trying to connect to an Oracle database using an program written in C that it's running in another host where the database is.
    I put the following command:
    EXEC SQL CONNECT :login IDENTIFIED BY :password AT :host;
    I don't know if this is correct, host is the name of the machine where the database is.
    Does anyone know how to do this kind of connections?
    Thank you

    It seems that I found the way to avoid this error. Now each time before I read RAW(2000) data from database, i initialize the VARRAW.len first, set its value to SIZE_DATA_SEG, i.e., the outside buffer size, then the error disappear.
    Oracle seems to need this information to handle its data mapping, but why output variable also needs this initialization, cannot precompiler get this from the definition of VARRAW structure?
    Anyone have some suggestion?

  • VMotion with only two hosts make any sense?

    Glad to help :)
    VMotion is awesome as an extra freebie, but on its own, just not worth much.
    But it is a good reason to look at alternative platforms as VMotion, HA and tons of other features are free with all packages of VMware's competitors.  VMware's value proposition that used to be very good has mostly evaporated these days.

    rodmanfrowert wrote:
     I can replicate and migrate VMs with Veeam between two hosts as it is. What would VMotion bring to the table that Veeam can't do now? Can VServer/VMotion "premigrate/replicate" itself to the secondary host but remained turned off and only activate in the event that the host where the primary VCenter Server were to fail? Or am I speaking nonsense?
    VMotion is seamless, Veeam doesn't compete.  VMotion does not require the machine to be off during the move.  It's invisible to the end users (when it works - I've seen companies have outages from thinking VMotion was safe to use when they didn't have a green zone to bring the systems down.  It encourages hubris.)
    VMotion is not for protection, it is for maintenance.  HA is for failure modes.

  • Is there a way to have two hosts, not clustered, share an ssh identity?

    Hi,
    I'm using Data Guard to replicate Oracle Databases between two Solaris 10 servers.  They aren't clustered at the OS level but if we invoke DR the standby server is promoted to production and vice versa.
    Along with the databases, I also have application processes which ssh to the server.
    In the past I've worked on VCS environments where we've configured the two nodes to share the same ssh fingerprint so that when the clusters failed over, ssh users would not be prompted about a changed identity when connecting... but in those environments VCS meant a shared IP and clustered hostname floated between the two.
    Is there a way to do something similar with my non-clustered, related servers now so that a DNS alias can be used to direct ssh connections to whichever server Oracle is active on without the users being prompted (or even aware)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Joe
    PS - not asking for anybody to do my work here; just an idea if it's possible and a pointer in the right direction so I can go figure this out.

    Okay, I got an answer to this:
    1 - copy the contents of /etc/ssh from the primary server to secondary and restart ssh
    2 - use a DNS alias to switch between the two.  The first time with the new alias I'll need to add the host to the known_hosts file but after that the hostnames and identities will be the same so I won't even after failover.
    Sorted.

  • Configuring SMTP Namespace Sharing between two Exchange Forests on the same LAN

    Hi guys, really hoping that someone can help me with configuring SMTP Namespace Sharing between two Exchange Forests on the same LAN.
    Basically, I have created a new forest and installed a new exchange organisation in this forest.  Both forests are located on the same IP subnet and a two way trust has been created between the forests.  Federated sharing has also been configured.
    I can use ADMT to migrate the user and computer accounts to the new forest and also migrate test mailboxes over.  Ideally, I want to be able to do the mailbox migrations in stages so will need to be able to have mail flowing between the two forests.
    I have read over the following article (http://ibrahimnore.wordpress.com/2012/09/06/configuring-smtp-namespace-sharing-between-two-exchange-forests-part-2/)
    which is good but it's demonstrating over the internet, can anybody advise how this can be achieved on the local LAN?
    Any help greatly appreciated :-)

    Hi Gilliano,
    Thanks for correct link. I must say this is a very good article indeed, I read the entire article and if you go to the 3rd part of this article, please note the text "DOMAINC.COM is configured as Internal Relay Accepted Domain on both the domains"
    This is exactly what I asked you to check. Personally, I understand the method described in this article will work but its very complex to manage and administer, while the easiest option is to configure internal relay at the first place and no need to make
    so many DNS changes and customizations to your environment.
    The solution really depends on what your requirement is - Since you mentioned that you are migrating stuff over from source to destination - I feel this article is too complex for your situation and not really worth (for your requirement). The setup described
    in the article is an excellent choice if you are planning to keep both forests alive for longer duration due to several reasons like compliance or company mergers and so on...
    please let me know if my explanation is not clear enough.. we can even even have a one-on-one email conversation too!
    All the best!
    Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. Regards, Siva

  • Can a SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) be Implemented Between Two Hyper-V Hosted Virtual Machines?

    I haven't had the opportunity to implement a SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) for over 10 years and that was done with two physical, identical database servers way back in the day of Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000 (old school).
    Can a SQL Server 2008 R2 Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) be implemented between two Hyper-V hosted virtual machines? The environment in question already has Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V hosts in place, so I'm just looking to see if this is even
    possible and/or supported when utilizing virtual machines.
    The client in question is currently using SQL Server 2008 R2 instances running on Win2008R2, Win2012, and Win2012R2, but I'd also be interested how this can be done or not with SQL Server 2012 or 2014 as well. Thanks in advance.
    Bill Thacker

    Yes, it can be done with Hyper-V guests. In fact, with Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V, guests can use the Shared VHDX feature for shared storage used by Windows clusters. The guests can run Windows Server 2008 and higher provided that the Hyper-V Integration
    Services are installed to support Shared VHDX. The only challenge here is making the Hyper-V hosts highly available as well, running it on WSFC.

  • How Can we force the Hyper-V Replica to use a dedicated network between two hyper-v hosts?

    Dear Team,
    How can we force Hyper-V Replica to use a dedicated network between two hyper-v hosts?
    For live migration, we can choose the desired network in Hyper-V Manager (Use these IP addresses for Live Migration).
    I have two 10G adapters teamed together, the virtual switch is created on top as converged network with several vNICs (MangementOS, LiveMigratrion, Backup, etc...)
    Each network is set with a specific VLAN to isolate the traffic.
    The two Hyper-V hosts are on the same LAN and domain.
    Thank you.
    Regards,

    I have accomplished this by using a DNS pointer specifying an IP address on that dedicated network. That will force traffic done that network.

  • Migrating configurations between two servers

    I would like to know if it is possible to migrate the configuration between two server (TEST to PROD). We are now implementing a new company (which includes OPM, INV,FA, CE, AP, PO, OM, GL) and if all works, we'll want to migrate the configuration in order to not do everything again.
    We pass to much time configuring in TEST server and later reconfiguring in PROD server
    If you have an script generator or another tools, please tell us.
    Thanks & Regards,

    FNDLOAD: can be used for Migration to synchronize the data across databases instance (Dev/Prod).
    Using FNDLOAD can download data from an application entity into an editable text file, which can be uploaded to another database.The Conversion between database format and text file format is specified by a configuration file.
    What can be Done?
    ·It can be done following list
    · Concurrent Programs, Executables
    · Request Groups, Request Sets
    · Profile Options
    · Key and Descriptive Flexfields
    · Menus and Responsibilities
    · Forms and Form Functions
    · Attachments
    · Messages
    · Value Sets and Values
    · Lookup Types
    · User Responsibilities
    · Printer Definitions
    · FND Dictionary
    · Help Configuration
    · Document Sequences
    · Concurrent Manager Schedules
    To use FNDLOAD, the following syntax is needed.
    FNDLOAD apps/appspwd 0 Y mode configfile datafile entity [parameter1…..]
