Configure STMS & transports as a single system

Hello,
I configured STMS as a single DEV system, without QA and PRD. I have a requirement to import the transports into the DEV system, after copying cofiles and datafiles from another dev system.
Is it possible to move another system transports into DEV System, configuring it as a single system landscape. If it is possible, kindly provide the steps.
Thanks,
Mohi

Hi
What you meant by "transport do not move" ?
Check here for Configuring Single Systems - Software Logistics - SAP Library
Also as per Matt's  update, the same transport request also can be moved from command prompt  or shell (on any OS);
log into sidadm
from Command prompt,
1) add request into buffer (this step may not be required if added earlier - as per Matt's update)
tp addtobuffer <transport number> <SID>  pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/<transport profile, i.e. TP_DOMAIN_<SINGLE SYSTEM SID>.PFL
2) then use below tp command to import the specific requests;
tp import <transport number> <SID> CLIENT=<client number> pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/<transport profile, i.e. TP_DOMAIN_<SINGLE SYSTEM SID>.PFL

  • Transport request in single system landscape

    Hi,
In single system landscape we are having only two clients (dev & prd), we are using T-code scc1 to transport a request from dev client to prd client.for this every time we are changing the production client settings.could anyone suggest me how to transport a request with out using scc1.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Reddy v

    Hi,
you have only one system and two clients? Then you simply cannot use CMS functionality. Maybe it is possible to create transport target group and set up a client dependent transport control, but I've never tried it on one system landscape. If I where you I'd use virtualization and install two SAP systems on virtual machines, then use standard 2 system landscape. It's much safer for your repository!!!

  • Creating cofiles for single system configuration

    Hi All,
we have sandbox system where it's congifured like single system  in STMS.
when we try to release the requests it's showing local object  request number relesed but i am unable to find the cofiles and data files at os end.
Since our system in configured as single system with out target system cofiles will not be created, but i have tried with virtual system and create the transport route  but still unable to find the cofiles.
Is there any way to make cofiles available at OS end   for single system configuration which having one physical system and one virtual system ....
    Please suggest..

and i started some activities also
presently my doubt is in STMS configuration
here i have only one system (DOMINE CONTROLLER) and we need to other systems while configuration but we dont have other systems like quality and production how can i configure that systems in my landscape
this is my first implementation Experience please suggest me with some valuable suggestions
    my doubts:
while creating systems we need to take for virtual systems or Extended systems
which transport routes can i prefer for Dev to Qly systemand also Qly to Prd
    please reply me
    Regards

    Hi,
If you have decided the SID's of the QUA and PRD systems then you can configure TMS with the virtual systems. Here are the steps to do so.
    Login to the domain controller
    Execute tcode STMS
Goto the menu overvie --> systems (Shift+F6)
SAP SYStems --> Create --> Virtual system
Enter the SID and description and then save ur entries.
Now the new virtual system will be created. Do the above for the others systems in the landscape.
Again execute STMS and then click SHIFT+F7. You will goto the transport route window. Now you can configure TMS for the systems in the list as usual.
    Hope this helps.

  • Mass transport strategy but satellite system is configured for ChaRM

We want that all transports are automatically transported in the development test client.
We have calling a job with program TMS_BCI_START_SERVICE in the satellite system. But this program can only be used for mass transports and does not work when single transports strategy is activated.
    Question:
Is there no solution to transport all this transports automatically in development test client via mass transport strategy if satellite system is configured for ChaRM scenario?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Best configuration for Transport System

    Hi everyone
I like to know what is the best way to configure my transport system.
We have 2 server QAS and PRD in two distinct machines. SERVERQAS and SERVERPRD, accessible from network.
We need what when all transport request from QAS when released, all files must be copied to PRD server, today we need to use the button to adjust queue, but we can't use this option, we need what this process is automatic.
    Thks.

    Hello Emerson,
    You don't have Development system?
In a standard 3 system landscape, if dev, qua and prod systems are assigned with single domain controller and sharing same /usr/sap/trans then as soon as request is released from dev system, that will be available in qua buffer/import queue. Once it's successfully imported into qua system then it will be available in prod buffer/import queue for import. This is controlled by transport route.
Please read TMS configuration guide and take necessary actions.

  • Transporting a request in single system landscape

    Hi,
I our single system landscape, we are using the scc1 t-code to transport a request from dev client to prd client, then it showing a message like target client is productive and protected against client copy for this reason every time we are changing the production client settings. please give me suggestions how to transport a request in single system landscape  with out using scc1 t-code.
    Regards,
    Reddy

    Olivier,
Are you sure SCC1 is just for client copy? I dont think so.
Client Copy transaction is SCCL for a local copy and SCC9 for remote client copy.
SCC1 allows to transport local requests within different clients, of course depending of what the transport request contains you can copy something simple or a lot of data (yes, I know, the title says something, but see the functionality).
I'm agree is not a good practice to have DEV and PRD in one server, but maybe he is using it for testing purposes? I saw different cases in the past and sometimes they had DEV and QA in one server, maybe this is the case.
Anyways, lets help him on his question.
Reddy, if you have any question, just post it.
    Good luck,

    Hi,
You will have to configure transport targets like for different business systems in your dev environment, there shouls be corresponding Business systems in QUA environment. For more details refer the link

  • Need Transport route for two systems(Urgent)

    Hi All,
I have configured everthing like configuring domain controller and added to to domain controller.
Now i need to do below steps
I have Development (client) and Quality(client) in same system and Production as separate server.
I want to configure transport route from Development client to Quality client and from Quality client to Production Server.
Development Server SID is DEV ( Dev Client 100 and Quality Client 140) and Production Server SID is PRD
Transport route must be configured like below:
DEV( Dev client 100) -> DEV (QAS client 140) -> PRD
    We are struck with this
    Best Regards,
    Pratyusha

    Hi Pratyusha,
As far as configuring Development and Quality systems concern, in one system is not suggested. I think you are aware of this.
However, I need some more information on your question like the operating systems which you are using in DEV/QAS and in PRD.
First, configure the Domain Controller in either DEV/QAS or PRD.
Irrespective of the OS, you need to maintain IP address along with the host name and fully qualified domain in the etc/hosts file.
for example DEV/QAS system ip address is 172.16.23.14 and host name is abc007, then you need to make an entry in etc/hosts file at the OS level as follows.
    172.16.23.14 abc007 abc007.yourcompany.com
where in abc007.yourcompany.com is the fully qualified domain name.
Once you done this in both, DEV/QAS and PRD, systems, then configure 3 system landscape from STMS tcode in the other system which is not a Domain controller.
I hope this is helpful. Getin touch if you have any more questions or doubts.
    Regards,
    Satish.

  • Configuration STMS on solaris

    hi all,
i m using oracle db 10.2.4 with ecc 6 on solaris 5.10 system , now want to configure STMS from our DEV to PRD system.
can anyone tell me that how to configure stms . Is it the same process like stms configuratin on Win OS
    rgds

    Hi,
To configure the Transport System SAP recommends to have Global Tranpsport Directory.
    1. First decside which system will be Transport Domain Controler: - Generally Development System.
    2. Share the /usr/sap/trans directory Transport Domain Controler using NFS.
    3. Now Login in 000 client as DDIC user & execute the t-code STMS.
    4. It will ask to configure the Transport Domain Controler click on Ok.
    5. Set the parameter DIR_TRANS on Transport Domain Client (Production/Quality System) to the path of NFS mounted directory.
    6. Login to 000 client as DDIC user on Transport Domain Client (Production/Quality System) & execute STMS.
    7. It will ask to include the system in Transport Domain, click on OK.
    8. Now login again on Transport Domain Controler in 000 client & Approve Request.
    9. In Transport Domain Controler click on Overview--> Transport Routes
    10. Click on Configuration> Standard Configuration-> Select Appropriate to your Landscape.
    11. Now configure your transport router DEV>QAS>PRD

  • STMS Transport Route Administration - Import Targets not modifiable.

Hello.  I'm trying to configure cCTS for use with CHARM.  I have created my system clusters and defined a consolidation and delivery route for the clusters.  Now when I double click on my clusters in edit mode and navigate to the Import Targets tab, I am not able to modify this tab.  I have been following the cCTS for CHARM and QGM Configuration guide.

    Thanks Jessica
I'm also working with OSS SAP Support now to try and resolve my issue.
In short I can some up the problem and testing completed so far.
    <b>To Start:</b>
The Server group removed old QA server from our SAP Landscape, therefore STMS Transport Route required rebuilding.
    <b>Systems:</b>
We have a very complex system setup with SAP R3, CRM and BW systems. Each system has it's own server (Dev = R3D, CRD & BWD, QA Testing is now = R3T, CRT & BWT, Production = R3P, CRP & BWP) The Original QA servers are now being removed (R3Q, CRQ & BWQ)
CRD is the Transport Domain Controller, with transport bins located on CRD for R3D & BWD, CRT for R3T & BWT and CRP for R3P & BWP. (Firewalls and Server locations are the root cause for the different Trans Directories)
    <b>Transport route:</b>
    Transport route for SAP R3 was: R3D -> R3Q -> R3T & R3P (in a delivery group). The new Transport Route needs to be R3D -> R3T -> R3P.
<b>Main Problem now:</b> With the Transport Route configured like R3D -> R3T -> R3P, any new transport requests created in R3D moves to the R3T Import Queue automatically when the transport is released. Once the transport is successfully imported into R3T, it should automatically be added to the R3P Import Queue, but does not.
<b>Present work around:</b> I've reconfigured the Transport route to R3D -> R3T & R3P. Any tranport request once released, is successfully added to both the R3T & R3P Import Queues.
I have checked all SAPService<sid> OS users and passwords, ensured that the TMSADM user was recreated and working on each of the systems,  used telnet to log onto each of the servers from each of the other servers at the OS level (to ensure it's not a landscape firewall security issue), I've also checked all RFC connections in the same manner (to ensure each system can reach the others), recreated the route from R3T to R3P as both a Consolidation and a Delivery type of route,
I will post any resolution found later.
    Thanks for the help anyway

2.Is it required to reset the TMSADM user. Please let me know  which user is used to access from QUA & PRD system to the Dev(
    KKK-dev\sapmnt\trans)  mount folder
    Thanks
    Malai

    Hi Malai,
I can't confirm your instruction although I think that they look good. But I want to share something that happened to me in NW640/700, my transport routes was not replicated to my different systems.
Maybe you should check that the transport routes are correct after your copy?
I don't know if you have any routes at all but if you have you can find them in STMS -> Overview -> Transport Routes. If you need to update your routes in other systems than the controller you use Configuration -> Adjust with Controller (from within Transport Routes). In the controller you can define the routes manually.

  • Configuring JCo3 Connection Pool with single sign on on non SAP Java server

    Hi Everyone,
i have configured a connection pool on JBoss as per JCo3 Documentation and is working great.
Now I need help to configure this connection pool with single sign on so that RFc on SAP ECC systems are executed using end users credential rather than using single user name password used to configure JCo connection pool.
On SAP Java stack I am sure its possible within Java WebDynpro    and i assume using JCA resource adapter. But what if we don't want to use SAP Java App server.
    Any help will be appreciated.
