Can any one help in this regard.

    HI Atul,
When you enter STMS for the first time it will create the DOMAIN_CFG
domain group and tp config file and all the required rfc's like
tmsadm@domainname and other. It will not ask any password.
Can u be clear with ur question exactly what problem ur getting?
Is this the first time you are trying to configure stms or you want to move

    Hi,
To configure the Transport System SAP recommends to have Global Tranpsport Directory.
    1. First decside which system will be Transport Domain Controler: - Generally Development System.
    2. Share the /usr/sap/trans directory Transport Domain Controler using NFS.
    3. Now Login in 000 client as DDIC user & execute the t-code STMS.
    4. It will ask to configure the Transport Domain Controler click on Ok.
    5. Set the parameter DIR_TRANS on Transport Domain Client (Production/Quality System) to the path of NFS mounted directory.
    6. Login to 000 client as DDIC user on Transport Domain Client (Production/Quality System) & execute STMS.
    7. It will ask to include the system in Transport Domain, click on OK.
    8. Now login again on Transport Domain Controler in 000 client & Approve Request.
    9. In Transport Domain Controler click on Overview--> Transport Routes
    10. Click on Configuration> Standard Configuration-> Select Appropriate to your Landscape.
    11. Now configure your transport router DEV>QAS>PRD

  • Configure STMS & transports as a single system

    Hello,
I configured STMS as a single DEV system, without QA and PRD. I have a requirement to import the transports into the DEV system, after copying cofiles and datafiles from another dev system.
Is it possible to move another system transports into DEV System, configuring it as a single system landscape. If it is possible, kindly provide the steps.
    Thanks,
    Mohi

    Hi
What you meant by "transport do not move" ?
Check here for Configuring Single Systems - Software Logistics - SAP Library
    Also as per Matt's  update, the same transport request also can be moved from command prompt  or shell (on any OS);
    log into sidadm
    from Command prompt,
    1) add request into buffer (this step may not be required if added earlier - as per Matt's update)
    tp addtobuffer <transport number> <SID>  pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/<transport profile, i.e. TP_DOMAIN_<SINGLE SYSTEM SID>.PFL
    2) then use below tp command to import the specific requests;
    tp import <transport number> <SID> CLIENT=<client number> pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/<transport profile, i.e. TP_DOMAIN_<SINGLE SYSTEM SID>.PFL

    Hi,
    Refer the following notes:

  • Configure STMS before applying SP?

    Hello All,
Why we need to Configure STMS before applying Support Packs??What is the relation of STMS with Support Packs application??

    Hi all,
STMS is mandatory before applying support packages. If you have not configured STMS you are not allowed to import support packages.
I hope you have  noticed while applying  support packages there are many phases like test import,DDIC activation, main port and so on.
Only by transport request the support packages are applied in SAP. You can verify the same in Support packages log. Even if you want to check the same at OS level you can get more details in trans log. It means SP can be applied only using transport request.
I will list out the actions while applying SP.
    2. Create cofile from datafile
    3. CMD Import
    4. Process Object list (All components listed)
    5. tp user check ok
    6. Add-on (All components listed)
    7. SPDD_SPAU_CHECK
    8. Compling SAP
    9. tp user check ok
    10. DD Import
    11. DD Activation
    12. Distribution of DD-Objects
    13. TBATG Convention of DD-Objects
    14. MOVE NAME TABS
    15. MAIN IMPORT
    16. Execution of Reports After Put.
So If you configure STMS only it will create co and data file.
I hope you would have clear understanding
    Regards

  • How can i configure STMS with out physical systems

    Dear Experts ,
    please solve my doubts
here i installed one system in AIX and named it as DEV system in that system i need to perform post-installaion Activities
and i started some activities also
presently my doubt is in STMS configuration
here i have only one system (DOMINE CONTROLLER) and we need to other systems while configuration but we dont have other systems like quality and production how can i configure that systems in my landscape
this is my first implementation Experience please suggest me with some valuable suggestions
    my doubts:
while creating systems we need to take for virtual systems or Extended systems
which transport routes can i prefer for Dev to Qly systemand also Qly to Prd
    please reply me
    Regards

    Hi,
If you have decided the SID's of the QUA and PRD systems then you can configure TMS with the virtual systems. Here are the steps to do so.
    Login to the domain controller
    Execute tcode STMS
Goto the menu overvie --> systems (Shift+F6)
SAP SYStems --> Create --> Virtual system
Enter the SID and description and then save ur entries.
Now the new virtual system will be created. Do the above for the others systems in the landscape.
Again execute STMS and then click SHIFT+F7. You will goto the transport route window. Now you can configure TMS for the systems in the list as usual.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to configure STMS so that CR appear automatically in the queue

    Hello,
Our transport scenario consists in a development system and a productive system. The transport host is the development system. The Os is Windows 2003 and the database is Oracle. The installation is done in local, there is not domain installation.
The thing is that the CR don't appear automatillay in the productive queue. We have to add them to the queue. The OS users from the productive system can write and read from the development trasport directory.
Do you know what to do, please?
All the other systems we have have three systems and the CR are automatically in the quality queue and not in the productive system, that is right for us, but not in this case, that we have two systems and users have asked us to have the CR in the queue.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Ana.

    Hi,
Login t oyour production system. Goto SE38 & execute the report "RSTPTEST"
Check which transport directory it is pointing.
All the results should be GREEN.

    Balu...

    Hi Balu,
    Key here is
DB Connect -- Link to database failed
Offline Call -- could not access file as supposed
which is tp is unable to connect to your database.. indirectly R3trans may not be working fine.
While you are configuring TMS tp will conenct to database to update database tables which it is unable to do.
Please provide trace of R3trans -d
    1. Logon at OS level with <sid>adm
    2. Execute R3trans -d and paste the contenct of trans.log in the same directory where you executed R3trans -d
    3. If you are able to solve DB connection error your self you can else please give OS and DB version and also Environment variables for the user sidadm.
    Thanks,
    Kiran.

  • STMS Configuration in Distributed environment

    Hello ,
Is there any extra efforts involved to configure STMS in Distributed Installation (i.e ABAP CI reside on Host A & ABAP DB redide on Host B)?
In my case DEV , QA & PRD ( CI & DB ) instalaled on indivisual servers.
In STMS configuration there is no issue with DEV & QA System while distributing the STMS.
But when I distribute & try to activate the PRD System the error :
    a)RFC error :
    ======> CPIC-CALL: 'CMACCP : rc=20
LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode
    ERROR       partner 'prddbhost:3301' not reached
b)RFC :CALLTP_Linux also failed to connect the system
Where in DEV & QA System the RFC "CALLTP_Linux" has no issue.
The PRD CI & DB is a HA ( active - active )
    Regards,
    Santopsh Karadkar

    In addtion :
If I move CI & DB on single host then the issue get`s resolved.
It means STMS / RFC works fine with ( active - passive scenario where it fails in active - active scenario )

  • STMS configuration issue due to LONG hostname

    sapcrm01-esrv\sapmnt\trans
We are facing a problem in configuring STMS Actually we use term sapcrm01-esrv as hostname and now when we tried to update the TMS configuration it is using on sapcrm01 and not the other section So it generates error “File
pro28\sapmnt\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_CRM.PFL could not found. No such directory or file exist”
Also TRANSDIR parameter in the TRANSPORT TOOL(marked in blue is not picked as per the hostname & done manually) It was pro28 instead of sapcrm01-esrv
But when we test RFC connection it uses SAPCRM01 section and fleshes connection to localhost OK

I am not able to do it on the local system itself.

  • Stms configuration doubt

We are using ecc 5.0 on oralce database on unix.actually i got doubt to configure stms.My domain controller is Domain_TPD.
which is development system.now that system is down.and the testing server is TPU.And production is TPU.
I have a doubt that i can delete that domain controller and i can create Domain controller in production and i will add testing system to production.Do i configure the same thing in stms.is it possible to create TMS between two systems with same sid.
    Please suggest me.
    Regards,
    Naveen

    Hi ,
Please find answer to your questions::
    1. i can delete that domain controller and i can create Domain controller in production:: yes you can delete the current configuration & make PRD system as  domian controller .
    2. i will add testing system to production:: yes you can add new system to new domain.
3.is it possible to create TMS between two systems with same sid.:: Same SID will not be supported in one landscape. You must have dieffrent SIDs .If you are asking the question like if you can configure the transport route in same system then you can do it by creatinf a dummy system.
    Thanks..
