Configure Sync-E on Cisco MWR2941

Dear friends,
I got a trouble when configure Sync-E on this Cisco Devices.
Topo1: Cisco7600 --- MWR1
This Topo is working fine because we can configure interface gigabit ethernet on Cisco 7600 as a Sync-E source with this command:
interface GigabitEthernet 3/1
synchronous mode
clock source internal
On MWR we use this command: network-clock-select 1 Sync 0
Topo2: Cisco 7600 --- MWR1 ---- MWR2
Configuration on 7600 and MWR1 are the same as Topo1 but the port to connect to MWR2 on MWR1 we can not configure it to transmit Sync-E like 7600.
I am using this IOS Release Notes for Cisco MWR 2941 Mobile Wireless Edge Router for Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)MRB
Please help me to find out the trouble!
Thanks a lot,
Do Thanh Son

You could do this with a shell or expect script from a *nix server.  but I would just do a copy start tftp://x.x.x.x/APname.txt

Steve

    Dear Genedeath,
I have noticed that you posted this message since last year ..... have you ever been able to solve the case??
I had a glance to the diagram and it looks quite similar to my case.
I need to configure a Cisco MWR2941 for the very first time  in order to support SyncE for packet Abis between a NSN FlexyBSC and a NSN BTS.
    BTS---------------Gig x/y MWR Gig x/x-----------------------FlexyBSC
I guess the source clock would be provided by BSC...
Can you support me according to your experience ??
    thanks and regards!

  • Can't configure sync my contacts & calendar on iTunes (10.1.0.56)

The ability to configure Sync my contacts is not avaliable. When I select sync my contacts the configure button does not respond.
As for Sync my calendars - this one I even can't select, the option to select the check box is disabled.
    I have iPhone 4 OS 4.2.1
I am using Outlook 2007 on windows XP.
I have re-installed iTunes, I have restored my iPhone, I have configured the iTunes Add in in my outlook, outlook is my default mail account, I basicly did everything that is possible.
Any idea on how to fix that?
Worth mention that previously I had iPhone 3G sync on this laptop, but I have managed to remove all the old backups.
I can sync photos and application but that's all.
    Thanks.

    I have resolved this.
For anyone having the issue, here's what appears to be happening based on running iTunes setup with verbose logging turned on and watching the time when the network interface dies.
    Issue:
During the installation, iTunes installs some network components related to mobile device support over ethernet(Apple Mobile Device Ethernet Service - netaapl.inf). At the same time, according the logs, the install process removed OEM18.inf. This almost exactly coincided with the time that I saw the network connection die (preceded it by a few seconds).
Basically, iTunes appears to be removing a required network component.
    Resolution:
After installing iTunes and the network connection breaking, remove the network device from Device Manager and allow Windows to reinstall it automatically.
The following instructions are for Windows 7, but they are close enough to follow for other versions of Windows.
    1. Click the Start button (Jewel in Vista and Win7).
    2. Right-click Computer and click Manage in the menu that appears (type your password or click Yes if prompted).
    3. On the left side of hte Computer Management window, click Device Manager.
    4. Click the arrow (or plus sign) next to Network Adapters to expand that section.
    5. Right-click your network adapter and click Uninstall in the menu that appears.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Reboot.
Windows should automatically detect and reinstall your network device on boot.

    Hello Krzysztof,
Another set of good/interesting questions posted. Thanks!
I will try to clarify your doubts.
In the output below both resources (proxy-connections and ssl-connections rate) are configured with a min percentage of resources (column Min), while 'Max' is set to equal to the min.
    ACE/Context# show resource usage
                                                         Allocation
Resource         Current       Peak        Min        Max       Denied
-- outputs omitted for brevity --
      proxy-connections             0      16358      16358      16358      17872
      ssl-connections rate          0        626        626        626      23204
Most columns are self explanatory, 'Current' is current usage, 'Peak' is the maximum value reached, and the most important counter to monitor 'Denied' represents the amount of packets denied/dropped due to exceeding the configured limits.
On the resources themselves, Proxy-connections is simply the amount of proxied connections, in other words all connections handled at layer 7 (SSL connections are proxied, as are any connections with layer 7 load balance policies, or inspection).
So in this particular case for the proxy-connections we see that Peak is equal to the Max allocated, and as we have denies we can conclude that you have surpassed the limits for this resource. We see there were 17872 connections dropped due to that.
ssl-connections rate should be read in the same manner, however all values for this resource are in bytes/s, except for Denied counter, that is simply the amount of packets that were dropped due to exceeding this resource.
For your particular tests you have allocated a min percentage and set max equal to min, this way you make sure that this context will not use any other additional resources.
If you had set the max to unlimited during resource allocation, ACE would be allowed to use additional resources on top of those guaranteed, if those resources were available.
This might sound a great idea, but resource planning on ACE should be done carefully to avoid any sort of oversubscription, specially if you have business critical contexts.
We have a good reference for ACE resource planning that contains also description of all resources (this will help to understand the output better):
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/ace/v3.00_A2/configuration/virtualization/guide/config.html#wp1008224
    1) When a resource is utilized to its maximum limit, the ACE denies additional requests made by any context for that resource. In other words, the action is to Drop. ACE  should in theory silently drop (No RST is sent back to the client). So unless we changed something on the code, this is what you should see.
To give more context, seeing resets with SSL connections is not necessarily synonym of drops. As it is usual to see them during normal transactions.
For instance Microsoft servers are usually ungracefully terminating SSL connections with RESET. Also when there is renegotiation during an SSL transaction you may see RESETS, but this will pass unnoticed for end users.
    2)  ACE will simply drop/ignore new connections when we reach the maximum amount of proxied connections for that context. Exisiting connections will continue there.
As ACE doesn't respond back, client would simply retransmit, and if he is lucky maybe in the next attempt he will be able to establish the connection.
To overcome the denies, you will definitely have to increase the resource allocation. This of course, assuming you are not reaching any physical limit of the box.
As mentioned setting max as unlimited might work for you, assuming there are a lot of unused resources on the box.
    3)  If a new connection comes in with a sticky value, that matches the sticky entry of a real server, which is already in MAXCONNS state, then both the ACE module/appliance should reject the connection and that sticky entry would be removed.
The client would at that point reestablish a new connection and ACE would associate a new sticky entry with the flow for a new RSERVER after the loadbalancing decision.
I hope this makes things clearer! Uff...

    Telmo

HI Team.we need to configuring IP SLA in cisco 3925 router with c3900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-4.M4.bin ios. For Monitoring purpose. Earlier we have used the rtr command for the same. Hi
I think the command has been updated - rather than 'rtr responder' it's now 'ip sla responder'.
I don't believe you need any particular feature set.
Also, this is a 'Contact Center' forum - you would get more responses in other places.

  • IGMP Snooping configuration for Multicasting on Cisco Catalyst 3020

IGMP Snooping configuration for Multicasting on Cisco Catalyst 3020
    Hi Guru,
Our switch model is "Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3020 for HP"
We are building HA (High Availability) Databases infrastructure.
Currently, there are two nodes(hosts- servers) and two above switch for HA.
Oracle said we need to turn off the IGMP Snooping in order to use the multicasting for their interconnect communication.
    So my question is:
Q1> Is there any way to use Multicasting without turning off IGMP Snooping on Switch side?
Q2> If 'yes', how can we configure the switch for Multicasting ?
Oracle uses 230.0.1.0 & 224.0.0.251 IPs with 42000 range port for Multicasting communication.
Please shed some light on it

May I request if you avoid making multiple posts of the same issue?  This will only confuse people (including you).

  • How long does "Configuring sync for MobileMe" take?

After getting used to my 3GS I took the next step to sync with my MacBkPro via MobileMe. I have gotten all the way through the process to "Find my iPhone" and the wheel is going around saying "Configuring sync for MobileMe" for about 20 minutes. How long should it take? Is it related to the number of Contacts I have in my iPhone which is also synced to my server at work and has 100's of contacts. How long should I wait and how do I abort?

Same sort of thing going on here.
    What ended up happening?

  • Nexus, configure sync and Interface VLAN

We have a pair of Nexus 5548's. Not everything is dual-homed. For example,
only one of them has a 10-gig link to our main office (along with a 100 meg
link elsewhere). I'd like to set up a switch profile between these switches
so I can set up vPC's with our UCS fabric interconnects as well as a pair of
    Fex Modules we have.
As it stands, we have SVI's on each switch, with hsrp between them, so the
secondary switch takes over as gateway if the primary fails.
Is it possible (and if so, best practice) after creating a switch profile,
and then going into configure sync mode to create SVI's (eg `interface vlan x`)
so that the SVI's are shared between the two switches, rather than creating
an SVI on each using hsrp in the event one of the switches fails?
Also, again, can we leave some ports out of the dual switch profile, if not
    everything is dual-homed?

That is correct. It is that easy. Don't forget that te physical port has to be configured as a layer 2 port (switchport).
You could create sub interfaces under the GigE interface if you were to configure that same physical interface as a layer 3 port (no switchport).
    Hope this helps,

  • RME Configuration Sync Report displays wrong

When I run Resource Manager Essentials -> 24-hour repots -> Configuration Sync Report, I get a list of routers and switches where the running-configuration and the startup-configuration do not match. They are denoted by an icon that shows two pages and a magnifying glass. When I click on that icon, the resultant report is unreadable. I've attached a screen shot of how it looks.
Any ideas on what I need to do to fix this?

If you are indeed running RME 3.3, then you should be on Java Plug-in 1.3, not 1.5
The appropriate plug-in is located on the server in CSCOpx/htdocs/plugin, you might want to transfer it to the client and install it there after you un-install 1.5

  • Which is better?  2 iTunes installs wl one logon -or- One iTunes install with configured sync parameters?

First, I'm on Windows Vista ... not a mac ... and I do not own MobleMe ... my wife and I are already users of iTunes ... so we're talking about going from where we are now to where we want to be - which will involve changes.  Thanks in advance for sharing ...
Currently, my wife and I have separate Windows Logons (on the exact same desktop machine) ... and we each have our own respective iTunes software installed on our separate desktops.   She syncs her iTunes with her iPhone, and I sync my iTunes with my iPad and iPhone.
I'm interesting in merging our separate iTunes accounts into one for the purpose of not having to purchase duplicate apps that we each will be wanting in the future.  (She doesn't know it yet, but she's going to get her own iPad for a surprise present.)
Looks like we are going to repurchase all her paid apps and place those into my account ... (she has fewer paid apps than I have, and that seems to be the least expensive way to start off.)
    So... Here's my question:
Is it better to have her sign off permantly from her installed iTunes Account, and sign back on as "me" ... then download all the apps I have already bought that she wants?   ( I.e.  have two separate iTunes installations - both using the same login ID and password ... but personally configured to our liking).
    ... OR ...
Is it better to delete her installation of her iTunes Account and just start using mine ... again configured to her liking by checking which apps should install her her devices and which should be installed to my devices?
    =============
Right now, she has her own music and I have mine ...
I'm open to any suggestions about PROs and CONs of each method ...
    Thanks for sharing

I've done some more reading around and found posts talking about disconnect issues and that some of them were able to fix their issues with a newer router.
I started thinking about my setup... I have a fairly old Linksys WRT54G-L v1 router and the latest firmware is 4.3.0.12. I had previously been running 4.3.0.5 and last night before more tests I upgraded my router.
After upgrading the router I restored and re-upgraded Apple TV. Connected to iTunes and synced a movie. The streaming worked even if I rebooted Apple TV. I could close iTunes on the computer and restart it and the Library title would go gray and then turn back to white when iTunes comes back up.
    Sounds like its working ...
However, when I restarted the computer... relaunched iTunes... the library title / link stays grayed out and no streaming...
SO after reading those posts about the potential for routers to be incompatible it got me thinking about how old mine is, 5 or 6 years old I think... and now I'm thinking about a Time Capsule or AirPort Extreme...
But before I do that, I'm going to update my Windows computer that hosts iTunes to XP SP3 and see what comes out of it. I have been putting that off long enough (actually thought I had already done it but I guess it just slipped me).
After that I will see how everything is behaving.
IF anyone has XP SP3 and still has this issue I'd be interested to know what kind of router you are using.

  • How to configure sync rules involving a CSV file and portal self service

    Hello,
I need to configure some FIM sync rules for the following scenario:
User account details are entered from a HR CSV file and exported to AD  Users have the ability to modify their own AD attributes in the
FIM portal (there is not a requirement for them to view their  HR CSV data in the portal). The FIM portal modifications will be exported to AD as expected.
    My setup is as follows:
CSV file - name, last name, employee ID, address.
CSV MA - has direct attribute flows configured in the MA between the data source and MV Portal self service attributes –
users can edit mobile, display name and photo
I've also set the CSV MA as precedent for the attributes
FIM MA – attribute flows defined for MV to Data Source as usual (i.e. firstname to firstname, accountname to accountname, etc).
AD MA – no attribute flows defined as inbound and outbound sync rules have been configured in the portal using the Set\MPR\Triple.
I’m thinking of using the following run profiles:
CSV MA – full import and delta sync (imports HR data)
FIM MA –  export and delta import (imports portal changes)
FIM MA – delta sync (syncs any portal changes)
AD MA – export and delta import
If my understanding is correct this should sync HR data from CSV to AD, as well as user attribute self service updates from the portal to AD.
If I wanted to just do a HR CSV sync could I get away with just steps 1 & 4 ? (presumably not as my rules are in the FIM portal?)
If I wanted to do just a portal sync, could I get away steps 2-4?
Any advice on how to improve my setup is much appreciated - cheers
    IT Support/Everything

The truth is that your design should be done in the way that it doesn't matter which profiles in which order you will execute. At the end, if you will run all import, synch and export profiles on each data source you should get same result. This is beauty
    of synch engine here.
Your steps from 1-4 will synch data to your data sources and at the end will give you expected result. But not because of the order you are executing them but because of correct attribute flows. If flows from CSV file and from FIM portal might be done for
the same attributes you need to think also about attribute precedence.

    Hi all,
I am a newbie to the Cisco IOS.
I got a Cisco 871 Router that I'd like to use for internet connection. My LAN network is 192.168.1.0/24 and the ISP has assigned us the IP 41.212.79.108/24 and gateway 41.212.79.1.

I'll appreciate any light you can shed on what am missing.

2 wireless routers can not communicate wirelessly with each other.
You need to connect cable between 2 routers and use the second wireless router as access point.
Follow this link to connect Linksys router to another router.
Some of your devices are getting same IP address. This might be the issue with DHCP server of the router. You can try DHCP reservation on the router so that each device will get unique IP address.
