Configure Trunk carrying same Vlans on two separate uplinks on Cisco 3845

Hi,
I need to carry 2 vlans(x & y) in a trunk to two separate redundant devices uplinked to Cisco 3845 on Fa1/0 and Fa1/1. I know I can create sub-interfaces on one of the uplink interfaces(i-e Fa1/0) with 2 distinct 802.1q vlans(Fa1/0.x & Fa1/0.y). But is there a way I can carry same vlans(x & y) trunked to my 2nd redundant device uplinked on 3845 from Fa2/0 ? If not then how should I get the 2nd redundant device uplinked to this 3845 router.
Any tips.. ?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

IF both links are going to the same device then you can create a Layer 3 Etherchannel.

  • Premiere capturing same audio in two separate tracks

My sequence capture settings (using a Xena LS capture card) are for two audio channels.
Right now I'm recording only with one microphone and have only one track of audio.
But when I'm capturing that single track of audio, it's showing up on both of the audio tracks in the timeline (same audio on two separate tracks).
Is there a setting to change that?
I have the basic settings for two audio tracks just for when I use two mics on separate camera inputs.
But when I record only one track, I would expect it to show-up on only one track in the timeline.
Could this be purely a Xena issue, or  is it the interface between PP and Xena?
    Thanks!

Thanks! I haven't used Premiere for about five years, but I remember that it's the way I used to do it.
Same with the Velocity system I used inbetween.
The Xena CS4 plugins just came out, so I'm going to contact them about this issue.
I'll leave this thread open in case someone has the same problem and wants to post it.

Usually you set up a task that has all the channels from all the modules configured. When a loop starts it reserves that task and the cDAQ can't be used by other loops unless you start and stop tasks.
You can have one loop acquire all the data and if you want certain channels to go to other loops you can use the producer/consumer design pattern. If you wanted a third loop you would add another queue and the third loop would dequeue that data. See attached.

  • Same artist but two separate 'albums'...?

A few months ago, I bought three tracks from iTunes. I bought the remaining seven tracks this weekend. Now I have two 'albums' in my library, one with three tracks and one with seven. How can I amalgamate the two?

Steve MacGuire a.k.a. turingtest2 - iTunes & iPod Hints & Tips - Grouping Tracks Into Albums - http://www.samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp (older post on Apple Discussions http://discussions.apple.com/message/9910895#9910895)
Quick answer:  Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085#17670085).
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields.  If they are not a multiple CD set you still need to make sure the disc number fields are set correctly or all empty.

  • How can i execute in the same block diagram two separate labview codes each one with diferent execution timings?

Hello guys. I have been trying to solve this by a long time now...but i cant solve it....
I have my main code in labview beying executed in one timed loop of 1second.....but now i need to pulse a lazer very fast than one second...
my ideia was like executing the lazer pulse code in paralel with the main code but with a mutch faster timed loop....but when i put the second timed loop outside of the main one....it hapens that the aplication keeps runing only the faster loop and the main loop doesnt run....
I really dont know how to solve this....
    many thanks

    JOSE,
your code is really difficult to read. Please do some cleanup work, your diagram should be only little larger than an average computer screen. What I have glanced so far is that your code has a lot of beginner mistakes (overuse of local variables).
For multi-loop applications, you shoul have a look at the tutorials concerning Producer-Consumer design pattern. The quick and dirty approach is to use locals (a bit contradictonary to suggest using locals here after I stated an overuse of them). The drawback will be, that you lose the latch mechanism of the button and must code it on your own (and make a big set of mistakes, using locals always attracts race conditions). Most important is that you write to your button only once, after all loops have finished spinning.

  • How to install two iTunes on same PC for two iPods?

My family now proudly owns 2 iPods, but we only one PC. So it needs to host two iPods, with their resepctive iTunes on it.
I thought this was going to cause problems, and worried that installing iTunes for the most recently purchased iPod would overwrite the existing programme, wipe the music off it and cause my middle daughter to kill me. The guy in the shop said, no problem - create a new User Account and install the new iTunes on that, and it would be OK. So I did.
I got a bit worried when the install prog wanted me to put the new iTunes into the same folder that the old one was in, (even though I was logged in as a different, new user) so I found a new location for it and went ahead.
Guess what - it wiped the old iTunes anyway. When I opened up the old one, it had been overwritten anyhow.
I did a system restore to try and get it back to the previous setting - deleting the new user I had created. And went back into the old version of iTunes to see if the music files had come back. But it wouldn't even run - saying that some files were now missing.
This is doing my head in, it's happened before (and I had to buy Copypod to restore the stuff on my iPod).
How can you get two copies of iTunes on the same PC running two separate iPods?!! And how can I get the overwritten files back?

You don't need two copies of iTunes. There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Have a look at the article linked below. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries as each account using iTunes will have it's own iTunes Music Folder. Method two is to set your preferences so each iPod is updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look anyway and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer

Hi there, appreciate if someone could clear this up for me. If I'm logged with same account in two separate places, while in a conversation - would you be able to see or hear the conversation on the computer, that's not the one I'm calling from? Thanks!

Don't "create" an account. On the new computer, just go to the command *Store > Authorize This Computer*, and authorize it to the existing account, using the existing ID and password.

  • Trunking between separate buildings with same vlan numbering scheme

    Hello
I have (2) warehouses physically next to each other.
Each warehouse has it's own WAN link
My Vlan design is the same across all my sites where each site has (Vlan 10 - 15) using a site specific subnet ip scheme.
I am now going to run a fiber link between my (2) warehouses and can create a trunk between the sites.
I am pretty sure of the answer but I think I am going to have to re-vlan one of the warehouses so I can add each sites vlans to the trunk.
That seems like a mid-major overhaul to one of the sites
Does anyone have any experience with this type of design and provide some guidance on steps to follow?

Many thanks, Jon. You are correct, I had not mentioned my intent to move servers around, originally.
What is not working, is that I cannot ping Houston from Atlanta and viceversa. For example, If I am logged into the ATL switch, I try to ping the HOU switch, but get no reply. In this example, Let's say that ATL switch is 10.11.1.2.. If I try to ping 10.11.2.2 (HOU) nothing. 10.11.1.x traffic should be tagged as vlan 10 in ATL, and 10.11.2.x should be NOW tagged as vlan 112 in HOU.

  • Can I configure a wireless home network with two cable routers (both with separate connections to the same cable company)?  Issue is poor signal strength even with multiple Airport Expresses added to the network.

I have a wireless home network consisting of a time capsule, two airport expresses and a cable modem.  Even with this configuration I get a very weak signal in much of be condo - the walls, etc. are solid concrete. I want to see if I can add another separately connected cable modem and connect one of the existing airport express to it by Ethernet cable.  If so, this would give me two wired hubs and greatly improve signal strength. I do not know if this configuration will in fact work or if I will just wind up with two, separate and unrelateable networks.  Unfortunately, there is no way to run any additional Ethernet cable and I doubt simply adding more Airport Express will help. Thanks.

Try Ethernet over Power adapters.. these are very popular for your kind of environment.. being able to make non-wireless link to another area where you can setup a wireless access point.
Airport Express are not great for wireless power.. if you really have issues with wireless strength in a bad environment apple stuff is not the way to go.
    The comparison chart here.
    http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/router-charts/bar/58-2_4-ghz-dn?see=P_F
This is their worst test location you can also see averages.. the latest airport extreme.. is there a long way down.. and that is a much better wireless device than Airport Express.
The Ubiquiti power AP is small cheap and designed for precisely this duty.. useless in an apple wireless network.. you will need to run ethernet or EOP adapters back to the main router.. but if the normal omni directional antennas don't provide enough signal you can get directional ones.. I suspect you can cover your whole apartment with a pair of these and high gain directional antenna.

  • Can a mac mini be set up to run two separate users at the same time?

I work for a middle school and we need to purchase 20 computers that will just be used to run internet apps. Though we have all Macs, we don't have a big budget and for this one use only, we are condsidering purchasing inexpensive HP all-in-ones for about $450 each. However, I was wondering if a Mac Mini can be first set up with 2 partitions, install the OS on both partitions, then run two different users, with two separate monitors and keyboards, at the same time? This way, instead of purchasing 20 Windows computers, we could purchase 10 Mac Mini's (and displays) and save money, and still be supporting just one OS throughout the campus.

If you setup a server, as in the Mac OS X Server Installation, pages 23ff show configurations, you can have multiple users, but they must all have computers.  Some installations can be done with dumb terminals but that is not what you seem to want.  Unix machines do have a multiple simultaneous user capability but you still have to have a computer for each user, again, not what you seem to want to do.  Right now there are two other users logged in on my Sun workstation on the desk behind me...they are logged in because I permit them to do so.
And last night for an experiment I connected my iMac and MBP by ethernet wire, logged in on the iMac, then logged in on the MBP and from there on the iMac...but I set up the network to permit that and then disabled it again.  You can create security holes doing things like this.
As dwb points out switching from Apple to PC equipment is a false economy that lures in administrators.  In our county school system we had a superintendent who hired a good friend...who had PC-industry ties.  Decided to remove all Apple equipment from the elementary schools and switch to PCs.  It wasn't long before they ended up going on a 4-year cycle of "refreshing" the equipment, i.e., completely replacing all hardware in every school on a four year cycle.  Since my wife was a Media Specialist, aka librarian, and responsible for technology in her school, every four years she had to develop a complete school map of where each teacher wanted the computers in their classrooms, complicated by where the technicians predetermined the locations of the network wire drops, of course.  then teachers get shuffled over the summer and all the plans are for naught.
Anyway, there really isn't a solution to your problem except to buy a large number of computers and let each student use one and have them networked to a server, print server, printers, etc.  This is not inexpensive and cutting corners will only cause headaches for you.

  • Need to configure different SSIDs on same VLAN on 1142

We're having a problem with interference in the B/G range due to the large number of access points owned by other companies in a fairly small area. The various laptops keep deauthenticating, which is causing problems with applications. I'd like to configure two SSIDs on the same VLAN but have them broadcasted on different frequencies. The AP complained about the configuration when I added the Company5.8 SSID below stating another SSID can't be added to a VLAN, but it shows in the configuration. Does any one have a suggestion as to what I can try? Thanks

  • 3750 bandwidth limitation between the same vlan over the trunk

    Hi All,
I have 2 3750G series switches on the trunk link. some machines are part of vlan1 on the switch 1 and some machines are the part of the same vlan1 on the other switch2. I need to limit the bandwidth between the switches for the vlan1. picture is attached.
I tried to do through the modulare policy frame work (class-map/service-map and policy-map using the police command) but problems are
    1) 3750 does not support output service policy, so i cannot apply the policy on the output of the trunk link.
    2) I can apply the input policy but it will be only for one machine but not for the others on the same switch. if i apply the policy on per port basis then every port has separate bw limitation. I require to limit the bandwidth on per vlan basis on the trunk port. like vlan 1 takes 10 MB, VLAN2 takes 10 MB on the trunk link when communicating between the same vlans.
Is there any solution for that scenario? your help in this case will be higly appriciated. As its the layer 2 communication, its hard for me to find the solution. if it was layer 3 then i can do it easily by using the rate-limit commmand on the interface.
    thanks

On the 4500 series we use vlan-range for this,
    conf t
    qos aggregate-policer 10MB 10 mbps 1250000 byte conform-action transmit exceed-action drop
    policy-map 10MB
    class class-default
    police aggregate 10MB
    interface GigabitEthernet1/1
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,12,15
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport nonegotiate
    vlan-range 1
    service-policy input 10MB
    service-policy output 10MB
    end
dunno if the 3750's have the same options

  • [boxir2-sp4] two separate CMS with same cluster name

How can I change the current cluster name.  Currently have two separate CMS on two separate servers but with the same cluster name.  They both show up on each others CMC -> Servers page.  This was not our intention.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

Login to CCM, stop CMS server, go to it's properties, go to Configuration tab, check "change cluster name box" and type new cluster name, click apply, OK, start CMS. Done
Make absolutly sure that each CMS is pointing to it's own CMS DB !!!

  • Connect additional switch to existing switch, receiving vlan mismatch, also want to configure same VLAN's

Hello! I have a network in with a i have a switch stack configured for voice and data. Particularly, both are configured to pass over the same port.
I want to add a temporary switch (different model) to the network and configure it the same way. In particular, I want to see that I can set up the voice/data VLAN's on this new switch and test to confirm all is working. I need an uplink though back to the original switches so that this new switch can get a proper connection.
When I connect the new switch in, I can't seem to get an IP and the CLI keeps showing a "Native VLAN mismatch error" and shows the hostname of the original switch.
    So my questions are:
How can I add this temporary switch to the existing switch to get a connection, not as another stacked switch?
How can I configure the voice/data VLAN's on the switch so as to be able to test the voice/data traffic over the same port?

Hi! Yes I did change the native vlan for that particular port on "Sw2" (New switch) to match "Sw1" (existing switch). The Sw2 port shows native vlan inactive though.
Below is an output from them on that port.

  • Configuring an Airport network with two separate nets...

    Hi,
I need to configure my Airport Network to have two different local net: the first using 192.168.1.x, and the second using 192.168.2.x with the same gateway address in order that one net could not see the other one but both can use the same internet connection, connected to the main Airport Extreme through the wan port.
Normally to make it I work I configure the subnet of the router in 255.255.0.0.
But I can't find anything about the possibility to set up these LAN parameters (also the LAN IP of an Airport...!!!) on Airport Extreme.
Is there a way I can't find? I hope it can be possible to set these basic parameters like in every 30$ cheapest router...
Or maybe someone could help me to set up my network?
Thanx in advance for any reply,
    Gab

I have DSL service from AT&T in San Francisco that includes five static WAN IP addresses behind a single Internet connection with gross speeds of 6Mbps down and 768Kbps up. This kind of service may not be available to you in Italia.
A fairly common use of this service is to provide a "public" Internet connection service for clients and guests while providing another "private" service restricted to employees and associates. Using up to five routers, you can set up to five different subnets that are independent of each other. All subnets share the same Internet pipeline, however.
In my case, I use separate subnets for various testing purposes. For example, I might use a separate subnet to test various functions of a new router without fear of causing problems with my primary network.
