Configure VLM

Question

hi all,
we have Oracle 10g R2 on linux x86 with 8G RAM, but Oracle's SGA is "Total System Global Area 1828716544 bytes".
what are the steps to make oracle use VLM.

I wrote LVM by mistake, to mutch Linux partitions lately, all that was in my head ..
