Configuring a mail adapter

I have been going through procedure to create a File - Mail scenario.
I was going through the SDN TV link for the same and it is told that no target DT creation is required and need to download from market place.
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/media/uuid/70e47c62-0c01-0010-dea1-83390d4beb4c
Does this mean I cannot create DT for Mail scenario manually?
If I have to download the DT... please provide the link and procedure to import it to my NS.
Also please provide step by step instructions for creating this scenario.
I have been through blogs.. I came across this scenario using XSLT,  Mail Receiver Adaptor Configuration, how to implement dynamic mail address, eMail Report as Attachment but i failed to find good blogs that descripe step by step.
Thanks,
Venkat.

Venkat,
You can download from this location mentioned in this thread:
File to  Mail Adapter
Also if you dont have user id and pwd for oss you hv the xsd here. Copy it in a notepad and use it:
Problem in Occurance for Mail XSD
You can see this step by step:

    When i gave URL in place of URL, am getting this log

    Hi,
    <i>1.How to stop deleting mails.</i>
    When the IMAP4 protocol is used, we get an option "Delete messages when read".You could specify if you need to delete it or not.
    <i>2.How to do mapping for an attachment,what additional things i have to do for this.</i>
    Could you please elaborate?
    <i>3.Is there any option to change the flag of mail once it is read by XI.</i>
    You cannot do this from XI. You would need to do it in your email client. In case you are using IMAP4,you could mark the message as read, once XI reads the unread message.

  • How to configure reciever mail adapter

    Hi All,
    I have gone through your weblog for configuring reciever mail adapter BY PRASAD ULAGAPPAN.
    I have few doubts .
    Message protocol  ==      XIALL.
    If I am providing my mail address in MAIL ATTRIBUTES-TO parameter
    then what do we have to exactly specify in connection parameters.
    I want to send a mail from XI to my ID.  Suppose my id is [email protected] .
    So if I am providing this ID in " TO " parameter then what should I specify in connection parameters
    i.e       url = ?
               user = ?
               password = ?  (which password to specify  , usually we dont require to give password to recieve mails )
    Please help me with this.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Yomesh,
    The below help URL gives explanation for 'Connection Parameters for Mail Server':
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0b/9a50465ccf84479e39a6d50c90fb3f/frameset.htm
    You need to provide your mail server details. When you send a mail normally, say from outlook, you configure it to connect to some SMTP/IMAP server, using username/password.
    Provide that server details in URL.
    If you dont use user/password to connect to it, leave it blank.
    Also fill the 'From' mail address.
    For eg., if there is a internet connectivity to your XI server, and you want to use SMTP server of yahoo to send out mails,  then you can give:
    URL: smtp://smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    userid: yomeshsharma
    password: <your yahoo password>
    In this case, both your From & TO details are same.
    You can change 'TO' to send to a different mail address.

  • Configuring Receiver mail adapter with dynamic email addresses

    Hi,
    I'm a newbie to XI and I have problems in configuring the Receiver mail adapter with the "Use Mail package" option selected. I am trying pickup a file (using file adapter on Sender side, picks up a simple XML file) and after mapping in XI, send the message as an email message to dynamic email addresses.
    Everything works fine if I did not select the "Use Mail Package". But when I choose that option it errors out. I followed this blog posted on SDN -
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/07/mail-adapter-xi--how-to-implement-dynamic-mail-address
    The following XML message is my source
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Somenamespace">
       <ns0:Message1>
          <ns1:studentlisttest xmlns:ns1="urn:karthiksender_to_karthikreceiver">
             <Student>
                <studentid>1</studentid>
                <lastname>Studentlastname</lastname>
                <firstname>Studentfirstname</firstname>
             </Student>
             <Mail>
                <From>[email protected]</From>
                <To>[email protected]</To>
                <Subject>Test mail adapter</Subject>
             </Mail>
          </ns1:studentlisttest>
       </ns0:Message1>
    </ns0:Messages>
    What I want to accomplish is, I have a simple message mapping where the Studentdetails are mapped to, lets say Customer details. For convenience lets keep it simple, StudentId --> Customerid, (student)Firstname --> (customer)Firstname, (Student)Lastname --> (customer)Lastname
    I would like to get the Customer details as an XML attachment or in the body of an email with from, to and subject corresponding to that specified in the <Mail> node.
    I followed the instructions posted on the blog and it works fine if I don't map the studentdetails to customerdetails. I did multimapping, with one source message (the xml file I posted above) and two target messages (customerdetails and Mail, which is the external definition posted on the blog). I beleive I'm missing something here. Could somebody please guide me through this?
    Thanks
    Karthik

    hi,
    I still have not found the solution for this problem. Michal, your blog works fine when my source message has got only the mail details. As per your advice, I tried modified the structure of the xsd file as follows

  • Configuring the mail adapter Sender

    Hi Guys, hope you are fine.
    I have a doubt: is it possible to configure, how many emails the sender mail adapter takes per polling?
    I have an inbox with more than 300 emails and I have a sender mail adapter configured with a 10 minutes pooling and I need to limit the number of messages or, just to have an ideia about the number of messages it takes. Does it depends of the machine or something like that?
    Any kind of help is welcome... =)
    Thank you
    Luciana Rossan

    Hi Luciana,
    Please refer to the FetchLimit option, described in SAP Help for sender mail adapter, it matches your requirement perfectly:
    IMail.FetchLimit
    You can set this additional parameter to restrict the number of mails fetched by sender mail adapter in one polling interval.
    Sometimes the mailbox configured for the sender mail adapter contains large number of unread mails, which exceeds the average expected number of mails in one polling interval. In such a case, processing of all the unread mails in the same polling interval by sender mail adapter degrades the system performance. To avoid this, set value of this parameter to the maximum number of mails to be fetched and processed in one polling interval. The remaining mails exceeding the limit would be processed in the next polling interval.
    Please refer to the help itself if further details required:

  • XSLT Mapping with Dynamic Configuration for Mail Adapter

    Hi Guys,
    I am wondering if somebody can help me please.
    I have a requirement in which I need to pick up the file from FTP and email it to the user as an attachment with the same file name and content.
    I know it is possible via 3 method either by deploying adapter module or via XSLT or JAVA Mapping.
    I preferred XSLT Mapping because it is easier to use and we don't need to compile the code like JAVA Mapping.
    I have done the XSLT Mapping but the only problem I am facing is that how to copy the file name which we get it from Dynamic Configuration to the Mail ContentDisposition.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
      xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
      xmlns:map="java:java.util.Map"
      xmlns:dyn="java:com.sap.aii.mapping.api.DynamicConfiguration"
      xmlns:key="java:com.sap.aii.mapping.api.DynamicConfigurationKey">
    <xsl:output indent="no" />
    <xsl:param name="inputparam"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <!-- change dynamic configuration -->
        <xsl:variable name="dynamic-conf"
            select="map:get($inputparam, 'DynamicConfiguration')" />
        <xsl:variable name="dynamic-key"
            select="key:create('http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File', 'FileName')" />
        <xsl:variable name="dynamic-value"
            select="dyn:get($dynamic-conf, $dynamic-key)" />
        <xsl:variable name="dummy"
            select="dyn:put($dynamic-conf, $dynamic-key, $new-value)" />
        <!-- copy payload -->
    I tried many option but unfortunately none of them worked.
    <Content_Disposition>attachment;filename="$inputparam"</Content_Disposition>
    <Content_Disposition>attachment;filename="$dynamic-conf"</Content_Disposition>
    <Content_Disposition>attachment;filename="$dynamic-key"</Content_Disposition>
    <Content_Disposition>attachment;filename="$dynamic-value"</Content_Disposition>
    <Content_Disposition>attachment;filename="$dummy"</Content_Disposition>
             <Content_Disposition>
                attachment;filename=
                <xsl:value-of select="dynamic-key"/>
             </Content_Disposition>
    I really appreciate if someone can please provide some guidance.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Yes u r correct it will show error in operation mapping.. bcoz u cannot check the DynamicConfiguration in Operation mapping...
    It will throw Exception..
    The parameter to UDF depends on ur requirement.... Let us know ur requirements exactly...
    If u r doing for file to file means no UDF required,, just check ASMA on both sides....

    Hi Venkateswara,
    I would suggest that you go through these to know how to configure your sender mail adapter,
    <a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step mail adapter step by step</a>

  • Mail adapter configuration

    Hi all,
      I am using the mail adapter to send mails to end users for a certain process from the integration server. The SXMB_MONI doesn’t give me any errors but I cannot see the mail coming through. On viewing the adapter monitor, I don’t see the mail adapter in the monitor though I have configured the mail adapter in the directory settings. Am I missing something? Do I have to do something extra to get the mail adapter into the adapter monitor? When I run the “trace , I am able to see the following error
    <Trace level="3" type="T" />
      <Trace level="3" type="T">Unknown channel type: Mail</Trace>
      <Trace level="3" type="T" />
    Any ideas please…

    Hi Teresa,
    If your XI system in on SP9 then check this OSS note:789584
    It describes the solution for the problem "The XI 3.0 Adapter Monitor does not display the status of the mail adapters in detail"
    This will atleast help you see what is happening with the mail adapter.
    You may also want to check these OSS notes:

  • MAIL ADAPTER TCPGW CONFIGURATION

    Hi all
            I am new to the SDN forum and hence excuse me if this post shouldnt be here. Now i have been trying to configure the mail adapter to work properly with the TCPGW
    But i have been having a lot of errors. I am very new to this and just on the starting of the learning curve.
    The errors which i get are
    1) Connection refused
    2) java.nullPointerException
    Now in the pck the url in the Sender Mail Channel is
    imap://localhost:50143/ss (ss is a folder in the outlook).
    Now in the pck the url in the receiver Mail Channel is
    imap://localhost:50144/ss1 (ss1 is another folder in outlook).
    Now in the tcp gateway could anyone tell me what should be the listner and the target port?
    I configured it as target port 143 listner port 50143 is this right?
    Thanks
    Regards
    Harsha

    Hi,
    Try for SAP Note: 856597.
    You can find a tool called TCPGateway in the attachment section of this note (stored in tcpgw.zip). Please unpack this zip file and open index.htm for more configuration and error analysis details.
