Configuring a Solutions Catalog for E-Support

The Siebel E-Support Administration Guide says the following on page 52:
Knowledge base articles displayed in Siebel E-Support consist of Siebel Solutions records in your
company’s Siebel Business Application. To prepare knowledge base articles (that is, Siebel Solutions
records) for display in Siebel E-Support, you must create Siebel Solutions records, then add them to
the Siebel E-Support knowledge base catalog, and finally associate them with catalog categories.
NOTE: In Siebel E-Support, the category for a solution is not exposed in the Web service.
What designates the E-Support catalog? In other words, if I have an out-of-the-box install of Siebel and am setting up E-Support, what are the steps to either create a catalog for E-Support or change settings on an existing catalog to make it an "E-Support catalog"?

  • One Solution Manager for different customers

    Hi Guys!!
    I am configuring a Solution Manager for different customers wich have a different S-users and different users to manage the solution manager system.
    My problem is that there is only one SAP-OSS RFC destination where I can fill the data only for one of the S-users. From "solution_manager" transaction you can indicate the S-user too (Edit - Global Settings) but the same problem occurs, I can fill the gap only with one S-user and I have to change this one when I want to work with different S-user.
    Can i configure the system to indicate different S-users depens on the user who I use to logon to solution manager system?

    you did not mention, which scenarios do you plan to use.
    Functionality to use the SolMan for many customer numbers is already available or will be added in future Support Package Stacks.

    - Forwarding SAP Messages (with different S-Users resp. customers)

  • How to configure CTS+ for Solution Manager for XI 3.0

    Hi ,
    We are working on XI 3.0 SP 20 and Doing a file system based transport of .TPZ files. We observed that there is a possibilit of misssing the objects while tranporting. So we are planning to set CTS+ with our Solution Manager.
    Question:
    1. Can we configure CTS+ through the latest version of Solution Manager for XI 3.0 landscape?
    If Yes .. How?   If No... Why?
    2. Is there any way to make the the transport automated like ABAP tranports.

    Thank you for the Demo. The Demo gives me information about the CTS+ setup. I am looking for the compatability of CTS+ for XI 3.0.
    We have Solution Manager 7.1 setup in place.
    Please let us know if we can setup CTS+ on solution Manager (7.01 EHP1) and use it to transport XI 3.0 SP20 IR/ID objects  across  the XI landscape.

  • How long for Costomer Support to a solution?

    So far I've been waiting 8 weeks for some Windows 64 bit drivers to be sent to me. 
    It's been escalated to Tier 3 Support, but they do not give a timescale for feedback, let alone a timescale for a solution.
    Is this normal for Customer Support to drag their heels for such a long time?

    I must assume that in the absence of anything contrary to my assertion, that 9 weeks and counting of waiting for a simple solution is the norm!

  • Configure Interface channel monitoring for PI in SOLMAN 7.1

    Hi Experts,
    I am configuring interface channel monitoring for PI in SOLMAN 7.1.In step 5 (Define scope) it is asking to select scenario.I can see all PI systems (Dev,QA and PRD) is listed in the table with "monitoring and alerting setup status" as yellow.when I select PI (prod) and proceed , in step 6.3 (Interface channel Monitoring config) I don't find any channel name in table.I need your support to clear my understanding on this.
    1)My objective is to monitor all the interfaces that are existing between PI system and other SAP as well as non SAP systems (that include JDBC connections also).How can find all these interfaces in solman while doing Interface channel monitoring config?
    2)I am not sure if I have understood correctly that I need to create scenario that includes technical systems between which Interface channel are to be monitored. If I am correct then how can I bring the technical system to SOLMAN SLD from Local SLD of PI(prod).Here I am not getting option to synchronize SOLMAN SLD from PI Local SLD. Even Import option is also not there. Do I need to create all the Technical systems (present in PI) to SOLMAN SLD manually?
    If my understanding is not correct then please guide me through steps to do the configuration to achieve my objective.

    the users SLDDSUSER and SLDAPIUSER got locked, I changed it in su01.
    and I created rfc in SM59 for SAPSLDAPI and LCRSAPRFC and create the same in JCo RFC provider.
    both are working.
    but iam facing new problem.
    I have solution manager 7.1 system and I configured local SLD. I did not connect any managed system as of now.
    after all the trouble shooting, SLDAPICUST and SLDCHECK is fine but
    the error is
    "Functional call returned exception code 3"
    "Access to XI Profile currently disrupted.
    I have solution manager 7.1, I did not configure managed systems as of now.  is this error belongs to solution manager 7.1 or for PI system.
    can u please guide me how to trouble shoot this error. check the following screen shot for reference.

    (2) yes, you have to setup once all your customer connections at the beginning but then only add/remove with customer contract changes
    (3) the workaround by sending by email can handled a anexception. EWA has to be done for productive systems like nowadays done by SAP. Additional EWA services could meas additional business case for a VAR - that's contract between VAR and customer.
    (4) whatever you think may be a business to sell - do it ! (and get a monetary bonus from your boss

    Hi,
    As far as we could see, you're facing an authorization issue. To solve
    that...
    Can you check that the user executing the task (SOLMAN, i suppose) is
    assigned the authorization - you can run an authorization trace using
    transaction ST01 (check only the authorization box) and reproduce the
    issue. The resulting trace should show which authorization failed. Once
    this is established the necessary authority can be assigned to the user.

    ( assumed that C is the drive wherein Weblogic Server6.0 has been installed)
