Configuring AD PasswordSync

Hi,
I need some help regarding AD PasswordSync.I have gone through the http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19543-01/820-2954/820-2954.pdf (Sun™ Identity Manager 8.0 Administration)document.
I want to Configure PasswordSync with JMS Server. Presently I am using JBOSS application server.I want to do the JMS setup in JBOSS application server. The document describes how to do the JMS configuration in Sun JMS Server not with JBOSS application server.
It will be great if somebody provides me the steps for doing the same in JBOSS server.
Can any body provide me the sample data for The JMS Listener Resource Wizard “Resource Parameters” page.
Thank in advance..
Waiting eagerly for reply. :)

Hello,
In the documentation (P. 421) you will find all the PasswordSync info you need to set it up.
There is also the below note.
NOTE • The instructions in this section assume you have installed Sun Message
Queue. (The necessary tools are located in the bin/ directory of your
Message Queue installation.)
• You can use either the Message Queue administrative GUI (imqadmin)
or the command-line tool (imqobjmgr) to create these administered
objects. The following instructions use the command-line tool.
We use JMS 4.3, the documentation for setting this up may be found here:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19879-01/820-6740/index.html
This should provide you with a good jumping off point.

  • PasswordSync Configuration - JMS Properties Settings

    Hi,
I am basically trying to install and configure the password Sync process on a Windows 2000 Domain controller to interact with Sun IdM 6.0.
I had installed the .NET 1.1 framework required for a Windows 2000 Domain Controller and PasswdSync. Now when I am trying to configure the PasswordSync, I am not sure what values should be entered against the "java.naming.factory.initial" and "java.naming.provider.url" properties under the JMS Properties tab of the PasswordSync configuration wizard. Also, I would appreciate if any one of you could throw some light on JMS Settings as well. I have set-up the JMS server and created a connection factory required before trying to configure.
    Thanks,
    Indie.

IDM is installed in UNIX (the servlet which is invoked by pwsync) this is what was failing, I changed it to the actual unix path where the .bindings file
    is and it worked.
I cant recall what I read in the documentation but it is not clear the value that this parameter must have,
it specifies what the parameter is but when using both unix and windows environments it gets confusing, at least for me,
    but anyway, it works now.

  • AD Passwordsync

We are planning to use AD passwordsync. Currently our AD accounts are linked to OIM identities based per the below reconciliation rule:
    <OIM User ID> EQUALS <EmpNo attr on AD>
i.e the AD sAMAccountName is not same as the OIM user ID and sAMAccount is not stored on OIM user profile.
Per the AD passwordsync connector documentation, when password is changed on AD the sAMAccountName is passed onto OIM side and it is matched to the OIM user attribute mentioned during the connector installation (default attribute is 'Users.User ID'.
As mentioned in our case, sAMAccountName is not same as OIM User ID and is not stored on user profile. And we do only target source recon with AD.
How can we configure the passwordsync in our scenario?

    Not.
You are not totally clear in what your environment is: is SAMAccountName empty, or just not the same?
If SAMAccountName is not set up properly, I fail to see why you would want to use password synchronisation. You will have to rework the SAMAccountName format issue first.

  • PasswordSynch Configuration - Test Fails

I am trying to configure passwordSynch to work with Sun JMS. I have everything setup, including JMS Listener RA.
Now when I click the TEST button in the passwordSynch Configuration window, I get an error:
The underlying connection was closed: The proxy name could not be resolved, verify correct proxy configuration. This is a clear error, you would say, but I have NOT configured a proxy (unchecked checkbox: Proxy Server -> Enable ). So I have no idea why it is complaining about the proxy! :-S
Anyone else had this problem before, and managed to solve it? Plz, tell me how you did it?

OK, it seems it doesn't matter if I enable/check or disable/uncheck the Proxy Server settings for passwordSync, when Internet Explorer is configured to use a proxy server.
I have reconfigured Internet Explorer to NOT use a proxy server, and now I am having different errors. So I am on track. :-)
Maybe someone can help me out with the new error I'm having:
    Test connection failed!
    Server Error Message:

  • Install PasswordSync Servlet as a separate webapp from IdM

We run Identity Manager 8.1 on a RHEL5 server and have PasswordSync installed on our domain controllers running Windows 2000 server. We have configured PasswordSync to use JMS (Sun Glassfish Message Queue 4.4). However, the PasswordSync servlet is installed in the same container within the same webapp context as IdM. We would like to pull out the PasswordSync servlet into it's own webapp, served in either the same container as IdM or not, so that we can still queue password changes from AD during IdM maintenance (IdM application stopped). Has anyone had any experience with this set up?
According to the FAQ for Sun Java Identity Manager 8.1 (chapter 11), you can install the PasswordSync servlet on a different server from IdM and all you need is "...the spml.jar and idmcommon.jar jar files, in addition to any jar files required by the JMS application". However, after some trial and error, I've discovered that the idmclient.jar contains the PasswordSyncServlet class, so it's also required.
    Thanks,
    Eric

More on this effort... I have created a war containing the PasswordSync Servlet and deployed it to a separate instance of Tomcat. When I try to access the servlet path in my browser, I get the following error message:
    "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Error initializing Encryptor: null"
There are no others errors in the Tomcat logs. Has anyone ran into this issue while setting up PasswordSync as a stand alone servlet?

  • Help AD PasswordSync and JMSListener

    Hi
We are trying to use the JMS listener with AD for password sync.
The AD is working fine and in the log we can see its trying to send the password sync over.
But in the IDM nothing happens. We have set trace enabled but see nothing.THe JMS Listener logs show not even an incoming request. In IDM interface when we test the JMS Listener it says Test Connection successful.
On the other hand we are using Glassfish and the Message Broker shows a client connection coming in.
How to turn on more debugging ?Has anyone faced this?Is there something wrong on our mappings.

    ==========
To Collect Logs for the Different Modes
PasswordSync trace logs are the same, whether you are using a direct access mode or JMS mode configuration. However, these trace logs might only provide partial information. You must configure different classes for each configuration to collect logs on the server side, as described in the following sections.
    Tracing in Direct Mode
When using PasswordSync with a direct access mode configuration, the trace logs show failures, but not all logged failures are real failures. For example, in some circumstances the view check-in takes a long time, which shows as a failure in the log. You must trace on the server side to see this information.
In Direct mode, PasswordSync talks to the servlet that generates the view to be checked into the repository. You can trace the com.waveset.rpc.GenericMessageHandler class at level 4 to view all phases of password synchronization, from receiving the password change to the response generated and returned to the servlet. Level 4 is the only level that supplies enough detail for troubleshooting.
    Tracing in JMS Mode
When using PasswordSync with a JMS mode configuration, the logs only show successful or failed deliveries to the JMS server. From this point on, you must rely on server side logs. JMS tracing is a little more complex.
You can trace the com.waveset.rpc.PasswordSyncHandler class at level 4 to convert the messages generated by the PasswordSync dll into a JMS message and add those messages to the JMS queue. Limited tracing is available in this class, and only level 4 can provide enough information to help with troubleshooting.
If PasswordSync successfully delivers the JMS message to the JMS queue, the tracing will not help you find the cause of a problem. The next, and final step is to trace the JMS adapter. See the Oracle Waveset 8.1.1 Resources Reference for instructions.

  • Airport can no longer read or write the configuration of Time Capsule

I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.3 and maintained with all available patches. I have also a Time Capsule with version 7.6.3 of the firmware. I use AirPort 6.2. So everything seems to be updated with the latest versions.
This has really been a good setup for nearly a year now, but earlier this month Time Machine suddenly stopped to work and could no longer do backups to the Time Capsule. I have tried to factory reset the Time Capsule several times, but I still get problems when writing the configuration to the Time Capsule. I get an error message saying "An error occurred while updating the configuration".
Airport is furthermore not able to detect the Time Capsule correctly anymore, so I have to configure it by entering the IP address. But after setting up WLAN, disks, etc. and enhanching the security, I just receive the error message when I try to write the config. The Internet connection works perfectly anyway, both via cable and wireless.
    Anyone got any tips?

Do the setup by ethernet in full isolation from the network.
Start from a full factory reset.
I would recommend you take the firmware back to 7.6.1 or even earlier if the TC is older than 12months. 7.5.2 was very reliable. All these bugs started with 7.6 and the change to Lion.
I would also recommend installing 5.6 utility.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 (now 6.2 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
For screen shots see this post.

  • Configuring requirement : ordered item to absorb cost of free goods

    Hello Friends,
I need to configure this in SAP SD.
The main item should accumulate the cost of the free goods.
I have  set the cumulative indicator and deactivated pring for this item.
Do i still need to configure the stock value for the free goods as cost free item? Or is this step only applicable for
    another scenario, like,
If I were to activate Pricing such that free goods is displayed as subitem and VPRS configured as cost and discount set to 100%
    1. Set  Item category to TANN using FREE usage   AND
    2. use condition type RL00 with requirement 55.
    3. use pricing type B.
    regards
    Ravi

Read this SAP help at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/dd/55fa4e545a11d1a7020000e829fd11/frameset.htm and the topic Free Goods in Sales and Distribution Processing for details.
Also go through each step of the configuration of the path at SPRO->Sales and distribution->basic functions->free goods.

  • Partner application configuration is missing error on SSO login page

We have APEX 3.1.2 setup as a partner application and an application within APEX setup to use SSO for authentication. Following a link to the APEX application redirects to the Single Sign-On page, as it should, but it also shows "Error: The partner application configuration is missing or expired." I type in my password and username, click the Login button, and (if I entered my username and password correctly, of course!) then the APEX application is shown. So, I cannot figure out why we're getting the no_papp_err error and I have not found any solutions to that issue on Metalink or anywhere else on the Internet. Any ideas? I'm concerned that we have a misconfiguration somewhere that is causing this error and will affect any other partner application we setup in the future.
We're on Oracle Portal 10.1.4, SSO 10.1.2, and SSL is setup on both infra and mid tiers.

Did you try checking the partner application entries on the SSO-login server page?
please login as orcladmin or some other user with membership in, i beleive, iasadmins group. verify that for this partner application, what you see here corresponds to the application URL. it looks like your login page call may have issues. so check for login url too.
also check the ORASSO.WWSSO_LS_CONFIGURATION_INFO$ for entries corresponding to Apex application.
