Configuring adobe live cycle designer in netweaver developer studio
Hi,
I installed Adobe Life Cycle designer 7.1 on Studio for NW04S SP9 , I open up the interactive forms ui element .
Then I opened the library pallete on the studio, but I dont find the webdynpro tab.
What should I do.
Thanks,
Harish
Hi Amol,
I have done this but to no avail.
I picked the prerequisites from help.sap.com
Let me know what I have missed:
<b>You have installed the SAP NetWeaver 4.0 Developer Workplace. You must also have Acrobat Reader 7.0 or a full version of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 if you want to use the InteractiveForm UI element. In addition, the Adobe component of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio must be installed as this component is not installed in the standard version. However, it is very easy to install it if you want to use interactive PDF forms.</b>
The above is the prerequisite in help.sap.com
What I have done is
1. Downloaded Netweaver Developer Studio NW04S SP9 , from service.sap.com
2. Downloaded Adobe Life Cycle designer 7.1 from service.sap.com
3. I run the aldsetup.exe
Let me know what else needs to be done
Thanks,
Harish P Subramanian

Unable to open Adobe LifeCycle Designer in Netweaver Developer Studio
I was trying to work on SAP interactive forms by Adobe.
1.I have installed SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Version: 7.0.09
2.I have installed Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0
3. I have Adobe Reader 7.0.
Now when I am editing the interactive form from NWDS, it says "Could not find the required product, Install SAP Interactive Forms - Adobe Live cycle designer to edit the Interactive Form"
Have I missed some additional settings after the installation? And is there anything to do with the versions?
Can any one suggest me how to resolve this issue ?Hello,
Can you tell us from where you have downloaded this Life Cycle Designer 8.0? Because there is Life Cycle for developing adobe forms and also one more is availalbe which we need to download from Service Market Place from SAP.

How to open multiple instance of Adobe Live Cycle Designer ES 8.2
Hi,
How do I open multiple instance of Adobe Live Cycle Designer ES 8.2. I have two forms and I need to compare them. Another situation is I want to correct/copy the contents by keeping the old and new one under the view simultaneously. I also want to take advantage of multiple monitors
The MDI style windows with Ctl+Tab to switch between documents is not helping me in the context explained above
adobe Acrobat work on multi instance if I type acrobat.exe /n;
but if I type "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Designer 8.2\FormDesigner.exe" /n;, its just opening the existing livecycle instance
please helpI don't think you can run two instances.
But you can stretch the main application window across both monitors and tile the two documents inside the main window. -

I was trying to upload a doc file using the PDF form. I could not make the upload functionality work.
Can anybody help me with uploading a file to the webserver through PDF form?
Can you please give step by step instuctions to follow to upload a file to the webserver through PDF form?
Thank you.
ArunaHi,
I will try to find the standard function module. If there is no such standard function module, then we need to create a custom function module.
Check this link:
Points that you can note:
1) Adobe Interactive forms can be created & connected to SAP database using ABAP Workbench, through WebDynpro.
2) Also adobe Interactive forms can be created & connected to SAP database using Transaction SFP.
3) And for both of the above 'Adobe Live cycle Designer' should be installed on the front end. -
HELP required in ADOBE LIVE CYCLE DESIGNER 7
Please guide whether the following can be done in ADOBE LIVE CYCLE DESIGNER 7
1. Design a form(PDF) and connect to a database
2. Call the designed form(PDF) from an external application (Oracle Forms 9i)
3. Pass some values dynamically into the query of the form(PDF) designed.
4. Based on the values passed dynamically into the query,
some values have to be populated into the form (PDF) from the database.
5. Should be able to enter additional values in some blank columns of the called form(PDF) and save it.1. LiveCycle Designer can helps in designing PDF and/or XDP templates these templates can fetch data from database.
2. XDP templates can render output in PDF and HTML format. Those accessible for other applications.
3. I never tried passing values in query string. There could be a way to do this.
4. These templates can prepopulate data and can do additional user interface actions. There are methods to repopulate/refetch data after initial display.
5. Forms accept additional data and can trigger events based on users actions.
Good luck

How to check Adobe Live Cycle Designer version in ABAP Workbench ?
Hi,
Please advise how to check Adobe Live Cycle Designer version in ABAP Workbench ? Currently i am using NW 7.0 SP18 (ABA,BASIS).
Thank You and Best Regards
Fernand LesmanaThere are 3 ways you can check which version of ALD you have installed on your machine.
1. Go to transaction SFP (Forms Builder) transaction and enter a form name. Select Layout and it should open Adobe LiveCycle Designer. From ALD select Help --> About section and it should give you version details.
2. Go to SE80 and open an Interactive form application. Select the InteractiveFormUI element and click edit. This will open the ALD. From ALD select Help --> About section and it should give you version details.
3. A more simpler way is just go to C:\Program Files\Adobe on your machine and there should be Designer folder there for e.g. Designer 7.1 / Designer 8.0 / Designer 8.1

AbhiHi Abhilash,
"Server: SAP Web AS 6.40 Java (for all scenarios), SAP Web AS 6.40 ABAP (if you are looking at high-volume print scenarios), Adobe document services (run-time component), Adobe Credential (for creating interactive PDF forms)
Frontend: SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio with Adobe LiveCycle Designer (for Web Dynpro for Java development) and/or SAP GUI 6.40 with Adobe LiveCycle Designer (or 6.20 - for developing in SAP Web AS 6.40 ABAP), Active Component Framework (for filling interactive forms in a Web Dynpro application), Adobe Reader 6.0.2 or higher (on the frontend PC)" - from <b><a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2a8a0a37-0301-0010-f794-aecd1bb426e0#q-4">INteractive Forms FAQ</a></b>
I will suggest you to have Adobe Reader >7
SAP GUI with patchlevel >18.
ADLCD >= 7.
Even you dont have ADS you must be able to see ADLCD in SFP. but you wont be able to activate ya get the output.
if you have properly copied the ADLCD seperatley into the Adobe Folder. while clicking the layout tab. open the ADLCD seperately. see if it gets opened.
or design it in ADLCD and import and export the xdp through fb_xdp_down and fb_xdp_up transactions.
Hope these helps. do update and alos search in the Interactive Forms home page as well as the Forum to get the details. there are already many posts related to it.
Thanks and Regards,

Problem launching Adobe Designer in Netweaver Developer Studio
Hi All,
I have successfully (I believe) installed all the components required to have Adobe Interactive Forms running on WAS 6.40 (SR1), in accordance with Achim Hauk's blog 'My struggles with the Adobe Document Services in WAS6.40' (thanks Achim!).
When I go to try the Interactive Form tutorial, and I launch the Adobe Designer 6.0 from Netweaver Developer Studio (version 2.0.9) by right-clicking on my InteractiveForms UI element and selecting 'Edit', I get a popup error 'An error occurred decoding Base64 data - encoded data is invalid or corrupted'. Does anyone know what this means and how to correct it? When I press the OK button on this popup the Adobe Designer is correctly launched, however any changes I make within the Designer don't seem to be saved.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Not sure if it makes any difference, but I have Adobe Reader 6.0.2 installed on my client.
Thanks
John MoyHi John,
I've installed the SP15 sneak preview last weekend. Based on my experience, if you are not using SSL set up, you only need three steps to set up ADS.
1. Create user ADSUser and user group ADSGroup
2. Set up basic authentication
3. Set up credential file
Now, step 1 and 2 which is in the guide is already done when you finish the installation of sneak preview SP15. All you have to do is to set up credential file.
I was having problem with Read timed out issue, and Markus pointed that web service time out need to be increased in my case. I haven't tested it yet since I am away from my PC, but i'm pretty sure it will fix the time out problem.
Also if you download the credential a while back, that file will expired the end of this month (Feb). Markus has posted a new credential file which will expire in June.

- The integrated install should be in my machine or in the server?

- Is this install integrated in the SAP install CD or should I ask for a new license?
you need no extra licence because you´re a Developer:))
I can recommend you get it yourself to speed it up. Find the newest GUI patch a the LCD yourself:))
