Configuring BO DB params in Solaris

Hi,
I am trying to setup the BO XI 3.1 server on Solaris 10. I have imported the .biar file however I am not able to make the reports point to the correct Reporting DB to generate the reports. Curently I due to teh network settings I am unable to use the Import Wizard for this.
Could someone help me with configuring the same from command line on the server side.

Hi,
I have the feeling that it is the publishing Wizard you are takling about. This tool allows you to import CR reports in a BOBJ system and change the data source during the import. There is no Unix version of this tool though.
You can change the data source of a CR report in the CMC. Just log in the CMC, go to Folders and navigate to the report you want to change. Highlight the report, press the right mouse button and select Database Configuration. In this panel you can choose to customize the connection information of your report.

If your sun system is working then probably it has network configured already .You can check it by the following command on the sun.
ifconfig -a
Generally applications asks where license server is located and you need to give the ip-address or host name only . Application docs will give more detail about it.
You can get ip-address from ifconfig comand above.

Configuring SSH(Secure Shell) in solaris 10

Hi ,
I need help to configure ssh ( secure shell ) on Solaris 10.
I tried the following steps
On the Local Machine
a) Generated public and private key using key-gen
The private key is stored in
$HOME/.ssh/id_rsa
The public key is stored in
$HOME/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
b)I started the ssh-agent and executed ssh-add
On Remote Machine
c) I copied the public key generated in local machine from
$HOME/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
to
$HOME/.ssh/authorized_keys
d)I tried execute this command from local host to remote host
ssh $REMOTE_MACHINE
I got the following error

JVM takes more RAM than defined in -Xmx param on solaris

Hi all,
We have a problem on production installation of our product on Solaris paltfroms: jvm takes more (much more) RAM than defined in -Xmx param and without any OutOfMemory exceptions. (how itt possible at all ?)
The only JNI call in application is SAP interface connector, but application uses a lot of Runtime.exec() calls.
Is it possible to have such kind of "leaks" in java using JNI or Runtime.exec()?
I will be very appreciate for any tip how to find the root of this problem and how we can fix it ?

How to configure a Graphic Terminal at Solaris 9

Hello everyone!
I�m having difficulties while finding a compatible Solaris 9 driver for my video card.
I have installed Solaris 9 in my PC, but I can only work with the text terminal, what is not interesting because I need to export a remote window from a server to my local machine.
I�m using Diamond Multimedia Viper II Z200 as my video controler.
Any help is useful.

From the command console run:
/usr/sbin/kdmconfig
Configure the hardware device by selecting the closest match. Please pay attention to the other configurable items as well. Make certain you get the mouse, monitor size and display resolution correct in the process or you may end up locked onto a blank screen.
I don't recall seeing that type of (Diamond?) Video Card in the device options of kdmconfig but I have never looked for it. Perhaps you might want to slip a common ATI or Nvidia card into your AGP slot if you can't find a device driver for yours.

ZFS Configuration Question - Also posted in Solaris x86

Hello,
I have 2 x 140GB (hw Raid-0 + spare). About 20GB is allocated to Solaris on UFS (standard installation and partitions/slices).
I would like to allocate the 120GB left on the disk drive to ZFS. That space is not unallocated to any file system for now.
I found a lot of documentation of how to create a ZFS Pool on an empty disk drive. The documentation is less clear on how to do it on a drive already use by another FS.
Any help will be appreciated.

I just setup another Solaris x86 server tonight to play with. That future production server is in it's own vlan wtih no Internet access for now.
The test server has the same configuration, but less disk space.
Here is the output of prtvtoc

As you can see, the 1st partition is used at 26%. With fdisk, I can create a 2nd partition. My problem is to get that 2nd partiition availlable to Solaris and create a zpool in that unused space..

BPEL-10555 Identity Service Configuration error is thrown in Solaris O/S

I am getting the below error from the WorkList Application, when I run my code on Solaris O/S.
But when this same code is run on Windows, it works fine.
"500 Internal Server Error
BPEL-10555 Identity Service Configuration error. Identity Service Configuration file has error. "
It is because,I have imported 4 classes in my payload-body.jsp file of Human Task :-

We have set the OID and our security realm is "alshaya.com" would that be a problem.

There's a version of gcc in /usr/sfw/bin/gcc. I can't think of anything that you'd need to "configure" on it.

The easiest way is to use the printmgr command, which is a GUI. Othervise you can add it using lpadmin, the syntax of which i don't recall at heart, but i think there are some useful examples in the manpages or in the forum.

Very very easy.
Go to the print manager . (printmgr I believe or in the launch menu under preferences)
select add a network printer
Fill out the info. I find that the hpijs printer driver works better then the suggested foomatic on my hp 4000s. I could not print pdfs otherwise.
Other things to know is the protocol should be BSD (at least it works for me). And add the port to the destination so 192.168.0.1:9600 for example (for hp).
thats about it. To have it show up correctly in JDS you should probably add it to the printer list under the launch->preferences->printer preferences.
