Configuring BRI interface for Voice ( MGCP gateway

hi there,
i have a Call Manager which is connect to Cisco 2800 series acting as MGCP getway. ISDN connection between the 2800 and the carrier ( telestra sydney ). the call manager is seeing the gateway and i have configured a numbering plan on the call manager for the phones. the phones can call internally but externally i dont what configuration i should configure under the BRI interface for the carrier ( telestra ) to recongnise my number plan. please if you have any demo configuration or configuration that has perviously used post to me.

this is a basic MGCP config on the Gateway on your area

  • Trouble adding second port BRI in a 2801 MGCP gateway

    my config is CCM 413 with a 2801 SRST including a VIC2-2BRI .
I have configured the 2801 as MGCP gateway on the CCM, added the module VIC2-2BRI and configured the BRI 0/0/0 in this gateway.
this BRI work properly with the PSTN . I can make successfull call inbound and outbound
Now I want to add the second BRI (ie BRI 0/0/1 ) in the gateway for the same hunt group, the same PSTN provider.
When I do that this BRI can't register and make different kind of problem on the existing well working BRI.
for example I noticed that I can make inbound or outbound call with connected state but no voice in the two way.
I noticed also that the first BRI become completely blocked after two call.
I have verified the conf of the BRI 0/0/1 but i don't see any difference with the BRI 0/0/0 .
the only way to get back good working of the BRI 0/0/0 is to remove BRI 0/0/1 from the gateway conf.

    Hello,
That is a good news though. Can you please share to me the TAC case nr? So I can refer this to tAC. Because we have also opened a CASE for the same problem on the 3725 but not hear from TAC yet for the patch!
I got another image ie. IPVOICE version 12.4.1.9 from a friend that has the patch for this problem on the 2801 but there is no SPSERVICES image yet.
Now it looks that Cisco has a newer image.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Assigning multiple interfaces for Oracle API Gateway (OAG)

We are deploying Oracle API Gateway to throttle our incoming API requests. We would like to keep the incoming external API requests separate from the internal configuration management so that they go through different interfaces when accessing the OAG server. This is mainly for security reasons so that the external people won’t have access to the interface used by internal operations team to manage OAG. Based on your experience, is there any standard best practice to accomplish this? We were thinking to perhaps use two of the server’s network interfaces with different IPs, one for the incoming API requests and the other for the internal admin management of OAG. But not sure if this is the best way to do what we need. We are aware of OAG's capability to support two separate ports to handle this situation, but would like a more secure set-up that could completely eliminate external access to the OAG management done by the IT team.
Would appreciate any thoughts on best practices used regarding multiple interfaces for OAG set-up. Thank you. Oracle Marketing Cloud.

You are on the right track.
Here is how you can achieve this:
You can use multiple network interfaces on the UNIX machine and setup networking/routing in such a way that all external traffic comes on on one card and is routed internally via a different card.
Segregate difference types of services (i.e to be used by external clients vs internal apps) into difference different "Service Groups". Have each of these service groups listen on different port + NIC card (under Listeners, you can define a port to list to list on a specific network address and port instead of *).
Setup additional protection for services that will be accessed by external clients. Use "Threatening Content " filter to protect your services.
Setup 2 way SSL for the interface that will be called by external clients. Setup a DN based authorization check if you want to have both authentication and authorization.
    Hope this helps.

  • FAX Detection Application for a MGCP Gateway

    Hi,
I have an MGCP Gateway and a Right Fax Solution along with CUCM. Was wondering if FAX detection application can be configured for this setup or is FAX detection only for H323 gateways.
    Thanks
    Prakash

It uses TCL script, so it is not available with MGCP.

  • BRI Ordering for voice help

Hoping someone can help me out on a slightly off topic question.
Trying to order a BRI circuit (for backup voice) from Verizon with additional directory numbers (telephone numbers) on the line. The circuit comes with 2 SPIDs but I understand it is possible to add additional numbers to the circuit.
In Europe it would be "multiple subscriber number /MSN". In the US, I am using the term "Secondary/additional directory number" but the telco is saying they have never heard of such a thing.
I was wondering if anyone has the correct term or possibly ordering code I could have the telco reference for this.
    Many thanks for any assistance!

In Europe, each circuit should be able to handle an additional 8 MSN's.
Here is some information I found regarding the US (courtesy of SBC)
    Secondary Directory Number
Customer may subscribe to any quantity of Secondary Directory Numbers (as many as CPE will allow).
The first appearance of a unique directory number on an CPE that already has a primary number assigned. Sometimes called a "virtual directory number" because it shares the channel with other numbers, but has some attributes of the primary number. May have multiple and shared appearances. Allowed independently assigned features.

  • VoFR PVC for data and PVC for voice with FRTS

Dear friends, It is my first experience configuring VoFR. My access rate is 128 Kbps and the CIR is 64 Kbps. I configured the router following some cisco examples using "vofr cisco" and FRTS into my "map-class" for voice. You can see my config in the attach file.
It works fine, the quality voice is good (2 calls)when the link is congested up to 100% through bi-directional ftp download.
However, I cannot get a speed upper to 64 Kbps. I understand that it is as FRTS works and it is necesary to QoS for voice. But I`m paying to my service provider a price for 128/64 and I never won`t get a speed greater than 64 Kbps.
How can I solve this problem without increase my CIR?. It has a additional cost.
I`m reading that some solution could be create two PVCs: one for voice and one for data. How should I configure them to get a burst traffic for data upper to 64 Kbps without affect my quality of voice?
    Thank you for your suggestions.
    Edwin.

Dude, look at your DHCP exclude on your router.
It is supposed to be low/high IP.
So basicly you told the router to exclude IP address from 10.146.54.1 to 10.146.89.5.
This means that DHCP will not hand out 10.146.54.1 through 10.146.89.5
    try
    ip dhcp excluded-address 10.146.54.1 10.146.54.15
    Hope this helps.
Also, I know this is years ago but thought I would throw that out there.

Which protocol to use, is up to you, you should know the requirements of your customer to define that.

    Hello,
you can find lots of info about analog voice interfaces here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk653/tk754/tech_protocol_home.html
I've found this particular document very useful when trying to understand how telephone signaling works. This applies to any telephone system where interfacing to analog phones or the PSTN is involved.

  • Configuring TNT in IOS Voice Gateway

                       Hello all
    1. Is TNT, Take Back And Transfer, supported in IOS voice gateway in general?
    2. If yes, is there any specific IOS configuration needed at the voice gateway?
(I do not see any need as the DTMF digits(-tones) will be sent in-band as in normal voice stream to the PSTN (which supported/subscribe to TNT).
    Please advise. thanks
    Paul

No need to configure anything for TNT as the transfer DTMF sequence is sent inband.

    Please help.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
You can check in the /opt/CiscoMGC/etc directory properties.dat file which has the parameter *.EchoCanRequired which should be set to 1. This can binded by an individual trunk-group as well. Also make sure the voice-ports have the echo-cancel coverage and disable VAD to see if it makes it better.

  • Sound interface for doing voice-overs

Helping a friend learn to edit. She has a good mic. Can anyone recommend the simplest (inexpensive) interface for getting the sound into the iMac?
    All ears,
    Ben

Aha ... but WHY is it a bad idea? My setup is running most of the day, but I do go out for lunch, or to do a shoot, or to a meeting. I don't like the idea of the computer pumping away unnecessarily for hours while I'm not in the office - and getting older faster in the process. And I also don't like the idea of turning it off and allowing it to cool down three or four times a day.
I've been putting it to sleep for years, and the only negative side-effect I've ever noticed is with M-Audio (designed for Pro-Tools and not Mac friendly). If I'd known this before hand I would have gotten something like an Apogee which doesn't seem to have any trouble taking naps with the Mac...
    All the best,
    Ben
