Configuring CE510 thru the HTML GUI

I have a Ce510 Content Engine at a Customer Site that needs to be configured. The customer purchased the product a couple of years ago, but did not really do anything with it until recently.
I need to find a manual or documentation that specifically addresses using the HTML GUI ( the box is running ACNS Version 5.1), as there are many configuration options within the GUI, but I have as yet not been able to find anything on the Cisco Web Site for configuring it.

Hi,
Unfortunately, what you are looking for is not available. This due that the options of the GUI are somewhat limited for initial configuration, but complex setups and commands are only availabe from the CLI.

Please notice appendix A; which explains the menu options of the GUI.
Please consider upgrading the ACNS code of your customer?s CE, due that there are many enhancements and bug fixes on the lastest code 5.5.x.

Using the HTML SAP GUI inside the Enterprise Portal?

In our company we plan to set up the SAP Enterprise Portal (NetWeaver 7.0). The first application we want to provide inside the portal is the SAP GUI that connects to our SAP ERP 2005 system via single sign on. Therefor two different approaches exist:
1: Using the standard SAP GUI inside a portal iView. In this case every client pc needs the SAP GUI installed.
2: Using the HTML SAP GUI. In this case we have to set up the integrated ITS in our SAP ERP system.
Now I have some questions about the second approach. Is the functionality of the HTML GUI equal to the functionality of the standard GUI? If not, what are the restrictions? How high is the additional load on the network and SAP ERP system caused by the HTML GUI? Would you recommend this approach for a system with more than thousand SAP users?

At least if you consider using webgui, you should test the transactions properly as there are some issues for example with scandinavian characters and lines visible in lists of search helps.
Also you might want to consider the limitations of the screen resolutions and space which the portal framwork already takes from the gui. This of course is a topic for both HTML/SAP GUI's.

UWL HTML Gui is not launching T-Code

Helllo Experts,
We have a workiten in UWL that launches a transaction code in ECC when you click it.
When I set the SAP Gui type to Win Gui it launches the t-code. If I change it to HTML Gui it does not open the t-code, I don't get any error message and it goes straight to the navigation screen.
In our development environment, the html gui works perfect. We have the problem in our QA environment.

Problem with the HTML Preview

Hello,
when i try to run the HTML Preview, i get this error message:
" Failed to connect to "localhost".Error returned from windows sockets API:0.Please check the name of the RAS server"
If i logged on the BOE, I get the HTML Preview, but without a login I get this error message.
Does somebody know what kind of configuration we can do to solve this and use in this case the RAS-Server?
This is my config:
Web Server Name: [servername]:8080
Plattform: Java
URL: http://[servername]:8080/CrystalReports/crystalreportviewers/preview.jsp
RAS Server Name: [servername] ???

BUT in the options from Crystal Reports I can configure to "Enable the HTML preview when not logged on the BusinessObjects Enterprise" (original text from CR).
In this tab you can do some configuration like Web Server Name, Plattform, URL and the main reason the RAS Server Name.
My questions is, what kind of configuration I need to do, when I'm NOT LOGGED on the BOE to view the HTML Preview?

UWL: enabling the web GUI for html for work items

Hi,
We have configured UWL in portal. All the backend work items are appearing in the UWL iView in portal.
But when we click on some of the work items SAP GUI opens instead of web GUI for html.
Does any one have information what needs to be configured in UWL configuration xml file so as to enable the web GUI for html for rest of the work items?

What is the best recemended option of SAP Win gui or HTML gui doing it for the Portal for R/3 transactions.
I heard there is much network space will take if i use HTML gui for more than 1000 users, when u consider.

Go to transaction Data->Actions tab in CRMD_ORDER transaction.
If action is already defined then you can select the action adn see the preview

Html Gui not working

Dear eXperts,
i want to enable sap gui for html. For this i've activated the following services from the transaction SICF:
1). /sap/public/bc/its/mimes
2). /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
3). /sap/public/ping
Also, on se 80->utilities ive set Integrated ITS under the publish tab.
after that i've also published "webgui" and "system", as complete service.
now when i try to Test the service in SICF, the browser says:

The browser is showing the correct link since im going directly through the "Test Service" from transaction SICF.
and yes, i do use the proxy server to connect to the internet. I've tried blocking the Domain Controller IP in the Proxy Exception list, and what i assume by "ABAP host" is DEV (in my case ) so yes, i've tried placing that in the exception list too but none is working

Im sorry but im a newbie, and i don't know much about icman.However ive tried eliminating the DNS and proxy server too...but the issue is still there.
I've also tried disabling my proxy in total, but no result.

Need to modify a Header which is in phtml, I need to find the html page

I don't know much about php, but I need to change a header and add a new link, it should be very easy to do in html, but when I opened the header, the code is all in php.
How can I find the related html for the header to do these changes?

Take a look at the iCab Mobile browser for the iPad. It allows document uploads if you configure it properly in the settings. iCab Mobile also works with DropBox.
You may have to download the documents to the iPad and upload from there, but it might be worth a look here.

How can I upload any file (not only photos) under iOS 6?
Unlike the web engine of iOS 5.x and older, the web engine of iOS 6 has now basic upload support as well. But it only supports uploading photos and videos from the photo album. And this will only work under iOS 6.
The upload capability of iCab Mobile works under all iOS releases and supports uploading photos videos and all other file types. It can even scale down photos before uploading to save bandwidth.
But iCab's own custom upload capability has the disadvantage, that because of several iOS restrictions, it can not work on all web pages. Therefore under iOS 6, iCab Mobile provides a switch in the settings where the user can choose, if iCab should use the upload capability from the iOS (only photos, works with some more web pages) or the capabilities of iCab (photos and all other files, can't work on all web pages).
So if you need to upload other files than just photos, make sure that you set the option "Upload files via" in the settings to "iCab Mobile".

ACS IS WORKING, BUT NOT THE WEB GUI

I have an ACS ver 5.4.0.46.7 running on an applicance, ACS-1121-K9. After rebooting a Win2008-controller it stopped working and someone in my Department rebooted the ACS. It looks like the authentications are working now, but I can't Access the web gui. It responds to ping and ssh. I did a show acs-config-web-Interface and the view-Interface was disabled, I enabled it but still it isn't working:

I could try to reboot again but I'd prefer not if possible..

As a basic troubleshooting we can restart the services or server completely. However if that doesn't help, then we can also review the size of /opt to ensure accumulation of view database is not causing this issue. From the logging perspective we can look at management and ade/ADE logs.
In Majority of cases customer reset the application configuration and restore the last good backup. This always help them resolve the issue quickly without going through the troubleshooting process.
