Configuring Cisco TFTP Server for CUCM

Hi,
I currently have a Publisher and two Subscriber (v 6.1.3), I have now gone over the magical 1250 devices where Cisco recommend a standalone TFTP server.
I understand to deploy it I need to add it to the Publisher as a Server and then once up and running enable the Cisco TFTP service, then update the Option 150 address in my DHCP scope to point towards the new TFTP server.
A couple of questions, does the TFTP server need the following installed at the same level as the Publisher/Subscribers:
Dial Plans
Device Packs
Locales

- By architecture, the TFTP server would be the one pushing out the firmware load and to the phones - so you would need your device packs, containing the bundle of firmware loads, to be on your standalone TFTP server.
- locales install files which the phones get from the TFTP server, such as their dictionary - so you would need locales on the standalone TFTP server
- Dial plans are files used by the CCM binary file. If you are not planning on running CCM service on the server ever, you don't need to install dial plans on that server. However, as best practice, it is good to have dial plans, locales and device packs uploaded on this standalone TFTP server, in case the server roles were adjusted at a later point in time.

Have a dedicated TFTP Server for CCM cluster

Hi,
One CCM3.3(3) cluster in production, in which the publisher server was the TFPT server.
Now we need expend the system and would like to deploy a dedicated TFTP Server for the cluster. Is there anyone telling me what I should concern if I have a dedicated TFTP server other than the publisher server?

Integration of Cisco Fax Server with CUCM

Need some help with regards to the setup of Cisco Fax Server. I have Cisco Fax Server 9.4 Enterprise Suite which will be installed on Cisco 7816 server. Now my concern is with the integration of Fax server with CUCM. I have CUCM Ver 7. Could anyone tell me what configuration is required on CUCM and I believe we need to have dial-peer on the Voice gateway as well pointing to the Fax server. If anyone has deployed then please let me know the configuration on CUCM & the voice gateway.

I dont think is there any mechanism but yes to secure you can configure on router that tftp source interface for tftp server cofniguration upload and download into router or on server.

Configuring a Directory Server for Digital IDs and Certificates

My company is moving toward using electronic signatures for internal documents. All of the users are on XP machines and have Acrobat Professional 8.0 installed. So far, I've been manually adding trusted IDs for each person who will be receiving signed documents that need to be validated. I'd like to make this a little easier by storing everyone's certificates on a server (Windows 2003) so that people can just go out there and add them all as one .fdf file. What I'm wondering is, what is the difference between doing it this way versus going through Acrobat and configuring a directory server? Will it work either way?

For The specified server are already present in the directory services,
please take a look into the below Blog:

The method mentioned in the blog above is trying to move the old information that stored in AD, and then take an action of re-authorisation of the DHCP server.

How to configure a proxy server for Windows Azure Tools in Visual Studio 2013

I would like to use the Windows Azure tools in Visual Studio 2013 to manage my Azure Web sites (Server Explorer -> Windows Azure -> Web Sites) from within my corporate network which is secured using a proxy server. Unfortunately, I am not able to use
the Windows Azure tools since the required HTTPS connection to windows azure is not going through the default configured proxy. Instead, Visual Studio tries directly to connect to port 443 which is blocked by our corporate firewall (and yes: there is no way
around using our proxy server). Other visual studio features like NuGet, updates, etc. work fine and use the configured proxy server.
So my question: How can I configure visual studio respective its Azure tools to use a proxy server instead of a direct connection? I already tried configuring the proxy server within the file devenv.exe.config but this doesn't show any effect for Windows Azure
tools.

As we have very similar problems I consider the found solution a work arround an existing problem which will not work if corporate FW policy does not allow such changes.
In my mind, any tools in charge of dealing with some sort of FW protocols should deliver the following information, should make it absolute clear how to setup that the request packages are setup rigth at the first time.
a) proxy server
b) proxy port
c) proxy user
d) proxy users-password
e) proxy.auth.Preference="BASIC"
And for moste tools (including Visual Studio and AZUR Tools) it is absolut unclear
a) how to setup that on a per tools basis
b) OR who inherits this information from whom i.e. use the same as IE does, what if we use FireFox or any other browsers?
I understand that developers requested to cure such problem areas will often have difficulty to gain all required elemenst used to realy test the solution.
But I can tell you: I loos more time figthing down the FW setups for my clients. WHat I do at home in a sniff, takes ages to be realised by all the various clients on the market where each has to deliver the same sort of information but actually does not,
or has it just somewhere, but not in the vicinity of the demanding user.
Good examples i.e. NetBeans IDE where the Option Menu shows very clearly what information is required to pass through a FW/Proxy; but even there, the hint to start with a BASIC authentication schema is not part of this OPTION menu and must be added a JAVA
environment value. But at least, it works.

Error while configuring the application server for ESB on Jdeveloper

While i try to configure a application server connection on Jdeveloper for a remote installation of ESB (advanced mode with all the three components together and not in a cluster mode) i get the following error :

All the OC4J processes are running on the server as i get the following output for the ./opmnctl status command :

i tried with taht.....same error.......is this an issue with port 6003 on the server........it is a linux server and I cannot telnet to it......i can use SSH though.......how to know whether the opmn port(6003) is open or not?.....

Our new office will setup a new branch office with a routed network link to our HO. In HO, we have 2 domain controllers configured as AD and DNS just for fail over scenarios.
How will we configure the DNS server of our 3rd domain controller which we will placed in the new branch office. What would be the proper settings of DNS server integrated to AD to work well especially to have a successful replication and communication to
the 2 DC's located in HO?

If you have multiple DC's in that site i would recommend using any of the partner DC's IP addresses as preferred one and secondary DNS IP to pointing to itself. Dont use loopback addresses configure it with actual IP addresses.
If you have only one server in branch office point itself as the primary DNS and HO DC as secondary and tertiary.
Make sure that all clients in your branch site are pointing to the branch DC as primary DNS server.

We have a central location that has numerous vpn connection to many different clients. Instead of using the TFTP server on LMS could I point LMS to use a tftp server on the client lan? That would make transfer of IOS so much fast instead of trying to copy across a heavily used WAN connection.

Yes it is possible. There is a upgrade option using Remote Staging. The Remote Staging and Distribution option helps you to upgrade multiple devices over a WAN.
You can perform remote staging and distribution by either of the methods:
•External FTP server
•External TFTP server
•Remote Staging Device
In this workflow, a managed device or external TFTP server or FTP server is used to stage an image temporarily. The staged image is then used to upgrade devices that are connected by LAN to the Remote Stage device or external TFTP server or FTP server. If you use this method, you do not have to copy a similar image, multiple times across the WAN.
After the image distribution job is completed using a managed device as a remote stage device, the configuration changes made to the Remote Stage device are automatically reversed and the staged image is deleted from the Remote Stage device.
After the distribution job is complete, you can use the Software Mgmt Jobs tab to:
•Undo an upgrade and roll back to the previous image
•Retry devices that failed a previous upgrade
To distribute images using Remote Staging:
LMS 3.x :
Resource Manager Essentials > Software Mgmt > Software Distribution
LMS 4.x:
Configuration > Tools > Software Image Management > Software Distribution
Select Use remote staging and click Go to configure IOS upgrade job.

Make sure that the required ports are allowed over he device. The users can access through port 25/443 etc. and should be opened. Better, to go for a test at www.testconnectivity.microsoft.com

Configuring OS X Server for Jetphoto - need steps.

Folks I am trying to get jetphoto up and running on our MacMini OS X server, but don't quite understand how to configure OS X Server 10.8.5 to get the jetphoto package to work.
It's easy on a client version of OS X, but I can't figure this one out.
I could use some advice/ steps. I placed the web package in the web server/ documents directory and tried configuring a website for it in Server.app, but no luck.

I am using Mavericks Server now.
Here are the following issues:
The domain name (properly formed) is giving me a red status light.
I chose a different directory for file storage other than the one you suggested. Server.app allows this it seems since theres a "Store Site Files In" drop down menu.
IP address is set to any on port 80, because if I use the ip address of the computer (which defaults to the OS Server page-which we use) we would lose the default page.
I don't know how to actually invoke the jpserver from Safari. I don't know what I should tip in the URL to get any response so that I can trouble shoot and/or see if it's working.
I am starting to wonder how Serve.app is validating the domain name which would then determine whether or not it gets a red or green light. Does the domain name need to be created outside of our office first - meaning with our webhost for instance? Right now I am just trying to get jet photo up and running for internal local network use so that the address would be something like office server.local/photos
I'd like to do this without installing MAMP on our server; assuming OS X server has what's necessary to do what I am trying to do.
Eventually I would like to have this working from the internet and I realize I would need to have a public domain resolve to our server for this site.
