Configuring Directory server control center after installation..

Hi,
We have already installed Sun Java Communication Suite 6.0 on a Sun solaris 10 machine along with Directory Server.
During installation , we have skipped the directory server control center component. How do we select the same after the installation?
Any addition inputs for configuration of Directory server control center will be helpful.
Thanx in advance....

  • Installation/Config Problem with Sun Directory Server Control Center (6.0)

    Hi All,
I have recently attempted an installation of Sun Directory Server EE 6.0 on a x86 Solaris 10 machine.
I have selected to install Core Directory Server and Sun Directory Server Control Center with my installation.
After installation, if I check the status of the SUNDSCC, I receive the following message:
    bash-3.00# ./dsccsetup status
    DSCC Application is not installed
DSCC Agent is registered in Cacao
    DSCC Registry has been created
Path of DSCC registry is /var/opt/SUNWdsee/dscc6/dcc/ads
Port of DSCC registry is 3998
I have also tried to re-start the Sun Java Web Console using the /usr/sbin/smcwebserver start command but that does not do anything.
If i try to initialize the SUNDSCC usin the ./dsccsetup initialize command, the registry got created, but it still displays as "application not installed".
I do not understand. I have already installed this application using the JES installer.
    please help!
    Regards,
    Saahil Goel

I had a similar issue. Here is how I fixed it.
Run dsccsetup status with the -v option. it will show you where it is trying to find the DSCC Application. Then do a find on your system to see where it is actually installed. Then simply copy it over to where dsccsetup is looking for it. Then do dsccsetup initialize. Below is what it looked like on my system when I did it:
    # ./dsccsetup status -v

  • Sun Directory Service Control Center error

    Hi Everyone,
I an having some issues when setting up the Sun Directory Service Control Center..
I am deploying on Red Het Enterprise Linux 5.4 and have followed the Sun Directory Server installation guide and am deploying the dscc7.war file on the Sun Java Systems Web Server, after I fillow the steps in the installation guide I deploy the war file to the web server but when I test the connection from the browser I get the following error:, does anyone know what I may have missed??
I have also found that the docs say to add the following to the magnus.conf file in the http server:
    type=magnus-internal/parsed-html exts=shtml
However I get the following message from the web server when I restart the instance:
    type=magnus-internal/parsed-html directive ignored
    Thanks

    Hi,
I have the same problem, too.
I installed DSEE7 on Solaris 10 SPARC. The installation went smoothly and there was no error occur.
I cd to the folder /opt/SUNWdsee7/bin, login as root user, and the run the command ./dsccsetup initialize.
After that I login Weblogic 10 server console as the weblogic user and installed the dscc7.war file. The installation also went smoothly and no error at all. I got the following error when I tried to open the page http://host:port/dscc7:

  • Strange bug/problem in mobile server control center

I am running Mobile server control center for settings some properties for synchronisation. When I leave the system idle for few minutes, I get the following errors:
WTG-10109: Web-to-Go could not locate requested URL
Web-to-Go could not locate requested URL /admin/console/usrblank.html
    Please contact the application vendor
Also this error "oracle.html.HtmlRuntimeException: HtmlFile.toString() IO Exception caught" .
I had to restart the server again. This happens all the time when I leave the system idle for few minutes.
I dont think this is a session problem. Even if this is session problem then it should give a valid error message.
My session timeout was set to 180 minutes(default).
Your suggestions will help us to evaluate the product.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

thanks but I tried all combinations and understand from metalink and other replies in this discussion forums, we need to remove the mobileadmin schema and reinstall it.But dont know why - is it a bug or some problem with installations.
I am still not able to enter as ADMINISTRATOR/ADMIN or administrator/admin(if case sensitive).
    thanks in advance for suggestions.

  • Use of configuration directory server

Maybe this is a dumb question but since I dont know the answer:
Does one need to buy a production license of the Directory Server to use as a configuration directory server?
I will have six web servers in my production environment. But only one or two admin user accounts for secure access.
    Thank,
    -amit

    Both 2005Q1 and 2005Q4 are considered 6.2. I would
    use 2005Q4. Actually, I DID use 2005Q4.
Why use bits that are already superceeded? Is it the
cost of 4 CD's?So, can this happen in two separate stages?:
    1. First upgrade all directory servers to 5.2p4 and migrate the current messaging server 5.2 configuration.
    2. At a later date, once directory services have been upgraded and are stable, the upgrade of the messaging server can be done.
    Thanks

  • IDS 5.x: Is a separate configuration directory server instance even needed?

Because iDS 5.x supports multiple database instances, why is there a need to suggest installing the directory server with a separate configuration directory server instance (on say port 390)?
In large multi-tiered iDS 4.x directory server implementations, using a single master configuration directory server is very cumbersome, so many implementations are using a local configuration directory server instance, on port 390 with the data instance on the usual port 389.
With the iDS 5.x release, we will be implementing local directory server instances, all on port 389, on all of our tiered LDAP servers. There will be no separate configuration directory server instance, as it is not needed.
At this point, I am questioning the "best practices" suggested by the SunOne documentation to use a separate configuration directory server instance. It does not need to be on a separate port now with iDS 5.x supporting multiple databases.
And I note that the present "/usr/sbin/directoryserver setup" script will not allow for a directory instance to be installed on port 390.
    Adam

Yes, with iDS 5.X, it's much safer to have the o=NetscapeRoot tree served by the same instance as your corp/user tree. The separation approach was created to avoid the pitfalls when importing LDIF, but the -n argument to ldif2db lets you avoid such problems.

  • Satellite A100-237: I do not have the Catalyst Control Center after driver installation

    Hello,
    I use a Satellite A100-237 laptop. 1.83 GHz Core Duo, Ati Mobility Radeon X1600 512MB Hypermemory, 1.5GB DDR2 RAM.
My laptop now seems to use only the own 256 MB RAM (Graphic card's own RAM).
I purchased Need for Speed Carbon and installed it to my laptop.
When I tried to open the game, a blue screen appeared for less than 1 seconds, and than system restarted. Windows said that that was a critical error and a driver stopped Windows XP to operate, therefore system is restarted.
I searched in the net for this problem and, people said that, when they updated the driver the problem is solved.
I downloaded Display driver 8.241 (download file name: display_xp-8241.zip) from toshiba-europe.com.
Driver installed but while installing ATI Catalyst Control Center, at a point the installation process stoped continuing. I had to end the task after a while.
It said that driver is installed and system must be restarted.
Now the game works, thats not the problem, however I do not have the Catalyst Control Center. (Where I recently use it for connecting other screens to my laptop)
How can I solve this problem?
    Sorry for long letter,
    Thanks for helps.

You may run the driver installer again, use the custom installation option and select Catalyst Control Center only. Alternatively, you may remove the entire driver and try re-installing again. I suggest you also download the notebook driver package from ATI's website instead of Toshiba, as their drivers are usually more up-to-date (although it might be less safe to use them, I don't know).
And BTW, I have the same notebook and I have failed to see an option to set the machine to use the VRAM *only* instead of borrowing from RAM whenever necessary. Any ideas?

  • How to Configure Directory Server 6 In configure later mode

    Hi ,
I would like to know how to configure the directory server in configure later mode.
I have done it in JES4 using the directoryserver command. Which is the command to be used in JES5 for configuring the directory server after the binaries are installed.
It would be great if anyone could refer me to the documentation for the configure later mode.
    Thanks,

There has been quite a few posts on blogs.sun.com with regards to configuring DS instances after installation.
It is part of the installation guide as far as I can remember.

  • Can't login to Directory Service Control Center 6

After installition of Sun JES 5 Directory Server (OS Solaris SPARC 9) i'm trying to login to DSCC.
I provide username admin and a password for admin.
But after clicking the LogIn Button I see a message Authentification error.
IWhen I explore a Directory server through LADP browser (as cn=Directory manager) I can't see the cn=Administrators,cn=config subtree at all (and cn=config subtree is missing, too).
This subtee is present in the <instance-path>/config/dse.ldif file, however.
Is it normal? Or should I create this subtree manually?

    Hi!
I've tried recreating registry several times.
But when I'm trying to login (after restarting directory server), the problem persists ;(
I still can't login. But when I observe DS logs (Directory_Server.instance-path/logs)
I can see nothing in *access logs
And in error logs I can see

I wonder if troubles with COS could lead to my disability to login to DSCC ?

  • Move Configuration directory server

We are in the process of transitioning from DS5.2 to DS6.3.1. A few of the consumers will be remaining at 5.2 level for some time (budget reasons). Currently they all have their configuration stored on one of our 5.2 masters. When the time comes to take down this old master we'd like to move the configuration directory (the o=NetscapeRoot information) to the individual consumers. Anyone know how to get the config for a particular consumer, upload it (to a file or a newly created o=netscaproot on the consumer), and the configure the admin server to look for it in the new location?
    Thanks for any help.

    Thanks,
Yes, I do think it will be better to take the whole NetscapeRoot tree instead of trying to get just the host specific data now that I think about it. But the other question of getting the admin servers on the consumers to look for their info in the new location - I tried editing {install-root}/admin-serv/config/adm.conf and changing the 'ldaphost' line to a new host, but even after restart it kept going to the old server. Any ideas on getting this to change?

  • Sun Java Directory Server Linux RHEL 5 Installation

    Hello,
As Linux RHEL ES/AS 5 is not officially listed in the operating system requirements.
Has somebody been succesful in the installation ?
    - With which Linux RHEL 5 update.
    - Are the package depencies the same (compat-C/C++ libraries)
    - Which Edition of Sun Java Directory Server (5.2Q6, 6.0, 6.3) and which packages (Native/ZIP)
Tips would be useful as I have been successful in Linux RHEL 4 update 4 with Sun Java Directory Server 5.x

    Hi,
I have installed ODSEE 11.1.1.7.0 on Win2008. The DSCC is deployed on glassfish 3. I'm getting following error (could not contact the DSCC agent...) while try to create instance:
The "dsccagent info" shows the agent is running. The JMX port is 3997. Any idea is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

After a successful installation of Weblogic 6.1 SP6 from SP4, the following is displayed upon entering the admin console:
    Console-Server Version Mismatch
    server-version 6.1.4.0
    console-version 6.1.6.0
However, inspection of the weblogic.log file shows the following message:

So what version am I running? Was the installation of SP6 really successful?

    Hi,
I am having the same issue when I upgraded from WLI 7.0 SP6 to 7.0 SP7.
Can anyone have any idea abt how to solve this issue.
    Thanks
